Wausau Auto Reviews (99)

When I walked into Wausau Auto, it was with a less than positive outlook. I had already been turned down for financing at several other local dealerships. After spending some time working with [redacted] and the amazing people at Wausau Auto, I realized that they weren't like the rest. [redacted] and the team did the impossible and were able to get me into a new 2013 Chevy Malibu that I absolutely love. The entire staff went above and beyond what I had expected. I am so happy that I went to Wausau Auto, it saved my job and ultimately my family.

Jon K[redacted] greeted us, was very informed, extremely helpful and listened to our interests and needs. Working with him was a great experience and we are recommending him and Wausau Auto to our friends and family.

I had the most amazing experience at 199 ride! Tommy is the best, at everything?? (everything)!!! Once you go wausau auto, you never go back to anywhere else!!

"Applecars LLC" (or Wausau Auto) has sold me a 2009 Ford Ranger. It has cupped tires,a rusty spot in the Muffler and a missing plate holder in the front, missing plate LIGHT in the rear, dents, chipped paint and paint from Gas or road worker ALL OVER the bed in the back, but what gets me is their lack of concern over my constant requests to CALL me BACK and resolve things...I basically had to beg them to do business with me and turning in my used vehicle was like throwing it away at the expense of costs for purchasing their used headache truck I got from them in Appleton,WI. I've called their call center in Wausau and been given verbal dismissals,as well as the dealership in Appleton and the sales rep missed returning all my calls as well as never tried to live up to getting my old stereo out of my car to replace factory issued radio installed,I've had to remove a crappy metal desk installed post market from the interior due to rattling, practically force them into doing safety or road legal repairs which should have been done BEFORE the sale as well as am currently returning to get them to live up to looking into and resolving vibration issues as well as shifting troubles experienced on the truck. I am paying top dollar for a truck that looks like some kids went nuts playing in and it wasn't even properly cleaned before sold much less the shoddy legal review on the window sticker details/info.
I didn't get as much as I'd hoped and listed for my used Dodge which had new tires and exhaust yet I was told it was doubtful another owner would buy it yet I listed it on carguru.com and it received MANY interests and inquiries over.
Now I am fighting to discover WHY it still does not shift properly at times as well as vibration every time I start out from a stop sign.
They had Auto select in Appleton look it over and dismiss issues as "cupped tires" and never said a word on shifting issues OR vibrations other than tires. "Applecars" rep Kevin tells me they won't pay to repair anything that isn't a road legal matter and I have a leaky window seal on drivers side and I had to fix the bed capper / cover door which had been broke-free of it's hinges by previous leasers of the truck.I am going to dispute this issue of no capper keys and no stereo remanding from previous vehicle if it doesn't get resolved soon as well as possible transmission problems.

Great group of people working at Wausau Auto. Worked with Ryan on vehicles for my family great service and an all good experience. Would recommend to friends and family and anyone looking for a car.

I had no expectations going to wausau auto. I have no credit wherever I went, thats what they told me. But [redacted] was dead on right when he first asked me at Kwik Trip to come on. Im driving a 2014 Cadillac ATS and I cant be more thankful. Thank you sooo much guys for making me realize dreams are possible. Thank you for everything youve done for me Geio! My family and I are truly greatful and a lifelong client to you.

My old car was giving me trouble. I wasn't in a good situation financially at the time went to the wausau location and worked with salesman John [redacted] he was able to get me a great car at a price I could afford.

Fast fair and easy. Worked with [redacted] and he finally got me into a decent ride. Was a little weary at first, but this experience was definitely positive in every outlook.

I bought a Ford Expedition from Wausau auto. When I first went there I wasn't sure what to expect, but the salesman, [redacted] was extremely helpful through the whole process. They have a customer for life.

[redacted] was gret! He worked very hard to get us a new vehicle. Everyone at Wausau Auto was extremely helpful and their customer service was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone and we will be coming back for all our vehicles.

We worked with Tommy. He was a great salesman. Went out of his way to get us exactly what we wanted. Made buying a new car a great experience.

Thank you Wausau Auto! Geio worked with us for 2 days straight trying to get us financed. We have had a rough time with credit and he acknowledged that before we even started and kept my hopes up all the way to the end. As Geio numerous times said, where we got turned away everywhere else, he took care of me and my wife and get us our new vehicle. Thank you Geio and 199ride!

I bought my last car from Wausau Auto and had a very positive experience. Cole was very personable and helpful even after the sale. I would return again.

When I first was helping my mom find a car we were leary about going to Wausau Auto because of all the bad reviews. Which I have recently realized were just people that went in there with an attitude, and demanding to get their way. When my mom and I went there just to look around the lot, Ryan helped us out immediately. When she got her car, and the engine light came on they went above and beyond to make sure her car was running, and fixed the way it should have been. I finally decided to get myself a car, and wouldn't have went with anyone other than Ryan at Wausau Auto! He goes above and beyond to make sure his clients are very well taken care of, and if he can get you a vehicle he will!

Review: My son needed me to be a cosigner for an auto loan thru an auto dealer. To be a cosigner they needed to pull my credit score. I told the company rep "Geo" that I was concerned about pulling my credit would hurt my credit score. Geo looked right at me and said he was going through financial classes for the company stating "Believe me, I know, it is a soft inquiry. I was hit with 9 hard inquiries. And my score has gone from 698 down to 640. Now I can't even open a checking account at any bank.Desired Settlement: That my transunion experian and equifax credit scores be resored

Response:

After further review, customer agreed to cosign for her son and understood that we only looked at her credit information once. All other inquires are from us submitting her and her son off to see what available financing there was for them that customer agreed to. Please consider this matter closed.

Customer service with tommy was awesome loving my new corrolla

Review: I purchased a vehicle from them yesterday(3-18-2014) after driving home with it in the snow did not like the vehicle. The vehicle is front wheel drive but decided I should go with a 4 x 4 or all wheel drive. I drive snowy winter roads a lot and this vehicle just did not handle very well. So I called and told them[redacted]) that I did not like the vehicle after I got home and wanted to do something different. I have on a business card from them that "Sometimes you love a car when you drive it off the lot but then something happens. Maybe the seat just isn't right or your neighbor buys a car in the exact color. .. with most dealers you're stuck. I don't like to leave my friends hi and dry so I created my "Love it or Exchange it Guarantee" It's simple. if you don't love your car after you drive it home...come back and we'll find one you do love." With that being said I called because I am an hour away and wanted to get the ball rolling before I got there. But when I called [redacted] told me my paperwork was already sent his hands were tired. I said what about your Guarantee of "Love it or exchange it Guarantee"? I even called before the 24 hours after purchasing the vehicle. All he kept saying is my hands are tired because your paperwork was sent off. I told him again what about your guarantee? He just kept on out of my hands. No sorry, no nothing. He finally hung up on me because well I was upset because of not understanding the guarantee when you have and then do not honor it and not saying much because what do you say when your upset and get treated like that. He([redacted]) was very rude and disrespectful on the whole situation.Desired Settlement: I was after a vehicle that would better meet my needs and winter driving. I am not sure about going back to this place because of the way they handled it to begin with. I do not want to go back and get looked at "oh that's the lady that turned us in" but the way that they run their business with that guarantee is wrong if they are not going to follow through on it. Please help me..

Review: VERY disappointed with their sales staff/practices. Their salesman "[redacted]" showed me ONE car...A USED 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI for a WHOPPING $26,XXX. Now, a BRAND SPANKING new Jetta TDI from Volkswagen stickers for $23,195. I understand their 50,000mile USED 2011 Jetta had more options than a new base model. However, options doesn't take miles off a car. Where did they come up with their prices!? Now, if I was dumb and didn't do any research, that USED 2011 Jetta could of been mine with a $8,000 down payment! $199 down? $199/month? Yea right! Now I know their $199 deals are limited, and probably wouldn't include my Jetta TDI choice, which was fine. But I'm not paying $3,000 more for a USED 2011 model. That just does not make any sense. How about maybe show me something in my price range? Or hey! Ask questions maybe? My whole experienced lasted maybe 10 minutes, but that was enough for "[redacted]" to leave me with a horrible impression of this business. I shouldn't have to walk the man through the sale, he needs to ask questions. I took time out of my day off to drive an hour to this "meeting". Which, for what [redacted] did, could of been done over the phone. Not a personable man. After [redacted]'s shortness with me, I was done wasting my own day off. An "experienced" salesman would have actually worked a little bit to find a car that would work for me. Which is why I gave a broad selection of options (several makes and models of cars) I was interested in. He shows me one car, and then says "well sorry my man", when I questioned him on his numbers. I guess my question is, why couldn't [redacted] find something that would work for me? Or give me any finance information? They claim to be able to finance anyone, which is true to some degree.... They'll just require you to put down 50% of the car's "price" and finance you the rest. I knew I would have to put down more than their "$199 down!!" but this "[redacted]" only showed me ONE vehicle, and there was no way I'm putting $8,000 down on a car I can buy new for cheaper. They lured me in with their guarantees and promises of financing ANYONE! Then showed me one car, and kicked me out the door after I questioned their numbers. I tried contacting the business via EMAIL with my concerns, but wouldn't you know it? No response. I bet if I was interested in buying a car, they would of already called and emailed me back numerous times!Desired Settlement: I would like someone of higher authority to contact me so we can discuss possibly purchasing a vehicle. I do not want their D sales team to contact me, especially "[redacted]". I would like an EXPERIENCED salesman that knows how to have some dialogue throughout the sale (I.E. Ask questions).

Business

Response:

I will have someone higher up than the salesmen he worked with Contact him.

This company is shell game they care more about selling a car and getting the commission from it rather then actually doing the right thing or being decent. Their ads are a lure to get hard working people to spend way more money then they can afford and I would guess be right there to reposses the car to sell it again.

great experience here working with cole. thanks cole
