In approximately 2011, I decided to attend Penn Foster collegeI signed up for a Website Design certification course, and within a couple of weeks of starting the course, I realized that I was unable to afford it and was not finding the course to be beneficialI called to cancel and it was agreed upon that I would be able to no longer have to worry about paying for the course because it was so early in the "semester." Recently, I have decided to start working on student loans from attending a local, state college, and obtaining a degree, so I wanted to check my credit report to see what my credit situation looked likeAfter looking at this, I now see a balance of over $1090, which is an excessive amount more than the program ever even cost! Not only this, but I now have multiple reports from different debt collectors Between the two different debt collectors reporting open accounts, it shows that I owe Penn Foster over $
Penn Foster sent an account to collections, *** *** ***, stating that I owed them $for a Medical Billing and Coding program I have an email from Penn Foster stating that I only owed $and not $ The school never contacted me to tell me they were sending this account to collections The classes are self-taughtYou take multiple choice tests online Which you can repeat if you first fail them Penn Foster does not place any effort any educating anyone through their mock education system If you need assistance you have to email someone, maybe a qualifed teacher who emails you back in a week, by that time you are late in your computerized assignments This is definitely not a quality education and the courses are not transferable and does not meet the state community college standards Time and money was basically wasted!
Basically I got enrolled at Penn Foster in and after starting I only got a chance to do lessons out of I called to cancel but they are stating that I didn't but one rep said she does see that I didPenn Foster sent my account to the collection agency with a balance of $433! I didn't even get a chance to finish ONE EXAM so why am I being charged? This company is a SCAM! The collection agency stated that I could call Penn Foster and they could adjust the balance so I gave them yet another call and upon calling Penn Foster they said that they couldn't do anything about it at this point because it is out of their hands & they hung up in my faceThe collection agency says otherwiseThis has brought my credit score down drastically and I feel like they are only out for moneyWhen it comes to taking money every agent is cooperative but when you're having a problem with the company you get ignored!
I have taken a medical transcription course late last year & was never told that I would never be able to find a jobSo after doing some research on my own, & found out it would be almost impossible to find a job, I decided that I had had a fairly good experience with Penn Foster & would take another courseThis time, Medical Coding & BillingI have been struggling with the course & have tried to reach out to the instructors, will no responseI've even called the school & that have told me that the instructors only work Monday-Friday 9-They do not make calls on the weekendsI am a mom, wife & I have a jobI do not have time during the week to do school work or have conversations with instructorsI was told that an instructor could email me on the weekendHow am I suppose to explain to an instructor via email that I having a difficult time with the course & I don't understand it & how are they suppose to help me via email? They are just try
This doesn't only involve customer service from Penn Foster itself but the testing software company that they utilize for their examinationsI had been taking my first exam in VETand my internet was accidentally shut offHowever, I was finished with my exam and had used the "save" button after each question within the exam software prior to my internet being shut offI called technical support of *** *** (the software company hosting the exam) and they refused to look into the issueThey continued to tell me that I would have to speak with Penn Foster in order for them to have accessWhen speaking with staff at Penn Foster, they stated that they hadn't received anything on their end with my examSo I was forced to take the exam again
I began taking the exam a second time, and during the exam Penn Foster's page threw an "Unhandled Exception Error" and again I was kicked out of my examI once again contacted the S*** *** technical support and they proce

I decided, in early 2015, to take part in the Penn Foster Vet Tech program online; I sent my transcripts from my institution by agreeing to allow Penn Foster to request themDue to the dissatisfactory of the program by being told information that these credits WILL "definitely transfer" to any other institution, I quickly found out that this was a lie upon inquiryWhen I attempted to file the 30-day cancellation paperwork I was still made to pay the full amount of $976.00+ in which I paid and cancelled the programNow, I am being sent a collection letter from a company by the name of USCB and upon the phone call with one of their representatives today, January 2017, it was agreed that this sounds like a fraudulent transaction in which someone is using my personal information to access the Bachelor's in Business programI have written proof from *** Community College, *** Technical College and my final college, *** University showing that I have been attending O

I started out this program with a goal of finishingBut I soon realized I don't have time for online school right now and that eventually going to real classes would be a better approach for meThis school is so slow in sending out your materials , they told me there was usually a 6-week waiting period between classes for my shipments to arrive..again, a complete waste of my time
and the the big reason is THEY ARE NOT ACCREDITED IN MY COUNTRY ( *** )
I contact them to cancelled my enrollment , they cancel my account but after days
Penn foster sent me a letter saying I owe $ and must pay
Penn Foster never sent me anything to start my course but they want my money. That is a scam in my opinion

Jaime D***, the Admissions Rep for Penn Foster College, suggested I notify the Executive staff of Penn Foster, my reasons for cancelling my enrollment with them Once you ask for info online, reps immediately contact you to sell you on their school Several reps call until you advise them you are working with a repI got her...Jaime D*** After less than hours, I requested to cancel my enrollment She was not helpful and confrontational during the enrollment process This behavior persuaded me to take my money elsewhere When contacting the school/her to cancel, you cannot get a response Won't even answer If you want better service, respect and just helpful customer service intelligence, pick another school as this person obviously portrays what you will get if you attend....trash!

I was double charged for my monthly payment I tried to make my payment online through their website, like I have done since day one Their system told me the charge was declined, but I knew the money were there in my account So I tried using ***, and the payment went through Today I find out that I was actually charged both times So their system lied to me when it said the charge was declined I contacted them, but all they wanted to do is argue with me instead of fixing the problem and issuing me a credit for the extra charge I would fire one of my employees if they argued with a client the way I was done today
I believed it was June/July that I purchased the dressing making course from Penn Foster I took three modules and decided it was not for me and asked to cancel class and requested a refund for remainder of course I was advised the only way I could get a refund was it would go back onto card I used Due to financial difficulty, I filed for bankruptcy which included the credit card I don't know the credit card or the senders address and was advised that

I do not appreciate her attitude nor her inability to perform her job
I contacted the school to let them know that I had surgery and that my recovery process had hindered me completing the course and that I would not be continuingI have received robot calls 8AM in the morning from the school, derogatory letters from the school finance department I emailed them and gave them the approximate date that I cancelled and who I spoke with I received a Derogatory letter from a gentleman name MrB*** demanding that I pay $in Jan I emailed him and stated I cancelled and that I dont owe $Then I got a Letter from Mark S*** in Feb and Chris E*** in March I stated that I didn't owe for what I didn't finishMy last payment was in July and I stated then I was not continuing Then they told me I owe $cancellation fee?
