Unexplainable Tripling/Quadrupling Electric
(0 stars) I’ve been renting through First Key homes since September ‘22, and they use YES for all utilities. The electric company AES is the electricity provider for my area, and my heat is electric. My bill for 10/11-11/8 was $187.43. 11/9-12/8 it jumped to $448.33. Fine, I’m aware it’s winter in indiana, so it tends to spike(even though the majority of the winter was very mild, even had days in the 60s where I had the heat completely off). 12/9-1/10, now its $606.49. 1/11-2/8, $549.96. I knew there was something up when it showed my usage for 1/11-2/8 to be higher than 12/9-1/10, but the bill was $56.53 less. I immediately reached out to FirstKey when I’d gotten the 12/9-1/10 bill, as it reflected that I’d used 11,745kwh as opposed to 7,153kwh for the 11/9-12/8, and 3,862kwh for the 10/11-11/8 bill. I informed firstkey that I’d made no significant changes that would’ve impacted my usage that drastically. They advised me to call YES, so I reached out to them and asked for copies of my billing statements from AES. They advised they had to do an escalation to have that team send me a bill copy. They only sent me the one for 11/9-12/8, but I saw that couldn’t reach out to AES directly for a reread because the bill is in the name of Cerberus Holdings. YES advised me that they don’t have the authority to request a reread, so reached back out to FirstKey to request for them to do so. This started in early February, and I still have yet to get a rerread. FirstKey sent out their own maintenance to check twice if I had any malfunctions in the home that would potentially cause my usage to spike so drastically. Neither maintenance agent was able to determine anything wrong on my end that would cause this. This company awful, you can’t get any direct answers for them being able to clearly just send you anything billing wise, and can’t even setup any direct arrangements with the utility company because YES is in control of everything. The agents at FirstKey have been trying to assist, but it’s been a constant back and forth between different departments. I’m frustrated, as this is my first rental experience in nearly a decade, and dealing with YES makes me never want to rent again. This is highway robbery, and I’m a single mom that has to budget for other bills and groceries, so I don’t have an additional 5-600 dollars a month to throw on electricity just because YES felt like altering my usage profile. I’m at my wits end with this.

Poor substitute for a business
How they are still in business is a good question. "F" ratings at the Better Business Bureau; law suits for fraudulent billing and overcharging; inability to provide a bill upon request when the billing cycle is from the 15th to the 15th. Wouldn't catch me hiring them!

Overcharging rip-off
Azalea garden apartment is useing this company and they are overcharging me and I will not test until I have them aduited because I live in a one bedroom apartment and always at work do t have washer and don’t use dishwasher and I have been in my apartment for almost 5 years and now my bill is 80. A month no they over charging it’s sad people have to steal things may be bad but to cheat customers and think you won’t get caught they got dominion power for overcharging people I am outraged you can file a complaint with bbb civil rights housing they will help you let’s get them Aduit how I go from 35.00 to 80.00 you can also contact the IRS ask them how to get the business EIN number and ask about having them Audited google it as well name your apartment complex

My astronomical bill
I live in Azalea Garden too and just saw my astronomical bill...I am in a 1bedroom apt...just me and I work 12 hr days so im not even home but my bill is almost $70. When we had Yardi my bill stayed at a steady 35.00/month. Azalea gardens needs to get rid of this utility management company.

Not accurate
I just moved in laurel park apartments 3 months ago. This company just started sending bills for water, sewer, trash. The first bill from 4/11/2020-5/14/2020 was 25.00 now 5/14/2020-6/16/2020 im charged double. I work alot an barley home so how can my bill go double, this does not add up. I tryed calling but the number to customer service was apartment that had no idea what YES energy was. This is not ok an I will further investigate.

Need Serious Investigation
Apt managemt claims apts individually metered. My usage varies greatly month to month (I've been keeping track) but metered usage stays almost the same-and the costs way too high. Scam going on somewhere-maybe between Apt Developers/Owners & YES Water

I moved into the Arlington Manor Apartments in Warren, 11-29-The apartment manager & staff appeared friendlyI was explained that the complex had their own "In House" utility company named "Yes Energy" for gas I've delt with this situation before and assumed there would be no problem Yes Energy however was located in Colorado SpringsThe first "Yes Energy" Bill was a little unexpected at $ Inquired with customer service who blamed the cause on below zero temperatures Altought I diagreed, I paid the balance in full, on time The following month the bill was $I notified customer service again & explained that I used extra care & caution with the thermostat this time to try making sure the upcoming bill would not be too highOnce again it was blamed on below zero temperaturesAlthough Distraught, I paid the bill in full & on timeNow my third bill that arrived the beginning of April was an astounding $Now I'm sure there has to be an issueCustomer service blames the cold temperatures again Have these practices investigated and/or find out: Why use an energy company from Colorado Springs, CO when this complex is operated in Michigan Why is Yes Energy Management comfortable with these unreasonable practices and how can they continue to do business like this with no penalties How can I continue to calculate higher heat costs when I turned my thermostat off after the recieving the first bill I'm currently going to court on this matter in a court located in Warren Michigan I broke my lease because I could not afford the incredibly high cost this company was charging plus $for rent all bills in my opinion were extremlel excessive and I'm hoping the Revdex.com can help resolve this matter by intervening and discovering a reasonable coost for the months in question

Now that YES knows the name and location of apartment complex where resident resides and for which YES provides billing services, we are in a better position to respond appropriately to resident request and concerns First, many of the residents who choose to use online payments at the YES website to make utility payments on behalf of the properties they reside at (remember, YES is a billing company for apartment and condo communities), and plans are already in place to make partial payments on the YES site an available option in the future By the way, the YES website is the ONLY payment option that does not allow for partial payments at this time Residents can always make partial payments by phone, by paying through their own bank's bill-pay system, or by mailing in a payment to YES.We further contend that complainant has more than sufficient time to pay her charges in any manner she chooses, since she lives in a complex in the city of Seattle, and Seattle city regulations mandate that due dates for third-party billers like YES must be no less than days AFTER the statement date, which is the date the new bills are generated for viewing on the YES site, or to be mailed by USPS to the resident's service address
