I have received no further communication on my first complaint. It was relayed to me that vanguard went against my wishes and disbursed money that was already held in my IRA account. This will of course have tax implications against me, and I stated specifically on the call that I did not want that...

to happen. I questioned why the first person did not review the call logs before calling me, but she seemed to just want to lecture me on how she thought I was wrong, when in fact vanguard had made the mistake.

My wife opened an account and put a substantial amount of funds into Vanguard. While trying to unlock her web access, she got on the phone and was asked if she gave permission for her husband to help her. My wife said yes and I worked with her to get her website access restored. The Vanguard rep then said we violated their rule of sharing any login information and blocked our account. Despite calling several times, my wife was told she could not access any of her funds without a notarized set of forms she had to mail in. This prevented any access to her funds during this time. They said there was no physical location in the country that existed where she could go to resolve this and it could only be done via the notarized forms by mail. One of the key improvements Vanguard could make is to clearly explain this policy in advance on their website login page. When this was suggested the Vanguard response was it is detailed in the link under terms of agreement when creating a website. They agreed though that hardly anyone ever reads that. I hope 1) this will alert others to the real potential to lose access to their funds for weeks or months and 2) that Vanguard will change how they clearly communicate this policy to clients.

I am rejecting this response because:I still have not received a check for my [redacted] hourly employee 401K plan#[redacted].  I received a phone call from a Manager named Matthew stating the check was sent to [redacted].  I had to remind Matthew that Vanguard sent me a letter stating that [redacted] returned that check to Vanguard.  I never gave Vanguard permission to attempt to resend the check. I made Vanguard aware via a letter to cancel the check that was returned to Vanguard from [redacted] & change it to a withdrawal made out to me [redacted].  I still have not received my money and this has been going on for over three months.  Vanguard needs to send my withdrawal check made out to me in order for this situation to be resolved.
