One morning my computer stopped bootingInitially, not sure what happenedAfter extensive efforts (including bringing to a family member who works IT), the conclusion was bad hard driveOh, btw, I had had on my To Do list "Backup data" for some time -- if I simply succumbed to the failure, I would have lost about years of stuff, mostly pictures of my kids which would have sucked to lose such a large window of memoriesMy (family) IT help said, yeah, the HD is bad, nothing really can be done
I asked a few other people I knew, and another friend (engineer) mentioned 300DataRecovery -- he said he had referred several customers to them with successI found their webpage, and liked their policy ($flat rate, nothing to lose if they can't get your data)OBTW, I had looked at other data recovery services, and I couldn't find any others that were under $Anyhow, it was sort of my hail mary -- I figured why not? I filled out the online form, pulled my hard drive, and shipped it to themSUSPENSEWell, about days later (after shipping) they very responsively sent me emails to inform of status at each step of receiving, investigating, and (within about days after receipt) successfully recovering all of my data! I can't tell you how happy I am to have it backNo other charges, as promised, and timely return shippingVery relieved and yes, people, BACK UP THAT DATA!!! (and if you don't, like me, consider 300DataRecovery as a savior!)

Sent an HDD to them for recovery clearly stating on the initial form that the HDD had been diagnosed by another recovery service as having bad headsI paid the NON_REFUNDABLE $open lid fee and it cost me another $for shipping to and fromOnly to have them turn around and tell me the heads are bad in the HDD and they can't recover my data
When I received the "BAD" HDD and the "GOOD" HDD back that I sent in to them the packaging was so bad that the drives were in the return box rattling around like a rock inside a big plastic cup
Not only did this outfit cost me $and weeks for NOTHINGThey also may have destroyed both the drive I need recovered as well as the drive I sent to them to use as a storage drive for my dataThey send an information sheet to you with packing instructions when you pay for their service that states to wrap the drive(s) in to inches of bubble wrap to prevent the drive from being loose inside the box during shippingThey themselves did not do this and may have cost me way more than $and weeks of my time!
I will NOT recommend Data Recovery to anyone! Terrible service!

My hard drive crashed and foolishly I had not backed it up in a long time. I thought all was lost. $300 Data recovery recovered over 99% of my files and kept me well informed along the way. The charges were just as stated $300 for the recovered files, plus $75 for a transfer drive (which is not my back-up drive) and $15 for return shipping. Happy Days!!

Upfront, reasonable pricing, and no surprises.
I was kept up-to-date throughout the process.

It was a Time Machine backup, and there was physical damage to the media, so they couldn't get all the data back.
They did, however, save me a lot of time and effort since I didn't have to recreate or find all the info that was on the drive.

I don't usually write reviews, but I thought I'd make an exception for these guys. My external hard drive had started screeching really loudly and the computer wasn't able to recognize it. I remember thinking that all of my pictures and videos were GONE. I had this sinking feeling and all I could feel was anger. Anger because how could I, an Information Techonology student, NOT BACKUP MY DRIVE! I looked around and sent my hard drive to a local recovery place. They said that their minimum charge was $900 and maximum was $1500. Then, somehow I stumbled upon these guys. Let me tell you, this is probably one of the only companies I've dealt with that respond within 24 hours. They were very organized and told me everything that they were doing. They were able to recover almost everything from my drive and I couldn't be more grateful. The charges were stated upfront so there weren't any hidden costs. This is still the cheaper recovery places out there, but I think it's their customer service that sets them apart.

I was devastated after my external hard drive containing all of my family photos failed and contacted $300 Data Recovery after a family recommendation. I could not be more impressed with the customer service that I received from $300 Data Recovery. They were in constant communication the entire time they worked on my case and were able to retrieve and transfer all of my data. I would 100% recommend this company.

I do data recovery myself when a hard drive is functional, but I do not deal with mechanical issues. I used $300 Data Recovery for a hard drive with a fried PCB and they had it working again. I know it took little effort on their behalf, but I wasn't going to attempt it. Their prices are also really low compared to other data recovery businesses or experts. I highly recommend them!

I highly recommend this company for hard drive data recovery.

They have a very methodical procedure in place to determine the chances of recovery beforehand (the statistical analysis was much appreciated), to submit a ticket and the hard drive, and to maintain excellent work in progress communication. They were able to recover 99.999% of my data, but even if it were less I would give them the same rating (It's not their fault if a drive is damaged beyond repair).

All of their terms are made very clear on their website as well as through email communication. Customer responses are necessary at various points in the process before work can continue. Before submitting payment, a complete folder/file listing is given for review to determine if the relevant data have been found. I really appreciate being kept in the loop.

The few negative reviews that I found seemed to be unfounded, and were the result of customers not reading the terms.

The defective hard drive and target hard drive were both packaged very well, received in working condition, and shipped at the promised time. They also didn't forget to ship the target drive power supply back to me.

My house flooded in 2016, and along with it my hard drive (and TWO backup drives). I priced Best Buy ($1700) and a few local shops here in Baton Rouge, but when I saw the prices I gave up until a year and a half later, when I decided I really needed the photos I'd been adding to my computer since I was around 15. After a long period of searching, I decided to give 300DDR a shot. They said I had a 1 in 4 chance of getting back 99% of the data, and a 1 in 3 chance of getting over 50%. I figured 33% was better than 0%, so went ahead with the fix. They got back something like 99.9999%. I was expecting the worst, and I'm extremely, extremely pleased with how it worked out. I'm also extremely pleased with the price of the repair - it was a LOT less than everybody else I spoke with in person (and chatted with online) was prepared to charge. I was also one of the people who thought these reviews left by customers might be staged, but after my experience I can now see why they're all so glowing. Great communication, very fast turnaround, and my photos are all saved... simply awesome. I can't praise 300DDR enough.

Everyone knows that when your hard drive crashes, it feels like you've lost half of your life. Well, it feels that way because it's true. My hard drive just stopped working one day without warning. Of course, I had systematically failed to do a backup. I needed to find somewhere that was going to be able to recover my data without costing my entire retirement savings. After one try that was just too expensive, I was referred to $300 Data Recovery in California. I went on line and was impressed with their presentation. I filled out the forms they requested so that they could provide a guesstimate of what it might cost. Parenthetically, the form was simple and straightforward and didn't require a Ph.D. in computerese. I emailed the form from their site and had an almost immediate response from their staff. Throughout my dealings with $300, they have been amazingly quick and responsive to my questions and concerns. They offered full explanations of what they would try to do and made no false promises. Their pricing seemed fair and not exorbitant and I was updated every step of the way. I always had the option of declining service if I felt I didn't want to proceed an incur additional costs. As it turns out, they had to acquire a donor drive in order to complete my recovery. It added cost but I never felt as if I were being taken advantage of. They had to do more work and it took more time because special procedures were required. The happy ending of the story is that I'm getting my life back. $300 was able to recover 99% of my data. They made a difficult situation as easy as possible and I would recommend them to anyone who found him or herself in similar circumstances.
