Poor sales practices, customer service, and faulty equipment My issues began with the first sales person I worked with and I should have known then to not trust Protection OneThe sales manager and his trainee were unprofessional and out of line, starting discussions about how much money I'd lose if I tried to sell my houseThey even complained to me after my purchase because they didn't make enough commission on my sale, admitting their commission check was only $after taxesThe installer was at my home for hours and left with it not completed because he couldn't figure out why the testing was failingHe left with it not working and I had to wait on another installer to finish the jobImmediately I had issues with alarms and the system and sensors not workingAnother technician was sent out who switched my sensor from the nicer camera sensor to their standard motion sensor (so a downgrade in equipment) claiming that would solve the problemThis was one year ago

Horrible - I had a broken ankle so I could not see what "***" from ADT was doingEvery door/window was done VERY SLOPPYDId not clean latex from the old security systemDid not take all old security sensors offPut new sensors where ever was the least amount of work for him - no matter how it looksSensors on windows are not all put in correct place and go off during thunder stormsADT corporate will not help They think that the pictures of the horrible work that I include are "acceptable"If you want your windows and doors to look as horrible as ours, then go with ADTRather than make a customer happy over a legitimate issue, they instead [redacted] of the customer so much that writing bad reviews on the internet is the only recourse Once you provide a negative review on the internet, they send a "canned message" saying that they care and to email them Once you do, a local representative [redacted] leaves message to call so that we can resolve the issue I call and call and call but he never returns any calls That is how ADT does customer service

November 2017, I signed up for a 3yr contract with ADT home security June 1, I moved and had my account transferred to my new address and paid the transfer fee of $ I have paid my bill early each month and have not missed a paymentI have been harassed with telephone calls since June to collect on my old account from my old address, which was supposed to be transferredI have talked with ADT's third party billing company Defenders (Protect Your Home) and they apologized and promised that I would not get another callI have received a few calls from a collection agency and today a bill in the mail from the collection agency for $1,DO NOT USE ADT GO WITH A MORE REPUTABLE COMPANY

They are liarsWhile talking to them on the phone ADT agreed to do somethingthen when you call them backThey don't know what they agreed to do This company shut my service off for a year when I made regular payments for my serviceI was arming my system everyday without serviceThey had to refund me a year worth of payments because they mistakenly cut my service offThey cut my service off For the second timeThis time for five months and now they refuse to give me my money back for the service I did not have for monthsThey insist on giving me credit for future paymentshowever, I want a refund for the service I did not receiveEven after spending hours on the phone with ADTthey finally agreed to give me my money backI called to check on my refund and Tammy #XXXXX informed me that I am getting credit instead of a refundAfter spending all those hours on the phone I was back to square one againThey refuse to refund me for my over payments even when they agreed

After many years of being an ADT customer I called on 6/20/17 to cancel my service at my address located at [redacted] XXXXX. After ten to fifteen minutes of relentless sales pitches trying to get me to remain a customer, I was finally told that a 30 day notice was required and that I would be billed for another month even though my service was disconnected. I was charged for that month. On 7/20 I was charged $28.99 again for another month and when I called I was told that the cancellation order never went through. They have refused to refund the erroneous charge and their customer service reps are very rude. Product_Or_Service: Alarm System

Hi I recently got ADT home Security installed and Im very disappointed in the rates they charge when they instal they tell you one thing and then when you get your bill its a whole otherI contacted ADT wanting to cancel my service beacuse I cant afford the hogh monthly payment and they informed me that I would have to pay the balance of the year contract to get outWhich if the my math is right is about $which I wouldnt be able to affordThey said that I had days after instal to cancel and because I didnt cancel then the balance of the contract was dueMy intention when I called was to cancel because I cant afford $a month but instead of giving me options ADT just told me I was in the contract and the balance would be dueIf I were to do this all over agian I would have never chose ADTThey are a monopoly unfortunately and the other options for security systems a slime and they know thatThats how they get you

Adt is saying that we signed a contract in April which we did not We moved into our home in and decided since we are unfamiliar with the area to have an alarm systemWe signed up for years and now we know the neighborhood and wish to turn off the alarm since we are on a fixed incomeWe called adt to cancel and they are saying that my husband signed a new contract in AprilThis is impossible because he doesn't talk to anyone and I handle all the bills and accountsWhen we told them that he wouldn't have signed for anything they changed their story saying that I signedWe have wished to turn this alarm off for over year now therefore we nevertheless would have signed a new contract

***AVOID ADT, MANY BETTER OPTIONS AVAILABLE [redacted] I was an ADT customer in 2015, needed the service for one yearI no longer needed the services but could not get out of the contract I still paid until the end of the year contract because I always pay my debt obligations I now need a home security system for my new home and want professional installationCalled ADT, rep said I have "tons of moving credits, the system itself won't cost you anything"Fast forward days and the technician comes to our house, tells us that the set up for basic services (door and window sensors only, no camera) would be $with $due todayMonitoring was quoted at $50/month plus fees at this time Frustrated, I called to speak with the original ADT repThey said "the technician misquoted you, you have $in moving credits so you will pay $for the installYour monthly monitoring fee will be $40"I said I wanted to think about it and wrote down the numbers, the rep said "you keep thinking about it, you will keep chasing your tail and getting different prices"This is the problem the different pricesThe company just makes up numbers based on how nice your house looks or what kind of car is in your drivewayThis whole company is a giant scamThe service does not workPower outages are supposed to trigger support/call to be sure a home intrusion didn't take place, and this did not occur when I was using the service regularly in

DO NOT USE ADT!! Have been an ADT customer for one year when I made the mistake of upgrading to install camerasHas been one problem after anotherStarting with installation which took three attempts and then the cameras would not record properly Another three attempts to correct recording issue, with everyone from techs to customer service giving you a different reason for the failureMeanwhile , account is on auto pay and they keep charging the same amount for cameras and installation over and over and I have to keep calling to get amount refundedOn my Last nerve I called to cancel service and have cameras removed and was charged again!! Wish I would have researched ADT better Their customer service is ridiculous Cannot get a straight answer from anyone DO NOT USE ADT!!

After my contract expired, ADT continued to charge my account (at a reduced rate) and their policy is to require customers to contact them regarding termination of servicesEven then, they require days notice before terminationAll this without having approval or a binding contract from the client to continue servicesWho protects people from the protection companies?

ADT has been calling me from multiple numbers multiple times a day for an upgrade.I told them to please stop the calls; I am in and out of town and will get it done as I can I got a text message from a representative on 12/telling me my service would stop on 12/without the upgradeI could not have it installed in that time period and I was just walking in the door that day, and already frustrated with themI said, well, I guess it stops working, then? The representative rudely replied telling me to call and cancel if I did not want the alarm They apparently showed up at my door unannounced on 12/anywayI complained on the company Facebook page about these matters, and the company responded by deleting my post and blocking me from the pageNow, I was not rude, not profane or even belligerent in any wayI noticed some other posts from upset customers I'd seen previously missing too What kind of company treats its customers in this manner? I have never seen such crassness and cowardice and unprofessionalism in my lifeThankfully, I am not under contractI have ordered service from a new company I am done with ADT and I will never recommend them to anyoneI will steer anyone else I know looking into a home security company away from them The lack of professionalism they have displayed in their dealings with me defies belief.I have never been treated in this manner by any company, and I'm certainly not going to tolerate it any further Now, after I took my business elsewhere, ADT now is calling asking me to come back Firstly, ADT, had you addressed my concerns in the first place, maybe I would not have moved my business to another company Secondly, the issues I brought to your attention remain as they wereCompletely unacceptable Thirdly, I just saw a video where you have lawsuits against you because of your pitiful response timeYou've become a fat, lazy, complacent company It's only a matter of time before your competitors put you out of business.Considering my experience with you, you deserve it

Buyer beware - they came to our place of business and had a staff member sign an agreement without disclosing the termsThey said that was standard in their businessTheir terms were a three year contract with a $1,penalty - when we tried to cancel the services, they acted like the bullies they think they are - would not recommend under any circumstance

Good Afternoon, It is with extreme disappointment that I send this email requesting immediate cancellation of serviceMy service was installed less than an hour ago and I must say that the Technician sent to install was horribleWhen I agreed to the service, I was told that I would receive items that were not provided at the time of installThe technician also informed my husband that he would not mount the keypad due to there being a $mounting fee??? Unfortunately I was in a meeting at work during the install and therefore limited in what could be done to resolve this matter My husband then offered to pay the $fee, and the technician told him he was unable to do it after all because he had another job in Bolingbrook and did not have the hardware either wayThe keypad was left on my floor, pictures below There was also an authorized charge to my credit cardI called the Corporate Office, to voice my concern and was told there was nothing that can be done I am writing as I was told a email had to be sent in order to cancelPlease accept this as my formal notice of cancellation notice This is by far the worse experience I have encountered as a consumerBased on this experience, I would not recommend ADT Companies to anyone, EVER If you have any additional questions or if additional information is required, please don't hesitate to call Signed: Annoyed Customer

Had them since The only time I ever heard from them was to make sure I updated my credit card and to let me know an alarm was going off Police never came to investigate, nothingThey also installed different alarms, pushing me away from glass breaking sensors, instead going for your typical door alarm To get into my house they would have to break the windows The final indignation? I call to cancel and they tell me I have to give them days to remove my account They can start it up in day but I have to pay them for an extra month of this crappy serviceGet me one last time before I'm out the door Real classy Stay away from them All you are paying for is a service to let you know you are getting broken into when you aren't home and to make sure you make your payments ugh

ADT Pulse installed 7/25/2017.Service not working accurately.Called our tech and ADT last night.WE have been given no help and runaround ALL day! ADT Pulse was contracted approximately 7/20/2017 with Jacob [redacted] and installed 7/25/2017. Customer# XXXXXXXXX. Security cameras #2 and #3 are continually offline. Camera #3 night vision is not working properly. Our tech also alerted us to one shock sensor not working. WE called the X XXX XXX XXXX right away and our tech to rectify the cameras situation. Cameras #2 and #3 came back online but then continued to be offline. Camera #3 still had little to no night vision. Since 8:30 am my husband and I have been on the phone. We reached out to our tech who couldn't come today and fix our issues. I have spoken to Sherice, Cory, (who stated we would have to wait 48 hours for help), Lateria (who just cold transferred me) Kim and finally George a manager. George who was apologetic stated Cory should have given us a work order and he provided it

My account is not accurateI have made many many calls to remedy this! I became a customer in Moved a year later for it to be transferredUpon moving they tried to pin the previous tenants account on meI offered all forms of ID to fix itThis was supposedly remedied but its notI have spent hours on the phoneSpoken with many people, emails, and even facebookThis still isn't resolvedI have found my contractAt this time I want this remedied NOW or I want legally relieved from my contractI am done paying someone elses bill

After cancelling my service and letting them know I had not lived at the address where I had been paying for their services for 1/years after moving to another state I was not told that I would have to pay a cancellation fee or asked for my current address They sent two bills and a letter to the old address Calling ADT after the people now living in the houses mailed the bills to me I was informed that my account had been sent to a collection agency Now the remarkable part - the collection agency had absolutely no trouble locating my current address and sending me the final billing Their billing department doesn't try to help the customer at all In the words of my grandchildren they suck!!! It seems to me that they could have told me there was a fee involved and asked me for my current address The collection agency certainly found me I was not hiding from anyone My experience with this company from the sales person and the page contract to their billing department has been stressful and upsetting I WILL NOT recommend this company to anyone Avoid them at all costs

Since becoming an ADT customer roughly years ago, I have found it difficult - almost impossible - to contact the company regarding changing billing information/methods, servicing my equipment, and now cancelling my accountI closed my business iCenter, Inceffective July 31, and began attempting to cancel my account with ADT on July 25, After speaking with different ADT representitives at their published XXX-XXX-XXXX customer service number, and being told by the first two that my account would be cancelled effective August 1, 2018, the third representative told me this morning that I needed to call a different number (XXX-XXX-XXXX) if I wanted to cancel my account, and that the previous two representatives should have told me thatThe third representative also told me (today) that there was no record of my previous two callsI just want my account cancelled and closed effective August 1, Product_Or_Service: ADT Security Services Account_Number: XXXXXXXXX
