The billing address associated with the account is ** *** *** *** ** McKeesport, PA 15132, which is the same address the consumer listed on the complaint, and the phone numbers are*** and *** Afni mailed the initial notice of the account to the consumer on September 15, On October 30th, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account. Between November 16, and May 12, 2017, Afni received multiple disputes from the credit reporting agencies, reviewed all relevant information, and responded appropriately. On November 20, 2016, Afni updated the credit reporting agencies on the disputed status of the account. On March 2, 2017, the consumer called an Afni representative to dispute the account; however the call became disconnected. In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation. As a result of the investigation, Afni reached out to SprintAfni mailed a verification letter to ** *** *** *** ** McKeesport, PA on March 8th. On May 15th, Afni received a letter from the consumer disputing the account. In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated another investigation. On June 6, 2017, Afni received this complaint. In response, Afni continued to cease communication and continued the investigation. Afni has attached copies of the account billing statements to this response; these are provided as validation of the account. To address the consumer’s concerns, the account has not been purchased by Afni. Afni received the account from *** and acts as an agent on behalf of Sprint; therefore the consumer would not have a contract with Afni. As a courtesy to the consumer, on June 11th, Afni sent a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report. However, this does not mean that the account is not due and owing, simply that Afni will no longer furnish the account to the credit reporting agencies. On May 30, 2017, Sprint forwarded the account, Sprint account #: ***, Afni, Incaccount #: ***, with Afni for collections on the balance of $The account is for cellular services established on February 1, 2016, until Sprint considered the balance delinquent on April 22, 2016. The billing address associated with the account is *** *** ***, La Marque, TX 77568, which is the same address the consumer listed on the complaint, and the phone number is ***. Afni mailed the initial notice of the account to the consumer on June 2, 2017. On July 16th, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account. On July 21st, Afni received a dispute from the credit reporting agencies; while Afni has not responded yet, Afni will respond appropriately. On July 23rd, Afni updated the credit reporting agencies on the disputed status of the accountOn July 24, 2017, Afni received this complaint. Afni has had no communication with the consumer until receiving this complaint. In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation. Afni has attached copies of the account billing statements to this response for the consumer’s reference. On July 25th, Afni received two disputes from the credit reporting agencies; while Afni has not responded yet, Afni will respond appropriatelyOn July 31st, Afni responded to the consumer’s original complaint with validation and payment history. To address the consumer’s concerns, the account has not been purchased by Afni. Afni received the account from Sprint and acts as an agent on behalf of Sprint; therefore, the consumer would not have a contract with Afni. The last payments made on this account were on March 5, 2016, in the amount of $and on March 19, in the amount of $80.00. There was a failed payment on this account on April 16, in the amount of $119.32, with credit/debit card ending in ***, bringing the unpaid balance to $785.57. To address the consumer’s concern regarding the rejection to the original response, Afni has updated the account as identity theft as the consumer is claiming no knowledge of the account. Additionally, Afni has attached identity theft information for completion by the consumer. The consumer should fill out this information and return it to Sprint Fraud Management, OCA Dispute, KSOPHE0202-2C516, Sprint Parkway, Overland Park, KS The consumer may also contact Sprint Fraud directly if he would like to discuss the account further at 888-788-Afni will no longer contact the consumer about this account

On January 9, 2017, Afni received a letter from the consumer stating she was disputing the account. In response, Afni ceased communication, initiated an investigation and sent the dispute to *** for review On January 31, 2017, Afni received this complaintIn response, Afni continued to cease communication and investigate. That same day, *** requested Afni to cease collections and return the account. Afni has not, and will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agenciesTo address the consumer’s concern, Afni was not notified of any payments on the account while it was placed with AfniAfni is no longer handling the subject account. The consumer should contact *** directly if she would like to discuss the account further
I am rejecting this response because: If you have my correct address, I would have received communication via writing, I did notI remember getting a call in which I would not verify address because I did not know who I was speaking with and they would not verify to whom they were - As I tell every and did on that day to send me a letter - I NEVER got the letter. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act: The law: Within five days of initially contacting you, the collector must send written notice of the debt that includes:The amount of the debtThe name of the original creditor to whom the debt is owedA statement describing your right to dispute the debtAgain, I was NOT properly notified of this debt and this collection needs to be removed and the legal channels need to be followedI NEVER received communication from this third party debt collector
