The account is for services established on March 1, 2016, until [redacted] considered the account delinquent on May 10, 2016.  The billing address associated with the account is [redacted], and the phone number is [redacted].  Afni mailed the initial notice of the account on or about November 13, 2017.  On December 31, 2017, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account. On January 7, 2018, Afni received this complaint.  This was Afni’s first contact with the consumer.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation.  Afni has provided bill copies for the consumer's reference.  To address the consumer’s concern, the account was updated as identity theft as Ms. [redacted] denied knowledge of any service with [redacted].  A fraud packet is attached for Ms. [redacted]’s completion.  Afni encourages the consumer to return the Fraud Affidavit within 21 days to [redacted] for investigation.  The completed affidavit can be faxed to [redacted] at [redacted].  Additionally, [redacted] does not require a police report.  Placing a fraud alert with the credit reporting agencies is a suggestion and not required to investigate a fraud claim.  The consumer may also contact [redacted]'s Fraud Department at [redacted] if they have any questions regarding the fraud process.  Afni will send a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report.  Please be aware that it can take the credit reporting agencies up to 60 days to update consumer credit reports.  Afni has no control over how quickly the credit reporting agencies update consumer credit reports.  Afni trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions remain, or if she would like to discuss the account, she may contact a Regulatory Specialist at [redacted].

The account is from an accident which occurred on March 19, 2016. The details of the accident are that the consumer was driving a car which was involved in an accident and the consumer either was not covered by insurance or did not have insurance at the time of the accident. Afni mailed the initial notice of the account on May 5, 2016. On June 23, Afni received a letter from the consumer disputing the account.
On July 18, Afni received this complaint. In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation. That same day Afni received a letter from the consumer disputing the account. During the investigation Afni reached out to [redacted] for more information. [redacted] provided Afni with the name of the owner of the vehicle that the consumer was driving, [redacted] Afni is attempting to make contact with Mr. [redacted] regarding the accident. However, Afni is looking for assistance from Ms. [redacted], as Afni needs the insurance information. The consumer may contact a representative at XXX-XXX-XXXX.

I initially asked for a written statement from [redacted] that shows proof of the incident and the amount owed. Until I receive this information, we can not proceed. I need an official statement from the original consumer ([redacted]), not Afni. I will not speak to a business that does not know the whereabouts of the incident.

The account for cellular phone services was established on February 28, 2012, until AT&T Mobility considered the account delinquent on April 22, 2012.  The billing address associated with the account is [redacted], Rochester, NY 14621 and the phone numbers are [redacted] and [redacted].  Afni mailed the initial notice of the account on January 23, 2017.  Afni has not, and will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agencies.  On January 23rd, the consumer spoke to an Afni representative and stated the account was fraudulent. In response, on January 26th, Afni mailed the consumer a fraud packet for completion and ceased communication. On February 7th, Afni received a letter from the consumer disputing the account.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation.  On March 1, 2017, AT&T Mobility requested Afni to cease collections and return the account.  On May 29, 2017, Afni received this complaint.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation.  Afni has provided bill copies for the consumer's reference.  To address the consumer’s concern, Afni has not, and will not furnish the subject account to the credit reporting agencies.  Afni has no other accounts for this consumer.  Afni is no longer the collection agency handling the subject account.  Further questions regarding the account should be directed to AT&T Mobility.

The account is for services established on July 1, 2013, until AT&T considered the balance delinquent on April 17, 2015.  The billing address associated with the account is [redacted] GA 31404, which is the same address the consumer listed on the complaint, and the phone number is [redacted].  Afni mailed the initial notice of the account to the consumer on September 11, 2016.  On October 30, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account.  On February 28, 2017, the consumer spoke to an Afni representative. The Afni representative was able to confirm that he was speaking with the consumer; however, the call disconnected just after verifying the account.  Between March 8 and May 1, Afni received multiple disputes from the credit reporting agencies, reviewed all relevant information, and responded appropriately.  On June 23, 2017, Afni received this complaint.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation.  Afni has attached copies of the account billing statements to this response; these are provided as validation of the account.  To address the consumer’s concerns, the account has not been purchased by Afni.  Afni received the account from AT&T and acts as an agent on behalf of AT&T; therefore the consumer would not have a contract with Afni.  As a courtesy to the consumer, on June 25, Afni sent a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report.  On June 26, Afni received another dispute from the credit reporting agencies; while Afni has not responded yet, Afni will respond appropriately.  However, this does not mean that the account is not due and owing, simply that Afni will no longer furnish the account to the credit reporting agencies.  Afni trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions remain, or if she would like to discuss the account, she may contact a Regulatory Specialist at (877) 859-8783.

In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation.   On November 10, Afni received this complaint. In response, Afni continued to cease communication and continued the investigation. Later that same day, the consumer spoke to an Afni representative. Afni has attached bill copies from the account, for the consumer’s reference. Afni has made the business decision to cease collection activities on the account and return the account to [redacted]. To address the consumer’s concern, Afni has not and will not furnish the account to the credit reporting agencies. To address the consumer’s concern regarding the representatives he spoke to, Afni apologizes for any inconvenience that caused the consumer. The consumer should contact [redacted] directly if they should like to discuss the account further.

The account is for services established on August 22, 2015, until Directv considered the account delinquent on February 28, 2016.The billing address associated with the account is [redacted] Apt 6 [redacted], Louisiana 70791. Afni mailed the initial notice of the account on May 29, 2016. On July 3, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account.   On November 25, Afni received this complaint. This was Afni’s first contact with the consumer. In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation. During the investigation Afni reached out to Directv for more information. Directv provided Afni with the signed agreement from service, billing ledger, and information, which are attached as validation. To address the consumer’s concern, the account is not for services with Afni, the account is for services with Directv. Afni does not own the account, and is simply working the account on behalf of Directv. Afni will continue to cease communication on the account. The account is for services established on March 1, 2016, until [redacted] considered the account delinquent on May 10, 2016.  The billing address associated with the account is [redacted], and the phone number is [redacted].  Afni mailed the initial notice of the account on or about November 13, 2017.  On December 31, 2017, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account.  Afni has responded to the consumer’s duplicate complaint filed through the Revdex.com on January 10th. On January 17, 2018, Afni received this Revdex.com rejection.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated another investigation.  To address the consumer’s concern, in Afni’s original response it was clearly stated that Afni would send a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report.  Afni has also attached the original response for the consumer’s reference.  As previously promised in the original response to the consumer, on January 14, 2018, Afni sent a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report.  Please be aware that it can take the credit reporting agencies up to 60 days to update consumer credit reports.  Afni has no control over how quickly the credit reporting agencies update consumer credit reports.  Afni trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me contingent upon it is REMOVED and DELETED from my credit reports immediately.

I am rejecting this response because: I feel that Agni and dish network are scamming consumers with their collection settlement offers. Afni had this account for over a year and only now that I sent dish network a check that they received 5days before they took the account back  I would like afni and dish network to have this dept removed my credit report.

The account is for services established on January 20, 2012, until [redacted] Communications considered the account delinquent on September 22, 2014.  The service address associated with the account is [redacted], Fort Eustis, VA 23604.  Afni attempted to mail the initial notice of the account to the consumer on or about January 25, 2018.  Afni received notice that the address was incorrect and did not receive an updated address.  On March 11, 2018, Afni furnished the credit reporting agencies with notice of the account.  On March 14, 2018, the consumer made a payment via Afni’s website in the amount of $181.97 to close the account as paid in full. On March 14, 2018, Afni received this complaint.  In response, Afni ceased communication and initiated an investigation. To address the consumer’s concern, Afni did mail the consumer an initial notice, but it was returned, as stated above.  Afni will send a request to the credit reporting agencies to remove the account from the consumer’s credit report.  Afni has included a credit deletion letter to assist the consumer with any financing he may be pursuing.  Please be aware that it can take the credit reporting agencies up to 60 days to update consumer credit reports.  Afni has no control over how quickly the credit reporting agencies update consumer credit reports.  However, this does not mean that the account is not due and owing, simply that Afni will no longer furnish the account to the credit reporting agencies.  Afni trusts this response has addressed the consumer’s concerns, but if questions remain, or if he would like to discuss the account, he may contact a Consumer Relations Specialist at (866) 716-1284.

On June 30, Afni received this complaint. In response, Afni continued to cease communication and continued the investigation.
