Review: I hired the company to provide the advertised services on May 4, 2014 between the hours of 8 AM to 10 AM. I was told I would receive a phone call on May 3 confirming the date and arrival of the movers to my home. I never received my phone call. I waited at my home between the promised hours on the agreed-upon date of services. The movers did not show. I received no phone call about estimated time of arrival, which I was promised. The business did not open up that day until 11 AM Central time. I left two messages on the business' voicemail prior to that time. At 12:00 Eastern-standard time, I began calling the business using each of the three numbers provided to me ([redacted]) multiple times. No one ever answered. I left a final voicemail expressing my disappointment at the treatment I'd received. I never received a reply or even a confirmation of my complaint. The next day, I used the account number given to me by the company to log onto their site [redacted]) and register a complaint. I have copied and pasted that form, below. The additional comments were, unfortunately, not saved. I have received no comment from the company in the form of email, phone call, or any other method of communication.

Dear [redacted],

Review: I file a claim with, ALL my Sons Moving and Storage for damage items during my move on February 11th 2014. The complaint involved a broken bed post, tape on entertainment furniture side that left a print that can not be removed and broken china. I never heard anything formal from this company. I called to check the status of the claim and was told the claim had been closed and no information could be given. There was no reason or explanation has to why the claim was denied. Pictures were sent to describe the damages as well as written complaint form provided by the Company. In all fairness someone from All My Sons should have at least reviewed the furniture for the damages and make a fair compensated amount for repairs.Desired Settlement: The bed is no good with a broken post as pictures describe the damage. Therefore a bed frame. This bedroom suit cost a lot when I purchased it therefore I know I may not be able to match the suit. Also this china had been in our family for almost 30 years which consist of great value to us. I would like a repair for my entertainment center. Also I would like to make a settlement with them to take care of these items.

Review: On 9/3/15, called for quick quote—2 men and a 26’ truck for 2 hours and provided a listing of furniture to be moved: freezer, 2 office chairs, 2 desks, 2 hutches, 2 wardrobes, dressing table, dresser, stereo, 1 TV, 2 bedside stands, 3 bookcases, and a few boxes. Ian confirmed for next morning; I corrected him. Justin promised courtesy call an hour in advance of arrival. Friday, 9/4/15 – received call from Steve asking me to re-schedule for 8:30am; told him no; he asked for sometime earlier than my confirmed time; I told him no. He told me to expect courtesy call half an hour in advance of arrival. Friday, 9/4/15-3 movers arrived at 12:35pm with no courtesy call; I was not home; husband was; when I arrived, I called Steve, who told me that the clock would not start running until 1pm. I confirmed same with driver. He agreed. He came in reviewed contract and mentioned that cash tips are appreciated but not to include on credit card payment because the company would ‘pocket it’; I signed and asked if he felt they could complete the job in 2 hours; he agreed that they could. He told me to just stand back and they would take care of everything. There was damage to property moved, movers did not work efficiently (two stood outside while one worked inside, were texting, leaning against truck, etc.); movers did not bring tools and asked to use ours; 3 hours was spent at the origination point; a higher dollar amount than agreed upon was demanded before truck pulled into driveway; we were told it would be taken to storage if amount demanded was not paid. I spoke on the phone with Steve several times apprising him of the movers' activities and the higher cost. Steve made two more adjustments to the price within a 5-minute period but was still higher than original price. We borrowed money to pay the difference; my husband attempted to report damages to Justin Stanbrook, who refused to discuss them. Wrote corporate and local office for copy of receipt/contract. No response made.Desired Settlement: We would like a billing adjustment, repair/replacement of damaged property, and their stated valuation policy adhered to. (I have a more detailed report that I can forward as well as photos of the damage caused to property.)

Review: On January 14, 2016 I solicited All My Sons to perform a moving service for a friend which involved moving 1 bedroom furniture, 60" TV on wheels, boxes, and garage items from Mechanicsville, VA to Colonial Heights, VA. By phone with [redacted] (Owner) I was quoted $365 low to $425 (3-4 hours) high depending on number of hours men work and one truck would be needed for the service. This was a one way trip only. My credit card was used to charge $50 has a reserve deposit for the move to take place on January 22, 2016. During the week of the planned service, a snow storm was schedule to arrive on January 22, 2016 so I received a phone call earlier that week stating they were moving up all work orders for that week in preparation for the upcoming storm. I informed the caller (Steve) that I may not be able to use their services if they could not deliver as schedule due to other circumstances involved in accessing the home where the items were to be delivered and I had no access yet to the home. I followed up with this on an email dated January 20, 2016. On Wednesday, January 20, 2016 I received a phone call that they would like to reschedule my move to Thursday, January 21, 2016 and in doing so, they would take off the fuel charge due to constantly changing the move schedule. I made calls and was able to make arrangements for these goods be delivered to the new home and someone could be there. On Thursday I received a phone call that they would not be able to deliver as planned due to their men had been up north and got in late from a prior work order. We then changed the plans to Friday, January 22, 2016 (original date) at 9am to pick up goods in Mechanicsville, VA. On January 22, 2016 I received a phone call (personal cell) at 6:42am but hung up because I thought it was an alarm and then my fiancée received a phone call and it was [redacted] from All My Sons stating the men would be at the Mechanicsville home at 7am. Since we were in one location (45 mins away) and the furniture was in another location, we had to call another person at 6:50 am to get them out of bed and open the house where the furniture was. Keep in mind this was to take place at 9am. The men picked up the furniture at old home and delivered to new home with no problem. The men were nice and professional. What I did notice is the inappropriate truck size used to pick up these goods. The truck size was twice as it should have been for the little of items that was picked up. The truck could not even be backed up to the door to take the furniture into the home which caused the two men walk 25 feet extra each time they brought in the goods, which trickles down to taking more time than necessary. If the appropriate truck had been used for this service, the men could have saved steps and time. The delivery would have taken an hour verses hour and half. I even asked [redacted] to send me an email verifying the quote which I never received. I only received a bill after payment was made. I feel I am entitled to a refund because (1) I was told $50 was a reserve, (2) I never received a written confirmation of verbal quoted price, (3) the company over used a truck size for the goods, and (4) the company was unprofessional in calling at 6:42am when scheduled just the day before that the goods would be picked up at 9am. This affected several people rearranging their schedule and waking them up prior than necessary. I found [redacted] unprofessional on the phone, did not send an email quote to support verbal quote, and when asked for a refund through email, he disregard my request with no reply or acknowledgement. I would not recommend this company nor ever use their service again. If they were going to change the pickup time from 9am to 7am, [redacted] should have called the night before if there were changes because I spoke with his employee Ian who set up the time as 9am. The $50 reserve was not deducted from the total bill at the end and that is why I am asking for a refund. I would appreciate the refund come to me in a check addressed:

Thank you in advance for your assistance on this matter.

[redacted]Desired Settlement: I wish a refund check be sent and payable to: [redacted]

Review: I called and recieved a price quote from this company. They quoted me 129 per hour for a 3 man crew. They never gave me an actually quote nor explain to me that they will be charging for gas and travel time. I gave them with a 50.00 deposit as well! I was told over the phone that someone will call me on Saturday to give me the correct time of arrival on Sunday. No one never called. I had to call them on sunday. When I spoke with a guy name Ian he said they had to do another stop and they was going to call me when they was on their way. They came to my house at 3. And ended at 4pm. They didnt even have the address to the storage place but the man "supposley" looked up the address while he gave me a quote. We arrived at the storage place appox 4:07. They didnt even finish unloading my belongings and they wrote on the order form end time 5:15pm. It only took an hour to load everything, why would it take another hour and fifthteen minutes to unload it in one storage unit. I asked them how should I pay they said my cashiers check money order or debit credit cards. I didnt have the funds in that amount because I tooked out the max at my bank. No one never told me what forms of payment they took. Thats horrible business. They said they wasnt going to take any of my belongings down until I paid in full! They ended up taking my furniture back to their storage unit and charged me and extra 75 for storage fee. My total came up to 689.00. My quote on the paper was 587.00 with the additional gas and travel time charge. Then on top of that, I dont have an order form. The paperwork they gave me had someone name and address and contact information. The marked out the person info and they told me that the reason why my information isnt on the form is because they was told at the last minute about my move! This company by far is the absolute worst. Im am going to file a civil suit against them. I wouldnt use them if they was the last moving company on the earth. No proffesionalism, lack of communication, false advertisement!!!!Desired Settlement: I would like to recieve my belongs at the rate it was giving to me. I would like a explaination of the charges, and for them to finish the job!

Review: We hired All My Sons for a local move. Based on their website, they handle everything professionally and with care to prevent damage. They did not dissemble a pedestal oak table to prevent damage. I asked that they leave it dissembled when we got to our new home because we were going to give to our daughter when she got married. They told me they had not dissembled - to which I replied it has always been dissembled by movers in prior moves. As a result, the pedestal was destroyed. They made multiple comments throughout about how the "tip" was essential, they don't make money, standard tip is $100 per man....etc. When they damaged the table they said "we are sorry but all you need to do is call tomorrow and they will take care of it". Convinced that they were going to make good on the damage, I tipped each man. Taking care of it meant offering me 60 cents per pound for a total of $66. A small fraction of replacement cost let alone the personal value - it was a gift from my grandmother. I intended to agreed to the liability waiver based on damage that was not preventable. They assured they provided excellent service and they did not.Desired Settlement: I want $400 to get a similar table - it is not of the same quality but will serve the purpose; and half of the tip money - $150.

After reviewing her letter, she did file a claim with our claims department. We made an offer to her of $[redacted], which she mentioned in her letter. Regards,

I tried to submit this to the Revdex.com but they denied the complaint and I think people who look this company up should know. The movers (5 of them) split up into different parts of the house and my grandmother was unable to supervise them all at once. When they were alone they went through boxes and drawers looking for things to steal. They stole cash, jewelry, a handgun, and even a new dress shirt in the package which belonged to my recently deceased grandfather. Thousands of dollars in real property, not to mention the sentimental values for most of it. The property was not recovered by the police and when we contacted the company for their insurance to compensate us, they did not return a single call. We eventually called their corporate HQ and after several calls that suddenly ended when I said I was calling to file a claim, I finally got in touch with the head of the claims department, who offered $2.00 per pound of property stolen, estimated $12.00. I said that was ridiculous, demanded to speak to whomever he answered to and was put on the phone with a man who identified himself as the president of the entire company. He listened to my story, said that obviously that was an unacceptable compensation, told me he would personally take care of this issue and just had to contact the branch manager and the claims department to resolve it and that he would call me later that afternoon with an update, even gave me his direct office number just in case. Afternoon came and went, so did the next day, and the weekend. I called his direct office number the next monday. It was a fake number. They have not returned the voicemails nor answered a single email. Everyone should know that this is a toxic enterprise, they WILL try to steal from you, and it seems every single person from bottom to top is either complacent or criminally corrupt.

Review: I hired All My Sons moving to move my household from Richmond, VA to Chesterfield, VA. During my initial phone call I was quoted a "$540.00, worst case" to move my house and my storage area from the sales assosiate. I had made it clear exactly how much stuff I had and was assured it would all fit in one trip (house and storage area). As the movers were finishing loading the house they informed me that they would have to go to the new house to drop off and then go back to the storage area to load. I immediately called All My Sons and was informed the driver knew best. This accounted for a lot of extra driving time and wasted payed labor. When the movers presented me the final bill it totaled almost $1200.00, more than double the original quote. I called to inquire about the total and was told by the assosiate he would talk to the boss and call me as soon as possible. The following monday I received a call from a lady at the company who told me it was a regional assosiate and not a local assosiate who gave me the original quote and he "should not have guranteed the $540.00". I explained that I understood the quote may go over and was expecting closer to $700-$800 but more than double the original quote was unacceptable. She offered me a half hour rebate in an attempt to please me. I told her that would not fix the problem at which point she offered an hour rebate. Knowing at that point that was the best I would receive I accepted the rebate. I understand their are difficulties when a regional office promises something that the local office cannot deliver but I still feel I have been the victem of a sort of bait and switch.Desired Settlement: I have been refunded $163.50 (1 hour labor). I would like to be refunded the remaining amount of approximately $487.50 to equal the originally quoted $540.00

I used All My Sons Moving & Storage for my move from Richmond, VA to Nashville, TN. The moves arrived promptly, and packed up quickly. My things arrived in the same condition. They placed all the boxes where I wanted them, and helped to arrange the furniture the way I liked. It can be very nerve wrecking to find a creditable moving company that will not over charge you. The fact that All My Sons offers a guarantee delivery date, and a binding estimate made me choose them. The great movers ([redacted]) sealed the deal. I would definitely use their services again, and ask for the same movers.

Review: Mis-communication with All My Sons Moving and Storage. I recently contacted this company on the internet to move my Father approximately 8 miles from where he lived. It was a vital mistake with the communications issues of this family business. I recently spoke to a representative of this company on week of February the 4th or 5th. I explained my moving preferences and was asked how many rooms to ensure a proper quote. I explain that my father was moving from one apartment to another approximately 8 miles apart. Also that he was moving from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment. I was quoted a price of 400.00. The gentleman stated that it was 99 dollars per hour and 1 hour for transportation for the guys moving the items. I responded that it was only 8 min apart in distance and I needed to keep my cost at a minimum. He said that he would make a note to keep the cost around 400.00 for financial purposes. Because I was told that it would be 99.00 per hour and it should not take more than 3 hours to move from a 3 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment. I was very puzzled and call back 3 times to express my concerns of how could they do this in 3 hours, I was told on several occasions that they do this all the time and they have professional movers that could handle the task. It turned out to be a nightmare. The day before the move I called again. I asked again the cost and was quoted 431.64. I paid with my bank card over the phone. After I paid very quickly the politeness and conversation was like a push over. Quoted: Someone will call you soon to give you a time frame for the next day of February 11, 2014. I received a call approximately an hour later with the wrong time of the arrive. The day of the move I had to pay additional [redacted] because of the time it took the movers to move most of the items and hired someone to help them to move because it was taken longer than quoted. A total of 579.14 paid to a very unprofessional company and misleading to their word.Desired Settlement: A refund on the [redacted] additional cost because of the miss communication.

Dear [redacted],
I’m responding to a letter referencing the above ID#.
He moved [redacted] as she requested on February 11. 2014. She called for an estimate, our representative gave her our hourly rate, which was 2 men @$99.00 with a 4 hour minimum that included I hour for travel and a 9% fuel surcharge, which came to $431.64 for the minimum. We called to confirm the details a day or two prior, which is a recorded phone call and went over everything with her she was told $431.64 was the minimum charge and certainly not a flat rate. (She was told this repeatedly) When went out to do the move on the 11th we sent out 3 men at the same quoted rate of $99,00 (which is a savings of over $140) to help expedite the move for[redacted]. They performed the move in 5.5 hours total with the 3 men and. even stayed out there at least e other 30 minutes off the clock. All My Sons did not do anything wrong in this situation, we were honest and up front about all charges and even performed work without getting paid for it, by no means will All My Son, give [redacted] a refund of any Kind. We apologize for any misunderstanding she might have had.
Sincerely,

Regards,

I find inconsistency in the report from All My Sons Moving and Storage Company, located at [redacted]My dispute involve in paying additional moving charges on February 11,2014. I originally contacted this company from an Internet ad to move my father. I choose this company because of the distance from my father's locations. I was quoted over the phone a cost of400.00 and this was what I was willing to pay. I also told the gentleman on the phone that it was a reasonable amount and called my father to confirm. Also that 1 would not pay any additional cost. He !laid he it would document tbe notes to reflect financially this is all my father would be willing to pay.
At the beginning was asked how many rooms were in the house and I told them it would be 2 bedrooms of furniture. A living room and a small apartment kitchen dining area which including everything in the rooms... I stated several times if it would be more in cost let me know now. Three hours was quoted for the apartment size. My father and I also made a fourth call to the gentlemen to discuss TV"s and other equipment and it was told to the both us on a three way conversation to leave everything has is and they would take care of everything. The time to do this job was quoted at three hours of 99.00 per hour and 99.00 for one hour of commute for the movers which estimated a cost of 400.00.
Question: of All Sons Moving Company knew that the cost would be more why they did except my payment of
431.64 prior to the move.
I called the day before to confirm payment and options of payment since I. may not have been there at the completion of the move. I authorize payment of 431.64onFebruary 10th to come out of my checking account at [redacted]. This company was fine and very nice until after gave them my payment and everything changed after. Once the payment was received the gentleman told me that someone would call shortly to conform a time. A representative did call to confirm the time which was between 9:00 and 10:00 am on February 1,2014 the movers to come. The tone when I questioned the time of the move and completion of the move was very abrupt by the young women who called to conform the time of the move the next day. The time she schedule was between 9:00 o'clock and 10:00 o'clock and the movers were there at 8:15 that morning.
I also asked at that time how an apartment could be moved in three hours and was told that they have experienced guys to move and they do this all the time .I began to thank it must be several guys on the job. I was never ever told that two men would only be there to move my father according to the statement from the company. The morning of the move there were three men to move my father. The cost also was to include according to the company, packing and moving.
My dispute also is that 1 had no contract and the job was not evaluated by the moving company prior to the appointment and completed as confirmed. This is where the confusion has taken place. The day of the move I received a call from a gentleman from this family owned business to say that the cost would be more because the movers were going over the time allotted.
My family packed everything, took a lot over the day before, the day of and after the move. ) bad to hire an additional two people to help the guys. They arrived at around 8: 15 on February the 11th and did not finish loading the job and heading to the new location until 11:30 which Ike three hour were up.
The company called me to sec how the move was going and told me: be that It would be charged an additional cost after the guys were finished. My response to the gentlemen was "I did not understand why I would be paying more when I asked three times If three hours would be sufficient for this job". I would have had the opportunity to make other chooses. The gentleman from the company became very rude to me and I had to stand my ground with him that he would not talk to me in the manner that he did. Explaining that he hired a third person for this move. When all along I was thinking more guys anyway because of the time he quoted for the move. He also mentioned that he had a nice truck for the move. This is irrelevant to the fact.
I should not be held responsible because no one came out to evaluate the job to find out the time it would take for the move. This gentleman also informed his guys on the day of the move after his conversation with me to shut the move down without me knowing because they were over the allotted time for the move and very abrupt with them. The movers would not stop they continued on moving my father. A Jot of items were still left in my father's home in which we had to transport ourselves. All of this were verbally told to me on three occasions that would be handled
At the end of the move I was asked to sign a form indicating the completion of the job and my account would be charged an additional 147.50. I refused to sign the form. The driver was on the phone with the company and the young lady on the phone got very ugly to say you are going to pay us our money with a serious tone. I handed the phone back to the driver because I don't conduct myself in that manner. I signed under my notes a dissatisfied complaint. However the signature area was not signed for completion. The company has the copy. I paid the balance by my credit card because the driver informed me that they would not get paid if I did not pay. I really felt sorry for the gentleman working at this company at this level of work without overtime pay when the Company failed to evaluate the job.
I understand why the timing went over because the guys had to physically take every item from the]" floor to the second floor without any mechanical devices. This is not my fault. I asked if they had a dolly and was told they did for boxes and etc. but not for furniture. How cruel can then be.
I would like to reference this information in the Revdex.com so that no one else would be misled has I felt I was.
After the move on February the 11th, We found broken china, the bed posted cracked, and damage to TV stand. I contacted the company right away and was transferred to their claims department. I feel because of the misrepresentation of this move that I should getallofmymoneybackhowever1am only disputing the 147.50of additional charges and documented to help others who may need this type of service.
No offer was made.

[redacted] I just want to inform you that I also file a complaint with my bank which is [redacted] Bank in reference to case [redacted]. I received a credit of the [redacted] back in my account last week. However my father has not received the claims form from All My Sons for damaged items. The [redacted] return to me was filed under failure to deliver as promised. Example: The move was not completed on that day because we had to finished the next day moving items out of the apartment and this could have resulted from the company telling the guys to shut it down that day of the move. Not sure however the job was not completed. Have you heard any more from this company?

Review: We hired All My Sons moving and storage to relocate us from Chesterfield VA to Woodbridge VA on October 2, 2015. The movers showed up late and were very disorganized. They damaged multiple items during the move to include putting a hole in one of our doors, chipping furniture, scratching our stainless steel refrigerator, scratching expensive curtain rods due to not properly wrapping them (we found them on the floor of our garage), putting a hole in the wall of a bedroom at the new residence and stealing a brand new still in the box 32 inch television. They were hoodlums that were sent to my home to move us, not professionals. After dealing with the Account Manager who repeatedly tried to dismiss us, they offered us a mere $300.00 for thousands of dollars of damaged goods. I've filed a police report for the stolen t.v., which they deny stealing. They were the only ones in my home outside of my husband and I.Desired Settlement: Due to the poor customer service, inconvenience of filing a police report and time loss dealing with this poor excuse of a company, I want to be reimbursed in full.

Review: On 6/18/15 I verbally contracted with All My Sons to move me to my new location. The contract terms were 3 men, a 26' truck, estimated moving time 4 to 5 hours at an hourly rate of $169/hour. The date of the move was set on 6/23/15 in the morning. I was to receive a confirmation call 24-48 hours prior to the move with the actual time that the movers would arrive. The company debited my credit card in the amount of $50 for the deposit. On 6/22/15 at 7:00 PM, I called the company because I had not heard from them. They said that the movers would arrive between 8:00 and 10:00 am on 6/23/15. At around 9:00 and every 15 to 30 minutes, I called the company to see where the movers were. I was told that they would call me back, that the movers were in route, etc. They never called me back and the movers finally showed up at 12:45 pm. The movers told me that the management lied and because they had arrived late from a previous move, there was a regulatory requirement that they could not drive for 10 hours therefore; their start time couldn't be any earlier than 1:00 pm. As I was promised, 3 men showed up. 2 men did a great job. The 3rd man was 19 years old, complained of a sprained ankle, stayed in the bathroom most of the day and was basically worthless. I'm 5'1" and weigh 110 pounds. I did a lot of lifting and work to compensate for the 3rd man. This also resulted in additional hours (6 hours). The move manager (John) prepared the debit to my credit card. He included $1,014 (6 hrs x $169), $32 (materials), $106.47 (fuel) for a total of $1,271.47. I asked to speak to the operations manager (Justin) at the office and he agreed to renegotiate the terms due to the 3rd man's lack of working. He also agreed to reduce the per hour rate to $140 and remove the fuel charges (this along with the materials charge were not disclosed at the time of the original verbal conversation on 6/18/15). Justin also agreed to pay me $400 for my tanning bed for his girlfriend.Desired Settlement: I have contacted the office numerous times (7/3, 7/6, 7/7) with "promises" that they will call me back, etc. I also have talked with Debbie in Customer Care for assistance. She has made several attempts to contact Justin and ask him to call me. Justin told her that he put the $400 check in the mail to me on 7/6/15. I'm not sure where he mailed it because he doesn't have my new address and it hasn't gone to the old address. Again, more lies. I have never received a call back or any communication. I am requesting a refund of $881.47. This represents 6 hrs @ $140 plus the $50 deposit plus $400 for the tanning bed.

They are very rude and obnoxious. They talk to you any type of way.Someone need to Investigate in this business.

Review: The "supervisor" of my local move- Saturday, September 20th- used bullying and dishonest, fraudulent information to obtain additional payment for services. He also falsely reported the number of hours to charge and added fictitious furniture charges to the move. They also destroyed property.

The corporate headquarters have not attempted to resolve this.Desired Settlement: I would like the fraudulent charges credited back to my credit card and the employee disciplined for his misrepresentation of the company. I would also like to receive his "required tip" back- in the form of cash- $80.

Business

Response:

I want to start by saying All My Sons truly apologizes for the behavior that was put forth by the driver as described by [redacted]. We did talk with the driver and he was given a warning about the issue concerning tipping. Although, just to explain the driver is solely responsible for driving the truck and loading the truck (padding & secured items) I am not sure as to the fraudulent charges [redacted] is speaking of, but she was not charged anything more than the time it took to perform her move. I went ahead and looked at the GPS for that day and our crew arrived at 9:15am and closed out the job for 2:15pm. We have a 4 hour minimum, which includes 1 hour for travel and a 9% fuel surcharge, then we bill in 30 minute increments after that.

Her total working hours were 5 + 1 hour travel = $750.00 9% fuel $67.50 for a total of $817.50. Those charges are correct and that is what she paid.

At this time, we would like to offer credit back the $80.00 for the tip she gave.

If this is acceptable, please let me know.

Review: I booked All My Sons Moving Company to handle a one bedroom apartment move on December 28, 2015. The booking process was smooth, but the experience after that was a nightmare. I was told I would receive a call a day or two before the move to confirm the time. No call came. I tried to call the office, but there phone were not working. It took me forever to get a hold of someone in the corporate office for theme to tell me that that location was moving offices and their phones were not working. I was told I was still on the schedule. The morning of the move, I finally got ahold of [redacted], operations manager, who informed me that three men called out sick and they wouldn't be able

To do the job- no apology, no nothing. I had to ask for my deposit back before he hung up on me. I also had to beg for a number of someone else to call. This type

Of service is appalling and if they can't actually complete a move, they shouldn't be I business. I am still waiting on the refund on my deposit.Desired Settlement: I would like to be contacted by the corporate office so they know this location's sketchy business practices. I would also like my deposit refunded since services were not delivered.

Response:

Good afternoon, the refund was issued on 12/28/15 to credit card ending in [redacted] for the amount of $50.00. Our corporate office values all feedback, please send your feedback to [redacted]

Review: All My Sons Moving & Storage has overcharged me by $3,980.59 on 12/12/13. The original written quote to move my household goods from my previous home to my replacement home was for $4,965.78, plus $2,800.00 for moving all the goods into storage and moving from storage to back on the trucks to be delivered for a grand total of $7,765.78, however they charged me a grand total of $11,746.37. When I complained about the overcharging amount of $3,980.59 they said I would have to pay the $3,980.59 or my household goods could not be unloaded from their trucks. I spoke with a member of management on 12/12/13 who indicated that she would escalate my concern to the [redacted] of the company, however I have had no response from the [redacted]. I have left two telephone messages for him to contact me, but have had no response. I have sent two e-mails and only one has been responded to by the [redacted] of the [redacted]) regarding how to file a claim for many damaged and missing items of my household goods caused by All My Sons Moving & Storage.Desired Settlement: For the management of All My Sons Moving & Storage to communicate with me and to refund to my credit card a credit of $3,980.59 for the overcharging and to ensure my claim for missing and damage household goods is processed timely and fairly.

RE: Claim # [redacted]
To Whom It May Concern:
[redacted] was given an estimate for his move. He came into our storage with 4 trucks full of belongings. After receiving dissatisfaction and concern over his bill, All My Sons agreed to give a month of free storage in the amount of $800.00. which he accepted.
When it came time to move out of storage, we gave him his price based on the actual weight from the weight ticket and mileage because his move was over 30 miles, which he understood. Again, upon arrival [redacted] was not happy with the price, All My Sons again gave him a discount of [redacted] of the price.
I understand his move was costly, but he had an extreme amount of belongings and our estimator did his best to provide an accurate estimate. We will not be refunding him any more money for his move; his claim will be handled through our claims department in accordance with the contract.
Sincerely,

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9852100, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of our response is attached for your reference.

I do not accept All My Son’s explanation offer because it is not factual and is misleading as follows:

1. The initial written total estimate received from All My Sons’ Moving & Storage on 6/11/13 to move our household goods from [redacted] (our projected move location since we had not located a replacement home at that time) was for $4,965.78 and $2,800 for moving the household goods into and out of storage (we had to use their storage facility since we had not located a replacement home) for a grand total of $7,765.78. Their estimator informed me on 6/11/13 that he had been estimating moves of this type (ours was unusually large) for many years and the actual move costs could be lower than the $4,965.78, but definitely would not exceed it by more than a couple hundred dollars because he was good at what he does. However, the grand total of the actual move ended costing $13,546.37 before their adjustments and without considering storage costs and the unloading and reloading costs to and from storage which are not at issue. After their adjustments, the actual move ended costing us $11,746.37, $3,980.59 more than their estimator’s initial written total estimate even though our move location to [redacted], ** was closer than the projected [redacted], **, location. Missing an estimate by $3,980.59 is very significant when your everyday business is estimating and moving customers. Of three other moving company estimates we received, All My Sons became the highest by approximately $3,000 in the end, however when I selected them to move us they were the 2nd lowest based on their initial written total estimate.
2. On 7/16/13, 7/17/13 and 7/18/13, All My Sons charged us a total of $5,672.88 for moving us to their storage facility in [redacted], **, approximately 35 miles away. That did not include the $2,800 for unloading the items from their trucks into storage or reloading from storage to their trucks when it came time to deliver to our replacement home. When I complained on 7/18/13 that they had exceeded their initial estimate of $4,965.78 for the complete move to just move us into storage they offered a $800 adjustment for one month’s storage rent and the estimator told me that the move from storage would not exceed their initial estimate of $4,965.78 to our replacement home projected to be in [redacted], **. I questioned him if he was sure and he indicated yes that the remaining move from storage to the replacement home would not exceed the initial estimate of $4,965.78. I agreed to accept the $800 adjustment since it was not going to cost me anymore according to the estimator than the initial estimate of $4,965.78 to move from storage to our replacement home. However, once we located our replacement home in Loc[redacted], ** and had our items delivered on 12/11/13 and 12/12/13, All My Sons wanted to charge us an additional $7,873.49 before releasing our items from their trucks I complained and they offered an adjustment of $1,000 at that time and told me that the president of their company would call me within a couple of days when he returned from traveling to discuss my concerns of the over-charging. I accepted their $1,000 adjustment in good faith based on that the president would call me in the near future and to get my items released from their trucks. However, I never received a response from the president even though I left several phone messages for him to call me. I even called and spoke with the estimator and he told me that he was ill and not at work, and I would have to call the president to discuss the overcharges.
3. I believe All MY Sons lured me in to do business with them based on a misleading low ball estimate and promises, and once they had possession of our items overcharged us in increments totaling $3,980.59 ($13,546.37 - $800.00 monthly rent adjustment, - $1,000.00 adjustment on 12/12/13, - $7,765.78 for the initial move estimate of $4,965.78 and $2,800.00 moving into and out of storage = $3,980.59) at their will.
4. Additionally, All My Sons has caused us to have missing and damaged items resulting from them being careless such as by not handling boxes properly clearly marked “fragile and “handle with care”, tracking mud on our newly cleaned carpets, damaging inside house walls and doors from bumping delivered items, scratching and gouging hardwood floors, breaking tables, scratching tables, damaging a dresser and night stand, breaking many pieces of antique furniture, china and glassware that a price cannot be placed on them, and damaging a piano. I had previously requesting from All My Sons’ management to ensure they send adequate protection with the movers to protect the hardwood floors and carpet on two occasions, but the protection sent was adequate to reduce damage. I observed other boxes and items stored in their trucks on top of fragile items causing breakage. They have referred us to their claims department, but after discussing the complicated and labor intensive process with their claims department we have no confidence that we will be made whole for our losses.
We were treated very professional by All My Sons until we complained regarding the overcharging, missing and damage, then communications ceased. Our items have been moved on four previous occasions by other moving companies and we have never been overcharged or had the extent of missing and damaged items that we have experienced with All My Sons. We will be having other upcoming moves, but we will never use All My Sons again or refer them to any relatives or friends. This has been a very costly and disappointing move and business transact

Review: I call the company and asked for an estimate, they said do you want three bedrooms or weight ( I thought they meant the number of rooms I had here) - I didn't have any furniture as I sold it to come from Hawaii, I had been living with my niece in Richmond VA, until my house was built in NC. I told I didn't any furniture, except I have two curios, 1 small dining table/4 chairs, one brass single bed headboard and mattress, and a rocker... and about 50 boxes of clothes, that consist of kitchen supplies, and kick-knacks. I had about about 10 at my sisters in Warrenton, VA. these has the same items inside, kick-knacs. they explained that I should go with the weight they said it was a better deal. the lady the day before the move on the phone stated that this was the best for me. They did not quote how much the 2 bedroom price would be. they just kept saying weigh would be a better deal. I spoke with [redacted] and his father and they stated that the load would be weighed before it left the ware house and after they put the furniture on in Warrenton and when they got to Chesterfield and they would weight it again. I asked how much was the initial weight and they said they would have to weigh at the weigh station.Initially I was informed they would start the process at 8:30 am, I informed my sister and she made plans to leave work at 8am to take me to NC, the movers informed my younger sister the morning of the move that they would leave Richmond at 6:00 am..the truck spent he night in Richmond and left at 6:00 am but my sister could not change her work schedule in such a short period of time and we left Richmond at 8:30 am the scheduled time of departure. the movers called and stated they were there two hours earlier than us, and we informed them we were told that they would leave at 8:30 am and so that is the time we left.. again my sister could not leave work since she was told 8:30 am. the movers were NOT happy that we were late, we asked the dispatcher if we were being charged for this and he stated he was going to try not to, my sister stated they informed us 8:30 am not 6:30 am.. we are on time with the schedule. we arrived on time for the 8:30 departure schedule. the movers were not happy, I was afraid to say anything as I thought they would not move my things carefully. after they left and we were opening the boxes we found items broken. (pictures available) they are items missing from the boxes, and they brought most of the boxes in my bedroom and the living room when they were clearly marked.my sister looked up prices recently and the two bedroom option would have been more inexpensive than the weight.Desired Settlement: I feel that they overcharged me, and I feel I need an explanation as to why they did not give me the complete picture as to all my opinions. When I complained [redacted] mentioned on the phone that they could have sent an estimator to see the items to be moved but stated the contract was a short term contract. I never signed a contract I just gave them a deposit over the phone for 500.00. I signed a freight bill when they loaded to state that they took my belongings. Also I was never told that I could have an estimator to come out to my home to give an estimation of the move charges. I had been speaking to them over the phone for many weeks but I did not know WHEN I was going to move, because I have not gone to settlement. I informed them I wanted them to move me but I will have to flexible as I needed to wait for the settlement date. I spoke to both Father and son and both told me that I had to go with the weight, I was very uncomfortable with not knowing the price, and stated that but they stated that it would be cheaper to go with the weight, but I asked over and over how do they know how to charge me for weight, they repeated that they would weight the truck BEFORE the and AFTER the pickup. The movers stated to my younger sister that they didnt think the first leg was a hundred lbs.

I have lived at my nieces house where the items are stored since my move from Hawaii in Jan 2014, I am a senior citizen and retired I am at home most of the time and it would have been OK for them to come, but I was not told that I could have an estimator to come. [redacted] said on the phone that he would have his boss [redacted] call me. but by the manner of way that [redacted] spoke to me, I don't feel I will get anywhere with [redacted] either.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

I am responding to a complaint received from [redacted]. After reading the complaint, It seems [redacted] has some confusion on things. When she initially called us for an estimate, she was given one over the phone, which was explained to her it was done by weight because she was moving out of state. She agreed to the phone estimate, she was always given a price based on weight. She eventually called us back and wanted to reserve the dates for us to perform her move. As far as arriving too early, we do apologize for that, we do have a note she requested an early arrival whether it was for pickup or delivery I am not sure at this point. We do not charge her for any waiting time, and we apologize if the men were not pleased at first and certainly did not intend to make her move unpleasant in any way.

We did not overcharge [redacted] she was charged accordingly to the weight she had. At this time All My Sons would like to offer her $250.00 back to settle this matter with her, I hope this would be acceptable to her.

Sincerely,

All My Sons VA, Inc.

Response:

Dear [redacted], thank you for the email, I thought I would have a place to respond to the acceptance, so I am putting it to the email. While I agreed because I felt I really didn't have a choice, I still protest that they hoodwinked me, because they stated a different price at estimate than they demanded when they delivered my possessions. Thank you for your time. [redacted]

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted]
