Nextdoor violates the privacy of non-members by allowing posts containing names, addresses and other personal information without their knowledgeSaid posts constitute libelous and tortuous activity, defamation of character and promote an environment of bullyingModerators have allowed such posts, going as far as suggest additional aggressive action toward the unwitting non-member and complainant states the company has a complete lack of proper oversightNextdoor promotes the privacy of its members but not of those defamed

I posted on Nextdoor about suspicious activity at my home and that police were called, who took my report seriouslyI wanted to share with the neighbors that a woman trespassed on my property and looked into my car windowI also wanted to know if my neighbors knew who she was and if maybe she perhaps had dementia or Alzheimer's as she was older and maybe she was lost and needed help(I saw this on my Ring video)Most of my neighbors were helpful and thankful for my postTwo people attacked me for my post and one of them even privately messaged me and harassed meSomeone reported my post and all of my responses to these people that attacked meI reported to Nextdoor that I was being harassed and muted the people that were harassing me, emailed nextdoor asking for helpNext thing I know, I no longer have a nextdoor account at allNo explanation, no email notification, nothingMy husband tried to make an account and nextdoor won't even let him make oneI was very unfairly treat

Very unprofessional customer serviceI was recently suspended for no reason off the siteyou have to jump through hoops to contact them and the response was because a neighbor did not like my commentThe original question was a person reaching out to find out information about their child's school and activitiesMy comment was Don't you think a parent should know the phone number to the school their kids go toI don't think thats offensive I think its common senseIn my mind I think what if there is an emergency is that parent going to go to a social media site to get the phone number to relay emergency informationNEXTDOOR says I was offensive to the female?? why because I was sending that messageI then asked next door who reported it they refuse, I then asked for corporate information her employee number ectI get ignoredVery much one sided, I have actually reported illegal activity I get messages from disgruntled neighbors who want to allow the activity and it gets ignored when I report the activity and rude messagesIm beginning to think this is a gender biased website

Unable to log into nextdoor account plus all the accounts in our house has been made read only

Lauren's negative review of 9/26/is EXACTLY the same as my experienceI just got off the phone after leaving a (long) voicemail about this very same issue (using the phone number on this page)I was merely checking out the NextDoor application to see if I could join before the closing date as a way of getting to know my neighborsWhen I realized that I needed to verify that address (which makes sense), I clicked "close"The next day, I got an automated email saying that NextDoor had mailed a postcard to the addressLauren--I know how you feel! I have been doing some delicate negotiations about price and repairs and feel I have a good relationship with the sellers, but what will they think when they get mail for me? I see a lot of negative reviews, so I think I will not join NextDoor at allI'll make my connections the old-fashioned way, by talking to neighbors in person

I joined next door in my neighborhood awhile agoI rarely post itemsmonths ago I posted an item that I believe is a potential health hazard in the city I live inI directly quoted the American Cancer Society as part of the postMy purpose was to inform my fellow neighbors of this potential health hazardUnfortunately some ignorant people decide this was a free for all to ridicule my postThis should not have been allowedIt resembled junior high school behavior from adultsI chose to ignore these postsA few people agreed with my post and posted their concernsI never posted on this topic againUp to this day, people continue to post on this topicSome with additional abusive comments, some with real concernI have not posted since my original postI am very disappointed in nextdoor as it proclaims to be something it is notLast night I received an email from next door : Hello _____ A message you posted was reported and removed for violating Nextdoor's Community Gui

Nextdoor is completely unfairI was called an A-hole by a neighbor and the post was left up publicly for hours after I reported itThe leads are completely one-sided hacks who pick and choose their favorite people and censor or block other neighborsThis is not a social neighborhood website, this is a political, racist organization trying to promote it's own agendaAlso, they use people's information without permission

I live in a townhome community of units We have a pool but no clubhouse or other central gathering place, so people don't know each other well enough in my opinion So I started the Nextdoor service in my community and it has gone well for a couple years now I wish we had better participation----only about one-third of our units belong--but we have a number of elderly owners who don't have computers or, if they have them, don't care to use them We also have a number of rental units; we allow them to join but they tend not to We have found it useful for publicizing info from the community's Board of Directors, as well as the usual lost dogs, items for sale, contractor recommendations, and area crime heads-ups Our city police use it to announce their periodic "Coffee with a Cop" meetingsWe make clear that Nextdoor is not an arm of the Board of Directors, so we don't have anyone calling out a member for some real or imagined transgression on this forum They know to take that sort of complaint to our property manager So, it's worked well for us

Created a post on *** Nasty neighbor publicaly posted a humiliting, nasty response to my postI have tried 2X to contact *** administratorsanyoneI’ have followed Nextdoor’s procedures to report violation of their community standardsNo one is reaching out to assist

Officially the worst company I’ve ever dealt with sent a private message to customer support about someone public shaming an individual and was kicked off still haven’t been put back on and a customer support doesn’t respond in a hour time that they state they willBad business ethics hope no one else gets kicked off for no reason I live in this neighborhood and I can’t see what’s going on not even the people in my house or able to have an account

Next Door is run by a group of liberal snowflakes out of CaliforniaThen they partner with your neighborhood developer or HOAThen the developer or HOA appoints hand picked leads that monitor the site and makes sure no one disparages the HOA or the developerSince most developers have close ties with the city this protectionism carries over to the city government. So if you want to have any sort of meaningful conversation get ready to be scrutinized by your lead who is just waiting to find "violators" This company is horrible and I would run away from this site

I recently tried to sign up for Nextdoor.com when my address was flagged by the site as the address of a sex offenderI was horrified! A message popped up saying my address was flagged as a sex offender saying I was blocked from using the site and that I had to contact local law enforcement to get my address off the sex offender registry for New York StateIt said I could NOT be a member until it was resolvedI contacted the police but they counldn't clear up the member because the registry was based off last name, county, zip codeThe site never gave me information as to what their database had on fileI then called Albany, New York state registry for sex offenders and told them of my shock, concerns and fearsWas there a sex offender living in my building I had no knowledge of, with three children! Albany said they need the information the site had on file because they could not change anything til they knew the name coming up at my addressI then emailed the site Tell them th

Stay away from this site Nextdoor does not devote any effort or resources to checking comments that are reported Trolls learn all they have to do is report a comment and Nextdoor will suspend an account without even glancing at the comment to see if it actually violated any guidelines And, they suspend accounts without any warningThis means people can be silenced simply because someone else disagrees with what they have had to say This social media site is a mess and I deleted my account because of their practices And, they do nothing about actual bullying Nextdoor sucks folks, don't go there

My account has been suspended with no explanation and no reasonI am a lead and did not do anything wrong in my neighborhoodI did my best to defuse situations especially the political ones that were coming upI would remove a post that was reported and I would report post I knew when breaking guidelinesI have added over people to the group from my neighborhood and was born and raised hereI have contacted them times now about this with no response and when I go to sign and it shows me not even here and they removed my houseThere were a couple of neighbors that are new to the neighborhood who said they were going to do everything they could to get me removed from next-door and looks like they succeededThis is very unfair and customer service owes me an explanation

Here are the serious problems with Nextdoor:
Fake accounts are rampantFake accounts do NOT get permanently deleted after "suspension"New member accounts are NOT verified in all cases allowing for the creation of Fake accountsValid photos are NOT required for members, further creating a situation where fake accounts are being createdCensorship is a "culture" of Nextdoor - in Violation of the 1st amendmentCivil and non hateful comments are being censoredReal Accounts are getting suspended for arbitrary reasons, NOT for legitimate guideline violations(iecensorship)
NextDoor does NOT notify legitimate account holders/members of ANY account changes such as suspensionsCurrently, little to no notifications exist – that is UNACCPETABLE!
Negligence in monitoring and removing Fake accounts on Nextdoor is a reality thus creating a privacy and safety concern for members, in addition to allowing "criminal" activity to flourishEngaging in arbitrary Censorship is also a VERY bad business practice!

Nextdoor seem to cater to HOA needs instead of actual neighborhoodsIf they don't like the post that exposes HOAs poor SOPs or states a bad experience with a business that advertises on their app, they will remove your postNo comments or explanationsThis has been my experience in the past and most recentlyNextdoor is not a forum for neighbors to discuss their issues and express their opinions unless the moderators think it makes the app looks good or is acceptable to the HOAYour opinion only matters if it fits their parameters

My experience has been to see Nextdoor used as a covert campaign platform for local city council candidatesIn spite of numerous reports of posts that violate their own community guidelines, nothing was done to address the issuesThe leads clearly act out of their own bias and apply the guidelines inconsistently based on that biasAs I've researched further, it's easy to understand why Nextdoor has been a lightning rod for controversy for racial profiling and political bias

Extremely poor customer service when dealing with issues regarding "leads" either banning someone or deleting their comments Seems to me to NOT be a right to free speech.....we have two "leads" in our neighborhood who are married, which is against Nextdoor policy......seriously thinking of filing a lawsuit

Nextdoor is full of bullies, political zealots, and leads who allow their favorite people to post ridiculous things while censor other peoples commentsThey need to eliminate politics and make it a truly neighborhood siteThey also need to have specific rules in place as well as consistent oversight on leads behavior, whom they are censoring and whom they are allowing to rant and bully others, and why The leads in *** ***, ***, **, are a bunch of liberal bullies who pick their favorites and stifle freedom of speech of anyone who is not in agreement with their position on any given issue
