            Park Seed, Wayside Gardens and Jackson and Perkins   Dear Ms. [redacted],   Upon reviewing Mrs. [redacted]’s claim and social media post, I found that our Head Horticulturist/Botanist did review the photos she sent and confirmed the rose did not have Rose rosette disease, due to the fact that the cane pictured with the scarlet foliage was not scarlet in color, as the thorns were not of a scarlet color. Rose rosette disease is very distinct in having Scarlet colored foliage, canes and thorns. Mrs. [redacted] photo showed new growth with scarlet foliage (which is typical of new growth), but the cane was very green as well as the thorns. Our concern was she received this rose in 4/12/2017, planted it and waited until after the 90 day Guarantee expired to contact us on 8/10/2017 to state this claim. Jackson and Perkins always stands behind their products as our Guarantee states and every item shipped is inspected before shipment. Due to these finding a refund was not issued because she is outside of her Guarantee timeframe. However as a statement we are offering a 50% credit of the order which totaled $76.85. The credit would total $38.43. Please advise if this offer is accepted.   Please convey our apologies to Mrs. [redacted] again for any inconvenience this may have caused. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. [redacted] is correct and she did not receive the petunia plants. Unfortunately, our fulfillment center was unable to ship the petunia's due to quality issues. The petunia plants have been cancelled off the order and the charge card was not billed.
In regards to the 15 concord grape plants on order [redacted] We are sorry to learn the grapes have failed to grow as expected. Unfortunately, upon review of the order it appears the Grape Concord Blue Vitis were ordered outside of the recommended growing zone and are not under guarantee. The grape plants are recommended for growing zones 5 to 9. Based on the USDA, [redacted] zip code of [redacted] puts her in a growing zone 4, which is too cool for the plants to grow or thrive.
Our guarantee states:
We guarantee all Park Seed products to be high quality, true to type, shipped properly, and to perform as advertised. Please understand that we cannot accept responsibility for the results of extreme weather, neglect, unforeseeable acts of nature, or ignoring our hardiness zone recommendation.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me provided delivery is actually received this Friday, 3/31/17.  I would appreciate an email or response here with a tracking number.  I'm very hesitant that indeed my order will be shipped out today for a Friday delivery.Additionally, in Park Seed's response it's stated that website says a 10-14 day lead time on this product.  I did read that and in fact that's why I didn't contact Park Seed until 3/21/17 (14 days after order was placed on 3/7/17).  As I previously stated, I did not receive a response to the email asking for an order status.  I then called cust service on  3/24/17 and was told they couldn't give me a status of my order and that they'd call me back.  I never received a call back therefore I called again on 3/27/17 and once again a status wasn't given to me.  All of this could have been avoided provided I was given an updated status.  Communication is lacking on Park Seed's end to say the least.  This order was a gift which I needed for this Friday evening and without being given a status until now, I've purchased a different gift to replace it.  I will still accept this order and keep for myself.  Again, provided it is received this Friday, 3/31/17.Thank you,[redacted]

To better assist us in determining the issue with the plants our horticulturist requested that pictures of the plants be emailed for review. concerns to our attention. We apologize [redacted] has not received a response to his inquiries or calls. We pride ourselves on delivering top quality products and services in a timely fashion. Unfortunately, this was not achieved on his order.
Our records indicate that we received a gift order for [redacted] via our website on 5/04/15 and the order was shipped via UPS on 5/05/15. We are sorry to hear one of the Rose Double Red Simplicity is not performing as expected. On 5/26/15 we received notification from [redacted] in regards to the size and growth of the plant. At that time [redacted] was advised to perform a scratch test and based on the results our horticulturist has advised to give the rose more time for growth. In addition, to help stimulate the roots for growth the horticulturist has recommended using a 1/4 cup of Epsom salt to a gallon of water. This solution can be applied by spraying/misting the canes and pouring the remainder of the solution at soil level to the plant. The solution can applied to the rose twice a month and growth should be visible within 2 weeks of the first application.
We would like to assure [redacted] the rose is under guarantee until early August. Within the next few weeks after providing the recommended care if the plant fails to show growth we ask that [redacted] please contact us. We continue to be committed to providing all of our customers with the highest standards of service in the industry.
