We are so sorry that we have disappointed him and please let him know this is not typical of our services.              Park Seed, Wayside Gardens and Jackson and Perkins   Dear Ms. [redacted]       Thank you for bringing [redacted] concerns to my attention.   We have corresponded with Mr. [redacted] at length about the loss of his roses. Mr. [redacted] admitted that he had applied a fertilizer too early which resulted in burning the white feeder roots and caused the roses to die.  Mr. [redacted] stated he had checked with a local Rosarians who confirmed that by applying the fertilizer to early, is in fact what caused the roses to die. That he needed to have waited until the roses had green firm leaves before applying any fertilizer. Mr. [redacted] also stated the fertilizer he used had a very strong Ammonia smell and he thought it may have been bad. He admitted the roses were alive before he applied the fertilizer to them. This goes beyond the parameters of our Guarantee. This would be user error and not any fault of Jackson and Perkins or any defect with the roses.              Park Seed, Wayside Gardens and Jackson and Perkins   Dear [redacted]       Thank you for bringing [redacted] concerns to my attention.   Please let M[redacted] know Wayside Gardens is accredited with the Revdex.com and this information can be located on the Revdex.com site searching by Park Seed, Wayside Gardens, Jackson & Perkins.   Upon reviewing [redacted] account I found that she has placed 4 orders this spring and it appears she has not contacted us about any issues with any of her plants, there are no notations on the orders. Please have her call us at [redacted] and we’ll be happy to make the appropriate adjustments for the plants that have not survived.   Please note that plants ordered online are smaller than what you can purchase locally, larger plants do not fare well in shipping. However all of our plants are well rooted and are guaranteed to grow and perform well in their appropriate growing zones.

  Please let me begin by apologizing for the difficulties [redacted] experienced with the growth of the [redacted] plants. We guarantee all Wayside Gardens products to be high quality, true to type, shipped properly, and to perform as advertised. If your plant has received our recommended care and doesn't perform to your satisfaction, notify us and we will replace it free of charge or provide the cost of the product as credit toward a future purchase.To ensure that each living product has adequate opportunity to perform, Wayside Gardens established the following guidelines for reporting problems:  Roses, Perennials, Trees, Shrubs and Bulbs sold in the Spring: 90 days from date of receipt. Upon review of the order our records indicate we received notification about the plant failure on 4/4/16.  [redacted] during the conversation advised the representative she had contacted Wayside last year with concerns about the growth of the plants and was advised to call back in spring 2016.  In April and May 2016 , [redacted] was advised that her guarantee had expired the end of August 2015  both via phone and email respectively.   After further review and as a customer courtesy we have adjusted the order and issued a merchandise credit on for $109.90 for the failed [redacted] plants. The merchandise credit number is [redacted] and can be redeemed toward a future purchase. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. 
I am rejecting this because of the evidence that clearly points to rose rosette virus and unbelievably their lack of knowledge on the topic. They said that there would not be roses if I had the disease, on the contrary, the bush can have an over abundance of buds. They said the plant is typically thorny, which is also a symptom and the other branches don't have even 20% of the amount of thorns the infected branch does. I sent photos which resemble the photos of plants infected so I'm at a loss on that one! From a reputation perspective, I understand it would not be a good thing for a rose company to spread a disease that is only cured by killing the plant. However, they shipped 3 plants in one box and so they are probably effected not to mention this disease is airborne and could impact neighbors and other roses in my own yard. This is serious and I tried my best to give the plant the benefit of the doubt but now the new growth as shown in the photos is effected. This disease is not always quick to surface which  now they claim i'm past the warranty and they want to know why I waited so long. Research I forwarded from the University of Tennessee and every other reliable source supports my claim. I don't think they are taking this serious and if their experts are shipping diseased plants around the country, they are perpetuating the  spread of this incurable disease. I noticed Malibu brand roses have not been on their site for some time now.. Interesting. I attached photos of my infected branches, uninfected so you can compare. I also will include other rose photos taken of other roses I've grown to show I know what I'm doing and talking about. I don't' want to confuse the issue here.

Park Seed needs to get their story straight.  I called yesterday to check on certificate and Shandra (not sure of spelling)after checking,  told me she was sorry for inconvenience but certificate was going out this week and I should have by Christmas.  When asked why I was told last week they were going out she said they were going to send all promotional certificates out at same time.  This simply does not make sense.  Park Seed needs to be more straight forward with their customers and I will NEVER deal with them again and let others know of this disaster. Thank you, [redacted]

The credit amounts are issued for the purchase price paid, we cannot credit for more than the customer paid for the items. Unfortunately due to the temperatures we have already stopped shipping for the summer. If the customer wishes to reorder in the Fall season, we will be more than happy to honor the price paid last Fall and give free shipping as a customer courtesy.
