I have used american home shield for many years never really needed to use it but thought it would be good to have ...my first mistake I called on a thursday as my A.C had gone out.............by monday still had not heard anything from them, At approx decided to place another call to AMS spoke to a very rude young lady who hung up on me so I called back asked to speak to a manager after being on hold for a ridiculous length of time I was told she was busy but would deal with it I said no I cn hold I want to speak to a supervispor a very abrasive female by the name of Lashanda S*** came on the phone had an attitude from getting on the phone I asked to speak to someone else she continued to speak over me then hung up .................I still have not had a call from anyone to see my A,c and really really could not recommend this 2nd rate company to anyone ever save your money

They are the worst excuse for a company because of their horrible customer serviceI cancelled my service because I changed to C*** Home WarrantyAmerican Home Shield got a collection agency after me for $and I called AHS and talked with someon in the Presients resolution officeThey didn't want to help and are worthless

I have been a customer of American Home shield for years I have only tried to use one of their contractors times Both times after sitting on hold with their customer service for minutes I was able to speak to a representative I specifically asked them if my issues were covered and they assured me that they were The contractor came and I paid $but on both occasions they then came back and denied the claim saying that my issue was not covered So, I am out $and still have to call someone else in to complete the repairs In the latest incident the plumber that came made my situation worse so now I can't even use my shower I told AHS this and they really could care less SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! They are not interested in completing repairs, they just want your monthly payment What a scam!

This company is a shamI have only tried to make two claims with them and both times they conveniently had a loophole that allowed them to deny my claimThe company has no problem taking your monthly payments but try to get a dollar out of them and you will be deniedSAVE YOUR MONEY don't buy a a warranty through American Home Shield

This company has horrible customer serviceYes, you can submit your service request online, thank goodness...as it takes on average 30-minutes on hold before you can speak with a live personIt's absolutely insane....I have been on hold so long, the elevator music they have playing loops around and repeats itselfOnce you get a live person to answer, they usually don't have an answerI have been told "someone will call you back" and it has taken daysI will not recommend this company

we are now on our 4th week without a refrigerator and Christmas is in days AHS has not been capable of contracting out QUALIFIED repair technicians to diagnose and repair our subzero refrigerator Each time we call, we spend an average of minutes on hold until we speak to a human, who then tells us there is nothing they can do AHS has contracts with certain repair companies, and they are NOT certified subzero repair companies, even though we confirmed this with AHS PRIOR to signing up for their servicesI do not recommend this company to anyone

As a residential property manager, I am stuck working with American Home Shield much more frequently than I would like I always tell my clients to RUN away as fast as possible if AHS offers them their "service" Such a scam! They contract with some of the worst vendors out there, and their telephone hold times are outrageous I've wasted about hours of time (so far) just trying to get them to send me an invoice so I could PAY them! The girl on the phone, Christine, refused to let me speak with a supervisor she has the invoice that I am requesting (again, so that I can pay THEM), but she insists that she can't email it to me or fax it to me or mail it She says they sent it by email (to the wrong email address), and that it can't be sent again! Unbelievable!

I am done with this companyWhat a scamSo, my dishwasher had a slow leak that damaged by kitchen floor to the point that it will have to be replacedSo, once discovered, I called and they put in an orderThree..count them...three weeks later a repairman from Sears shows up(a nice guy, I don't blame him)Of course, he doesn't have the right partsSo now it will be about another three weeks before he can come backReally? Of course, I had to shell out $for a job that hasn't even begun
So, I am doneIf a really big appliance dies (like my furnace), I will call and then prepare myself for a load of BSAnything else, I will get my own repairman, fix it myself, or get a new oneLess hassle...less headache and in the end, probably less expensive

Purchased a new home and the seller purchased the warranty from American Home Sheild for us since the house is older and has some older appliances
First called about the dryer because it took two or more cycles for the clothes to dry (yes I cleaned the vents out)They told me it would cost $for someone to come out take a look at it, and unless something is actually broken they wouldnt fix the dryer just because it is old and inefficient
Furnance was not functioning properly, called and American Home Shield, they sent a service guy out (cost $100) and informed me that the burner needed to be cleaned and the gas valve needed to be adjusted, but that is not covered by the warranty!!!
Sump pump wasn't not working properly, American Home Sheild sent a plumber out to take a look at itThe floating ball which triggers the pump to turn on was not functioning properly and the bracket that held the ball in place had been broken and was gonePlus the pump was not made for this size well in the first place (this what the plumber told us)American Home Sheild said that it was not covered because the bracket that is supposed to hold the floater ball was missing and that the warranty doesnt cover items when parts are missing!!!!!
American Home Sheild, very polite and courteous but they will look for any reason to not fix or replace anything and everything! The only service they provide is contacting someone to come out and look at the problem for $fee each time!
My advice, save your money!!!!

Any company who keeps customers on hold for an average of minutes or more just to file a request for service, cancel requests, and/or to provide AHS anything special about their appliance (I e water source units) so that the right contraction can be sent does not deserve my businessThe same issues occur when you try to follow up on a request I had a major water line break under my house so I had to turn the water supply off which also required my A/C units which are water source to be turned off I explained all this to AHS who promptly told me they did not offer same day service although I explained we are in a mid 70s and had horses who needed water as well I called in on a Fridayand followed up on that MondayI was told my request didn't qualify as an EmergencyI asked to speak to a Supervisor and was placed on Hold for minutes and then cut off This was the second bad experience in a row that we had with company so I'm in the process of cancelling the contract

We have homes with AHSWe have had nothing but numerous problems with getting a furnace repaired at one of our homesOver service calls & it's degrees with no heatIn the event of an emergency, you're screwedI mean really in trouble
I called another heating & a/c firm with an A+ rating, ***, and they will resolve my problemThanks for nothing AHS

A claim was denied for no reason even though I had been a customer for over years I cancelled the account online through the American Home Shield website And then I receive a bogus outstanding bill for $from a Credit Collection company N*** Credit

Worst company I have ever had to deal withAs write this review I have been on hold for minutesMy washing machine has been broken for over two weeksi had to call multiple times over four and a half daystwice I waited over minutes without ever reaching a service repi finally called in and kept pushing until I reached a human in sales and insisted on speaking with a service repThe washing machine repairman came out MondayHe told me that the machine needs multiple parts and that he could not obtain one of the parts for three monthsToday is FRIDAY I had not heard from AHS so I calledWaited on hold from 9;am to am only to be told they are working in iti called the corporate office 901-537-and spoke to Denise who told me the parts wew too expensive and need a new machineShe transferred me to purchasing at about 10;am it is 11:am and I had to hang up from hold without speaking to anyone in purchasingI have to work at my jobLOUSY COMPANY AND POOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I have been dealing with American Home Shield since May for repairs on a/c unitFirst repairman came out quoted his finding and the company refused to honor paying for complete repairsonly wanted to install the cheapest compressorThe contractor refused the jobSo they sent another contractor out ,he reported the same finding as the first contractorEach time a repairman comes out I am being billed service feesIt is July still no a/cMy contract states if the central electric is not repairable they will replace it with a new unitAMERICAN HOME SHIELD IS NOT HONORING THEIR CONTRACT AGREEMENT Still no way to cool my house temperatures reaching degrees

Absolutely horrable experanceI purchase an American Home Shield Warranty for my parents on thier new propertyI contacted the N*** R*** A**for a recommendation, based on that I contacted American Home ShieldMy parents are in thier 80s and lost there air conditioning unitMy father is disable from the war and needs the air condition for his conditionAfter making a request on line and receiving a email from them saying someone will contact us, it has been four days and no one has contacted usWe have made many attempts to contact them via phone, no one answers the phoneWe have been put on hold for hoursWe have had no other choice but to contact another air conditioning service company to resolve our problemMy parents were located to a family residence since this whole situation arose
I invest in buying properties throughout Florida, I will never say anything nice about this companyPlease don't waste your money buying a service contract with American Home Shield because they are reputable company to do busine** with
My next complaint about this company will be with the Naional R*** A**ociation and the way they service thier clientsIf this is the way they treat war time disable veterians how will they treat you

On Tuesday 11/22/my dryer went on fireAmerican Home Shield referred me to a company that could not accomodate an appointment after 4pmAfter days of calling them they finally assigned it to another company that came to repair said dryerThe dryer is completely burned insideAfter calling about times they have just informed me that they have chosen to repair that productThey have also informed me that effective weeks ago they no longer give cashout on productsTherefore, they have chosen to change the terms of my contract whenever they feel like it and chose to put my house at risk of a potential future fire by repairing a product that already went on fire oncePLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS COMPANY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PUTTING THEIR CLIENTS AT RISK!!!! As a NEVADA REALTOR I will never refer them again!!!

I have been with has since I found out this year they merged with American Home shieldsince this merge it has been an issue for me1st I went to renew my contract back in June I usually make the first pymt over the phone, and then request the bills to be mailed to me The rep stated this couldn't be done, and has never been doneI explained it has always been done for meshe insisted I was wrong 2nd about a month later I received a phone call from the sales dept asking me to renew my contractI explained that I had already talked to someone the month before and renewed it I also brought up about not being able to have the bills mailed out to meThe sales rep explained about the merger I said this is the first time I have heard about itthe customer service rep never explained that to me 3rd they ended up taking out the wrong amount that was agreed upon for the first pymt luckily I had mailed pymts in between I did get the contract paidNow we are in the end of Julyi have just finished having major surgery My boyfriend and I discovered the upstairs toiliet was leaking I called has/American home shield to file a claimThey said they would have a plumber call mei waited a week before I heard from this plumberhe was a total jerk he told me he didn't like the way the home warranty worked he explained it to me even though I already knew how it workedhe kept asking me if I really knew what was leaking, and if it was coveredi said everything is coveredhe wanted me to call back and make sure it was coveredhe proceeded to tell me that he didn't want to come and do a diagnosisif he came out, I would have to pay him, and then work it out with Americani said noi hung with him, and called Americani complained about this guyi explained I didn't want himthey promised they would set me up with someone elsemeanwhile they left a message to the plumbers office stating not to contact mei guess he never got it because he called again to set up a time to come outi said no I waited another week before American called only to find out they set me up with the same plumberi expressed that I didn't want this guyonly to be told the other plumber was backed upi was given the choice to either deal with this guy, or deal with the leak on my owni chose to deal with it on my owni was transferred to the area to cancel my claim which I did Now we are in Sept,and Octoberi am getting emails from American telling me that I owe moneyi finally called the other nightThe rep told me that I owe the service fee for the plumber coming outi said he never came outi explained everything to hershe put me on holdonly to come back and say he told them he came to my house but nobody was homehe left a message, which isn't trueshe went on to say I have to dispute this with the authorization dept I said noi am not doing anythingthey can just reverse it on their endi never had him come outi never received any messages from him it is between them and himi hung up on her they better not send me to collections otherwise we will have a real problem

Do not use American Home Warranty!!!! After purchasing a new property in Florida I decided to purchase a warranty with American Home Shield They quickly got me signed up and charged my credit card $ The horrible ordeal began when I called for service on my garbage disposal The contractor came out promptly said the disposal needed to be replaced but he had to get approval He said it would take minutes to install once he got approval Several days went by with no response so I called AHS AHS said it was approved but the contractor refused to replace it because it might damage the sink I then called the contractor he said AHS refused to pay I went back and forth for a week It was a he said she said situation After threating to cancel my policy AHS agreed to reimburse me for the $service fee and pay for a new garbage disposal that I was going to install myself I waited weeks for the $checkI called AHS was told it was mailed a few days ago but because it was Thanksgiving week there could be a delay I called again the following week and was told the check would not be cut until Dec 15th so it could be the first of the year before I received it During this process I left messages that were never returned The minimum time I waited on line to speak to a customer service rep was minutes each time I finally just cancelled the warranty It cost me $278!

My A/C quit working August AHS came at least times and finally changed to all new with my expense of over $This year April 2016, the brand new unit quit working againThey said the part is under warranty so they will cover itHowever I have to pay freon out of my pocket of $even though it's due to the parts failureI think AHS 1) Worst service you could ever expect with fruitless calls and repeating calls2) Replace original unit with the worst possible brand/product3) Least coverage so they make profit out of frequent repairsIt's NOT a fair company at allAvoid at all time!!!
