This company has terrible customer service Recently we put in a service request because our sump pump went out during heavy rain and melting snow We were told we had to wait over days before someone could come out because their hour emergency service meant business hours and would not include weekends When I questioned that policy the customer service rep got mad and hung up on me I ended up having to pay another company out of pocket to fix the problem

We have had a home warranty plan with American Home Shield (AHS) for approximately years We have had some issues with repair request in the past but our most recent issue has been horrific I made a service request on 08/12/due to our air conditioning unit not cooling AHS assigned G [redacted] Home Services for our repair G [redacted] came out on 08/16/and the repairment walked around to the side of my home and came back within minutes He said the unit was cooling correctly because it was so hot outside I refused to pay him for the service call because I told him there was no way he had time to even check my unit I called AHS and they informed me that I had to pay the $service feeI paid and filed a complaint as well as talked to a supervisor They informed me that they would call me back but no one contacted me I waited for a month although my unit was not cooling and contacted AHS again because the temperatures were now cooler at night I explained what had happened and that I was still having the same issue so they said they would send G [redacted] out againG [redacted] failed to contact me the next week so I contacted them myself and they said AHS had not put in the requestSo I called AHS again and put in another request I then contacted G [redacted] myself the next day and they said they could not come out until 10/08/because their repairman for my area was out ill The repairman that came out on 10/08/informed us that we indeed had a leak and now needed a coil because the leak was so bad but that he could not stay to do it because it was late and on a Friday! He informed me that they would contact me on Monday to set up another appt.and that he could not explain why the first repairman did not see the issue I called and complained to a supervisor at AHS and she said they would purchase me some fans for the weekend Then on Monday, I contacted G [redacted] and she said their repairman for Murfreesboro could come back out on 11/11/ The repair just left my home on 11/11/and said that he would have G [redacted] contact us because we now had a really expensive repair because the unit had been out of coolant for awhile due to the leak I am furious because I reported my issue on 08/12/and complained on 08/16/that the repairman had not check my unit but no one would listen to me For months I have called and complained with no assistance from AHS I have been told each time that someone would call me back! I am still waiting for a call form AHS

I am most unhappy with my recent transaction and plan to cancel my policy as soon as this claim is settled First of all the plumber they sent to replace my water heater was dishonest and should not even be working for them He tried to tell me that he would need to replace the two water lines and alter the pipes and therefore need to charge me an additional $to do this on top of the $service call I spoke to different plumbers and they said that was all just part of the installation of any water heater and all quoted me the same price of $total to install a new water heater He was totally trying to scam me At the point he left I had been without hot water for days and had to do something right away I immediately called different plumbers to ask them if this was and how much they charged After confirming that the plumber was lying, I contracted with one of the plumbers I had called and he installed it the next day It took him less than hours to do the entire job and he reused the copper lines that were there as there was absolutely nothing wrong with them he said And even if he had had to replace them, it would have cost an additional $for the lines and nothing extra for the installation as he said that was part of any water heater installation I then waited more days for their representative to finally call and offer me a measly $which she said was AFTER taking out the $for the service call where the dishonest plumber did NOTHING except to give me a bogus estimate No one informed me that I would have to pay the $service call even though he did not do anything If I had known that, I would have at least had him replace the leaking faucet in my shower which was part of the service call! But instead I got NOTHING done for the service fee Most legitimate businesses give free estimates AHS should not be paying this company for an ESTIMATE, and they should not be charging me in turn I understand that they can buy the water heaters wholesale, but the fact that they are only allowing a total of $total for the unit AND the installation, tells me that they are not paying the plumber a fair rate (or anything????) for the installation which is why he tried to overcharge me the additional $225! And that is on top of the $service fee I was paying, so he was basically charging me double what every other plumber charges for installing a water heater Luckily, my contract is up in June and I do not intend to renew this policy I will be shopping for a new Home Warranty company

To anyone thinking of g [redacted] Home Warranty Insurance, Please do not use "American Home Shield" I have used them for two years and have had nothing but very frustrating experiences with their quality of service and customer careI am highly disappointed and disenchanted with the whole idea of Home warranty ProtectionTheir Motto is: "Life happens, have a plan"Well whatever you do, Not their Plan! When you call to request service you are on hold for long periods of time, yes you can request service online but there is nowhere in the request to let them know the extent of your damageWhen you finally get someone on the phone they assigned a Contractor without even understanding your home locationI have made service calls and two of them I was assigned contractors not even in the same area codeSo after waiting for a contractor to call me and do repairs for over hoursCome to find out that that contractor is out of my service area and will not take my jobSo, I ended up waiting another hours for another contractor to come and do the repairsThe people they send are not professional at all, which makes me think they don't do any research when selecting their contractorsThey come and look at the situation, and leave without calling you to let you know what was foundEven though I have personally asked for this at every callThey charge $just to come out regardless! On 4-21-I placed a service request because of a water leak from the ceilingI told them it was the water heater leakingThey send a company called E [redacted] H [redacted] J [redacted] , Two guys came out open the attic door and said it was not their problem, that the issue was a roof leak(Item not covered in the warranty)Called a roof repair and paid them to add additional sealer to the water heater Stack pipeOn 12-06-my kitchen was flooded with water coming from the same spot as beforeThe water heater is leaking profusely and the ceiling is collapsingCalled AHS again and reported it and they did not consider this an emergencyThey assigned a contractor from another area code, who never called to schedule an appointment, when I called him his phone was disconnectedNow it is pm everyone is closed and I have a leak in the house, ceiling falling pieces at a time and, now I am very concern because we are talking about a gas heater and a possible open flameI had to pay an independent contractor to come and turn the water off to the heater and the secure the gas line to ensure the safety of my familyI called AHS to report this and I received no sympathy for my situationI gave them several names of contractors within minThey finally assign another contractor to call me within hours...There we go againNow I have to pay another $for them to tell me that my water heater needs replacing which should have been done 4-21-16, and because it is over days since the last call, they will not waive the service call feeI have a lot of damage to my home due to the negligence of the contractors used by AHS and there is no one to voice my concerns to because all you get is a Call Center personnel from some part of the world (that apparently don't have a clue about how BIG TEXAS is) with scripted answers and robotic attitudes I bought this insurance precisely for unexpected emergencies like this and for peace of mindWhich I have not receivedMy son and his wife who live in the house constantly have to take time from work to wait for someone just to come in and tell them is not their problem and charge $ If crying would help I would be crying, but I am so upset about this entire nightmare that I think I need to tell everyone and save someone else from making the same mistake

This company uses highly deceptive practicesThey state that many facets are covered, but then exclude all possible situations where those items would need coverageI have submitted multiple claims and each time a claim is submitted I pay a $service feeThe website asks what type of service is requested and once selected sends a repOn every occasion, the rep then explains why that service isn't covered based on the clauses of the contractThis company is deceiving consumers and not covering even the most basic situations for covered items under the contractSo far, on top of the $cost of the policy, the plan has cost me hundred more than would have been the case if I would've directly hired the contractorsThis company has excluded all instances where coverage would be required, and is extremely deceptiveThey deserve an F rating from the Revdex.com

I have just bought my new home, my agent advised to get this insurance from AMS (600$ per year) to avoid any bad experience with appliances in the new house I have a built in double oven with conviction which turn to be randomly failing I called them, they tried fixing it twice but in both visits the recommendation was getting new one They got me a new one with same specification, model and dimension, Its MSRP value is 4, All I have to pay was 75$, which is the fees for any visit

I moved in the new house, the center heater boke, and requested the servicedthe people they sent out cannot fixedthen they though me they needed to order new parts, and come out again, again and again for weeks nowthe heater still brokethis is a cold winterthis is just a joke

I purchased a policy for my new homeMy home had a severe plumbing issue that caused my home to be uninhabitableAfter days of waiting for AHS to process my request for service, AHS could stated they could not find a plumber, so we hired someone on our ownWe did not have authorization, so we were not refunded Next, my refrigerator started having issues, so I contacted AHSThis time, we were supposed to wait days for a technicianWe could not wait days without refrigeration for a technician to come to simply diagnose the situation and then to recommend a solutionI called and requested to cancel the policy for a full refundSince tAHS was unable to perform, I was promised a full refund since I had never used the benefits I called AHS after July 13th, weeks after my May 29th conversation with AHS, and was told to be patient for the refund check to arrive; that it could take 10-business days for the check to be processed Now, days later, I called and was told that I was not due a refund since I canceled the policy after days of owning it, and even though AHS could not perform The agent Antoniette in TN is rudeThis is a dishonest company

My first call was for plumber who came and said he fix my leaking pipe Six or seven months later same pipe leaking and ring he put on pipe was rusted through I called AHS and they said would send same contractor out to fix leak again and it would only cost my regular service fee I felt this was wrong, that it should have been fixed correctly the first time and I should not have to pay again to fix the same problemAmerican Home Shield disagreed, so I told them not to renew contract when expired I also had a service request in which is taking a month to fix now Am on 2nd contractor who does not answer phone I would not recommend this company to anyone It seems like a scam Every six months you are paying for the same repairs over and over

I would never recommend this company o any one...the worst customer service ever, I had such a horrible experience with this insurance company, three times I had an issue with my appliances, once was on last february when I called the insurance and after long time of waiting they sent a tycehnician to my apartment to check my Ac, tehy came in and diagnosed a lick in system and just changed a washer and charged my $for the gas and additional $ service fee, as soon as they left I tried it few times and never worked right then I called them a month later and their technician withouth even going to the roof and check the system pout A [redacted] and off and told me its gone be ok....it happened that I didnt use my AC heater again till recentlt just few months after and it doesnt work at all, called them again needs to mention every single time you call them at least 50-minutes they put you on hold, finally they sent some otehr tcheniciacin and guess waht he diagnosed lickig again and they asked me to pay$ for gas again and $ service fee...they never fix something for the fisrt time and within few months problem was back and they wanted to charge me again and again ....you can not belive it tool me five times to call their customer service and asked to talk to manager I was on hold for minimum one hour and never ***nected me to amager and took care of my complain!!!!!!!! its terrible company the worst ever coudl imagine...need to mention one other tiem I had to call for my electricisty, I didnt have any electrisity for one week in my kitchen becasue they couldnt scheulde me with their technician so I ahd to call an electrician outside to come and fix it beside that I called another AC comapny and came and check my AC heater and they told me that their technician didnt fix anything jusy made me to pay for refrigrator gas and it was emptied in few months becasue they didnt even fix the licking issue>>>..I called them today to cancel my plan and even for cancellation I had to stay on phone for minutes......pleas eplease dont trust this company ....JE

This company is awfulEven when a contractor determines your appliance is not fixable AHS will avoid replacing your item by not sending you claim information or answering any callsHold times are routinely over two hours to reach anyone and then they give you no information(two hours after the recording says it will be minutes)American Home Shield is in the premium collection businessThat is all they do

We had an American Home Shield home service warranty that was supposed to cover the air conditioning system, including the duct work. American Home Shield's local contractor for a/c work was A [redacted] . When we had a problem we contacted American Home Shield who referred us to A [redacted] . They sent a technician who was too fat to fit through the attic scuttle to inspect the ducts. They responded to American Home Shield that the attic was not accessible. When I found out I contacted A [redacted] and asked that they send someone of smaller girth, as I was easily able to access the attic. Although they said they would, they never did. We tried contacting them and American Home Shield a number of times and finally gave up on both.

American Home Shield is a complete sham! Do not invest your money My Frigidaire had two issues and the 'technician' that AHS sent to assess and 'fix' the issue ended up costing me retail of over $to cover the repairs NO WARRANTY APPLIED They are full of ***! Don't do it! Save your money!

Do not find comfort by covering your home by this company Furnace heat exchange unit went out, they made every excuse in the book to decline a new furnace Including that the year old 75,BTU UNIT WAS TOO MUCH FOR MY SQUARE FOOTAGEWell, they took my money for years and never asked about my BTU's or Square Feet Of course BTU's where higher and less efficient years ago weeks of trying to reach a human, paperwork lag, (they never receive a fax, don't bother, even if they give you a fax number) Dead of winter no heat Finally paid $2,to installer of my choice, turned in the receipt and they offered me $cash-in-liu, what they say was their cost to buy and install a new furnace Really? Try itTowards the end I had to get authorization to buy a more efficient furnace of lesser BTU, and was told "Of course! Today's furnaces are more efficient, buy whatever BTU you want" The check cleared and they are fired

Huge scamNothing is covered and it cost you $out of pocket each time to find that outThis is ridiculous that this scam is allowed to br continuedShame on themWow!!

I purchased a house & received a home warranty through American Home Shield; I thought I was lucky!! Needless to say I have had to use them & it has never been pleasantI've had to wait weeks with no A/C & go without hot waterIt takes them forever it seems to approve repairs & there are always items not covered which end up costing you more than the warranty itselfI definitely will not be renewing!!

This company advertises protection for your home against damages, however, when the consumer reports damages they do not have providers and cancel services requests while continuing to debit your bank accountDo not waste your money here

I have an AHS contract I am in the process of trying to get repairs on my oven The initial repair appointment was fine, but now that the oven needs to be replaced (it's not fixable), I can't get any help I've tried calling them or times, and each time I've had to hold for a minimum of minutes, once for over a hourTwice I had to disconnect (I hadn't expected to hold for that long and had to leave), once they said they'd have to call back (they did, left a message and phone number, which only put me back into the long wait line) and twice they transferred me to another extended wait, but then I was disconnected It seems that now that they will have to pay for something, they won't talk to me

American Home Shield is following fraudulent business practice by cooking up wrong reasons to deny the repairIn my case, the microwave caught fire while heating the food and the service technician at the time of visit very clearly stated that it can't be repaired and needs to be replaced American Home Shield is saying it is not wear and tear and hence we will not cover itI can't imagine they can make such irresponsible and fraudulent statementWhat for am I paying for warranty then? Lets go to court and figure out if business should be allowed this way

This warranty insurance is horrible!!! We have had our AC out for almost two weeksIn order to have it fixed we have to call so many times to schedule a service call and they have the worst vendersEspecially ***! We sprays have to wait weeks at a time to have one of their venders come out and american home shield states it's pretty much out of their control and need to contact the venderAmerican home shield is not only a joke, they have very rude, poor customer service Representative! We have warranty also on a rental and our tenants went over a month before their AC was fixed due to going back and forth with american home shield and their vendersDo not waste your time with this company it will only give you a headache!!
