I used AHS once and found that I can manage finding someone on the internet to do the job myself instead of paying $for the service call and the monthly $fee plus parts and laborOnce I figured this out I tried to cancel so I read the internet site for AHS on how to cancel and the only way is to call themSo, I called them and cancelledA month later I received a bill for $so I called them and they said they would take care of it don't worry about itNow I have a bill for $and they say I have to speak to the retention department so the nice lady at AHS tried to connect me and she could not get through to them and its in the afternoonI asked if I could email them and they said no the only way is to callThey make it so had to cancel service and the make it so inconvenient for you at the same time still charging you until its fully cancelledDo not get service with this company its a scamIf you want a discount for appliances its cheaper not to use t

First of all, every time I try to get in touch with a customer service representative it is an average of minute wait time - very frustratingThe service people that they have contracted are less than qualityLast year I had a problem with my refrigerator - it took months for that to be resolvedThe fact that it was during Thanksgiving holidays did not matter to themThe people that they sent out didn't know what they were doingOne company took our washing machine apart and didn't know how to put it back togetherOf course AHS replaced that appliance but now they are holding that against usTheir service fees have been raised to the highest of all the home warranty companies that we've called latelyAfter being a member for years, they cancelled us saying that they've spent over $150,on us, which is impossibleAfter challenging them to give us a specific list of items that would have cost that much, they finally admitted that they had a glitch in their system Those are only a few issues that I have encountered with this companyLooking forward to changing

We have rental properties that we insure through this companyIt is normally difficult to get things done through them as we live 1,miles away from the properties We have had eventual success using them before However it appears we will have to hire our own appliance repair company to go in and dismantle the stovetop that is broken in order to give AHS they serial number and info for replacing the stove top unit Their "repair man" back in November said he was ordering a part for it We got the royal run around and long story short their repair company could not be contacted by us or AHS after much trying AHS claims however that it is not required of the repair company to get the info they need to get us a new stove top ordered and installed This has dragged on almost months now I'd rate this as a negative experience even if we eventually get the info they should already have for which we already paid for in the initial service call If this doesn't resolve this week I'll file a formal complaint Very negative situation

I recently changed to American Home Shield They said they did not send contracts until first payment but I was interest in this new HAVAC government ruling They assured me that the contract I was getting took care of all replacement parts AND IF NEEDED A NEW CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONERWhen I turned on my air it did not work, I received a contract in the mail and it covered $a pound on freon and if the unit had to replaced it covered only $ I am and on Social Security and that is the reason I wanted a Home Warranty An air conditioner like I have will cost $3000- to $and freon is $to $a pound I feel that I was lied to and I am canceling my policy immediatelyI hope I can keep some other person from paying out funds and not getting return I had it fixed locally today for $If I had called them it would have been $for the service call plus a part and several pounds of freon [redacted] talks says do no puchase a Home WarrantyThey are no good

Run as fast as you can! I have been trying to get a refund for a repair that they gave an outside authorization for I put out almost $to a licensed, authorized repair company They called and got the approval for the repair before performing the service I sent all the requested information required for my refund to American Home Shield They acknowledged that they received it Yet almost two months later I have not been paid I have made multiple phone calls to them Been lied to, gotten different versions of what is happening, and even been told to resubmit everything even though they acknowledge receipt of the refund paperwork and a message on my answering machine saying they are processing the refund within five to ten days That was over ten days ago Never all back when they say they will Was told on last call they have not processed anything and want me submit it all again!!!

The warranty costs a lot and you will not get a goodservice provider when you need service IF you even get serviceThere customer service reps are rude and are no help in getting your service arranged telu of at allThey don't care once they have your money They can't find good s Devi e people so you get someone from another city that has toTravel over an hour to your home they don't give you the service they sold youAnd they make sure the providers don't replace anything no matter what the situationDon't buy the jaw warranties fr this companyAnd be caref the realtors are Connected to them and force this company on you

I have called them out on two different issues and both times have not been happyFirst time maybe right but handling badly with a water issueWe made to repair and paid an inflated rate for what they did, but workers were greatSecond call several months later was horribleTook three visits and none resolved completely/mainly because each person didn't know what they were supposed to do and did not have things to correct the problem or what they were suppose to doIf you think that is vague you will know how I felt!

American home shield is a terrible companyThey do not honor the terms of you contractThey claim that items that can be repaired will be replaced but in reality this only applies to smaller lower cost itemsIt takes a very long time to get someone on the phone and they never resolve any issues There is no follow up after a service call and when an appliance isn't repaired properly, they just keep sending the same company regardless of the resultsMy AC unit has been out for over months, the company they sent never fixed the problem never even diagnosed it properly and never came back to finish the jobThey came several time with no results, yet AHS insists on sending them regardless of their poor performance and won't allow for another company to come

Trying to get service from this company is very difficultOnline service requests were down last week and I waited minutes to talk to someone in service (the recording said it would be mins) and the staff member was very dismissive of my concerns

First off let me start by saying teying to get ahold of them is like calling EDDI eas on hold for minutes last night twice! And I still cant get a answer when someone will come fix my dryerThere customer service is horrible and there communication with the company doing uour repair is horribleI have them on my rental as well as my personal residenceIts time to switch I will be canceling my service just do to the fact I cant even get ahold of anyone

We have been a customer of American Home Shield for over yearsConsistently we have found that any repair person that has answered our calls for assistance and repairs has made return visits to complete repairsWe have found that 90% of the repair vendors are unprofessional and incompetent in their repairsThis has required return visitsWe have had this with our refrigerator(s), clothing washer and dryer, air conditioner(s) and other household itemsTo pay a monthly fee and NOT receive a phone call back about an air conditioner that has nor been over days to be repaired has drawn the line for us as customersWe have left a number of voicemail's, and no return call from AHS for over two weeksOur air conditioner still isn't repaired and we are going through summer without help from AHSIf there is another company that competes with AHS, please let us know!

On 9/1, we opened an online ticket to fix our air conditioner (AC). On 9/3, a technician (from R [redacted] ) was dispatched to evaluate and assess the problem. He diagnosed various parts are non functioning and it is more cost efficient to replace the entire unit. On 9/8 when we still had not heard back from either AHS or their contracted vendor, my husband called to follow up. On 9/9, AHS agreed that the ball had been dropped by their vendor (not taking responsibility for the fact that AHS had also dropped the ball by not following up with their vendor to ensure that their service level agreement is met). Another vendor was dispatched (Advanced Heating & Cooling). On 9/12 a tech from A [redacted] validated the previous assessment. On 9/13 I had to follow up since I had not received any response from either companies. After talking to several different people and pushing not only for action but also setting expectations that AHS should be my single point of contact (my contract is with them, and I pay them every month), I was told the parts are ordered and was promised a call back on 9/14 with an estimated delivery date of equipment at their vendor's site. On 9/15 I called back as I had not received a call back as promised. After an hour of being passed around, I was told they ETA for equipment delivery is 9/21, at which time a crane would be scheduled as well as a technician. Due to AHS' lack of follow up and refusal to work on things in parallel, we will end up waiting for nearly an month till our AC is fixed. And by the way, we live in Southern Cal and have to live with the heat...this Sunday the weather is expected to reach triple digits again.

I am a tenant of a house in Loveland OhioThe dishwasher broke weeks ago and my landlord has a contract with American Home Shield, so she started the process to replace the dishwasherI had to go through 100+ phone calls for 1) A professional adviser to approve the replacements, 2) an order to be placed with AHS, 3) a shipping company to receive the appliance from GE, 4) the shipping company to deliver the appliance, 5) the installation company, 6) a technician who told me this is the cheapest dishwasher in the market and apartment rated and can not be installed in a house and returned it, 7) all the process from scratch and at the end I noticed that AHS will only provide that specific cheap type dishwasherAnd all of this had to be done through AHS, with long wait times of their customer serviceAnd now we just passed weeks and I still do not have that same cheap dishwasher installed!!! Probably need to wait another 2-weeks!

I had a poor experience with AHSDifficult to speak with any customer service managerThey are never available immediately, the answering customer support member is required to send an email to escalate callsThe supervising customer support will contact you in hours which never happensThere is no personalizationThere is no transparencyIf you are a detailed person with a busy career AHS would not be a good fitI recommend no one uses this companyYour pay for services is money in the company's pocket, unfortunately the company does not seem to value their customersIt's unfortunate for AHS, the company at one point was fantasticNot sure what happened to its vision or missionNo moral ethnicsSo sadNeedless to say I will carefully research other companies as I leave this companyHopefully, the CEO will learn of the many dissatisfied customers who choose to never pay for services through AHS, and consider changing key processes to improve customer satisfactionPlease do not make the same mistake I made, throughly research home warrenty companies

I have been with AHS since and when I n***ed them for a plumbing problem I did not get any thing but I know how you feel , I understand how you feelBut no helpI called in a request on Sunday night, received email with info on the Cothat had received my request, got home Monday night they had not called my wife who is home all day, so I called them and was told they only do work in my area on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and both were full for this week would be next weekI called AHS and advised I have been spending nights in hotels , lade called R [redacted] out of st joe mo and they will expedite and get it Tuesday after 3pm, Great , Tuesday at 6pm called R [redacted] Co will not get to it tonight and most likely not wed but will try??? Wed comes call R [redacted] Cohave not been able to get ahold of boss to see IF he can make it tonight but most likely NOTCalled AHS talked to more people than I could write down was advised sorry but no one to call, I could call someone and pay up front then they will reimburse mebeen staying the night in hotels at a night were do I have money to spend don't even have money to sp [redacted] for one tonight so will be going to gas stations to use the bathroom NO shower and have to workjust more run around POOR SERVICE ,now want me to pay for the service ????? what do I do now

This company, along with the companies they contract out, (**A A [redacted] B [redacted] A [redacted] LLC) are professional liarsI have never dealt with a company that is as unprofessional as these two areThey wi [redacted] te [redacted] you everything you want to hear to make you feel good about the situation, but what they te [redacted] you is anything but the truthI have been without A/C for days nowBoth companies have been te**ing me there wi [redacted] be a technician out today but then hours later the tech wi [redacted] ca [redacted] and give the most ridiculous excuses as to why he can't make it outThe best excuse was from a Tech named Jeff 813-850-On day he told me that he wouldn't be able to make it out today because of the rainNorma**y, I would tota**y understand that to be a reasonable excuse, only problem on this day was it wasn't rainingNor did it rain within miles of my location The short of this review/complaint is, do not use AHS or **A A [redacted] B [redacted] A [redacted] LLCIt honesty feels like I have been scammed out of the $i paid for AHS coverage I now took it upon myself to find a A/C company to come out and wi [redacted] be paying out of my pocket for their repair services when I should have has repair already done through AHS I would like AHS to reimburse me the amount of the invoice I have from the outside A/C repair company I had to use

This company is horrible, there is not customer support have been on hold for more th minutes over the last two weeks!! Still no communication I am paying for absolutely no service

This is the worst home warranty experience I have ever had to go throughWhoever is looking for a reliable and professional home warranty do not get mislead by American Home shield's claims about reliability, professionalism and efficiency We had a major air conditioner problem at our house so we called and initiated a claimThe technician who contracts with American Home shield came and checked out the situation and his recommendation was to change the entire ACThe temperature at our house was degrees on that day and our year old boy was sick with acute respiratory viral infectionThe technician said that he will send the report to the company and get this fixed within the next hoursDespite our daily phone calls to the technician who was assigned this job, he never answered his phone for daysThe 4th day after his visit and while our baby was struggling with our home temperatures between and degrees throughout the day and night, we called american home shield and they said that they can't reach that technicianThey had not even received a report about the diagnosis days later! Knowing that our home temperatures were unbearable and there was a major health risk on our baby, American home shield could not offer any other alternatives before a long labor day weekendI requested that a manager calls me twice and she never didI am not even mentioning that I had to wait min and min on the line each time I had to talk to their useless customer service representativesThey kept saying that they can't do anything and they have to stick with their "guidelines"! despite knowing how urgent the situation is! American home shield does not have an urgent backup plan for urgent situationsPlease do not be fooled by their claims that they have 24/serviceThis is absolutely not true We are now enduring unbearably hot temperatures at our house throughout labor day weekend despite the fact that the AC problem was identified days ago! A similar problem happened in the winter time with our heaterIt took them days to repair our heater during the coldest days of the yearThere is absolutely no consideration for the pain and suffering that the customer has to endure while waiting for their process to work! Completely unreliable and unprofessional

We recently bought a home that was years old Recently we returned home from work and found no hot water We call AHS and was sent an email that a tech would get in touch with us, then have to call and get approval before ever starting the work We have small children and being with out hot water all weekend was not an option so we call a tech on our own and paid $to have it fixed with in a couple hours AHS tech called me back at am the next day After canceling the service AHS told me They would not be reimbursing since I did not "wait" and use thier contractor This makes thier Home protection contract useless in my option on some appliances they offer protection on
