American Home Shield sent out a plumber to fix a leak in our houseThe plumber did not collect the service fee, and he said that he could not access the pipesThis is not true as another plumber (sent by this company) has accessed that area beforeUnwilling to cut into the side of my house I called American Home Shield after long holds my call was "dropped" twiceSince our water was turned off for this leak, and we were due to leave on vacation we paid a plumber to fix this leakOn return from vacation American Home Shield are requesting a service payment for the faulty advice to remove siding from our homeI called and after minutes, mostly on hold, I was told I should have requested a second opinion (which could have incurred a second service fee) when I called initially and that they offer no higher resolution serviceApparently I should have known this but I couldn't access the contract on their website as the plumber didn't collect the service fee and hence my account was suspendedIn addition the customer service representative made no attempt to make contact after dropping my callI did call them back was dropped again
I am happy to pay the service fee of $as long as they pay for my out of pocket expenses of $for my plumber - their plumber was quoting $for the fix (he was planning to return when we had cut away the siding)

I have had a warranty with American Home Shield for yrs., the first year was because we bought the house and the previous owner had to buy a warranty as part of the saleThe second year I purchased it because we hadn't really needed to use the warranty yet, but didn't want to get caught in a bad situationThe bad situation would have been cheaper and MUCH more timelyThe people they send out to do the repairs are usually questionable and I got/get lots of excuses as to why the problem won't be fixed for daysThe ladies that take the calls when you call the company to question the status of the repair are full of attitude and catch phrases to blow you offI definitely won't be purchasing anything from AHS againI feel like I have been SO misled and given the run-aroundThey do the absolute bare minimum to help you and take however long they please to do anythingThey work with people who could care less about doing a good job while working on your houseI have been lied to by AHS and their contractor(s), the whole sis very unprofessional! Much to be desired!!!! When I asked to speak with someone else, someone with more authority, they just hung up on me....twice

Not so happy with American Home shieldI had a bad experienceThey paid for a service I did not receiveI tried talking to them and the company they paid and neither one of the wanted to.listenI had trouble scheduling an appointment when I needed one and the company still send a technician out to my house before I could be there and was charged for thatI was very specific when I scheduled my appointment about the hrs I could be thereI'm being charged for a service I didn't received

We have used our AHS warranty twice since we have had the warranty, and have been pleased both timesWe submitted a trouble call for our heat pump (on a weekend) to AHS and received a call from a contractor in less than hours The contractor was very easy to communicate with and prompt when scheduling an appointment to look into our problem The contractors were very knowledgable, helpful, and able to accurately trouble shoot the problem Again, we have been pleased with the service of AHS and the contractors they use

I had the worst experience with American Home ShieldMy water heater let go and needed to call they first sent out a plumber that took 2+ weeks of trying to communicate with him to tell me he was swamped and couldn't do it Then the next company came out and did it but completely wrong No hot water, pressure or heat It took months and I had had it so I had it fixed by someone who knew what they were doing Cost $out of pocket

On June 22, 2015, I contacted AHS to request service to an AC unit not blowing cool air my rental property Each time I have contacted the agency over the the past three weeks it has taken 30-minutes to get a live staff on the lineI was told that a vendor would not be able to go out for hours On June 23, 2015, Jeff with Harkins AC Heating & Controls examined the unit and provided a statement indicating that he "checked attic and there was no deck in front of the furnacecondenser was 95% obstructed due to FIN Damage alleging abuse and too much damage to even get an accurate Rreading." The contractor took pictures of the damaged Sheetrock in the attic; nothing to do with the condenser not blowing cool air And the damage coils does not prevent him from putting the gauge on the suction line to get an accurate R-reading As of July 1, AHS has not replaced the unitI need assistance with getting this company to service my unit

This is the worst company for costumer serviceAll who answer the phone must be trained to frustrate the customerMy AC unit was not working they sent a repairman he recommended that the unit be replaced I paid him the $service feeThen they sent someone out who came to review the replacement cost of the unitI received options, all of which would incur an out of pocket cost from $to $without a detail explanation of what those costs areI waited for hours in the next couple of days for an explanation or email as to what the cost areFinally someone told me that they would mail me the explanation of the cost breakdown, its been days no mailIt is August in Tampa and I have one of my AC units outI finally decide to call an AC contractor his price to replace the unit is $Now if AHS can deliver on the replacement cost of my unitI will have a working air conditioner a month laterI will write follow up review
My personal opinion is this company is a scamThey worked out prices with their contractors and pass the cost on to the consumerAHS did not want to answer the cost breakdown questionI am so frustrated!!!!!!!

I have been with AHS for years and I wish I would have left them years ago but this is the last and final straw I have a microwave that went out on Jan I put in a request for service to AHS on that day but no one could come look at it until JanOnce the technician got there he looked and said he needed to order a part The part should be back in 3-days and they would call me when it was there to set up appointment to install No one calls for a week So I call the contractor company to for a status They say they never received a part So I call AHS to see what happened and they said they shipped the part but could not locate where it might be so they would reorderI waited another week contacted the contractor again They didn't receive itI called AHS again and they said it was never ordered but they would order it this timeThis was on Feb so they said call Monday morning and they would give me the tracking number so I could track it tooI called again on Feb MondayThey said they could not locate the tracking number but if I could call back tomorrow they could give it to me Sounded to me like they didn't order it againSo I called the next day and they had a tracking number for me The part finally got to the contractor by Feb The contractor came to put the part in on march a week laterAlmost months after the initial problem startedIt gets better The contractor put the part in but did not connect a cable inside of the microwave the controlled the stove exhaust fan So I call the contractor to see if he can comeback to see why the fan was not coming on that was working up until the day he came to put the part in He said he would but it had to go through AHS So I call AHS and they say this is another ticket so I would have to pay another co paymentEven though this is and issue with the same appliance he just took apart And this part of the appliance was working before he took it apartAlso you have days warranty on the repair How could they even suggest that I would have to pay another co payment on the same appliance I asked to speak to a supervisor about this and the person assisting me put me on hold for minutes and never came back to the phone to see if I wanted to continue to wait or even let me know what was going on I was tempted to leave this company years ago because I knew the service was not what I felt it should be I will no longer patronize a company like this who is not about customer service at allThis company's customer service is far worse than any company I have had to do business with before There are far better companies that provide faster service at a better rate Look around before you sign up for anything with AHS

We requested AC repair on June 17th (Wednesday) and no one has been scheduled to repair it to dateI am writing this on Friday night (June 19th) and we have yet to receive an appointment time from a vendor! From the looks of it, we will have to wait until next weekThe entire family, including an infant have been displaced from the bedrooms on the 2nd floor because it is so unbearably hotSuch poor level of service is unacceptable and AHS must locate additional vendors to cover peak seasons in AC and heating repairsDuring the numerous calls to AHS, we were told that AC repair companies are very busy in the summer and we are in a queue to be scheduledOf course, AC repairs are in high demand in the summer! Oh, I forgot to mention that we are in Georgia and the temps outside are pushing 90(F)We have been loyal customers of AHS for several years and have policies on multiple propertiesThis is extremely disappointing

I have been a customer for my home and real estate properties for easily years Their customer service has been adequate but lately has been horrendous to the point where I am going to research a new company for this service
No matter what time you call, you will wait minutes and each time you speak to a customer service agent, you get a different story I had am still waiting for a resolution on a repair/replacement of my appliance since the service provider came over days ago He reported in that the appliance was not repairable and AHS is still looking for parts?? They told me it would be resolved within 3-business days and clearly we have surpassed this time frame
Latest update was they were trying to call the service provider back to see why it is a bad repair Good gosh, make a decision already Consumers can't go over days without an appliance just waiting for resolution
I will say that the actual customer service people are very nice on the phone but are only the messenger, their is definitely something broken behind the scenes when trying to get a resolution
My recommendation is to shop around a different provider

July 7, contact with AHS report Spent minutes on holdOperator did pass along work order competently
July 8, needed to change work order, couldn't wait the minutes for a human so went online to my account Account "loading" notice until time out
Second try later in the day- after timeout required new login: signed in with proper email and correct passwordWebsite dumped me back to login times without error notice
While waiting for customer service rep on phone, I was continually bombarded with requests to use the online service to submit work requestsNaturally, the online site doesn't work except to solicit new contractsA company doesn't make money by spending it, only by taking it in!
I still have AHS contracts but am awaiting a good class action law suit to join in and recoup all my years of payments
Lesson for AHS- it isn't always cheaper to pay out on the occasional lawsuit rather than satisfy customers, when the really able lawyers get on it, a CA suit will cost a bundle

Please call me immediatelyI have called ten times in 12hrs to check on the status of an expedited order on my furnaceIt is 25F outside and the furnace has been out all night and dayMy kids are freezingEven after making this an expedited service, neither AHS nor the contractor, Temp-a-cure Inc, has called meThis is the second time you have done this

I can't believe American Home Shield has received some of these good ratings....They do not have a minute time period for a contractor to respond to your home emergency and/or repair!! They say they give the contractor/company hours to respond to your emergency......If the company calls you back within that time period, that is considered ok....but nooooo....they just put you on a list for a repair person to go out and check...not even fix it...just review, then they put you on their repair schedule!!! Let me top the last couple of reviewsI .called American Shield who called G*** W***....after two days of waiting, they showed up, installed a re-built motor and left....never checked to see if it was working My pool guy comes by on Monday, motor not working....call Am Shield who calls G*** W***...again days wait, they say it is the relay switch and leave my pool guy comes by & states relay switch is working, it is the motor...by now the pool is greener than green....I call Am Shield who calls G*** W***...again days wait, they say it is not their fault that the rebuilt motor does not work, they will be there thursday......this whole issue has taken weeks....can you believe how bad our pool looks:(( I finally tell my pool guy to install a new , not re-built motor, chemically treat the pool and pray it looks good for gu***s coming.....$+ $+ $ for him to install a new motor, treat pool and come back again to make sure everything is working properly....THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE ON THE 'DO NOT CALL' LIST FOR ANY BUSINESSi AM writing another review on yelp to warn people about G*** W*** as well as American Home Shield

there is no use buying this policy they never take your claim I will never use them again they come out to check the problem charge $then turn you down the is no refundable I paid $for the policy now I,m out $this company needs to be out of business

Our HVAC system was leaking water into the plenum box under the unitThe cause of the problem was a cracked condensation drain line somewhere in the plenum under the HVAC unitAHS was presented with two options by the technicianOne was to repair the existing PVC tubing which would require the cutting of drywall and the plenumThe second option was to run a new condensation drain line to avoid drywall and plenum accessAHS refused both, stating option one was not covered because the issue was not readily accessible as they would need to remove and replace the drywall and plenumOption was rejected as it was a "modification to an existing system"After much debate the conversation ended with no repairs being performed after paying for the warranty and a $service feeIf this were a plumbing issue it would have been covered; however, apparently a pipe carrying water connected to an HVAC is not plumbing
Steer clear of this company, they are not in business to provide you with piece of mind on your home purchase and use their caveats to ensure they can justify doing nothing

The worse experience ever! I have a washing machine that they have fixed twice and now they want me to pay another $decuctible because I was one day late with reporting my claimI dont wash clothes everyday so for me to realize that my washing machine isnt working within the days that they allow is crazyI dont expect for the machine to tear up after days! There was no consideration for the fact that my claim came in day lateThis is a waste of my money and I suggest that you just save your money and dont bother wasting it$on a washing machine? I could have bought a new one!

We have two properties covered by AHS Every time we need service it is extremely time consuming to talk to someone on the phone, they are not responsive to the problems and multiple visits from their contractors are usually required to fix a problem They have been here six times for our dishwasher and the latest issue has taken over a week and they don't even have parts ordered to fix it yet
How do they rate a positive rating when the graph of complaints is overwhelmingly negative?

I have been with AHS for many years and finally I decided to cancel all my contractsThis company is getting worse at what it should be their main concern "Customer Service"I can say that the last 5-times I have called them for service request, I had been place on hold for minutes or moreI tried to go to the website, and since December you just can't log inIt has been down for weeks now and even the company reps have no idea what is going onLastly, the last contractor I had to deal with was very unprofessional and difficult to deal withI would not recommend this company to anyone

I'm a existing customer and My refrigerator broke down weeks ago and I called these guys to request for a serviceA technician then took a look after days (yeah I want to wait for more days just to have that inspected) and said he has to replace the compressor itself and he has to order that spare part and it might take 7-business daysHearing that, I called AHS the very next day to say I'll opt the cash out and buy a new refrigerator itself because it will make no sense to install a new compressor on a year old refrigerator and it might fail again in future for any other issueSo I said it will be waste of time and money for both of usThey did agreed and said I will be contacted again in 2-days on how much I'll get on my cash outA week passed and after couple of followups seems nothing is in progressThe response I got was, very sorry, we are overwhelmed with service request and we are working on your issueYou may have to wait for another 1-daysIt was so frustrating to have a home warranty with these guys and to live without a refrigerator and having to run a whole familyafter days of loong wait, a fine day the same local vendor who inspected my fridge called and said your spare part is on the way and can we schedule another service to install your spare part by this weekendI was shocked and and asked them that I have already requested for a cash out and I dont need spare parts to be replaced on a old refrigeratorHe then said we have not notified about this from AHS about your cash out but we have certainly ordered the spare parts for your fridgeI immediately called AHS to check my service status and they simply said your spare parts are already ordered and will be installed!! WTH?? I told them I have requested for a cashout but why you are acting like there is no such incident happened at allShe then verified and said, sorry sir, you called the very next day to opt for cash out but the service man have already ordered you spare parts the same day itself when he inspectedI was like "ok fine, but why the hell I was not told about this?" when I asked for cash out, you guys agreed and I was shopping for new refrigerator and waiting for the money from your endShe said we cannot change anything nowSorry
Really hate their Customer supportWill never deal with them againPeople be aware of this scam companies and stay away!

I have had AHS at my current residence now for about yearsDuring that period, they have taken the appliance problem I had and it worseMost recently, I had a washing machine stop workingUpon calling AHS, they had a person come out and say the mother board was outHe left, and about 1/weeks later, we called to inquire about the status of the repair only to find out that the parts needed for the repair had not even been orderedIt was days before any parts were orderedAnother week went by (now about 1/weeks since the machine quit) before parts arrived and repairman showed back upHe replaced the parts and stiil the machine did not runHe made the ridiculous statement "to let it sit for a while and it may start working"I had my husband call the repairman and inquire about the status and he was told then that the parts he and received and installed did not appear to be the correct parts, but was contacting the washer manufacturer to check and would know something and would call us back the next dayAfter hearing nothing for two days, my husband called the repairmans cell phone and he pretended to be another person and said he would check into the matter and call backNot surprisingly, no call was ever receivedWe contacted AHS again and made them aware of the situation and our dissatisfaction, so a second company was sent out another days laterThis person came out and looked at the machine and said he would need to order the same parts again and that he would contact AHS within the hour and advise them soI waited fours hours later and called AHS only to find out that the second repairman had not called them or made any report to them as he had said he was going to doGoing on WEEKS now without a washing machine and no one appears to care or lessObviously we will be cancelling our service (DISSERVICE is a better description) with AHS as this is not the only issue we have had with AHS, but just the latest issue
I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY HAVE BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLEThey employ incompetent and incapable technicians who have no idea what they are doing, all the while wasting your time calling them and setting on hold to get more run aroundSTEER CLEAR - AHS IS AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER
