American Veterans Aid Reviews (114)

I would like to thank American Veterans Aid for their help in getting financial assistance for my fathter from the Veterans Organization. A few years ago I tried to apply for help and with the assistance of an individual did. I didn't fill out the right information and received paperwork back. The exprience resulted in a year and a half trying to getting help. We did financially recieve a small pension. It wasn't until I worked with American's Veterans that I was able to receive the help to be able pay a part time caregiver and with family help keep my fathter from going to a nursing home. American Veterans were there when I had questions and helped me fill out the right paperwork. Whether I called or emailed, they contacted me and told me what to do. They even helped getting documents I needed to apply for help. It only took a few months, quicker than expected and we received the finacial help we needed. The fee I paid was well worth the help we received. Thank you Americans Veterans. .

I am very grateful for the assistance we received from the American Veterans Aid.They made the process smooth, concise and stress free.
We never would have received the approval so quickly on our own. We were approved within 60 days from start to finish. I contacted AVA originally in February but didn't make the decision to contract for services until May. Had we not waited we would have received the first check in April.
The staff is professional, courteous and available to answer all your questions and concerns. It was the BEST decision. The $2100 monthly is a big help.... We are very pleased!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I am well aware that I received a 50% refund, as I already stated in the original complaint!  I waited until I received the check and cashed it, to file my complaint, so that that fraudulent company couldn't put a stop pay on the check.  [redacted] contacted me via email ,before responding to the Revdex.com, basically to bully me and remind me that I was "told already".  She also attached an electronic copy of the "rules" of which I have never seen before yesterday, Oct 06, 2015.  She also attached the email of which did not contain my email in the "to" line.  Her "rules" state that I have 30 days to receive a 50% refund; it was 24 days before anyone even contacted me, after paying the $1450.00, so one would conclude that my days should have been extended since that company couldn't find time to speak with me.  Also, I specifically ask "Are there any reasons that I cannot receive a refund", and the answer was no, in fact the answer included "even if your mother isn't eligible to receive the funds based on your fathers service, you will get your money back".  No one ever mentioned 30 days, 50% or anything of the kind.  This company plain and simple stole money from me and  is STEALING money from our elderly and this must be put out to the public!!!

We used American Veterans Aid to get help for my mother. Although the process took a while, the AVA made sure everything was done properly. I would absolutely recommend them. For anyone who has had any dealings with government paperwork, you will appreciate the help.

I researched through the Veteran's Administration and found American Veterans Aid were licensed/registered to assist before I contacted them. They were incredibly helpful to me in assisting my mother (diagnosed with Alzheimer's) to get Dad's VA survivor benefits. We started the paperwork in about April/May and completed then submitted to the VA in August, mom received her first payment in October. I believe without their assistance and support it might have taken much longer to complete and file and necessary paperwork.

These people were professional from the beginning of the process to the end of the process. They were outstanding.

Once we discovered possible benefits from the VA for my 92-year old mother-in-law, we found this agency to help us prepare the application. Usually, this process takes a very long time to qualify, but she was approved in only two months after we plied.
Their assistance was worth the cost of service and each specialist was very helpful and informative. My mother-in-law can now afford a nice assisted-living facility, thanks in large part to American Veterans Aid.

American Veterans Aid did an awesome job assisting me in obtaining Veterans Surviving Spousal benefit for my mother who was in need of living assistance, in a very timely manner. We are so thankful.

We found this great place that helped us receive much needed benefits for our mother. Dads service in the Navy during World War ll made her eligible for this monthly monetary, non taxable, benefit. We were skeptical at first but we needed help to get through this lengthy process with all of the paperwork required by the VA. We could never have done it without this groups help. They were professional, very patient with us and our lack of knowledge and we are thrilled that now with this benefit mom can stay where she wants to with no financial burdens for her care. We are grateful to this wonderful group of dedicated people who really do care! God bless all of you and thank you!

My father (a retired WWII veteran) passed in 2002 and shortly thereafter, my mother (who will be 90 years old next month, suffered a stroke and later dementia. We, her, children decided to take care of her. It is a part of my mother’s Caribbean culture. I attended a session at work about caretakers and American Veterans Aid from a co-worker. The team of representatives walked me through every step without showing any signs of frustration. Each time I made contact, they were friendly and eager to assist. Yes, you paid for the service, but they were very quick in assisting with the paperwork and filing, but the long waiting period came from the VA which has a large number of filings each day, now that the WWII generation is quickly disappearing. Yes, it took a few months for the VA to complete the processing nd waited, and it finally come through and now we can provide the care my mother needs. I am encouraging anyone out there to use the assistance of the American Veterans Aid. The representatives were always patience and willing to assist me no matter how tedious or silly my questions were. They caught mistakes and immediately alerted me. Most of the paperwork was completed within 24 hours of receipt of or notification of. American Veterans Aid, THANK YOU!

I started a request with American Veterans Aid last week for a elderly Veteran friend/client to apply for Aid and Attendance. Have been talking to a professional sounding woman for a week, faxing and giving information over the phone. Today, this professional sounding woman requested we fax her a check for greater than Twenty Two Hundred Dollars to 'get the process started'. This was a red flag as I am an advocate for elders. I called the police to report a possible scam on elders. The whole week of talking to this person she did not say anything about this fee she was going to ask for. The police officer called and spoke to her. I'd like to report this as a poor way to do business. She should have been up front about their business fees from the start. I told my client--NO WAY. We can apply and when the application is accepted it will be retroactive to the date on the application even if it takes 6 months to get it. I believe this business is gouging innocent people with their astronomical fees.

Did what they advertised. Perhaps a little pricey, dragged the process out a little too long.

+1

Excellent service. This company assisted me with the application process for two parents. Top notch !

I used American Veterans Aid to help my father in law receive his "Aid and Assistance" benefit through the VA this past year. He was a Korean war veteran and is 89 years old. American Veterans Aid employees were extremely helpful and helped me wade through all of the paperwork and submissions that would have been impossible to figure out without them. After 10 months we finally received aid for my dad and it's been wonderful to be able to see his living expenses augmented with $1780 a month from the VA. This has been a huge blessing to us as my dad was just living on his social security and we were having to supplement his income. I highly recommend American Veterans Aid to anybody in a similar position as my father in law.

Once we became aware of the Veterans Aid & Assistance Program for out Aunt, we discovered how cumbersome the application process became. We contacted American Veterans Aid and was assisted through the process by Ardee D. He led us through the entire applicaion process. Ardee was very helpful and our Aunt is now receiving her much needed aid. Thanks to Ardee the aid was very timely and is very much appreciated.

Hi my name is [redacted]. My father is [redacted] and I am his daughter and P.O.A. I have been taking care of my father now for two years. He is 93 years old and has profound dementia. I was working two jobs and quit both jobs and moved him in with my husband and I to take care of. We were having to take pay from his earnings of retirement in order for me to take care of him. We looked for help from Medicaid and some other places so that I could receive pay for caring for him instead of having to take from his retirement. They all said that he made to much money for them to assist us but did suggest checking into the veterans being that my father was a WW2 veteran. I found American Veterans Aid online and contacted them. They talked to me and said that they thought they could help. They were very helpful and there was a fee for their services but was well worth it. They kept me informed of all the steps they were taking and made sure all paperwork that needed to be done for the Veterans was done and that I had copies of it. They were wonderful to work with and like I said very helpful. I would highly recommend them for anyone that needs assistance in regards to dealing with the veterans. I know that if I had contacted the veterans on my own I would not have a clue what to do and it would have taken forever for me to get things done where with their assistance it still takes awhile but everything is done correctly and efficiently. My dad now recieves a VA benefit that pays for me to take care of him at home.

I am a WWII Veteran. In January 2016 I saw an advertisement on the Interent about American Veterans Aid. I immediately called the phone number and talked with the young woman who answered the phone. In 2 days I received a package of information and forms to fill out including a phone number to call for help with the forms. After sending the forms completely filled in my own handwriting, I then received the VA official forms for with my information typed out for my signature. Also
with the address of the best VA facility to send them. I did that on February 16. 5 weeks later on March 24 I received a confirmation from the VA that my pension is approved for the full amount starting as of March 1 2016. On April 1 there was a deposit in my checking account and has been regularly since. I would recommend American Veterans Aid to any veteran or spouse of a deceased veteran in need.
They are knowledgable, experienced and efficient. I give them a 10.

American Veterans Aid took us through the entire application process for our uncle. He was in the Army during the Korean War so he is eligible for Aid and Attendance benefit from the VA. They told us exactly the proper documents to collect for the application and we sent them copies. They checked everything over before we sent them to the VA. We were approved within a month after applying. American Veterans Aid charged a good size fee for their help in the process but without it the application could have been rejected for any reason. Whenever I see a veteran with a VFW cap, I tell them about the Aid and Attendance program from the VA and the help the American Veterans Aid people gave us.

AVA really helped my WWII vet Dad sort out the paperwork he needed to get together to file his claim. They gave us clear instructions, answered questions almost immediately, and took us step by step all the way. Our application was approved within a month of submittal. Though you can probably make it through the process yourself, the small payment you pay out for AVA's assistance will be well worth it because they will catch any possible errors you could make on your own.
