Amerigas is suppose to be giving our community a discounted rate, yet any time a home owner calls the rate is either different, or we are told there is no community rateIts a different story every time you call or another home owner callsThey might say we have a community rate, yet they claim the rate can change either going up or down depending on the marketThe customer service is no help with answering questions or getting any valid informationThe departments play the blame game either telling you its something corporate handles just to pass the buck, or corporate telling you to contact the home officeOur community a stuck with having to use Amerigas, since the builder decided to have only Amerigas tanks installed on every propertyWe can get out of this if we pay Amerigas thousands to buy the tank or have them come remove itSo we our all held hostage to this company and Amerigas knows it and takes full advantage of that fact

After first letting my tank run dry in the middle of winter and then failing to deliver more propane until several days after it was promised, Amerigas more than doubled their price compared to other local suppliers with no warningThey would not negotiate and I was forced to pay over $1,for about gallons of propaneForced to cancel their service, now they have charged me $to remove their equipment from my propertyAmerigas is an unscrupulous company actively engaged in gouging their customers

I am a first time homeowner/first time propane userUnaware of how this all works, I did not contact them immediately upon buying my house, while I worked on renovationsThe propane is solely for a stove, which was disconnected, and a gas fireplace (it was Spring/Summer)
With no contact whatsoever, approximately months after purchase, they came while a friend and a contractor were working in the house, disconnected my *full* tank without a word to either of them, and took itWhen I called to resolve what was apparently a misunderstanding, they were immediately rude, dismissive, and insisted that I was stupid and out of luck, despite my attempts to keep it pleasantThey refused to offer any solutions or answers when I repeatedly asked why their service man could not have knocked on the door, why there had been no contact with me from their end, or how to resolve this issue
They claimed the tank was nearly empty, despite their last visit here being a pre-sale check to ensu

On December 23rd my landlord paid $on my account as a Christmas gift to help me financially When I came home from work on the same day, I was out of gas My hot water and heat are fueled by propane gas On Wednesday, December 27th, I called to order the gas I let the lady that answered the call know that I had a $credit on my account She confirmed it I ordered gallons and she took my debit card information and charged the entire $to my account She informed me that I would have to wait days for the funds to be returned to my account In addition, it would be the following week before they would be able to deliver the gas I checked the 28th and 29th to see if by chance I had been placed on the listThat did NOT happen At this point, I and my family have been without heat and hot water through Christmas and now through New Years
On January 2nd, I called Amerigas and spoke with another lady, Lynn She placed me on hold and then returned and said the

I received an email from Energy North Propane (this company was bought by AMERIGAS) informing me that they were processing a debit to my bank account in the amount of $I was surprised because I had already paid my gas purchases for the yearI am on a budget plan that automatically withdraws an agreed amount every monthI immediately called the company and informed them about this issueThey told me that there had been some kind of "glitch" with their system, and they would refund the money This conversation took place weeks ago and I still have not received the refundI explained to the person I talked with that I had other bills to pay and that the fact that they debited my account in the amount of $was going to affect my ability to pay other outstanding billsI have placed many phone calls and they said there is nothing they can do I was asked to give my phone number so I could talk to a supervisor, but that has not happenedTheir customer service is HORRIBLE and their lack of care for the difficulties they are causing me due to THEIR mistake is beyond believeNeedless to say that I am taking my business somewhere elseSave yourself the aggravation and DO NOT buy gas from them

2nd time in months that we woke up with no heat, don’t understand why we ran out of propane again when we are on automatic deliveryPropane is our heat source, cooking source, hot water source! We have a baby and other children in the house and this is unacceptable

I was told to call in and order propane when I was at the percent level in my tankI did so on January second and was told it would be 7-days to deliverI called them back everyday last week and notified them on Friday January that we were at percentI was told by Mary in the Belpre office that we were on the delivery route for that dayHowever no gas was delivered and we ran out on Sunday morning at amI called the emergency number and have been told repeatedly I’m on the route and will be called the evening before they deliverI have elderly and a handicapped individuals living in this householdToday is january and we are yet to receive any propane

Several times I have contacted this company many days in advance letting them know my tank is at 20/30% and I would need a delivery of propaneEvery time the response is that they would be there to deliver with in 7/days which usually ends up actually being 14- daysThis is the only way I have been heating my home latelyI do have a wood stove in the home but because I have a wood stove they wont deliver more than gallons to be at a timeThis last time I told them days in advance, hey I am almost out of propane if I could get some delivered soon please and yet every time I go with out heat at least 1/days a week

Steer clear of this company Their customer service is deplorable I've left messages requesting to know when my next delivery is scheduled No call back I checked their website - my account - all it says is delivery pending I have, at this point, between - 25% gas left in my tank and this will probably be gone by next week It's January and we are experiencing colder than temps To add insult to injury they want to charge me $4.68/gal The EIA average is $ I called a competitor who said they are charging $ This looks like price gauging to me Since I rent the tank from Amerigas, no one else will fill it

Run, don’t walk away from Amerigas, Oxnard
We are switching companies because after being loyal customers for years, the new management of Amerigas is completely the worst experience everWe have been waiting for three days now for gallons of gas to be dispensed into our tankWe are in the 0% of gas left in our tank, heading into Mother’s Day weekend, with guests arriving tomorrowThe offices promised we would have the gas Thursday May 10th, then promised to have the gas Friday, May 11th at 9:00amIt is is Saturday 8:30pm and still no gas and offices closedWe did call at 2:00pm yesterday and were promised, yet again, that we would have gas by this eveningWe are stilled owed money that Amerigas deducted without our permission from our bank account for a gas leak that took drivers, and an Amerigas faulty regulator to detectAlso, we went days without hot water because they finally detected a leak but informed us it was our main line to the houseOur plumber detected Amerigas’s mistakeMy thoughts are we are lucky our house with pets and children did not blow up because of their incompetenceWhy they charged and deducted funds, which have not been paid back is beyond usThis company is a sinking ship, the worst I have ever experience, everAnd so far to date, we have run out of gas on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day and now possibly Mother’s DayWe are on automatic fill, so figure that outIf this is a company in 10years I will be surprised, a very unsatisfied, soon to be ex customer
