Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: For the sake of being polite, I will refer to AmeriGas's response as odditiesIn their first statement, when I called the first time as to why the gas was delivered without my requesting it she looked it up and said that we were in fact set up as a will call and did not know why the delivery was madeThe also stated in their response that the tank was empty the account was terminated which would have been October 12that which time they said they would go out the next day and read the gauge and see if the new owner would like to purchase the gas remaining in the tank and keep them on as the gas supplierIf not they would retrieve the gaspull the tank and send me a refund minus the charge for the gas recovery and also verified the address to send the refund toI also find it "Odd" that on the afternoon prior to the closing on the house sale which would have been the 11th of October, the realtor read the tank reading and documented as 75%So in other words this 75% was used up in four days of warm October days? I also find it "odd" that just before calling Amerigas again on the 22ndof October, I called the new owner and ask if he had talked to Amerigas and signed up with themHe said that he had not heard from them and that with painting and lawn work had not even thought about propane gasNow mind you that this was days after the new owner took over and this was the time span that Amerigas stated they had filled the empty tank.??? After talking to him I called Amerigas again to see what was going on and they said that as of yet they had not gotten a hold of the new owner or read the tank yet and that they would do so in the next couple of days for sureAll of the above seems very "odd" to me but it should be very easy for Amerigas to verify all of their statements by producing a copy of the delivery slip to this address and date delivered along with proof of payment by the new ownerI can see no advantage to the Realtor or the new owner to have lied to me but by providing me with the documents I requested above would prove me wrong and I would drop the complaint
Regards,
*** ***
I am opening this complaint because I am unable to deal with Amerigas on my own on the phone (which seems to be my only option) and need to document their unjust processI have zero faith in Amerigas to be reasonable with out assistance (given my past experiences with this co which twice required Revdex.com intervention to get fair market price on propane)
On 6/26/I called Amerigas to cancel my account as we have moved
First I'd like to point out that ending my account with all other utilities was a clear and easy process to complete online with instant confirmation:on the Amerigas web site I can't even find an explanation of their policies regarding ending an account and have no record or confirmation from the company only the prospect of usurious fees for additional service which I did not request and do not want!
I was TOLD I would be charged a "$Service Dispatch Charge" to determine how much gas was left in tank and I would be reimbursed for unused gas and that they woul
This company is absolutely gouging customersThey raise the price of their propane delivery and then use their auto-delivery mechanism as a way to deliver horribly high-priced propane when you are not due for a deliveryNeighbors using two other local propane companies report prices in the $2/gallon range currentlyWe just got charged $4.69/gallon! I called to get proof that they own our tank so we can switch companiesI was told I’d receive documentation within two business daysFive business days later, no paperwork received
Called to pay final balance and close my account today due to a change of residence Previous address was a NH addressTook delivery of gallons propane in December 2016, charged $per gallon Paid invoice amount of $ Took another delivery of gallons propane on 1/20/and billed at $per gallon Total due on invoice was $- the amount I was prepared to pay when calling today to pay final balance Was told total due was $due to billing errors of new computer system (according to customer service rep - began in August 2016) I was never communicated with by the company of such errors or expectation No audit report was provided to date to communicate possible pricing errors, validating discrepancies and invoice was at $per gallon If the invoice was for $per gallon and no notice has been made over the last several months - why am I being held responsible
I have rented a tank and purchased propane from Americas for yearsIn October my house was involved in the wild fires in our countyI requested in October of for them to pick up the tankIt had been burnedI explained we needed it moved in order to rebuild fencing and out buildingsI called again and againThey gave me dates then no showedto date it is still hereIts a hazard and has kept us from performing the repairsThis morning I had to pay men for an entire morning to move it out of the way so I can finally build a fence and demo our pool houseThis is ridiculousVery poor customer serviceThey should be paying me for storage and anything it costs me to work around it
Watch your Bill! Price gouge! They charged $/ gal Compared with other companies at average of $/ gal
I honestly don't know how this company stays in businessThey charged me $4.85/gallon on a gallon deliveryThis is more than twice the market price for propane in our areaSwitching suppliers as fast as possibleBuyer bewareThey cannot tell how they arrive at their pricing but they just hope you don't noticeAfter numerous calls they agreed to lower the price approx $but then they just move on, business as usualThere must be a lot of people out there not paying attention if these guys have been in business years, including me since I've been a customer for years
On 2/9/I had propane delivered from AmeriGasThe price per gallon was $This price seemed rather high and I phoned to question and be certain the price was correctThe explanation I received was that I was considered a “low demand customer”My price was based on how much propane I used per yearIn the past there would be a “will call” fee attached and I was surprised to see that that is still the case along with approximately cents more per gallon than other local suppliersI have been their customer for 17years and never had this practice in placeThis new pricing should have been explained before delivery to give me the opportunity to search elsewhere for propane
I called AmeriGas 5ortimes to come and get there tank no one will call me back how long do I have to keep there tank on my property I've switch to *** propane

We have lived in our home for over 20+ years when we purchased the home the builder put a propane tank in the ground as part of the purchase of our home - we have gas hot water tanks and our heat is gas hot water About months ago Amerigas came on our property and put a sticker on our propane tank that said property of Amerigas It is not nor has it ever been the property of Amerigas I called them today because after 20+ years they sent us a bill for rent for the tank They do not nor have they ever owned this tank and now they are sending us a rent bill for something that is ours - we are not even an Amerigas customer - we were many years ago but we are not any longer We were on auto delivery with them and on News Year Eve the coldest day of the year a couple of years ago they let us run out of gas We then changed and have not been with them since When I called today to tell them that they have made an error - they said we would have to produce where the tank was purchase
