Review: I've been looking for a new home for a little while now. And I came across the perfect one on Craigslist which led me to the contact of Anchor House Financial. It seemed a little off, so my family helped me look it up and there it was.. Fraud. When I was on the phone with a Liar from the Anchor House Financial, they were telling me that I'd have to pay a $199 fee that is refundable, and that there were no offices to where I could do it in person(which was strange). Glad we looked it up before I went through with it! I don't do payments online anyways so I'm glad!Desired Settlement: I would like the Anchor House Financial to be known for their scams and fraud and to get whoever is stealing everyone's money and put them in jail!

Review: This company is a scamming people out their money without sufficient services. They're using unethical business practices when comes to receiving a refund. They're hiding info in the terms and conditions agreement. Knowing most people will skim over those agreements. Once they get your money, they make it as difficult as possible to get your money back, nearly impossible.Desired Settlement: This company need to be held accountable for designing a policy to hold consumers money hostage with no intent to give them their money back. The government need to look into this organization on ethical business practices and policies.

Review: I will like the 200.00 dollars back to me asap please let me know if I will get it back.Desired Settlement: Refund $200.00

Review: For a $200 fee, I was given access to a list of homes in pre-foreclosure. The individual that enrolled me in the program stated that responses are usually received after I mailed 10 letters to the homes in pre-foreclosure. If I did not receive any responses, I would receive a full refund. After mailing over 30 letters and waiting 4 months, I never received a response. When I requested my refund, the company representative informed me that I needed to send a certified letter requesting refund as well as 5 denial letters. She said I needed to mail 10 more letters requesting denial and wait for the home owners in pre-foreclosure to provide me with written denial lettersThe homeowners did not respond when there WAS a benefit to them. Now, why would they stop their lives to write me a letter at no benefit from them? Additionally, I did not get the full $200 refund as promised. There is a 10% processing fee. This is NOT what was told to me when I enrolled. This is a scam.Desired Settlement: I want my $200 refunded in FULL without me writing any more letters.

Review: I was told by someone from Anchor House financial I was able to retain a home with a one time payment of $199, I sent an email requesting a refund and I was told I had to wait 90 days for it. I am in a bind right now because of that because I am currently renting a home in which me and my family (including children) have to move out within the next few days. The landlord of the home I am renting is selling this home. What am I to tell my kids we do not have anywhere to go because I was relying on these people.Desired Settlement: This has caused my family pain and suffering. Someone needs to investigate them and shut this company down. People with families should not have to go through this. I want my money refunded asap.

Review: I have received correspondence on several occasions and would like it stop immediately. There is an assumption that my house is in pre foreclosure, which it is not. When we bought it several years ago, it was. This company obviously did not do their research. At this point it is nothing but harassment.Someone called my realtor, inquiring about the house. He/she was very vague and unprofessional and would not explain why they were calling. Someone put an unstamped, unaddressed letter in my mailbox. That is illegal. I was sent ANOTHER letter the next day via Fedex. Someone stopped by my house on Saturday afternoon inquiring for a "friend" but was very vague. He was very pushy and would not willingly leave. I have contacted them to please take me off whatever list I am on. They have false information. I am not in pre-foreclosure. I am extremely annoyed with the constant harassment I am going through. They have been unprofessional in trying to gain my business and don't have correct information.Desired Settlement: I would like them to leave me alone. Do not contact me or my realtor.

Review: I called an ad I seen about a rent to own home. after sign up I looked the information up online in everything wasn't adding up. so I call to cancelled in they told me I have to wait 90days before I can get my money back in I jus signed up yesterday 06/19/15. its website stating that its a scam.Desired Settlement: I want my money back my $199.00

Review: They took our money and when we realized it was a scam they refused to refund our money back. Every time we tried to contact them they were giving me the run around. This company should be shut down. I am a hard working lower income class with 4 children and a wife. I don't have money to be throwing around for these people just to take. I want everyone to know to stay away from this company.Desired Settlement: I want my money back

Review: I paid $199 to Anchor House Financial to help me find a home to rent in response to several houses I was interested in renting on Craigslist because the contact information kept leading back to this company. I specifically told the rep on the phone that we didn't want to rent to own - only rent for a year. He said they could help us. I also told him that we had a month and a 1/2 to find a home. Again he said that wasn't a problem. When I asked him if there would be someone to show us the houses (like a real estate agent does) his response was, "Oh you just call our customer service number, and they will help you with that." We were promised a money back guarantee if they couldn't find us a home. So we gave him our $199 and were granted access to their website.

Immediately I realized that the main focus of this company was to sell foreclosure homes which worried me because we didn't want to buy, only rent. I called the next day to cancel as was told we had to wait the 90 days. I asked the rep if there were any contingencies and the rep was clueless. Turns out part of their money back guarantee is that they wanted us to mail letters to the houses and get 5 physical letter responses back saying they didn't accept our "offer to buy their home." Even if we wanted to buy the home, how were we supposed to mail out a letter to see the house (no pictures on their web site other than the front of the house), set an appointment, drive to another state, write an offer letter, mail that out and get a rejection letter in a month and a half?

When I asked for a list of just rentals I got 5 homes back in an email. The numbers they did provide were not in service or the people I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about. I spoke to a manager and pointed out that I asked the rep if someone would show us houses instead of saying "No, you have to mail offer letters" he said "call customer service and they will help you" that I thought that was deceiving. She told me I should have asked better questions.Desired Settlement: I want my $199 back because I was promised something and they didn't deliver.

Review: I SIGNED UP TO GAIN ACCESS TO THIER WEBSITE TO GET INFORMATION FOR A HOUSE IN MY TOWN THEY AVERTISED ON CRAIGSLIST.THEY SAID IT WAS 199 TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THIER PROGRAM SO I ASK IF THERE WAS MANY HOUSES IN IN MY ZIP CODE AND THEY ASURED ME THERE WAS SO I GAVE THEM MY MONEY AND GAVE ME A PASSWORD BUT WHEN I WENT ON THE WEBSITE THEIR WERE NO HOUSES IN MY ZIP CODE WHEN I CALL THEM THEY ALWAYS HANG UP NO MATTER HOW POLITE I AMDesired Settlement: REFUND

Review: I contacted Anchor House Financial regarding a Craigslist posting. During a long recitation of their practices and policies over a very bad connection I was assured that the processing fee of $199.00 was refundable. I can understand the fee, and did check the agree box on the terms, never thinking it would be so cumbersome and unfair to the consumer to get a refund. I have to wait 90 days and then submit a request in writing via USPS and submit 5 letters of refusal from contacted homeowners. I was interested in ONE property. If these terms were listed in the long litany on the extremely crackly phone connection, they were not emphasized. I expect I will not get my refund. Very unfair business practices.Desired Settlement: I would like an immediate refund. I contacted them within the hour of accepting the terms and was told by an extremely rude representative to call a different number on the West Coast. After waiting two and a half hours I called the California number and was told I had to wait 90 days and that there was a 10% processing fee. I was told nothing about submitting my refund request in writing or about the five letters of refusal from contacted homeowners.

Review: Anchor House Financial [redacted] Calle Real Suite #[redacted] Goleta, CA 93117 We are asking them to refund our money.. The site is fraud and we want our money back. Account number 11[redacted]7Desired Settlement: Of Money $199.00Dear Sir/MadamI am requesting my refund due to me.. I have not received any leads on any of the requested houses that I sent letters to. I have NOT received any rejection letters as well . I am asking for my $199.00 dollars refunded to me. It has been over 3 months and I am not happy with this program. My reference # is 1[redacted]7. E[redacted] S NC Hwy 49 [redacted] NC 27215 Chief [redacted]@aol.com

Review: Initiated services on 5/22/2015 and immediately mailed out 27 letters. Requested denials be called into office number as requested on all 27 offer letters. No one called into deny services. Requested refund after 90 days as terms and agreements specified. Anchor House will not issue refund without five denials. They told me to keep sending out letters until five people denied services. Will not refund any money without the denials.Desired Settlement: I want my money refunded minus the 10% "handling fee" as stipulated on the website.

Review: I called Anchor House Financial from Craig's list they stated to me that the had listings of houses that were not listed in the MLS, that these were pre foreclosed homes. A fee of $199 was giving for the exclusive list. I was not told that I would have to send letters to the home owners stating that I was interested in taking over their mortgage. Come to find out these home owners were not in pre foreclosure at all. They tell you that you have to wait 90 day for your money back. We need to stop this call the local news in your area!!!Desired Settlement: I want my money back!!!

Review: I purchased the "services" of Anchor House on July 26, 2015. I looked up the local listings, drove to these places, and it is a vacant lot. This happened for the majority of addresses in my town of first choice. I called today requesting a refund, and the woman explained the process stating that they could not give me the entire refund because of a processing fee, and that I would get an email confirmation. She explained that it could take up to 30 days to give me the money that I am allowed to have back minus the processing fee. I have not received the confirmation that my account is cancelled and if my account is not cancelled I am not getting my money back.Desired Settlement: I would like $199 placed back onto my debit card. If not I would like a cashier's check made out for $199 to Kelly Kent-Quinn, or they can give me a VISA card for the same amount of money.

Review: Anchor House Financial is a real-estate SCAM. On Monday June 1st I saw the add on Craigslist & called about houses in pre-foreclosure to take over the mortgage of one in Maryland. Red Flag went up when they said they were in California but, they sounded professional and sincere. An elderly lady name B[redacted] then another named Judy spoke without disclosing facts of having to cold call the home owners by regular mail. They have letters to print out and send to the houses instead of having any prior communication with the owners. I seriously believed they had phone numbers to contact these home owners to see the property & workout deals. They are very friendly, polite & deceptive just to get your $199.00 USD. Today I waited until I spoke to someone who stated their 90 day refund policy. After a threat to file a complaint with the Revdex.com they offered me $149.00 back within 30 days. I questioned the length of time & really didn't want to forfeit $50. This was not one of my better judgement calls. I guess there is so much emotion wrapped up into trying to provide a home for your family. They are wrong for what they are doing I hope someone will put an end to this scam.Desired Settlement: I would like my full $199.00 returned. I agreed in a take it or leave it scenario to 75% of my money returned in a lengthy 30 day wait. I will I would never have call this place. I hope all others steer clear!!!

Review: I found this company on craigslist called them up & they explained to me how their services worked. They told me that they work with homes in the foreclosure market. As a member I would have access to unlimited homes in their database that are being foreclosed on & that I could get a home much easier this way because I had the option of rent to own & wouldn't have to put up all the money it requires to purchase a home normally. They also told me that if in 90days I was unable to find a home I could just call them, let them know I was unable to find a home,& they would give me a refund. They explained to me that I would have to mail out premade letters they had available online or make my own, & send to the homes that I liked on their site in order to begin the process of finding a home.(Note: the site only provides the addresses of the homes not the actual HOMEOWNER listed on the deed of the home)After mailing out over 50 letters for 2months & not getting any responses back I decided to call and cancel. Then they told me that I needed to wait until after the 90days to call back and cancel.I called back 90 days later & they tell me that I need to mail them a written cancelation notice along with 5 denial letters from any 5 properties listed on their site through certified mail & that I wouldn't be getting a full refund because they keep 10% of the $199they charged me. I did as they told me,got my 5 denial letters,& mailed them back to the company certified mail. I waited the 30 days it takes for the to receive the package and put into the system and an additional 30 days for them to remit refund. When I saw I didn't get anything I called again to see the status of my account/refund. They then told me that they were unable to verify the denial letters and they didn't match with the actual HOMEOWNERS listed on the deed. Im tiered of calling this company to get money back. Im now taking further action and having my bank retract the charge and file dispute.Desired Settlement: I don't know how this company is still an operating business!? There are complaints very similar to mine dating back to 2008 on google. This company is a scam and should be shut down or slapped with a huge fine. I also want my money back! A FULL refund. Im tiered of calling and getting the run around as I have to continue to waste my time & money on gas & stamps for these ridiculous requirements just to get 90% of what I paid & not even finding a home!

Review: This company takes your 199 don't really have anything to do with the houses they have on list. Some houses are fake addresses others are not even for sale or in foreclosure. BIG SCAM!!!!Desired Settlement: Full refund of 199!!!! And would like company to be prosecuted noticed I am not the only one scammed and won't be the last!!!!!

Review: I was told by multiple employees over the phone that I would be able to get my $200 back "right away" if I didn't like their service. That was an outright lie. I was then told I had to wait 3 months to get my refund and now that the 3 months is up they have not replied to my emails about my refund. A truly disgusting and fraudulent "business"Desired Settlement: I am requesting a full refund of $200

Review: I call several times to find out about their services and spoke to several employees and decided to go try their services. But all of the employees regretted to to tell me about how the process works and how fast we would beable to find a home. After searching their site and looking at homes we contacted a gentleman named D[redacted]. When we told him we signed up for the services he began to scream at me and he made me feel like I was stupid for something he didn't tell me to do. After the whole process my husband and I realized that we would not need their services because they were not going to help us. When we called to get our refund they said no that we have to wait 90 days. When they asked if the employees had told me about this I responded telling them no they didn't tell us that. I didn't find this out until we called to cancel. They proceeded to me over and over again that we have to wait the 90 day period when if we were not going to use their website or their services. I asked to speak to someone in a higher position in the company than the person I was talking to and they refused to answer my question or put someone on the phone. This company is a scam they are taking money from people for services they cannot use. It's not right. This company needs to be shut down.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund to my husband's credit card.
