October 23, 2015Re: [redacted] Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company I apologize for my delay in responding to you[redacted] agreed to advertise with Angie’s List on September 9, 2015, per the attached agreement We have reviewed the sales process and found that [redacted] did agree that any Storefront offers from advertisers came with a lowered 3% transaction fee to be paid to Angie’s List Though the exact details presented by Drake were not our standard policy, we will be happy to honor the rate that was given [redacted] over the phone No misleading was intended, and we are happy to honor the price quoted to [redacted] .Before Angie’s List will publish an advertisement, we require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation feeThat information is found under the terms and conditions on their advertising agreement If [redacted] is still interested in canceling his advertising with us, he would need to pay the early termination fee to cancel the contract We hope that by honoring the rate we originally quoted, we can help [redacted] benefit from the advertising he agreed to and we can find mutual benefit. In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe did, however, deliver to the extent of the contracts that we signed We would be happy to continue working with [redacted] , and have reached out to him to offer this lower 3% rate We ask that he let us know how else we can help him Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse ***Angie’s List
April 3, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond to complaints against our company Mr [redacted] purchased a lead generated online based on a customer’s request As Mr [redacted] is claiming that the information the customer submitted did not allow him to contact the customer, we have issued a refund for this purchase We apologize for the miscommunication, as the individual who had been in contact with Mr [redacted] did not receive the email Mr [redacted] maintains he sent For ease of communication, Mr***’s best point of contact with Angie’s List moving forward would be our Business Center, who can be contacted at [email protected] or 1-866-843- In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe have refunded Mr [redacted] for his lead purchase, and look forward to continuing to work with him in the future if he chooses to Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B [redacted] Angie’s List
Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below There clearly was confusion or I wouldn't have advertised Your sales team even stated "every contract MUST be properly licensed and if someone were to report them they would be immediately removed" which did not happen! It's sad that you advertise to the general public that your contractors are licensed and insured when as you clearly are admitting is not the case You should require every advertising contractor to provide a copy of their license prior advertising if you are going to deceive the public What does the IRS audits have to do with contractor's licenses? You are just adding more fluff and Angies's List always does Additionally I am not an attorney so not everything is clear in your lengthy contracts and descriptions which your legal department knows I will have leverage due to not being an attorney I will sue you if I have to although I'm giving you this final opportunity to reimburse me Once my first year was about up I notified Kirk F [redacted] that I was not going to resign At this time he notified me about the fetch list and guaranteed that I would get reviews as I had over regular customers The only catch was I had to resign I'm a business owner that is trying to grow my business so all I want was Angie's List to work for me Obviously I did not make the best decisions as I was constantly given the run around by your team Anyways I resigned, you ran the fetch list and I DID NOT get one single review from it So here we go againDid you even attempt to help get me reviews? No you did not I emailed everyone of my customers asking if Angie's List contacted them for reviews and not one single customer said they even heard from you except the getting advertisements to become members So the fact is all you did with MY CUSTOMER LIST was try to get them to buy memberships I'm sure my attorneys will have a field day with you.We both know the only reason you reimbursed me for my other business, [redacted] ***, was because I complained to the Revdex.com You DID NOT give me an extra month I told you to cancel the contract which you refused until or months later At that time you refused to reimburse me for the overage and refused to provide detailed billing summaries You stated you also had documented proof of me agreeing to continue which you also failed to provide The fact is you attempted to take advantage of me so I took the complaint here As I continue to do more research this appears to be the norm with your unhappy customers You should not be allowed to get away with it.At this point its more of the principle than the money You are an unethical company and I will expose you if you do not refund me.My attorney is copied here Regards, [redacted] ***
July 11, Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company I apologize for the delay in my responseMs [redacted] originally contacted Angie’s List on 5/17/informing us that the service could not be fully completed due to the paint chipping on her deckAs a member based service, Angie’s List offers service providers, who have earned high grades, the opportunity to advertise through coupons and ecommerce on our websiteThe Angie’s List Big Deal is a voucher for services from the provider that it is purchased withOnce work has been started, the provider is responsible for all funds paid for the service, regardless of Angie’s List percentage takeAngie’s List keeps a percentage of the service voucher because the services offered are marketed directly to our membersThe provider is paying for exposure and is responsible for the interaction on the job site, the quality of their work, and the customer’s satisfaction with the serviceWhile I do understand where Ms [redacted] is coming from, our procedures were followed correctly and [redacted] had the opportunity to follow through on the full refund amount of $Unfortunately, they were not agreeable to this and refunded her $ Despite our procedures, we have agreed to refund Ms [redacted] the $she’s requestedMs [redacted] has been a loyal member and we understand her frustration regarding this situation and are willing to make an exceptionI have submitted this request to our Accounting team and this should be processed back to her payment method within 3-business days I find it regrettable that we left Ms[redacted] feeling she had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe always want to provide top notch service to our members Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B***Angie’s List

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Assuming the review from the person whom we never worked for remains absent from our reviews, we are satisfied It is a shame that it took a 4-month process of complaining to the company and finally filing a dispute with Revdex.com for this to be resolved This is time that could be better spent helping our customers Angie's List should take a long, hard look at their business practices I sincerely hope we do not have to deal with an issue like this again Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I had someone tell me not to contact Angie's List for this projectThis particular person told me they heard that Angie's List contacts are unreliableI did not deliberately fall into a trap of some sort, did I? I contacted Angie's List about this problem, shortly after the occurrence and I was only directed to fill out a review of the companyIt has been many weeks since that contact and I haven't heard another word from Angie's List, until now.I contacted this provider of service because they advertised through Angie's ListPerhaps the Revdex.com and Angie's List should do further researchIt appears that my hands are pretty much tiedI had someone come to my house yesterday who was trying to tell me AC units only last years. What happened to honesty in business? Regards, [redacted]
March 22, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] ***, Thank you for bringing this updated complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond again to this complaint I first wanted to apologize for misspelling Ms [redacted] ’s name in our previous correspondence Though we maintain that Angie’s List was not at fault for the misunderstanding that we have already addressed, and though we did not see any updated information in Ms [redacted] ’s updated complaint, Angie’s List will agree to waive one month of her advertising payments that are past due This reduces the balance that is outstanding in order for Ms [redacted] to remain within category search on Angie’s List This amount is due very soon to avoid being sent to a third-party collections process, so we would encourage Ms [redacted] to communicate with her client success manager to work out a suitable payment schedule promptly We strive to provide top notch customer service to members and service providers alike and regret that the consumer was disappointed with her experience with Angie’s ListWe delivered to the extent of our contractAngie’s List and Ms [redacted] ’s company have a binding agreement, and just as we have acted in accordance with our obligations, so must Ms [redacted] Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B [redacted] Angie’s List
