December 29, 2015Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] Peggy, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond to complaints against our companyThough Rodney Zervakos signed an agreement with Angie’s List on June 12, 2015, authorizing an early termination fee of 35% of the total contract value, we have decided to honor his request by waiving this early termination fee Though we did in fact process MrZervakos’s list of customers, and in fact he received a review as a result of this, we concede that we did not clearly answer his questions or make this clear to him We would have preferred to continue working with Island Life Pools and Spas as an advertiser on Angie’s List, but given that MrZervakos is no longer willing to advertise with us, we will waive the early termination fee and contact the collections agency to close this file.In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe appreciate the feedback and ability to correct this situation to some extent. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse BrownAngie’s List

June 2, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr [redacted] for any frustration or confusion regarding his membership Angie’s List specializes in locating local service providers who specialize in residential services Angie’s List advertises that we will help you find a local provider for services on or in your home Angie’s List does not promote or support commercial services at this time Currently, Angie’s List does not offer refunds for purchased memberships, except in specific one-off situations I would like to apologize to Mr [redacted] that this was not recognized during his recent chat with a representative If a service provider signs up for a membership and is looking for commercial services or attempting to list their business on Angie’s List, a refund would be granted Since Mr [redacted] paid with PayPal, he received a 20% on the $membership and was only charged $ At this time, I have issued a refund for the $charged to Mr***’s PayPal account I find it regrettable that we left Mr [redacted] feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our members Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse M [redacted] Angie’s List

July 14, 2015Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] , Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe always appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company In response to Mr [redacted] complaint, there appears to be two distinct issues he is presenting.First, it appears as though he is accusing both Angie’s list and his competitor of featuring an offer through the Big Deal program that contains equipment that is no longer being manufactured, which he claims presents a fraudulent “bait and switch” experience for Angie’s list membersPer EPA regulations passed recently, Seer units are no longer allowed to be manufactured as they have been deemed less efficient than new Seer and above units, causing more strain on the environment and resourcesHowever, the regulations stipulate that all currently existing inventory be allowed to be sold, bought, and serviced until it is exhaustedHaving an abundance of this inventory, Mr [redacted] competitor has merely chosen to exhaust it through the use of one of our advertising and marketing platforms that we offer to eligible service providers on Angie’s listSecond, Mr [redacted] appears to be upset that the growth of his business does not align with the success he wishes and feels that Angie’s list and/or his competitor are responsible for his resultsBoth Mr [redacted] and his competitor advertise through Angie’s listAngie’s list does not, will not, and cannot guarantee any specific results as a bi-product of advertising through our site or other such marketing platforms as The Big Deal or eCommerceAs advertisers, both companies have been eligible and been given the opportunity to take advantage of all advertising mediums availableTo suggest that Angie’s list has prevented Mr [redacted] or any other business’s ability to compete on a level playing field is erroneous, and can be refuted through the mere proof that Mr [redacted] business has participated in dozens of eCommerce platforms as well as traditional web-placement advertisingWe hope this shines some light on the situation and would be glad to answer any additional questions or concerns you may have as they pertain to Angie’s list business practices across the industry.Kind regards, Jesse B***Angie’s List

October 17, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] [redacted] Thank you for bringing this complaint response to our attention I apologize for the frustration Mr [redacted] mentions in his complaint As previously explained, Angie’s List is a neutral third party, a passive conduit for members to leave reviews on companies that they state they have had an interaction The review is the property of the member and does not violate any of the Angie’s List review requirements Angie’s List will not remove the member’s review in this situation I find it regrettable that we left Mr [redacted] feeling he had no other recourse than to complain to the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to all companies on our list Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint, and please let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse M [redacted] Angie’s List

April 25, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN AttnPeggy Richardson Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company I first wanted to apologize to Mr [redacted] for any frustration he has experienced while advertising with Angie’s ListOn 9/29/2015, Mr [redacted] electronically agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement Our advertising can never guarantee lead generation or a certain number of phone calls per week; instead it guarantees placement on the websiteThis placement appears to have happened as it was intended to, and as it was described during the sales processWe have reviewed our sales process and customer service interactions with Mr***In light of any confusion or miscommunication, we will agree to waive the standard early termination fee In addition, we will consider Mr***’s contract to be cancelled effective 4/4/2016, which was the first time he mentioned cancelling his advertisementIn terms of the portion of his advertising term that already ran, Mr***’s advertisement was running as agreed, and this payment was due for services renderedAs such, no refund will be offered for the period during which the advertisement was runningAngie’s List does not have the ability to prevent reviews about our service on Google, and therefore I cannot comment on or explain Mr***’s experience with a separate companyIn short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe strive to provide top-notch customer service Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse [redacted] Angie’s List

March 29, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to respond to complaints against our companyI apologize for the delay in my response Mr [redacted] agreed to advertise with Angie’s List, but we agree that there was some misinformation presented during the sales process, and so we will agree to waive our standard Early Termination Fee of 35%, which is included in every signed contract As Mr [redacted] ’s request to cancel his advertisement was not immediately honored, we will also refund his March payment, which was deducted while we were still processing the cancellation We did want to work with Mr [redacted] ’s company to help resolve any issues and reasons for cancellation, but we have ended our advertising relationship at his request In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe strive to provide top-notch customer service Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information Kind regards, Jesse B [redacted] Angie’s List

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. That response only shows how unethical Angie's List is I'm not denying that I agreed to advertise I am saying that Angie's List notified me of all my options and absolutely stated that every advertising contractor MUST be licensed In fact when I registered my information with on Angie's List it asks you to upload your license so Angie's List knows from day one if a company is licensed or not Again they do not care as long as the unlicensed business is paying to advertise and they don't get reported IT SHOULD NOT BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE YOUR CLIENTS ARE PROPERLY LICENSED YOU STATED THEY WERE AND I TRUSTED THAT ANGIES LIST NOT PROPERLY SCREENING THEIR CLIENTS IS COMPLETELY UNETHICAL WHICH THEY THEN FALSELY ADVERTISE TO THE CONSUMERS THEY JUST ADMITTED TO THAT I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE ENTIRE TIME I WAS ADVERTISING AGAINST UNLICENSED COMPETITORS If you do not reimburse me I am going to upload the emails and recorded conversationsSpecifically the one when I asked Patrick Selby for copies of our supposedly "recorded" conversations when he stated "Angie's List is a publicly traded company and I will not release any information that could incriminate Angie's List." To this day you are still falsely advertising some of the contractors I reported And we all know that most of your clients all over the country are not properly licensed I'm sure a legitimate audit will prove thatAgain they did not advise me of the multiple categories for pressure washing nor is it in the contract As you know I complained numerous times starting in My first account manager apologized and stated he wanted to pass me onto a veteran manager who could better assist me who was Karey Morris Again the only things she offered to me were more forms of advertising like groupon type deals that would cost more money for me Additionally as everyone knows the businesses always lose money when the advertising company take 50% Karey Morris then passed me along to Bryon Craven who again stated he wanted me to spend more money I advised each one that I absolutely refused to spend another penny on other Angie's List programs until my monthly service fee was at least paying for itself As for my other business, [redacted] ***, you DID NOT waive the early termination fee(ETF) You overcharged me for months and then you did charge me the ETF I asked you numerous times for a detailing billing report as well as documented proof that I agreed to continue advertising although you refused all my requests Only when I brought it to the Revdex.com did you reimburse me one (1) month Feel free provide the detailed billing reports so we can show the Revdex.com the truthIf anyone is wondering how Angie's List works and how they expect a business to be successful heres how: The business pays to advertise Angie's List provides little review card (which you have to print yourself) They expect you to give these cards to your customers (these are not customers from Angies List) and try to get them to pay for an Angie's List membership and have them write a review Now they can write a review even if they don't become a member although it only counts for your business's GPA (this is what makes you more visible and where you are placed against your competitors on their website) if they pay for a membership So basically they expect the client to do all the leg work The business pays to advertise and the business brings in new paying members It's actually genius but they do not give you any of this information up front Once you start complaining they will try to give you other options which actually cost more money and who knows if they work either And they will keep passing you around from account manager to account manager each asking to give them a chance for at least a few more months to make you successful Here you will eventually realize they are just trying to keep you paying as long as they possibly can With all that said I DO NOT accept Angie's List's response I want a full refund based on pretenses and competing against UNLICENSED contractors and if they refuse I will take the necessary steps to get this resolved I will be sure to take this to the media and pass this on to my attorney We can get a subpoena for all your recorded conversations if you would like? Now just refund my money so we all can move on [redacted] ***

October 27, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn [redacted] Re: Complaint Case # [redacted] [redacted] Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Ms [redacted] for any frustration regarding our auto renewal programThis program was implemented as a result of member feedback indicating it would be convenient to renew without being required to call or mail in a request to do soWe acknowledge that with every improvement, we run the risk of offending a small portion of our membersSome people, caught off guard when their renewal goes through, clearly do not benefit from this intended convenienceBecause of this, Angie’s List strives to make sure that each member has the opportunity to learn about the program prior to paying for a membership, and we employ customer-friendly refund policies for situations such as thisThe following notification appeared on the online “Join” page that Ms [redacted] ’s husband used to sign up for a membership through our website: Continuous Service Membership: To ensure uninterrupted service, all Angie's List memberships are renewed automatically, using the credit card on fileAll of our annual memberships are renewed at the current membership rate on the first day of the month in which the current membership term ends, while monthly memberships are renewed at the current membership rate on the date in which the current membership term endsYou may cancel at any timeAnnual memberships are backed by our 110% money back, satisfaction guaranteeSorry, no refunds for monthly memberships Additionally, this information is included in the welcome packet that is sent to the member’s home after signing up Ms [redacted] ’s husband, Mr [redacted] , contacted us via email on 7/25/requesting cancellation, using the same phone number and email address provided with this Revdex.com complaint An annual Angie’s List membership was located with that contact information and future renewals were stoppedThe Angie’s List representative confirmed the cancellation via email, but explained that this membership was not on monthly billing and asked for additional contact information to locate a possible second accountMr [redacted] contacted us via online chat on 10/25/requesting cancellation and again providing the same contact informationThe representative explained that the membership was an annual membership, not monthly, and issued a refund of the most recent charge since it had already been cancelled A credit of $was issued back to Mr [redacted] ’s PayPal account on 10/25/for his annual membership Upon receipt of this complaint and further investigation, I was able to locate a second membership under Mr [redacted] ’s name, registered without a phone number and a different email address, [redacted] doh.hawaii.govThat membership was set for monthly billing I have set that membership to not be renewed in the futureNormally, we do not issue refunds for monthly accounts as the above statement references, but I have issued a courtesy refund of $for this monthly membershipNo cancellation requests had previously been received for this membership I find it regrettable that we have failed Ms [redacted] and Mr [redacted] We strive to provide top-notch service to our membersI hope that Ms [redacted] and Mr [redacted] will give us the opportunity to win their confidence back in the future Again, we sincerely apologize for any frustration this caused Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information [redacted] Angie’s List
