*** ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed against our company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for any frustration or confusion regarding his membership Currently, Angie’s List does not offer refunds for purchased memberships, except in specific one-off situations. I would like to apologize to Mr*** that this was not made clear when he was joining Angie’s List. Angie’s List would like to apologize for any confusion regarding a cancellation request in that resulted in Mr*** being invoiced for a renewal of his membership. I do notice that Mr*** was renewed twice for his membership. One of those charges was refunded back to Mr***’s credit card on 6/2/in the amount of $9.99. I have requested a refund for the second $charge to Mr***. It will take a few days for the funds to reflect on Mr***’s credit card. I find it regrettable that we left Mr*** feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our members Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Jesse M*** Angie’s List

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. *** never agreed to go back into advertising. *** is an office admin and doesnt have that authority either. Just because an email is sent to someone does not mean they read it. It does not make me aware. this is unacceptable and the next step is, the fair trade commission. Thank you

- I did contact you about the deal to report that the business was not responsive - you told me that you would contact them on my behalf but did not provide a refund as I had requestedYou're only acknowledging my SECOND request for a refundRegardless, it says a lot about your business practices when you are forced to hide behind contractual language instead of doing the right thing for your customer.- The addresses are not removed - I still see ALL of the on the website.- I do not wish to use my full last name in reviewsPlease point to where I'm required to do so in any agreement I've signed
April 21, 2015 Indianapolis Revdex.comEWashington StreetIndianapolis, IN 46202Attn*** ***Re: Complaint Case # *** ***, On January 23, 2015, Mr*** did agree to advertise with Angie’s List for one year. Mr*** did agree to the terms electronically on 1/23/Before Angie’s List will publish an advertisement, we require each prospective advertiser to agree to the contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay forthese servicesMr*** also spoke with one of our representatives on Thursday, April 16th regarding his advertising. This Revdex.com complaint is the first time we were made aware that Mr*** wanted to cancel his advertising agreement. During a deeper investigation of Mr***’s company’s profile due to this complaint, we did find that the two reviews that were on his company violate Angie’s List review policies. We were able to see that the provider and the two members that submitted the reviews shared contact information. They were therefore deemed a conflict of interest and they were removed. Mr*** was made aware of this on Friday, April 17th. Companies must have positive reviews on Angie’s List to be eligible to offer discounts to our members. Because these reviews were removed from Angie’s List, Mr***’s company is no longer eligible. His advertising agreement has therefore been pulled. His account manager, *** *** left a voicemail for Mr*** today. Mr*** can reach *** *** directly at *** if he has any further questions or concerns. Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Mindy O***Angie’s List

Re: Complaint Case # *** ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story
regarding complaints filed against our company. I apologize for the delay in my response I first wanted to apologize to Mr*** for any frustration he has experienced during the time he has spent as an advertiser On 2/29/2016, Mr*** electronically agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per the attached agreement. We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. We have reviewed our sales process and customer service with Mr***. We have agreed to waive our standard Early Termination Fee for the contract in light of any possible confusion about the term of the contractIf Mr*** still wishes to cancel our agreement, we have agreed to consider it cancelled as of 4/25/2016, which is the date he first left a voicemail asking to discuss canceling. However, management has been in communications with Mr***, and we hope that he will agree to continue working with us. We would prefer to work through any confusion and continue our relationship with Mr*** and NJ Electric LLC. In short, I sincerely apologize that this customer is disappointed with their experience with Angie’s ListWe strive to provide top-notch customer service, and would welcome another chance to work with Mr***’s businessIf he does choose to proceed with canceling, we are willing to make the concessions I outlined above Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. ***,
Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed
against our companyI apologize for the delay in my response
I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for any confusion or misinformation experienced
Our records for Mr***’s contact information match those that he has provided to the Revdex.comOur Newsroom department has confirmed that we had Mr*** on the mailing list to receive our publication every month, and has confirmed that these issues were mailed to his addressThough we have recently moved to a publication schedule providing a digital edition one month, and a paper edition the next, this would not have affected Mr***’s ability to receive his printed publications in the past
I have reached out directly to Mr*** to ask for any clarifying information he could provideBarring any additional information, our best advice would be to ask his local post office if they have had trouble delivering mail to his address, and to take his complaint up with them if soWe cannot see a reason on our end why he has not received his publication, and he has not responded to my attempts to help to resolve the matter
I find it regrettable that we left Mr*** feeling he had no recourse but to contact the Revdex.comWe strive to provide top-notch service to our membersIf Mr*** needs any additional help, he has my direct contact information and I would be happy to assist him
Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information

THIS IS NOT RESOLVED! I have attempted to respond but apparently you didn't get itAt the same time they provided the information here, they took us to collections for the full amount we are disputing!!!
This is not resolved so please do not mark it as suchThey are not trying to fix this, they are trying to lie to you and take us to collections at the same time! We've received no refund as they are stating!

Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story regarding complaints filed
against our company
I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to *** *** for any frustration with her membership, including any emails she may have received regarding her membership
I wanted to clarify that Angie’s List does not offer any “trial” memberships or free introductory periods on our consumer membershipsAll of our memberships default to an automatic renewal, and it is not currently possible to view information on Angie’s List without maintaining an active, paid membershipWe also do not send out our award-winning publication to anyone who does not maintain an active, paid membership
*** *** most recently paid for an annual membership on September 18th, 2015, via PayPalThe emails that she has received recently were not intended to ask her for payment, but were instead intended to communicate new membership options and a change to our service coming this summerAs we are communicating important information about her paid subscription, we do not have a way of opting out of these particular emailsWe strive to make it easy to opt out of emails or modify the number of emails sent, both via the emails themselves and our websiteHowever, we feel it is important to let paying members know about changes to the services they’re paying for
As *** *** is clear in this complaint that she does not wish to maintain her membership, I have refunded her the $she paid in September, cancelling her account effective immediatelySince she no longer has an active subscription with us, she should no longer receive emails from us
We are very sorry to see the miscommunication involved in this complaint, and we are sorry to lose *** *** as a member for the time beingWe would welcome *** ***’s business in the future, and hopefully this response serves to clarify any misunderstanding
Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information
Kind regards,
