I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
I have many reasons to reject the claim that no wrong doing happened in the sales process I was never given any account numbers to even reference my accountI was never contacted by anyone or given a name to contact to set up art and other details for the advertisementI was never given access to the Angie's List website thus cannot verify that the add is running or that the info is correctI have recorded phone conversations where I asked for login info and account numbers to be emailed to me but I have yet to receive eitheri have recorded phone conversations where I was offered a deal to keep me from cancelling but I was on an inspection at the time of the call and explained that I may be interested but could not talk at that timeI was told that individual would call back the following Monday morning but instead a short time later I got a cancellation email and no one called Monday at all. I was told by the salesman who sent the contract for me to sign that an account manager would contact me the following weekAfter weeks still no contact from Angie's List and when I called I was told they were very sorry but the account manager assigned to my account was no longer with the company and my account "fell through the cracks". In short, I have no account number, no way to access Angie's List website, No way to verify the accuracy of the info in the advertisement or even its existence and all the recorded phone calls to prove this info was never givenAll im asking for is a refund of all money already paid to Angie's List and release from the service agreement and all future payments. Thank you,*** *** *** ***

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. All I want is the personal lies to be taken off Angie's listI can provide proof the business has liedAngie's list advertises that we can believe what is on their site because no one can pay to be on thereBut, if we are not able to write a negative review without worrying about being personally attached, than this statement is not trueI understand not taking off simple disagreementsI do not mind if this business said things about our transactions togetherI only complained about her attacking me in my personal life, which has nothing to do with my comments, her business or our contractAngie's list does not provide a safe site to review businessesI feel they should not be able to advertise something that is not trueThey say they do not want to get involved - but this is their site and what their business is suppose to be about! They say they make people sign that what they say is the truthSo, when a business lies, and they can have proof it is lies and personal, they should enforce their rules! I need for the public to know about this situationIf we can only put in good reviews, and are not allowed to say when we have a negative experience, Angie's list no longer is providing the service they claim they areThank you for your time and help.*** ***

October 6, Indianapolis Revdex.com EWashington Street Indianapolis, IN Attn*** *** Re: Complaint Case # *** ***, Thank you for bringing this complaint to our attentionWe appreciate the opportunity to give our side of the story
regarding complaints filed against our company. I’d like to start by offering a sincere apology to Mr*** for any confusion regarding his membership All of our memberships do default to an automatic renewalOur auto renewal program was implemented as a result of member feedback indicating it would be convenient to renew without being required to call or mail in a request to do soWe acknowledge that with every improvement, we run the risk of offending a small portion of our membersSome people, caught off guard when their renewal goes through, clearly do not benefit from this intended convenienceBecause of this, Angie’s List strives to make sure that each member has the opportunity to learn about the program prior to paying for a membershipWe also email members prior to the renewal date to notify them of the upcoming charge Mr*** joined Angie’s List on 9/30/as a member through an online purchase. Mr*** used his membership the first month of joining and has not used the membership since. With that being said, Mr***’s credit card information that was on file changed during the course of his year of membership. Mr*** may have cancelled his credit card, but had not cancelled his membership with Angie’s List until 10/4/2016. His membership has been cancelled, effective 9/30/when the automatic renewal charge failed due to the change of his credit card information. Prior to 10/4/2016, Mr*** had not contacted Angie’s List since joining to request any changes to his membership, which is why his automatic renewal was scheduled for 9/30/2016. Mr***’s complaint has been resolved as of 10/4/when he contacted Angie’s List to request cancellation of his already expired account. Angie’s List did not charge Mr*** for the automatic renewal due to the failed payment. As Mr*** has requested, I have unsubscribed him from all email correspondence from Angie’s List. This may take a few business days to complete, as Angie’s List has pre-populated email distribution lists already set to go out to members Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. company The Angie’s List Super Service Award honors excellence among service and health pros who maintain superior service ratings and reviews on Angie’s List. The award is a prestigious, annual distinction and is intended to recognize the best-in-class providers who demonstrate trustworthy and consistent high-levels of customer service from the past year and overall Only the top 5% of providers in each designated category in each market are eligible for the award. There are several minimum criteria that are considered. The provider must maintain an average GPA of for their overall grade with Angie’s List. The provider must maintain an average GPA of for their recent grade from their reviews over the last three years with Angie’s List. The company must be in good standing with Angie’s List and have received at least three work performed reviews from members in the designated category from November 1, to October 31, 2016. Angie’s List does maintain four award acceptance requirements. Our members expect the best, therefore there are minimum credential requirements to have the opportunity to claim the award through our acceptance process. The provider must have a current, passed background check on file. The provider must record an honest and current trade license attestation. We expect providers are appropriately licensed for all of the services they provide in all of the areas they service. The provider must stay in good standing with Angie’s List (no exclusions). The company must complete the basic, required profile information as a minimum This is great news for Mr***! He doesn’t have to make any monthly payments or be an advertiser with Angie’s List to accept the Super Service Award, for which he has been nominated! I’m not sure why he has submitted a complaint to the Revdex.com at this time, as the complaint expressed does not exist. The acceptance of the Super Service Award is 100% FREE to all nominees. We strive to provide top notch customer service, and we regret that Mr*** felt that he had no recourse but to turn to the Revdex.com Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. Kind regards, Jesse M*** Angie’s List
I would like to know the dollar amount of the credit that is being offeredWhat was offered was a credit for the 35% early termination fee being waived and a credit for the months my ad ran incorrectly, but that still leaves the actual credit amount unknownIf you could give me a breakdown of what that would amount to like 35% off the $1,up-front fee for a $credit and $per month for each month my ad ran incorrectly for a $creditThat would be helpful. *** ***

brought against our company On 3/1/2016, *** ***, the office manager of *** *** *** ***, agreed to advertise with Angie’s List for one year per an electronically signed agreement. We require each prospective advertiser to sign a contract outlining the services Angie’s List will render, the relevant categories and the ad rate a service provider must pay for these servicesEach contract includes a standard cancellation fee of 35% of the remaining balance of the agreement. Ms*** was in communication with representatives discussing the company’s advertising for several months prior to accepting the contract. During this time, Mr*** was sent emails at ***. This would mean that Mr*** was made aware of the contract negotiations being discussed with his office manager, Ms***. Ms*** also indicated to the Angie’s List advertising representative that she was discussing and getting approval from Mr*** before the company entered into the advertising contract In June 2016, Angie’s List received a phone call from *** asking about the company’s contract. On 6/27/2016, a new contact, ***, reached out to Angie’s List to advise that Ms*** was no longer with the company. *** requested to cancel the advertisements at that time. When he was advised of the early termination fee, he threatened legal action and ended the call. On 6/29/2016, *** called back and requested to leave their advertisements active and stated that the company no longer wished to cancel Angie’s List has attempted to get in direct contact with Mr*** relentlessly. We have sent emails, called, and left multiple voice mailsMr*** did not interact with Angie’s List representatives until after the company had cancelled the advertising contract and had been excluded for ‘Non-Payment of Advertising’. Mr*** contacted Angie’s List on 12/13/to ask about the advertising contract and the invoice he had received for the early termination fee. He was informed of the early termination fee that resulted from the cancellation. From that point forward, Mr*** referred all representatives to speak to *** to address concerns On 12/20/2016, *** claimed that the previous representative, Ms*** did not have authorization to sign the contract. At this time, Angie’s List ran an internal audit on the sales process for this company. There were no wrong doings found by any Angie’s List employee and that the company had knowingly and willingly entered into an advertising contract with Angie’s List. At this time, the complaint Mr*** has filed should be sought after Ms*** directly. Ms*** was an employee of Mr*** who was in a position of authority at the company. Ms*** entered the company into an advertising contract, which Mr*** was included in email communications. *** has advised that the company is not going to pay the early termination fee, which will result in the debt being sent to a 3rd party collections agency and the exclusion placed on their profile remaining The early termination fee is still owed for the cancellation of the advertising contract that *** *** *** *** entered into knowingly. *** also knowingly stated on 6/29/that the company wished to continue with the advertising contract, which negates any and all claims that these charges were fraudulent on the part of Angie’s List. Once payment for the funds owed to Angie’s List have been paid in full, the exclusion on Mr***s business profile will be removed and the company will again be shown on Angie’s List in good standing We strive to provide top notch customer service to members and service providers alike and regret that the consumer was disappointed with his experience with Angie’s ListWe delivered to the extent of our contractAngie’s List and Mr***s company have a binding agreement, and just as we have acted in accordance with our obligations, so must Mr*** Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information. I apologize if Mr*** somehow missed this email notification Mr*** initially joined Angie’s List on 8/17/Mr*** agreed to automatic renewal on his account when he joined. His membership also informs him that his account will be automatically renewed on the date that ends his current term. Mr*** emailed Angie’s List on 4/3/to request the cancellation of his membership. Mr***’s cancellation request was processed at that time. Mr***, of his own accord, signed up for a Silver Membership with Angie’s List online on 2/3/2016. At this time, Mr*** again agreed to the automatic renewal of his membership, thus leading to the $charge to his credit card. Gold level memberships come with Call Center phone support. As a Silver member, Mr*** was advised to utilize our Chat option for his cancellation request. On 2/8/2017, Mr*** chatted with a representative who kindly assisted Mr*** with his cancellation request and issued his refund accordingly I’m not familiar with Mr***’s remarks about cancelling and re-issuing his credit card. That conversation must have been with his financial institution, not with Angie’s List With that being said, Mr***’s membership has been cancelled and refunded in the amount of $9.99. Mr*** was informed that his membership was cancelled and refunded on 2/8/2017. Angie’s List will apologize for Mr***’s confusion with his membership. Angie’s List notifies every member 30-days prior to their automatic renewal. Angie’s List does not automatically renew any customer who has cancelled their membership or does not have an active membership Thanks again for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let me know if we can provide any further information.
