I am rejecting this response because:I have taken the time to pick up a copy of the police reportIt was available days after the accident on December 15, So I don't understand why you guys are not doing your jobI am coming out of pocket too much and it's a strain on my life because your policy holder won't contact you or you are not doing your job in contacting the policy holderI understand the time frame in the decision of completing a claimI know for a fact this is a sub insurance companyYou guys will act like you're doing your job but then will disappearSo I took the initiative and got a lawyerSee you soon.

They have since discussed the claim, her notes

Once we receive these items, we can proceed with the claimHe states he didn't receive the email sent by our adjuster previously but we are unsure if he checked his SPAM/Bulk Mail folder where these items sometimes end up

I contacted Unique Insurance well before October and Ms*** was provided with my email contact well before October In addition I left it on her voice message on at least two other occasions before OctIt wasn't until my Revdex.com complaint that this Mr*** most likely asked her to call meI don't consider this reaching out to me
Ms*** never called to confirm she had the correct email addressMs*** did call me later that day and said she would email said documents to me (she was suppose to do that two weeks earlier)
I received the documents from Ms***I reviewed the "Estimate of Record" as well as the release she said I would have to sign before my claim would be paidAs is my right, I asked an attorney friend to review the documentsHe was not retained for any professional services at allHe did this at no cost to meI also asked a shop that I frequent to look over my vehicleThe shop made a few recommendations and also raised concern about the low estimate for repairsPlease note that Ms*** also assured me that the estimate would cover the cost as long as I took it the body shop she worked withIsn't that coercion? Nonetheless, I responded via email to Ms*** (on October 15) with the information I gathered and asked her if Unique would adjust the Estimate of RecordThis was due to the headlamp assembly damage that was NOT included on her estimate as well as the front end alignment which is strongly recommended buy my mechanicToday at 11:46AM, I received the following reply from Ms***;
"Good Afternoon
Mr.*** you have notated you have an attorney will speak with him or her about the claim for now on
Thank You"
Although her message is not very clear, grammar wise, she appears to assume that I have retained an attorneyShe also appears to state that she will only speak to him or her "for now on"Does Unique Insurance have the statutory authority to bar me from consulting my attorney? I am the claimant, not my attorneyThis is simply another tactic by Ms***, and Unique, to ignore or delay my claim
Regarding my injured armI am an amputee who wears a prosthetic limbThis prosthetic limb broke at the elbow hinge due to hitting the door or the dashI do not recall the specifics of the accident, just as was stated in the ISP accident reportMy front tooth was also chipped as a result of hitting the steering wheel or the possibly the dash, as I said I don't recall
I have not submitted a claim for these as I have not made an appointment with my dentist or my prosthetist as these will likely be out-of-pocket expensesConsidering Unique Insurance's past history of paying claims, I am reluctant to pay for these necessary appointments for fear of not being reimbursedThe broken prosthesis makes many everyday chores, as simple as tying shoes, rather difficultAgain, at this point, Unique Insurance must be held to honor its own statutory obligation as an insurer in the State of Illinois and settle my vehicle claimThe accident occurred on September 3, and today is October 16, and Unique Insurance has not made an honest or ethical effort to settle this claim

Our adjuster and SrVP of claims have both reached out to Mr*** today in an attempt to allow for his cooperation in this claim
The adjuster said he is refusing to sign a release form, after a discussion with his friend who happens to be an attorneyI reviewed his e-mail to the adjuster and discovered that she misconstrued this portion of his e-mailUnique in no way meant to infer that he couldn't consult counsel; she had taken it to me he had retained counselOnce counsel is retained, we cannot legally speak with the person who retained the attorney; we would need to go through their legal representative
Our Senior Vice President sent Mr*** the following e-mail:
Mr***,
I am extremely sorry for the inconvenience the accident with our insured has caused youUnfortunately we can't settle your property damage claim without getting a signed property damage release onlyThis release only releases our insured and the company from any other further property damage claim related to the accident you might haveIt is not intended nor will it release any injury claim or cause of action you may have because of the accident other than for property damage
Your injury claim and medical bills will be treated separatelyIn order for us to come up with an offer to settle the claim for the damage to your prosthetic arm and your chipped tooth we will need the medical bills and doctors report to properly evaluate this portion of your claimYou will also have to either produce a paid bill for the replacement of the prosthetic arm or a repair billOnce we have this documentation we will be in a better position to offer you a fair and equitable settlement
It is very important to note that in Illinois you have two years (2) from the date of the loss to file a cause of action with the courts for your injury claim and five years (5) to file a cause of action for your property damage claim

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.Yes, the check was issued on 2/1/However, it may not have been signed until Tuesday, therefore not mailed until Tuesday or WednesdayThe USPS no longer guarantees delivery of mail in 2-business days as they used to but the check
should be to the complainant by Monday or Tuesday of next week, I would thinkOnce the item is mailed Unique has no control over when it is deliveredIf the check does not arrive within business days, the complainant can contact Unique and we will stop payment and re-issue a new check.Thank you,Nick ***

After reveiwing the claims notes, I see that the complainant's vehicle is deemed a total loss, Unique made an offer and the complainant accepted, as of today, 06/24/Once a vehicle is deemed a total loss, the claim usually takes a bit longer to process, also Unique needed to order a *** report to establish liability of the accident.This claim is moving toward complete resolution and should be closed once the paperwork sent to the complainant is returned to the company.Thank you,*** ***

Thank you for respondingUnique then misinformed me that the policy holder did have insurance at the time of the accident and told me that the claim was closed due to finding the policy holder not at faultBecause of the misinformation and lack of communication, I've been without a vehicle for over two monthsI'd like the adjuster and/or company to provide written notice, call, and proof that the claim was denied due to the car not being insured to me and my claims adjuster from my insurance companySo I can go forth with repairing my vehicle

I am rejecting this response because:The complaintant (*** *** did NOT receive any response at all (no phone calls, no e-mails, nothing) from Unique insurance company. *** *** left numerous voicemails and e-mails to Unique insurance company - based in ILLINOIS - and still have never heard ANYTHING from Unique insurance company. My insurance company had to represent me and had to call Unique insurance company before Unique insurance company would respond - but Unique insurance company never had the courtesy to respond to ANY of *** ***'s inquiries. Shameful company.This company should receive an F minus rating from the ILLINOIS Revdex.com, and should be closely watched by the *** ** *** *** *** for others that Unique insurance company does not respond to. Check the current ILLINOIS Revdex.com complaints against Unique insurance company. Shameful company.

I am rejecting this response because: I myself and he has called on several occasions and no one has attempted to call or answer his phone callHe was in court the ONE time they actually reached outI call his cell and office and I've not received any prompt stating his VM is full as a matter of fact they normally answer right awayI also must state that the new adjuster that I was assigned Mr*** is no longer with the company and I wasn't informedI 've been leaving messages for him and nothing was disclosed until my lien holder called another department thats when we were made aware of the situation.

a licensed automobile rental agency/business; which a cab ride is notHe explained that he cannot create coverage where it doesn't existThe insured said she understoodHe also mentions that the receipt is of note because the can company receipt is for $with a hand written note of $39.50.At this time, Unique stands by this manager's decision.Thank you again,*** ***

payment forms, bills/records, for this part of the claimAt this time, I also advised insured that because she is a new policyholder (effective date of policy is 1/03/15) and accident occurred on 1/06/15, we need additional documents from her such as Bill of Sale and Proof of Prior Insurance to conduct an investigation and make sure coverage is okayI advised we will obtain police report
1/12/15: Insured called me on this date and left a messageI returned her call and left a voice mail for her in returnThe insured called back the same day and I advised her that we are awaiting the police report, and required documentation from her
1/19/15: I received the police report and called insured, left a message on v/m the same day advising I still need some documentation
1/21/15: I called insured again to advise her again that we are awaiting documents from her, she advised she mailed on 1/16/
1/22/15: I received partial documents and called insured to advise her that we still need all documents requested, she advised she will forwardDocument for medical payment still has not been submitted
1/26/15: I received some documentation from Insured, I then sent request to our Underwriting Department to review of coverage
1/29/15: Coverage was found to be okay by underwriting, I called insured to advise that repairs have been approved, I also advised her of the estimate, betterment, deductible and rental process againInsured wanted to bring in her owns parts so that she would not be responsible to pay for betterment, I advised insured to discuss with body shop, she agreed and understoodI also advised insured we still need Medical Payment form before medical payment claim can be resolved, she said she understood
02/03/15: I called insured regarding repairs and additional documentationInsured advised she will fax documents todayPayment of medical bill and rental will be issued upon receipt of required documents, this was explained to insured
