Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.Unique has addressed all of this complainant's issues. Yesterday, 02/06/2017, we received an email from the complainant asking about a $232.00 discrepancy in his rental reimbursement; on 01/20/2017, he was advised that Unique would pay his rental fee from 12/16/16 which is the date his vehicle was dropped off at the body shop. At this time, we have paid his rental reimbursement, the original estimate and the supplemental estimate. I will say that this complainant was very upset with our employees when they explained the rental reimbursement program; he was upset that we would not provide him a rental even after we assured him that we would reimburse him. He became very abrupt with our employees. We reimbursed him for 28.75 days starting on 12/16/16 and the check was issued on 02/03/17. The claim is paid and we have closed it. Thank you,Nick Dorado

Again, this paperwork was not received by Unique Insurance. Per the adjuster's notes..."We never received the requested theft paperwork that was requested to send into our office; notarized affidavit of vehicle theft, police report, verification of employment, bill of sale, finance company information or copy of title if not making payments, proof of prior insurance, any keys that may be available and an appointment to do a recorded statement. Also the vehicle was given to a family member to drive which may result in a denial due to the vehicle was not taken with forced entry and there was no carjacking. We also mailed out status letters to the insured advising what was needed to proceed. I have spoke with the insured and the claim will not be reopened she gave the car to her family member to drive to another state."At this time, Unique is standing by the decision to not re-open this claim.Thank you,[redacted]

of mind. According to Illinois Department of Insurance guidelines, we have 60 days to try and resolve your claim. I believe we are well within that standard. We are not ignoring your calls and hoping you just go away, our adjusters are very busy and have intense workloads. Try as they might, sometimes a call is not returned in a timely manner. The supervisors also receive numerous calls on a daily basis and also have their own claims to work on while managing a team. Unique is working to ensure all claims are handled and resolved within the guidelines set by the IL DOI; your patience is appreciated. At this time, our adjuster has been in touch with the complainant (12/31) and notified of her of the current process toward resolving this claim. She explained thoroughly how we received her paperwork, we are attempting to contact the insured and receive a police report. She advised the complainant about the need for a vehicle inspection and set it up in our systems. We have also attempted to notify our insured of the process and we are not able to get in contact with the insured. This may delay the claim as well as we have a duty to work with our insured on their claim. I know with the holidays, it may seem we are not getting to her claim but we are definitely working to resolution.Thank you,Nick [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:i submitted all the requested documents and keys to the vehicle. Please check mail room! My agent Mr. [redacted] would not return any of my calls! How do I go about having my claim reopened? How can a claim be denied when the vehicle was stolen!!!! If this claim is not reopened I will pursue with a [redacted]

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint.The complainant went to shops of her choice to have her vehicle repaired, which obviously is her choice entirely. However, Unique has contracts with preferred vendors who work on negotiated rates contracted through our company.A Unique...

appraiser reviewed the work which needs to be completed and I can assure the complainant that our appraisers are skilled in their work, otherwise they would not be working at this company. Non-accident related damage would not be covered by any company. Unique stands by the decision of its appraiser.Thank you,[redacted]
