Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowSince Auto’s Direct is happy to lean on what they consider to be inconsistencies, these few comments will forever straighten that out so they can no longer hide or dodge what the real issue is within this complaint
As to the payment of the $to the mechanic: Because the arrangement to have the truck mechanically checked out was originally brokered BETWEEN THE MECHANIC AND THE *** there was no reason for the *** to assume the dealership would be paying for itThe *** only became aware of the fact it had been paid for by the dealership when they were leaving the lot after purchasing the truck. On leaving the lot *** *** *** stopped us and asked us if we were going to reimburse the dealership for the cost of the mechanics assessment, again, for clarity, we were unaware the dealership had paid itSo in response we (the ***) explained to him that we did agree to pay for the inspection, but only to the mechanic, not to the dealership*** *** *** then said that he would cancel the payment so we could then pay the mechanic directlySO BASICALLY THE INCONSISTENCY, SO ADAMANTLY EXCLAIMED BY AUTO’S DIRECT, IS THE FACT THAT WE THOUGHT WE WOULD BE PAYING THE MECHANIC, AND ONLY AFTER THE INITIAL REVIEW WAS POSTED DID WE BECOME AWARE THAT AUTO’S DIRECT DID NOT RECANT ON THE PAYMENT AND IN SO THEN NEGATED US HAVING TO PAY IT. IF THE DEALERSHIP (AUTO’S DIRECT) WOULD HAVE READ ALL THREE COMPLAINTS IN EARNEST IT WOULD BE OBVIOUS TO THEM WHAT THIS INCONSISTANCY WAS
And just to be clear this explanation, other than to clarify a sequence of events, has nothing to do with our complaint to the Revdex.com
Did we have the truck checked out? Yes we had the truck checked out by a reputable diesel mechanic, and at the time it was released back to Auto’s Direct, the truck did not have “blow by” in the engine block requiring replacement of the engine. Auto’s Direct damaged the truck engine by their continued use of ether to start the truck after it left the mechanicThis does have relevance to our complaint
Did the dealership discount the price? Yes the sale of the truck was discounted for what was known to be mechanically issues with the engine, which as evaluated by the mechanic was the replacement of the injectors and few other minor items as well as the repair of a major oil leak amounting to a total of $6,worth of repairsThat is not even taking into consideration the fact the dealership had originally agreed to do some body work worth $In the end the dealership only discounted $from the original asking price of $14,to make it $11,That was well below the required amount of $7,to pay for all the repairsNo real value to us by the dealership because that left us having to pay for all those repairs, but none the less we accepted that in the purchase and this too is not what our complaint is about
Did we insist that the vehicle be started? Absolutely!! But we emphatically insisted it not be started with ether and in doing so before we purchased it we had to wait for several hours for the block to warm for the engine to start without the use of etherLet’s not forget that *** *** *** was adamant the truck would start without issue if we came down the next day to purchase itThat was obviously NOT the case!!!! Again this too is irrelevant and is not part of our complaint
Did we drive the truck home? NO !!! and where Auto’s Direct got that information or impression from is unclear because the complaint expressly states we took the truck directly from the dealership to the mechanic which is only an hour awayThis inconsistency IS NOT OF OUR DOING BUT OF AUTO’S DIRECT doing, and stands as irrefutable proof and further reference to the dealership not taking time to completely read OUR complaint. Although this is an inconsistency of minor repute it too is not our complaint
WHAT IS OUR COMPLAINT? For the record, and without dispute, our complaint is the fact that when the dealership picked up the truck from the mechanic they continued to use ether to start the engine even after being asked not to by both of us (the *** and the mechanic), and in so that has damaged the engine beyond repair requiring a replacement engine be installedThis only became apparent after the purchase of the truck for which we (the ***) had every reasonable expectation it would be as it was when the truck was evaluated by the mechanicOur (the ***) complete and full knowledge of what repairs where necessary to the truck prior to purchase was a major contributing condition in our (the ***) decision to purchase the truckUnfortunately after the purchase when the truck was returned to the mechanic it became apparent that additional damage was done by Auto’s Direct’s to the engine by their continued use of ether to start the engine while in their (Auto’s Direct) custodyThis resulting in the engine having to be replacedThe replacement of the engine was an ADDITIONAL COST OF $7,to us (the ***) for which we (the ***) want Auto’s Direct to reimburse us for
The use of ether is strictly prohibited and fully documented within the *** *** manual within the truck’s glove box and should have been adhered to by the dealership. Auto’s Direct did start and continued to start the engine with ether which is clearly a case of gross negligence on the part of Auto’s Direct by not taking or observing due diligence to preserve and protect the truck’s integrity as it was when evaluated by the certified *** *** prior to the saleWe (the ***) had every expectation the truck would be in the same condition it was when it was evaluated by the mechanic and that would be the expected “As is” condition of the truck at the time of purchase but due to the dealership’s negligence the truck’s engine was damaged unbeknownst to us. For this reason we are seeking damages from Auto’s direct of $for the replacement engine and the labor cost to install it.

This correspondence is in reference to a complaint submitted by *** *** regarding a *** *** purchased from our Cambridge Street location in October, I would first like to state that Eric R*** is no longer employed by Autos DirectHe was terminated in December 2015. Further, it is outside of our sales policies and procedures to ever run a person's credit without them present at the dealershipI have pulled the file for Mr***I would like the opportunity to make things rightWe value all of our patrons, and rely on repeat business for our continued growth in the area
I am willing to fix the A/C leakage, and I will provide Mr*** with a courtesy vehicle to drive if the repair will take more than a day for any reasonI am not a bank, but I do have access to a variety of lenders and I can explore re-financing options for Mr*** for him, but I would need him to be present at the dealershipThis time, I would like for him to come to our Lafayette Boulevard location. This is located at Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22408. He may set up an appointment to come in with me directly via email or by calling 540-300-Sarah JB***

*** *** The dealership (Autos Direct) called me once they received the complaint but not to resolve any
issuesMy sales guy (Tony) called me to say I left out things out of my complaint and that I should tell the whole story and not the just part of the storyHe was referring to the fact that they gave me a loaner car for the months that they had my car and that I was reimbursed for the batteryI informed him that I left out the latter because they refunded the money AFTER the complain was madThe delay in refund was the final straw before I made the complaint. I am currently, as I type this message, on hold with Autos Direct while they pull my information because I have a service warranty that suppose to be good for months but when I called to utilize it for repairs, I was told the warranty had expired and was canceled out by Autos Direct on 6/28/which is less than a month after it was purchased. Call me or email me if you need anything further

We were initially quoted a price and told that it included the new top that was being put on at that timeWhen we found out that was a lie, we offered $more dollars to cover the new top (their new price was $more to put on a new top)We were then told it was soldI called for two weeks after that and was told the car was still available, had not sold, and the top was not put on but we could put down a deposit and they would put the top onBy the way, the advertised price on Auto Trader, which is where we saw the original ad, still had the lower priceIt is a game to get you in the door and then sell you something elseAnd the car is STILL not soldThey are liars, and it was a very unsettling experience for us, considering we had made plans to travel the very next weekend to Virginia to pick up the carWe would have been stuck there with no way to get home., other than to buy one of their other vehiclesShame on them for scamming honest people who just wanted a fair deal

*** ***,
As soon as the discovery was made that you DO in fact owe $1,000, we did attempt to call you immediatelyYou purchased the vehicle on a SaturdayYour Buyer's Order reflected that you paid $1,cash, then $11,cash, then $1,on a credit cardYou were helped by *** ***We discovered that an error was made because when you initially looked at the vehicle, you were going to put some money down and come back with the rest later, in cash(Per ***) So as he was loading your deal into the system, he put $1,cash (even though he had not received that amount from you yet) He said that you then decided not to leave and get more cash, and to go ahead and put the balance on your credit card
He explained that he got busy with other customers and had *** finish up the paperwork with youHe directed her to collect the balance due from youShe thought he had already received the $1,cash, which he did notThis entry was made into my system in errorShe proceeds to collect $11,cash from you, and run the balance on your credit card ($1,398)I was searching for the $1,cash deposit, when we discovered the error that had been made*** called the number listed in your file IMMEDIATELY once we discovered the errorThe phone was answered by a woman who abruptly hung up the phone on him when he stated who he was When he tried to call back (on SEVERAL occasions), the was no answer
The fact of the matter is, you should know how much you providedIf you do have another receipt for that extra $1,you say was collected, I would like to see thatIt was an error that was made and not deleted from the systemThat does not mean that you do not owe the balance My records reflect that we collected $11,cash from you and $1,on a credit card*** was supposed to have charged your card for a total of $2,but did not Aside from your buyer's order (because even if there is a substantial promissory note, once it is entered into the system, it will zero out the bottom line balance), if you have a cash receipt (we always provide those separately) or a credit card receipt that shows you have already paid the balance, I will have to move forward and collect this I am not in business to scam anyone, we have been around for quite some timeWe do a very large volume of sales in the areaI wouldn't want to accuse you of realizing the mistake, knowing how much you actually came out of pocket for the vehicle, but trying to get away with not paying the other $1,because you can (and scamming me)We have been trying to get a hold of you, and to be honest, after a full week of trying and absolutely no luck with the phone number you provided, I instructed *** and *** to just wait until such time that you called in for your title It seems very strange to me that you would choose to take this route first, as if you were wronged
Again, once your balance is cleared, I will be happy to overnight your title to you

Because nothing specific has been said to clarify what the cost would be for "reconditioning" (vacumming the floor mats) and the cost of each additional mile after Saturday 1/16/2016. I will not except any monies received under the amount of $1400.00 which is based on the average cost of a basic vehicle detail and the average cost of over milage fees, total being $100.00.

Revdex.com spoke with the business. The customer wanted the price that was advertised but also wanted the business to cover issues with the car but still sell the vehicle as the price. The business decline their requested and the vehicle was sold to another customer. The business is sorry for the time...

spent researching the vehicle.

As a fellow business owner, I think [redacted] is well-versed in the usage of Revdex.com to "vent".
Actually, we discounted the truck $[redacted] ($14,995 being the asking price and $11,995 being the agreed upon sale price.)
I have answered this same complaint 4 times. I am not reimbursing any costs for any repairs on this truck. For the record, there isn't much of a difference between driving this vehicle one hour away to the mechanic or two hours away to your home. You were not concerned enough about the condition of the truck to have it towed. Either way, you took delivery of the vehicle as-is. You had ample time to inspect the vehicle. You had the vehicle inspected by a third-party.
And yet you continue to make bad review after bad review after bad review after bad review. Why would you think that I would discount the entire cost (your cost) of repair to accommodate you? I set the pricing of my inventory, and I adjust it accordingly to each situation. You were not forced to make this purchase, it was a purchase that you made willingly and while fully aware of the numbers and the condition of the vehicle.  Again, I will not offer to pay for your repairs, sir.

To whom this matter may concern,On 10/09/2015 we (Autos Direct) were hosting a liquidation event where Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] purchased their [redacted]. As a part of this liquidation event, we advertised a $2000 voucher to be used towards the purchase of a...

vehicle. The advertisement was reviewed and approved by the States Attorney Generals office before being disbursed. The above mentioned customers were able to use their voucher and negotiate a deal that was agreed upon.In the portion of this complaint titled "Desired Settlement", the customer mentioned average and clean NADA trade in values being at between 13900-14425...Trade in value is not what we normally sell vehicles at. That would be retail value. With all due respect, you don't expect go to any business and expect them to sell you goods or services at wholesale/trade in value. Also, the customer referenced paying close to $19000, but after taxes, tags and applicable fees, they only financed $16300. I honestly feel that this a clear case of buyers remorse. This customer was completely satisfied when he took delivery of his vehicle. His perception only changed after speaking with a 3rd party. We at Autos Direct, rest on the fact that we provided good customer service paired with a quality preowned vehicle to this client and all other clients.Sincerest Regards,[redacted]General Manager

Mr. [redacted] said in his message that the amount financed was 16,300.00, and this is not true. See the attached .pdf, and it shows that the amount financed is $17,983.62, thats a far cry from $16,300.00 especially at 20% interest over a 72 month term. I would be happy if Mr. Ruiz would rewrite the contract to reflect the $16,300.00 as the balance due/financed. The number he says it was financed at is different from the attached and I feel as if that is what he stated it to be, then he should make it exactly that, balance due/financed at $16,300.00, is this fair? It is too some extent, but again, in my opinion, is not in any way a clean retail trade in. In any event, please resolve the problem by bringing me back in and rewriting the contract to reflect the $16,300.00 as the amount financed.
Regards,
[redacted]
