Autos Direct, Inc Reviews (113)

Revdex.com spoke with a representative of the business who stated that the customer was given an incorrect buyer's order when the salesman made a mistake, she later brought the check in for the amount of $8995. The business stated at that point, they were going to cancel the transaction because they...

couldn't allow the vehicle to be purchased for that low, and that their paperwork states that they have the ability to cancel a transaction anytime at their discretion. The business states that the customer then called her father, and the father paid the difference in the purchase price, and that the transaction went through. They did not hear from the customer again about this issue until several months later when they attempted to secure the title for her trade in. They state that they were not able to get it clear because of a previous loan that had not had the information updated, and they requested that the customer try to resolve the title issue with the business where the loan was taken out. They stated they did not try to "bribe" her, but that they did offer $100 for her time to get the issue resolved.

First and foremost let me start out by saying I was REALLY skeptical about buying a car from Autos Direct Inc. after doing my research and reading all the reviews, but they had a really nice [redacted] that I wanted and in my price range so I decided to give them a chance. My visit there was not very long. The salesman all worked as a team which is rare in the car business. They listened to me and were very helpful and friendly not to mention funny which made me feel comfortable. The GM was also involved in my purchase after voicing my concerns about the breaks and a tire he agreed to fix before I even took delivery of the vehicle, which was great seeing that my daughter will be in the car with me so for safety issues they took care of it with no hesitation. The finance part was painless I came prepared with all I needed and that made the process a lot faster. These group of people at the [redacted] location are probably the best in the business to my knowledge. Their customer service and team player attitude is what really sold me. I would definitely recommend them to all my family and friends. Definitely worth giving them a chance AAAAA++++++ Thank you! Proud Owner of a [redacted] as of September 2015

Ms. [redacted] was given a chance to cancel the purchase of the 2006 BMW. However, shechose to keep the vehicle and drive it all weekend putting additional miles on the vehicleand returning it filthy. She will be receiving a refund of monies down less any mileagedeductions and any reconditioning fees....

This is being handled by the accountingdepartment and usually takes 10-15 days to process.

When the father of the customer called in, it was my understanding that he asked us to pay for the part and for him to find someone to install it. That was the issue. The offer was not pulled off of the table at any time. We declined the father's counter-offer and maintained that if they would purchase the part (and we would help them to get our wholesale cost on the part), we would go ahead and do the labor free of charge.
It has been so many months, and no further contact has been made, until this complaint.  [redacted] could have, at any time, called in and accepted that offer.
It was unfortunate that the vehicle needed repairs.  All vehicles, whether new or used, and used being more often, obviously, require a level of repair and maintenance. It is the cost of ownership.  We tried to offer a reasonable solution at the time, and it was declined by the father.  [redacted] did not call in to follow up on the situation.

To whom this matter may concern,
sans-serif;">On 10/09/2015 we (Autos Direct) were hosting a liquidation event where Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] purchased their [redacted]. As a part of this liquidation event, we advertised a $2000 voucher to be used towards the purchase of a vehicle. The advertisement was reviewed and approved by the States Attorney Generals office before being disbursed.
The above mentioned customers were able to use their voucher and negotiate a deal that was agreed upon.
In the portion of this complaint titled "Desired Settlement", the customer mentioned average and clean NADA trade in values being at between 13900-14425...
Trade in value is not what we normally sell vehicles at. That would be retail value. With all due respect, you don't expect go to any business and expect them to sell you goods or services at wholesale/trade in value.
Also, the customer referenced paying close to $19000, but after taxes, tags and applicable fees, they only financed $16300. I honestly feel that this a clear case of buyers remorse. This customer was completely satisfied when he took delivery of his vehicle. His perception only changed after speaking with a 3rd party. We at Autos Direct, rest on the fact that we provided good customer service paired with a quality preowned vehicle to this client and all other clients.
Sincerest Regards,
[redacted]
General Manager

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing in regards to case number [redacted] regarding [redacted]. [redacted].  Ms. [redacted] purchased a [redacted] from Autos Direct on August 5, 2015.  Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain financing on this vehicle for her.  Numerous attempts were made to contact Ms. [redacted] to let her know that the vehicle needed to be returned to Autos Direct.  However, calls to the numbers she provided us were never returned.  I also tried to contact her at work.  However, she was not there.
Ms. [redacted] should have been aware of the problem as she never received any information as to making payments on the vehicle. Also, she was driving on altered 30 day tags as you can see from the attachment.  I am also including an attachment showing the right of repossession that Ms. [redacted] signed when she signed the paperwork for the [redacted]
I understand Ms. [redacted]’s frustrations.  However, at the time of purchase the [redacted] had 64,866 miles.  When it was back in our possession, the mileage was 69,215.  This difference of 4,349 miles at 18.5 cents per mile, the Virginia allowable charge, repossession fee of $350 and $300 restocking fee to clean and prepare the vehicle for sale equals $1,754.57.  Therefore, Ms. [redacted] has an outstanding balance owed to Autos Direct of $254.57.  These are unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances for us as well.  We are in the business to provide reliable transportation and help our customers.  However, this was not possible in this situation.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
That offer was made if I was able to get the car from to Fredericksburg to DC. While I was trying to find someone to tow the car down there for cheap, my father and I spoke with the General Manager who told me that they wouldn't do anything regarding the repairs, not even the offer that was made to me by [redacted], one of the Finance Managers. So no I did not decline the offer, the offer was taken off the table after speaking with the General Manager. They are crooks. And this isn't the first time they have sold someone a crappy car. They knew the car was not in the best condition and sold it to me anyway. If I had saw all the negative reviews before I went down there, I would have never given them my business. They take advantage of people who really need a vehicle, like me.
Regards,
[redacted]

I have reviewed the complaint made by [redacted].  It was an error on our inventory manager's part listing "navigation" in the options list.  We do have a large inventory, and at times, these types of mistakes happen.  When [redacted] came in to speak to[redacted], the first thing he...

brought up with the navigation. [redacted] apologized and stated it must have been a mistake.  And everything that was stated in the complaint afterward was true. He noticed the mismatched tires, we offered to replace them with good used tires, to which he declined.  He wanted new tires. So, in order to make him happy, we offered to either (a) get the new tires put on that day, or (b) give him $500 off the price of the vehicle to do it on his own in his own time.  He declined, and left the lot.  I'm not sure what else could have been done to make him happy, and I do not think that he was looking for us to remedy the situation - but we tried.  [redacted], I formally apologize on behalf of Autos Direct, Inc. and hope you had luck finding the right vehicle for you.

[redacted] they never respond because they sell the damaged cars to every one.

To Whom It May Concern: This response is in regards to Revdex.com
Case# [redacted]. On November 27, 2015, a 2013 Nissan [redacted] was sold to
Mr. [redacted] not [redacted] who has filed the Revdex.com complaint. Autos Direct
does not have any contract with such customer. If Ms. [redacted] is referring to
Mr. [redacted]...

who did purchase a 2013 [redacted] on the above mentioned date, that
vehicle was sold AS-IS and absolutely nothing was promised to the customer per
our documents, secondly not to mention that we do not have any purchased
service contract by the customer. Vehicle was sold AS-ls with a valid safety
inspection. As far as us being is, this is a loan, which means for your
personal information, that it belongs to the lender that gave you a loan. When
you miss your first payment it becomes an account not paid as agreed. In other
terms, you are in bad standing with such lender and in default. Autos Direct is
not a bank. [redacted] is not a purchaser here. Please remove this complaint
as you do not have a contract with Autos Direct. Vehicle was sold AS"IS,
no service contract, and the loan belongs to a bank. Please refer to them if
you would like to have things removed from your credit.

I would definetly recommend any customers to purchase a vechile from auto direct customer service is fantastic as a customer I have purchased with this one my fourth vechile. Is definerlty a great dealer atmosphere is perfect vechiles are In Great working condition and their prices are very satisfing

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Because nothing specific has been said to clarify what the cost would be for "reconditioning" (vacumming the floor mats) and the cost of each additional mile after Saturday 1/16/2016. I will not except any monies received under the amount of $1400.00 which is based on the average cost of a basic vehicle detail and the average cost of over milage fees, total being $100.00.

Revdex.com spoke with [redacted] from the company and she stated that the warranty was good for 30 days and did not cover the computer in the car. [redacted] offered to the consumer to pay for the part at cost and the consumer did not have to pay for the labor but the offer was declined.

MY RESPONSE WILL FOLLOW:
Bait
and switch Beware.
by [redacted] from Bluemont Va. | January
19, 2014
Our experience started out looking
as if we were going to be a valued customer, they even allowed us to have the
truck taken to a third party to be checked out, and however I had to pay to
have the vehicle moved. All seemed to be going well until it became evident
there was a considerable amount of mechanical work that had to be done for the
truck to be worth what they were asking for it. In the end it was discovered
that a considerable amount of mechanical work was necessary and there needed to
be an adjustment on the asking price. We felt that the dealership would be
considerate of that and rightfully adjust the price however when we did agree
on an adjusted price and a trade in value for our vehicle over the phone we
then agreed to travel two hours to make the deal. The next day we set out early
in separate vehicles to make the deal. On our arrival the truck did not start
as we were told it would and then to further aggravate the situation the sales
rep did not honor the deal we had made on the phone the previous night. He
changed the entire deal as to the amount we would be given for our trade in
even though this was the second time there in our truck and they had already
seen it so the condition of our trade in did not change. Basically it turned
out to be a classic used car salesman trick of a bait and switch situation
where we were lead to believe we had a deal but when there on site we were
pressured to make a completely different deal. Ultimately we were screwed out
of $800.00 in the trade in for which we had agreed to. If it were not for the
fact we had paid for having the truck checked out we would have walked on the
deal. As it is we now own the truck and will have to invest of $7000.00 in it
to get it to the shape we had originally hoped it would be in when we first
went to look at the truck. Thank God we had it checked out. Over all take a
ways: 1. They are hard to get to return calls in a timely manner choosing to
return calls in the evening rather than a timely manner 2. When onsite the time
it took to get things done was really strung on, we spent the entire day the
first time and a whole half day the second. 3. Bait and switch, where the sales
rep did not honor his word when you on site ready to make the deal. 4. Threats
of having another party buy the vehicle you are looking at as a pressure
tactic. 5. Not having total knowledge of the mechanical condition of a vehicle
before selling it. 6. Purposely inflating a price of a vehicle with known
Mechanical issues in a strategy to then give a discount for them to an original
asking price rather than asking for a price adjusted for known mechanical
problems. We got lucky we had the vehicle checked out. 7. Typical Strong arm
tactics used by used car salesman including attempts to discredit my thoughts,
concerns and personal knowledge of vehicles and mechanical issues in an attempt
to get a few more dollars. 8. What you think will be your sales rep is not
necessarily the case, when the deal gets tough for them be prepared for a
senior sales rep to step in and attempt to alter the deal.

While I try to be sympathetic to all
of the customers leaving negative replies - I dispute much of what is in this
review. The truck was delivered to your mechanic shop on my dime. I had two of
my lot porters deliver the truck quite some distance to have it checked out by
a third party. They were on my payroll, my overtime, and I bought them gas and
food. I did not receive any monetary commitment from you other than your
refundable down payment should the deal fall through. We did not hide any
defects, we were open with the fact that this particular truck had issues. Your
salesperson forwarded me your proposal that you had done on your excel
spreadsheet. I flat out rejected this offer. I would have been paying you to
take my truck and I was overpaying for your trade in as it was. I told him to
unwind the deal. If he was slow in explaining that to you, I apologize for
that. When you showed up at the dealership on Saturday, I had already voided
out the deal and supposed you had moved on to find a vehicle somewhere else. No
one pressured you into buying the vehicle, I received several phone calls from
my sales manager that day pressuring me to accept a lower price for my vehicle
and inflate the amount for your trade in. At the end of the day, this is a
business. We strive to have good customer service, but I can not simply give my
inventory away. I need to retain some money to pay my employees and be able to
operate. If you were uncomfortable at any time, it was quite acceptable to
decide not to purchase. We gave you our terms at the time of sale. The choice
was yours to make. Simply because I did not accept your counter offer is no
reason to leave a bad review full of untrue accusations. All of our customers
are valuable to us. But that doesn't mean I need to be stupid when running my
business. Those terms were not agreed upon by anyone in management. They were
completely rejected, and I have an email trail proving that. We still bent to
your proposal, and provided you with good customer service by delivering the
truck to your mechanic's shop after hours and at our expense. No good deed goes
unpunished. Unbelievable.
THIS CONSUMER ALSO LEFT A SECOND BAD REVIEW, WHEREBY HE IS INCONSISTENT, AND CHANGING THINGS AROUND SINCE MY 1ST RESPONSE. I DISPUTED THAT REVIEW, AND AFTER CAREFUL CONSIDERATION, [redacted] REMOVED IT.
[redacted] KNEW OF THE EXISTING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRUCK AND DID IN FACT SEND A PROPOSAL, WHICH WAS REJECTED. HE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP ON THE DATE HE MENTIONED, WAS TOLD THAT THE OFFER WAS REJECTED AND STILL WANTED TO STRIKE A DEAL. WE STILL NEGOTIATED THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE WITH HIM AND PROVIDED A SUBSTANTIAL DISCOUNT FROM THE ORIGINAL ASKING PRICE. ALSO, [redacted] INSISTED THAT WE START THE VEHICLE, AND WE ACCOMMODATED HIS REQUEST. WE WERE TRYING TO START THIS VEHICLE IN SUBZERO TEMPERATURES, AND DID SO. AT NO TIME DID [redacted] OBJECT. FURTHERMORE, [redacted] TOOK DELIVERY OF THIS VEHICLE AND DROVE IT TWO HOURS HOME. IF [redacted] WAS THIS CONCERNED ABOUT THE TRUCK, WHY DID HE NOT SEND A TOW CARRIER TO PICK IT UP, OR NOT TAKE DELIVERY AT ALL?
I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING THAT I OFFERED I WOULD DO. THERE ARE TIMES WHEN I WILL, OUT OF GOODWILL, MAKE AN OFFER TO A CUSTOMER TO KEEP THEM HAPPY, REGARDLESS OF HOW IT AFFECTS MY BOTTOM LINE. I BELIEVE THAT IT IS IMPORTANT FOR A CONSUMER TO HAVE FAITH IN THE BUSINESS THEY ARE DEALING WITH, ESPECIALLY WHEN MAKING A LARGE PURCHASE SUCH AS THIS. AT THIS POINT, I AM FINISHED AND AM NOT OFFERING ANY SERVICES OR MONEY TO [redacted] - AS I DO NOT TRUST HIS INTEGRITY, AND HIS STORY IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I DEAL WITH THE FACTS AND THEY ARE THAT:
1. THE TRUCK WAS COMPLETELY EVALUATED BY A THIRD PARTY MECHANIC PRIOR TO SALE. THE EXPENSE FROM THE MECHANIC AND THE EXPENSE OF TRANSPORTING THE TRUCK WERE PAID BY ME.
2. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AS-IS, WITH KNOWLEDGE OF MECHANICAL DEFECTS.
3. THE SALES PRICE OF THE VEHICLE WAS DISCOUNTED TO REFLECT THE WORK THAT NEEDED DONE.
4. [redacted] INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE STARTED SO THAT HE COULD DRIVE THE TRUCK HOME, WHICH IS APPARENTLY 2 HOURS AWAY.
5. [redacted] HAS DONE EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO BAD-MOUTH THIS DEALER AND DEFAME THE CHARACTER OF THIS DEALER.
THAT IS ALL.
