Bought $150 worth of meat from this company. The meat is disgusting. They smell foul and have a strange color to them. Tried taking meat back to tent but it’s been more than 3 day. I don’t know how this company is allowed to sell unsafe “meat”. Wouldn’t feed this to my dogs.

Better Beef Brands Response • Mar 04, 2019

Hello! We are very sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. We can assure you our product is not in any way "unsafe". We have all required health department licensing and regular health inspections. We would be happy to send you a refund if you can provide a copy of your receipt as well as your name and address.

Meat is absolute trash and when we tried returning it to the tent they threatened to kick us out. I’ll be standing by the tent to ensure nobody buys from them next weekend.

Better Beef Brands Response • Mar 04, 2019

Hello! We are very sorry about your experience. We realize we cannot make every single person happy

The food is advertised to be premium cuts of meat however it’s bad meat that’s been frozen and sold at premium prices. It’s not edible ! Paid $165 for bad meat

Better Beef Brands Response • Mar 04, 2019

I can assure you that you did not purchase bad meat. We comply with all health department licensing as well as have routine inspections. We are sorry you are not happy with your purchase, we are happy to send you a refund as long as you can send us your receipt and your name and address

The meat being sold ain't good to be eating and have bad smell to it would highly recommend the code inspectors or who ever in charge of dealing with issues like this to investigate what their selling

Better Beef Brands Response • Mar 04, 2019

Hello! We are very sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. We comply with all health department licensing and have routine inspections. The smell is likely the seasoning, which we realize not everyone will like. We are happy to send you a refund if you can provide your receipt and your name and address.

Meat seems expired and has a foul odor when we opened up a pack. We spend hundred of dollars on the meats who didn’t want to really sell what was being advertised on the radio stations.

Thank you so much for your purchase! God bless you!

Purchased $420 worth of meat from a truck in my local mall parking lot. Right after purchasing I received a call taking me out of state for the fires in California as I am a firefighter so I popped the cases into the freezer and went to Cali for 16 days. Upon returning we pulled some steaks out to thaw and grill. Upon opening the packages we found that the meat stunk pretty bad and had a weird consistency. Suspecting something was up I decided to read the ingredients portion to find that these steaks are pumped full of prune juice and other things. I don't know if the meat was rotten or the additives ruined the meat and created the horrible smell but we opened a few packs and all had a spongy weird consistency and terrible smell. Emails for refund have been unanswered. I see others are being offered half refunds due to being beyond 3 days and I find that unacceptable given they aste selling bulk frozen meat, not everyone cooks it right away. They also need to be more transparent during the sales process telling people that they are not purchasing 100% beef, that prune juice and stuff like metabisulfite are added to the meat and seafooda and to expect a rotten smell. Being honest would avoid many of these complaints. As a first responder with experience as a restaurant general manager being serve safe certified I'm very familiar with proper food safety protocols and none of the packages were improperly stored, handled or contaminated after purchase.

We would be happy to provide you with a refund if you can post a picture of your receipt or proof of purchase

On 9/29/18, I purchased the steak package from their tent they had set up in Fairview Heights. I was assured several times these were prime steaks so I purchased them for $160. The next day we tried the steaks and they had an odd odor and full of gristle. I got the tbones and filets and a few others and none of them were edible. I went to take the steaks back on Day 2 and they were no longer there. I then emailed the company per their contact information on the website and no response. I called the number and it's no longer a working number. I then emailed again and still no response. I followed their refund instructions by trying to return within the 3 day window however I cannot get anyone to call me back. This company needs to refund my money for these inedible steaks.

Better Beef Brands Response • Dec 05, 2018

I am rejecting this response because:

The receipt was sent to me electronically and because it was so long, I had to screenshot it with 3 different photos. The receipt is for $140 for the steak package. I also purchased the 25 ribeye steaks for $20 but I paid cash for this and was not provided a receipt for that. Since I did not get a receipt for that, I am willing to settle the complaint for the $140 since I do in fact have a receipt for this purchase. We purchased the 20 ribeyes for $25 on October 15th in Tucson Az. We brought them straight home and put them in our freezer. Went to cook them last week and they were discolored, had a strong oder and had what seems to be string attatched to one of them. I've emailed the company MULTIPUL times along with photos and have got no reply back. I did not eat them. I am pregnant and could not handle the smell coming from them.

After reviewing the above mentioned case, we would like to offer a refund of $30 to the customer.

Hi

We purchased $289.00 of steaks from Homestead Steaks at a parking lot tent in West Bend, WI on October 7th, 2018. We took the meat home and placed into our chest freezer. Yesterday we went to prepare a few of the steaks and the meat had a very foul order. We tried to grill but we could not eat the meat. There is something wrong with the meat and we would get sick if we were to eat. The company states that the meat needs to be returned within 3 days of being purchased at the location purchased. The location is still doing business but will not take provide a refund as the purchase dates is now greater than 3 days. We will not eat this meat as there is something wrong with it. We have never smelled meat in this condition. It must have un-thawed or something. All we want is a refund and we can return the meat.

Better Beef Brands Response • Oct 15, 2018

We are very sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. We obtain all proper licensing through the health department and have regular inspections, so I can assure you that there is nothing wrong with your purchase. Our product is flash frozen after it is marinated, which might be what you are referring to. We will be happy to refund you if you can provide to us your receipt or proof of purchase along with your name and address.

We purchased the 20 ribeye's for $25 from the truck at out local mall, we have had the meat in our deep freezer for less then 2 weeks before deciding to de thawing 5 steaks. Once opened the smell of stinky fishy scent filled our noses and the kitchen. We threw away the meat and did not cook it, in fear of getting sick or food poising. I tried contacting the company threw their *** page, with only being blocked and any comments I made removed. No one would speak with me on the issue.

We are very sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. Our refund policy is stated on the flyers given to each customer that enters the tent as well as on our receipts. We are happy to refund in full if the product is returned within 3 days of purchase as long as you have the receipt and all original packaging. The product must be returned to the tent it was purchased from. Each product is flash frozen and has seasoning frozen with it. We comply with all health departments and have regular inspections to get our permits. I can assure you that we would not have passed if our product was going to be harmful in any way. We cannot control how the product is kept once it leaves our possession. We would be happy to give you a partial refund if you can provide us with your name and mailing address.

The meat isn't the quality as expected because it says it's been inspected by the usda. I dethawed it and a portion of water was built up.

Better Beef Brands Response • Sep 10, 2018

Hello! We are very sorry you are unhappy with your purchase. We would be happy to refund you as long as you have all original packaging and your receipt. The product must be returned to the tent within 3 days of purchase. This policy is stated on the flyers handed to each person that enters the tent as well as on our receipts. The "water build up" is from our product being flash frozen. This ensures our product stays fresh. Anything frozen, and then dethawed will have a little water build up. Each customer is shown product before purchasing. Again, we are very sorry you are unhappy.

Was deceived on 20 for $25. Then talked me into seafood package. Bought that and he threw in the ribeyes... 2 in a package, paper thin. breakfast cut in my opinion. Kind of upset with my Salmon. Shrunk down to nothing on grill. Definitely injected. taste was ok, but not what I expected. Lot of Hype and lots of plump injected into this game.

Better Beef Brands Response • Sep 06, 2018

We are terribly sorry you were not happy with your purchase. We would be happy to refund you as long as you can provide a receipt, all original packaging and return it to the tent it was purchased from within 3 days of purchase.

I can't even pick a star rating as these steaks are awful, but in order to leave this review I have to, so my one star is actually zero starts. We purchased a 5 pound package of ribeye steaks in Mankato, MN on August 23, 2018. Did not notice that the steaks were packaged two to a pack and each package was about 1/4" thick....meaning paper thin! As with other complaints, we were not given a receipt. We grilled the steaks and couldn't eat them because they were extremely chewy and grisly and they did not have good flavor. Due to dental work the day we purchased the steaks, we had them for a week before grilling, so didn't bother contacting the company considering the guarantee, which by the way, we were not informed of. We will never make a purchase like this again.

Better Beef Brands Response • Sep 04, 2018

We are very sorry for your experience. We are always happy to do refunds if a customer is not happy, given you provide all original packaging and a receipt or proof of purchase and it is returned within 3 days of purchase. All EBT sales are final, per EBT rules. Our return policy is stated on the flyers handed to each customer as well as the receipt (Each customer is asked at point of sale if they would like a receipt texted or emailed to them). Again, we are sorry you were unhappy!

I purchased 2 Chicken packs and 2 steak packs. A couple weeks after purchase, I cooked a few steaks and a few pieces of chicken. The chicken tasted like fish. The steak was rubbery, tough, discolored and had foul smell. I believe the meat had been thawed and re frozen. It was defective and hazardous. The compaby has a 3 day return policy if the meat is still in the original packaging. I was unable to return $389 worth of meat because I didnt comsume it until 2 weeks later and I had to remove the individually packed meat from the boxes in order to fit it in my freezer. The meat made us all sick and the traveling booth company had no concern.

Better Beef Brands Response • Aug 21, 2018

Hello! We are very sorry you were not happy with your purchase. You are correct, our return policy is within 3 days of purchase and that is for many reasons. Mainly because we cannot control how the meat is kept once it leaves our possession. I assure you the meat was kept on a reefer truck and frozen the entire duration of us having it. we are required to follow state and local health department guidelines to maintain our permitting. We also have inspections from the health department just like anywhere else. I would be happy to provide you a partial refund since it is past the 3 day timeframe if you can provide your name and address.

Customer Response • Aug 29, 2018

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: Honestly, this meat is defective! I would not spend $389 of my hard earned money on boxes of meat for my family to take it home and not properly freeze it or to contaminate in some way risking the health of my family or myself. I have read all the Revdex.com complaints about this company and their product and all the complaints are the same. The complaints are about the quality of the merchandise and also the refund policy. The consumer is expected to eat what was purchased within 3 days from a traveling corporation that moves from spot to spot, and if the consumer does not consume the merchandise within that time frame and then locate that traveling company within 3 days, then they are not entitled to their money back. I still have all the meat purchased in my freezer besides what was eaten the night I discovered the meat was defective because it is unsafe to consume. We all got ill from eating the meat, had stomach issues. The meat was a weird color, texture and had a strange smell. The chicken tasted like fish. All around poor quality product that was falsely advertised. I would like a full refund of $389 please.

Sincerely

Better Beef Brands Response • Aug 30, 2018

We are sorry you are unhappy, we realize we cannot make each person happy. We are generally at each location for 30 days if our permits allow. We are very strict with our return policy for many reasons, most grocers if they allow returns at all require you to return it within 24 hours. The smell you are referring to is likely the seasoning or from the meat being flash frozen. This harms the meat in no way. Each customer is shown the product they are purchasing before purchasing. I would be happy to send you a partial refund if you would like, but I am unable to send you a full refund due to it not being returned within our guidelines. You will need to provide us with your name and address for partial refund.

The meat was very poor quality. It was not frozen properly and looked like it was rotting. My dog wouldn't even eat it and he eats everything. The seasoning that was on the chicken was so overpowering and salty. They requested I return to the tent it was purchased at but the tent is no longer there. I also never received a receipt and they are unable to process a return without one even though the product is still in original packaging.

Better Beef Brands Response • Aug 20, 2018

Hello! We are very sorry you are not happy with your product! We are always happy to refund you if you are not happy. As stated on the customer receipt and on the flyers given to each person that walks into the tent...

We would be happy to refund you at the tent you purchased from as long as it has been within 3 days of purchase and you can provide the original packaging and a receipt. The product will need to be returned to the tent it was purchased from. All EBT sales are FINAL (per EBT rules).

I purchased 2 of the family packs of meat for *** the gentleman running the tent inky area. Seemed like a nice enough guy who stated it was the same meat that was supplied to many reputable suppliers as well as a guarantee for 180 days. I purchased 1 pack for myself and 1 for family and he gave me the meat. When I inquired about a receipt,he informed me that the credit card transaction in my bank statement would be sufficient. Seemed simple enough.

Fast forward 4 days. I had placed 2 of the fillets and 2 of the Ribeyes in the refrigerator to thaw as the directions stated. Prior to thawing, the meat looked as it should red in color. When it had thawed out, the meat had lost its color and was more of a grayish brown. Then when it was cooked, the meat had a rubbery texture and very odd flavor. One bite was all it took to know that it wasn't quality meat.

I went to the Homestead Steaks website to see what the return policy was and there was no posting regarding returns. I then filled out their contact us form amd now over 24 hours later have still not heard back from them there.

I went to their Facebook site and sent them a message there and in response got a generic message about their 3 day return policy as stated on their receipt. I informed them that I was not offered a receipt so I did not know about the 3 days I not the 180 day guarantee that the salesman spoke of. When I informed them of this, they told me that without proof of purchase, they could not verify that I actually bought the meat from them. I let them know that my bank statement has 2 transaction from Homestead Steaks LLC. They read this message but did not reply. I resent the message and the response was that most grocery stores only offer 24 hour returns if any returns at all. When I pointed out that grocery stores do not state that their meat will be good for 180 days, they cannot control how the meat is kept once it leaves their possession

I went to the same tent that I had purchased the meat from to explain the situation and see what needed to be done to return the product. There was someone else working the tent and there was now a new table setup that had flyers that were not present the time I purchased the meat. The new lady working named R informed me that the prior salesman had left and she replaced him. I explained the situation, and let her know what the meat was like and that I didn't have the receipt and showed her the bank statement which she said she would honor if it had been within 3 days. I asked her how I would know about the 3 days as the laminated sheets that were taped to the tables had no mention of it only the 180 day guarantee. She pulled out one of the flyers that were not their previously and showed me that at the bottom it did say 3 days. I informed her that the flyers were not available when I was previously there and since I was told I would not need a receipt, there was no way to know about the 3 day policy as it was also not posted to the website.

She informed me that she would reach out to the home office and get back to me yesterday afternoon. I never heard back.

I have seen someone with a similar situation that had their purchase refunded through their Revdex.com complaint so I am requesting the same service as that individual especially considering the salesman who sold me the meat seemed to be doing everything in his power to keep the 3 day return policy hidden.

Better Beef Brands Response • Jul 10, 2018

yes, you are correct that our return policy is within 3 days of purchase with proof of purchase and all original packaging, and must be returned to the tent it was purchased from. This 3 day time frame is for many reasons, and mainly because like you stated we cannot control how the meat is kept when it leaves our possession. We try to be as fair as possible when it comes to the return policy. Our policy is stated on all flyers and each customer receipt. When you purchase from most major grocery stores, you have 24 hours to return food items, and some don't allow it at all. You must provide proof of purchase to ensure the meat was purchased from us, as there are tons of companies that do the same concept with the same distributor. We would have been more that happy to refund you, had this been taken care of within our guidelines. I will be happy to send you a partial refund of $25.00, but cannot give you a full refund as it has been more that 3 days and does not fall within the guidelines

Tried to return meat that we bought thinking was steak but was faux steak with sugar, water an other additives as it was inedible at least for us and the "manger" acted like if we continued trying to talk about a return he would kick the *** out of me till I left the property. We ate two steaks out of the twnenty. The customer service email said as long as the box was intact there would be no issues. There were more than issues, it was a conversation not to have in the Chapel Hill's establishments tent. Convo lasted 4 minutes from start to finish before I lef thinking we would be boxing. I submitted as I was $28 total. I give to the neighbors dogs as I'm assuming its generally safe.

If there is ever an issue that arrises, the mall security is contacted immediately. We are always happy to do refunds if a customer is not happy, given you provide all original packaging and a receipt or proof of purchase and it is returned within 3 days of purchase.

This meat distributor truck came to El Paso, TX for a couple of days. This distributor apparently travels to different cities, stopping only a couple of days and after traveling to another, making it impossible to return the meat should there be an issue. I purchased a 20 x $25 package and took the meat home to immediately. A couple of days later I decided to cook the meat. Upon opening, the meat is slimey and with a odd texture. I went ahead and cooked it. The meat had a foul smell and taste of bad meat. I thought perhaps it had been 1 bad piece; however, I tried another piece of meat. The second piece was as gross as the first. This company has a 3 day return policy, which is very convenient for this traveling distributor. If you don’t try the meat Immediately after you buy and the product turns out to be bad, then you’ve been robbed because there is no way to return their decayed meat because their 3 day policy is ridiculous.

Better Beef Brands Response • Jun 26, 2018

Hello! We are very sorry you were unhappy with your purchase. Yes, you are correct that our return policy is 3 days in which we are very strict with that policy due to the fact that we are unable to control how the meat is kept once it leaves our possession. We are at each location we go to for a duration or 30-60 days depending on what our permits for the city and the health permits will allow. We would have been more than happy to issue you a full refund had you returned it to the tent within the 3 day period. I would be happy to send you a partial refund if you are able to email us at *** and put in the subject "Revdex.com Complaint". You will need to provide your proof of purchase as well.
