I am very pleased with the service I've received, both from my therapist and from BetterHelp. I was able to choose my therapist and I find that the monthly fee is very reasonable. The flexibility in scheduling and the number of avenues available for therapy are also a bonus. If you're struggling with mental health concerns, stress, or just need someone to talk with, I highly recommend using BetterHelp to find a therapist.

This app is fairly cheap for the services provided, if you're an American you're aware how expensive sessions can cost in person.

My biggest issue with this however is that groupinars are a serious hit or miss.
Sometimes you'll schedule with someone really great at communicating, shows a clear presentation and is inclusive.
Other times the counselors may teach exclusively heteronormative situations/services or offer bias information, like FOX news statistics? Sometimes they'll make you watch TedxTalks and youtube videos, that you can watch online for free...

Occasionally in groupinar chats people will take their anger out on you and the presenter/counselor will not pay attention to it, forcing you to leave the chat because you're so uncomfortable.

If you're gay/***/atheist it can be disheartening at first, establishing a relationship with a counselor because there's so many that do like to push their personal views and opinions on your situations.
Took me 3 switches until I found a good one.

Would I recommend this to anyone? Yes
Would I caution lgbtq+ about the dilemmas I endured through this process? Very much so.

I don't think I would be getting through the pandemic situation without BetterHelp. The platform is really user friendly, but most importantly my therapist really listens to me and offers support, encouraging words, and feedback that really makes a difference for me.

The flexibility of this service has been not only convenient but comforting just to know that it's there. I recomend BetterHelp.

Really great value, quality convenient service!

Was looking for a local therapist in my area... with Covid, things were only avail online.
One place wanted to charge $150 for the set up, and then $120 for each video conference.
With BetterHelp, I was able to have a weekly phone or video session, plus unlimited use of messaging and journaling services for approx $65/wk.

I have been very impressed with the therapist that was matched with me.
She is qualified, very helpful, very attentive... personable and approachable.
This was more than can be said when I had an in person therapist over a year ago.

She has flexible hours and appointments. Having virtual sessions (phone or video)
helps me save time, and avoids that awkward exchange going into / out of a therapists office.

I've been very happy about the feed back from my therapist.
She seems really in tune with the things that I'm saying,
and helping me get to the root of my feelings and issues.

I would HIGHLY recommend this service to anyone!

I highly recommend giving BetterHelp a try. I have done traditional therapy for 2 decades & this has actually been the most beneficial experience yet. It's convenient, supportive, the availability is unmatched & it has helped me more than I can say.

If I could add no stars I would. I've gone through two counselors in a week and a half after paying $160 for the month. The first one stopped responding to me for no reason and the second one cancelled our session hours before we met after a week of working together. I'm literally wasting my money and getting no benefit as I'm not getting what I paid which for a girl that doesn't make a lot of money really sucks.

The counselors are fantastic. I can't recommend them enough.

That's where the good things end.

Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. This is a company that prides itself on providing mental health care, yet they have been worse for my mental health in the last six hours than all the things I was in counseling for.

Their answering service cannot actually assist anyone. When you call their answering service, you get nothing more than a person who will email customer service for you. YOU can also email customer service, by the way. So... you're calling so somebody else can email them. Fantastic.

When you send that email, there is no telling how long it will be before someone responds. There is NOTHING you can do to speed up this process. Their answering service will read you a script that says there's no other way to get through to them.

Don't use BetterHelp.

BUYER BEWARE. This company is also a shelter for a sister company, Faithful Counseling, where they have been hiring fraudulent christian pastors such as Heather and Cornelius Lindsey to push their product. There are no humans working at this company, it is simply robots connecting you to christian counselors who are rather slow to respond. Emails to their support email do not have any response. When you cancel, they will still charge you and will not respond to requests about refunds.

Betterhelp has been easy and safe to easy to work with. My information has been kept confidential, and I have never felt pressured. I am impressed by the company's respect for their clients and their communication.

Like many others, I was charged $180 a month for 3-4. months in a row and I did not use the service once. I did not have one counseling session. There is no customer service department that you can call into. I was told I can only "email" and expect an email back within a day. I was looking into services when I looked into this and I was not aware I was continuing to be charged when I had not had any counseling sessions. My perception is that this is just a business and I am just looking to re-cooperate some of my financial losses as this was already a difficult time.

While looking for a counselor to help me work through a grief issue, I ran across across BetterHelp. I was a little skeptical but decided to give it a try. Shortly after registering, I was matched with an experienced therapist. After reviewing the therapist's credentials and experience/education level, I was given the choice of accepting a session with him or opting for a different match. Based on his credentials and experience level, I decided to go with him. He was very helpful and supportive and pointed me to resources (books, readings, and written homework) to help me process and work through things in a healthy and helpful way. I am happy with the quality of care I received through BetterHelp.

Highly recommend. Customizable service. lots of options. VERY affordable. I like how I can use the app or the website. I like the chat. That's new to me in therapy. I think it makes everything easy and organized.

I've been using it for a little over a month and it's been amazing. The counselor I got the second time (I had to change once for personal reasons, nothing wrong with the 1st counselor) is amazing. He is really open and knows what to say. He comes from a religious background but on day one I told him I wasn't religious and he was understanding and religion has never come up again. I get to pay for therapy through my HSA, but with 1 session a week, it's cheaper than in person sessions. I highly recommend it specially if you are struggling.

Very professional counselors, affordable, and convenient because they work with your schedule and you can do it in the privacy of your own home.

Buyer Beware!!! I signed up for counseling with this company and they double charged me for my services. Given the fact they only have email address for contact I went thru Paypal to get a refund on the extra charge, that was $156 btw. So in total they took $312 from my account at one time. I received a refund of the extra charge, however they permanently cancelled my account because I decided to take action to fix their mistake. What kind of company punishes the consumer for fixing a mistake THEY made?!! It's absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable that during very difficult times this company is conducting themselves in this way. I would not recommend ANYONE to use this company as they obviously do not have their business together and will only increase the stress you're trying to lower by getting counseling. Truly disgraceful!!

I love BetterHelp! I have never been able to connect with a therapist until now. It is extremely easy to have virtual sessions and send each other quick messages to check in. BetterHelp also offers benefits such as Groupinars, a place for you to journal, and even track your goals.

They charge you on DAY 1!!! I paid 260.oo, was matched 3 days later. They gave cookie cutter answers and when I asked for more specification it remained cookie cutter...So less than a week later I have cancelled them and want a refund. Apparently you don't get a refund!!! They force you to do the whole month so they can keep all the had earned money we worked for and they didnt!!!! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! For 260.oo I was signed up a week, matched less then 4 days, we didnt even have ONE session, just a few message exchanges that seemed like they were just copy and pasted out of google. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Dont buy into the HYPE!!!!
