Overcharged for 10 minutes worth of work. Left a fecal matter mess and soaked two rugs(couldn’t even pick them up before working). Said there was just a little water on the floor when they left and that they didn’t have a rag to clean it up. Rip off, unethical company.

[redacted] the technician, explained what he was going to do and then reviewed what he had done when he was finished. My wife was impressed by his thoroughness, his politeness, and his professionalism.

The technician who serviced our furnace was extremely professional, instructive, thorough and helpful. He explained what he was doing at each step of the procedure, and offered various hints and tips about things we could do which might improve our comfort year round. He explained various updates that could be done in terms of hardware for furnace filtering and humidification and offered us a service program which was very reasonable, but he did not push us to purchase anything. We were extremely pleased with the service he provided and we will definitely use this company again.

I have furnace and air conditioning maintainence every year. The technicians are always prompt and courteous. They are thorough and do a good job in explaining "things" and answering questions. I am very satisfied and that is why I remain a Blau customer. [redacted]

Excellent service. Very prompt and efficient. I have been a Blau customer for over 40 years for both repair and installation work and recommend them to anybody looking for home plumbing work.

I had an important recall on a flush mate toilet made by the Sloan Company that was installed January of 2010 in my home and still was under its 10 year warranty. The recall repair kit was free from the company and the plumbing company waived the trip charge BUT NOT THE INSTALLATION FEE!!! I had paid over $1,000 for this toilet to be installed and now I needed to pay for a recall installation. This is so unbelievable!!! I needed to pay $80.00 for a 15 minute recall kit fix.

Sad to say that I believe that this service should be free to the consumer since they installed this toilet. I will not be using this plumbing service company ever again because I feel that this fee should have be waived. If Blau needed to be paid for this service they should have been paid by the company Sloan that made the toilet not the consumer!!!

I recently had a problem, my main drain was clogged, the one in my basement floor. I called Blau and was very happy that I did. I like it when I call someone and they come to the house in the company truck and are dressed in the company uniform. He was prompt when he came , courteous and polite, explained everything to me and gave me the price upfront. The work was done and my drains are free running, I would recommend Blau Plumbing to anyone.

The plumber was on time. He was informative and told us all our options. We were surprised that we could get someone there so quickly on a Saturday. Everyone we dealt with were very pleasant.

Great expierence - very polite and helpful. The rep took the time to explain all of our options in detail and also gave us general info on what to expect in the future. Would call again if needed. Thank you Blau for the great service.

Our experience with Blau Plumbing was outstanding. We experienced an unexpected emergency when our water heater malfunctioned causing water throughout our finished basement. Trying to find a plumber for same day service to install a new water heater is harder than I thought. The plumber[redacted] and his young associate arrived within hours and had the new heater installed within 4 hrs. of my original call. Very friendly. Even helped me with the wet vac of my carpet in the basement. I am in the construction field and very picky on the work done in my house. I didn't have the luxury of doing research on a good plumbing contractor but I was extremely satisfied with the complete service. Would recommend Blau Plumbing highly to anyone needing plumbing work.

My drain had clogged in the bathtub. I called Blau early in the morning, they were here by 12:30 the same day, calling ahead to be sure it was ok for them to arrive. The gentleman was courteous, respectful (even put on booties so as not to dirty the floor) and very determined to insure my drain was flowing properly. Additionally, I have used Blau previously for other drain issues and for filters for my furnace and they went so far as to order the specific filters for me and I had them in a day.

After my furnace quit working, I did not know who to call. I had work done on my furnace in 2012, but I had an uneasy feeling about calling that company again...they did not seem to understand my brand of furnace. I tried Blau just from looking at their website. I am so glad I did! The technician was so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. He walked me through the issues with the furnace, gave me several options on how to proceed, and immediately went to work. He also explained some attributes of my furnace that the installer of the furnace neglected to tell me, maintenance and otherwise. I am glad I have a company with whom I feel comfortable doing business.

Review: On 2/16/15 I had a problem with clean water coming up from my floor drain after washing a load of clothes. Quickly went upstairs and flushed the toilet, and more clean water came up. We have had a problem with roots in our pipes for many years and have had it taken care of multiple times. Our usual plumber was booked and I had appointments the following day so called Blau Plumbing. They quoted me $29 for the service call and then whatever had to be done.A young man came and was probably in my basement 45-50 minutes but definitely UNDER an hour. He said he installed something called "Rooter" in the pipe to prevent this from occurring again---without my permission--and this product cost $235. When finished, he gave me a bill for $523.I was ill this day and didn't think to not pay it till I called the business. I then wrote a letter to the manager of the company after calling to speak to the manager, but the manager would not take my call. If you do the math, the service call was $29.00 the "Rooter " was $235, which left a balance of $200. In the letter to them I asked for a refund of $100 asI know they are not paying that young fellow $200 per hour. We are senior citizens living on a fixed income, and while I needed the problem fixed, I have NEVER paid that kind of money for this problem and we have had to have it done multiple times. A retired plumber friend ofours also thinks this was "highway robbery". I never received a reply to my letter or any reimbursement. I think thisis fraudulent charging . I also never was asked if I wanted the "Rooter"product installed. Can anything be done about this? [redacted]Desired Settlement: I am asking for $100.00 refund which I think is minimal but would also liketo receive a refund for the $235 "Rooter" which I was never consulted about

The accusations and statements in this complaint are not

supported by the facts and are simply untrue. The following chronology is based upon GPS

records, contract documentation, and verifiable phone records:

3:15pm- Blau technician is dispatched to the

call

3:45pm- Blau

technician arrived at the job He inspected the site and after diagnosing

the problem, he wrote two proposals. The first proposal was to clear the clogged sewer for

the sum of $302. The second proposal was to

furnish and install a RootX chemical treatment in the sewer to kill the tree roots, which

includes a one-year warranty, for the

sum of $235. The sum total for the two

proposals was $523.16 including

tax.

4:00pm- Blau

technician presents proposals to customer; customer considers proposals,

agrees to have ALL work performed, SIGNS WORK AUTHORIZATION,

AND WRITE A PERSONAL CHECK FOR THE TOTAL SUM

OF THE WORK.

4:12pm- Blau

technician calls check certification company and gains check approval;

proceeds to perform all work agreed to in the contract.

5:30pm- Blau

technician completes all work as evidenced by customer signature

acknowledging the satisfactory completion of the work.

Customers suggestion work only amounted to “under an hour”…………………UNTRUE

Customers claim “without my permission”……………………………………………….UNTRUE

Customers claim “when finished, he gave me a bill for

$523………………………UNTRUE

Customers claim “never was asked if I wanted the “Rooter”

product………….UNTRUE

Blau knows our prices for this work are competitive within

the market and customer never provides any legitimate written documentation to

refute this fact. Blau has no record of receiving letter customer claims to

have sent.

In conclusion, Blau believes our actions in this matter were

professional, ethical, and fair and sees no reason to provide any discount or

adjustments in this matter. However, in the interest of customer goodwill,

considering customer claims to be a senior citizen, Blau will mail customer a

refund in the amount of $26 with reflects our 5% Senior Discount.

Response:

David came still energized near the end of his longer-than-expcted day and did excellent work maintaining the air conditioner. I enjoyed his letting me show how smart I was: I helped locate the furnace filters and prepared the hose for washing the cooling unit. He suggested maybe a kink was affecting water pressure, and I felt like a plumbing genius (which I know I'm not) when I found and fixed it. The company had extended our service agreement, and I was happy to sign on for another three years.

Good work, prompt and efficient

I have used Blau to take care of all of my plumbing and heating problems for over twenty years. I have found them to do good work in a timely manner.

The tech performed all the checks, doing the extra work of taking off the cover when it didn't open as he expected, and taking out the pilot when it wasn't as accessible as he expected. He reminded me of the appropriate schedule for changing filters to help the furnace run more efficiently. He noticed and asked about our system for recycling the water that drains from the furnace flame. He suggested that the acidic level of that water might make it unsuitable for use in the washing machine. We'd been recycling water that way as a conservation measure, to decrease our usage of city water.
I didn't see him do it, but I expect it was the tech who brought the trash container to the garage from the street, which was a really nice gesture.
When the tech came to check the thermostat, he greeted our bunny . I'm grateful for that acknowledgement of our pet.

Our main drain line between our house and the city sewer was plugged. I called Blau to come and clean it out. A lot of people do this sort of work, but they don't all do it well. What impressed me about Blau is that the technician took the time to put down a drop cloth before he got started. So, everything is flowing again and I didn't have to clean up afterwards. Thanks Blau!

Excellent same day service. The service technician was friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly and had our furnace up and running. Reasonable cost too.
