Upon receiving *** *** complaint immediate action was taken to address her concerns regarding a return check charge and the customer’s request
to credit her account for a return check charge she felt was incorrectly charged to her account by CenterPoint EnergyAn apology was immediately extended for the amount of time it has taken to resolve this issueOur research revealed that on 08/11/15, payment in the amount of $returned from *** *** banking institution as ACCOUNT FROZEN for payment made online on 08/04/
Please be advised that the customer’s bank has indicated that her payment returned because “Account Frozen” and they have provided us with a tracing number of ***In speaking with *** *** we also recommended that the customer contact their bank and provide the tracing number to receive additional information regarding the return payment
Whenever a payment is processed through CenterPoint Energy’s On-line or Phone (IVR) Self-Serve option the system acknowledges that a payment transaction has been made by giving the customer a confirmation numberHowever, our system is not connected with any of the banking institutions therefore our system does not recognize if an account number given is validIt is only confirmed after a payment has been processed through the customer’s bank
The payments presented are electronically processed and therefore when presented to *** *** bank if not recognized with the correct account number, it will be automatically returned and in this case returned from the customer’s financial institution as ACCOUNT FROZEN
Resultantly, never processing through her accountTherefore, validating that the bank data submitted for payment was entered incorrectlyIf a payment is submitted to the bank and returned for any reason, it is considered a return checkOnce CenterPoint Energy deposits all of its payments and if any are returned for any reason, CenterPoint Energy is charged with a processing fee that is passed on to the customer
Whether payments are made via the phone (IVR) or On-line system, the payment process is set up to have the customer acknowledge the self-inputted information throughout the entire processThe phone (IVR) process repeats the checking information back to the customer allowing room for modificationThe On-line process allows the customer to review what was entered and requires that the customer select one of two buttonsThe first button is to accept the information as is and the other button is to modify the informationIt is also states to the customer if the bank account information is not correct as entered, they may be charged a processing fee
It appears the customer unintentionally entered incorrect bank dataGiven the circumstances, we have agreed as a onetime courtesy to waive the $return check fee as a result of the unintentional human error
We sincerely regret any inconvenience that this matter may have caused *** *** and we thank her for allowing us the opportunity to address her concernsWe value *** *** as our customer and we look forward to serving her better in the future

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action has yet to resolve my complaint I have left three voicemails at the suggested complaint department phone number and have also filed an official complaint with CenterPoint Their VM claims someone will call you back within two hours I have yet to talk with a representative.I will leave yet another message but the claim is not resolved.On a side bar, found out they came out yesterday and conducted the same service that started this entire mess and disconnected service from the house again unannounced Power is back up and running today.On a positive note, in the Revdex.com response they at least apologized, but have not address my expenses I have requested to be recovered

Mr*** was successful in making contact with Mr*** and advised the customer we will work to have his yard restored as promptly as possibleIn addition, the customer was informed that the investigation regarding the damage to the grill line is currently underwayMr*** committed to following up with Mr*** and provide the final outcome once the investigation is completedPlease be advised that this office is not at liberty and does not have the jurisdiction to overturn and/or grant any claim made against CenterPoint Energy

Or can the company ask me more payment for an error correction for now? * ** pleased to report that repairs were escalated and the leaking gas line has been replaced across my yard The landscaper promptly called and is to be onsite tomorrow My only remaining concern is a report I got from *** stating that oxygen depletion had killed far more grass than just the spot where Centerpoint dug Hopefully the landscper will review the report and till up the dead grass place new topsoil and resod to the proper level se it settles even with the rest of the yard I'm being optimistic but all the damage isn't repaired/replaced I'll still be quite upset but so far MrC*** and the Landscaper seem to be very cooperative and were especially helpful in getting the leak finally repaired (I hope) I'm sorry but I need to keep this case open until my lawn has been repaired to condition before the leak at which time I will gratefully close out the complaint with my compliments for superior service I hope it works out that way.*** ***[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

A representative from our Claims Department contacted Mr*** to apologize and explain that the claim has been closed since 10/5/It was also explained that the collection letter

Centerpoint Energy's Contractor has again opened up the hole in the yard with mud and dirt everywhere and surrounded it with a "red" colored notice. It was my understanding that they were finished with this installation. When is the contractor going to be finishied? WHen is the contractor going to return my property to the condition it was in before all of this mess was caused by thejm ?Ed ***

Mr*** is being encouraged to utilize the self-service payment extension option via On-line or the self-service automatize phone system as well as enrolling in the Automatic Bank Draft program
