Review: I had placed an order for 2 costumes on October 8th and was guaranteed to have them by October 16th. When I had ordered the costumes they were both in stock and ready to ship. On the 15th I had called because I was concerned that the order had said it was still processing. Their response was that it was finishing up being packed in the warehouse and would be shipping on Friday the 16th. I had never gotten an email saying my order shipped or a tracking number by Monday. I had contacted the company again about why I haven't received my costumes or email confirmation yet and they said they were still packing it would express ship my order anf would have it out of the warehouse by Thursday the 22nd so I would have it delivered to my house by the 23rd. I never got an email confirmation on Thursday so I contacted again and then got an email cancelling my order. The company had cancelled it with out notifying me and said they didn't have the costumes to fulfill my order. Well if you didn't have the costumes to fulfill my order why were the telling me they were packing it and it would be shipped. So now I am out of costumes and almost $90. Now I have to wait for my money, I am concerned I won't get my money and then I won't have any costumes for my kids. I am very dissatisfied and my kids are so disappointed that they won't get the costumes they had their hearts set on.Desired Settlement: I want all my money back ASAP!!! I don't want to be waiting around anymore.

I will never buy from here again. I have in the past and I have gotten items as ordered and on time but this time I was really upset. I called waited on hold 30 minutes after sending an email that was never responded to. This was after trying to use their live chat several times to be told no one was available for that. My order was supposed to be here yesterday. When I called a lady said she'd refund the shipping and then she will have it sent so it makes it to me by Friday. I noticed today that the order still hadn't shipped. I finally got a hold of someone via live chat. He told me that the reason my order hadn't shipped is one product was out of stock. Ok well if they had sent and email or called I would have asked for a refund on my one item, but told them to send me the ones still in STOCK. He said oh I will refund you and if you just place ANOTHER order I'll refund shipping and give you 20% off. Why only 20% I had more coupon codes on my last order than that! And he wanted me to place another order seriously before my refund for the other order goes through I think not! I wish I had read the reviews on here it would have saved me a lot of heartache and trouble. Never again will I use this place for anything. Bad service, bad everything!

Liars do not deliver product and on time for special occasion

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE..... I ordered my product on Oct. 6 for a guarantee delivery by October 16th for a party to be held on Oct. 24th. The shipment had not processed on the 16th. I called and was supposedly given a 5.00 credit with a guarantee delivery for the 22nd. That did NOT happen. I called again and spoke with a supervisor who did not have a clue as to why my order had not shipped and advised me to cancel my order since my party was in 2 days. My twins have been looking forward to this particular style and now I am unable to deliver to them. I am SO upset because my card has been charged and there is not enough time to get it credited back so I can rush into a store to purchase something similar. UGHHHHH!!!! I am so upset right now....I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO USE THEM AGAIN. I will use Oriental Trading before I take a chance on them....BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!

Review: I placed an order with the company on October 19th and paid extra for express shipping. I was to receive my order on October 22nd which was a Thursday. However, I did not receive it that day nor Friday. I called in on Saturday and they told me it would be delivered on Monday. It is not Tuesday and I still have not received my package. Its a huge inconvenience since our party will be tomorrow. Now I have to spend extra money to go get items I already ordered. I spoke to a billion reps and they all told me it would be delivered the next day then the next day. I have all emails as well as instant messages guaranteeing on time delivery. I'm extremely upset and my son it extremely bummed.Desired Settlement: I want a refund on my shipping as well as a credit/refund for the items that I have to now buy from a store due to them not delivering my package on time.

The items are paid via debit card and was debited from my account on 10/13/2015 in the amount 0f $68.95 this is inclusive of a $4.99 shipping fee. In the confirmation email sent to me right after placing my order, the shipping method stated: Economy Lower 48 (Guaranteed by Oct 16). Everyday, I checked for my order status due to lack of tracking number, for me to know when exactly the costumes are going to be delivered. On October 15, I decided to call the company customer service number and the agent from Buycostumes told me that the items are ready to be shipped, daily, I again used the order number to try and see if I can get a tracking number to see if the items I orderred was already shipped. On October 21 or 22, I called again and spoke to another agent who found out that the reason why the items has not been shipped was due to one of the items I orderred was not available, In the email that they sent me regarding the confirmation of my orders, all the items stated "In Stock". Buycostumes.com failed to notify me nor tried to contact me to notify me in advance about one of the items not being available, if I didn't ask for more details what's taking them so long no body tried to check it, the agent whom I spoke with even asked me when I wanted the item to be delivered. In my point of view, they should have not asked me when I wanted the items to be delivered since I already paid for the shipping fee stating that the items are guaranteed to be delivered by Oct 16. On October 23 I read an email dated Oct 22nd that the missing item will be credited back to my account. I called on Oct 23 and decided to cancel my order, the agent stated that they can no longer cancel it because the order has already been processed. I asked to be transferred to a Supervisor from whom I got the same answer and advised me to wait for the item and call them back again and they will send me a return label. I understand that they are following a protocol about their refund process, but I strongly believe that this situation is an exemption to their rule due to the reason for my dispute is not my mistake but from their incompetence. I paid for a shipping fee that guaranteed a delivery date which was not fulfilled on their end and hasselled me for calling them several times waiting to speak with someone for more that 30 minutes everytime, the confirmation email I got from them clearly stated that all the items are in stock and no body from their office contacted me regarding the problem despite all the contact information I provided at the time of purchasing the items. In this light, I demand a full refund of all the items I paid for.Desired Settlement: Full refund for not meeting the delivey date, Items orderred on October 8, 2015 and has not been received up to this date of complaint despite confirmation email stating that it's guaranteed to be delivered on Oct 16.

Review: I purchased a product from them with STANDARD shipping. Without getting my approval, they upgraded me to 2 day shipping that cost a lot more. I asked them to cancel the item BEFORE they shipped it. [redacted].com also asked them to cancel the delivery and this company refused. They gave me an address to mail it back to and said that I had to pay for return shipping even though it was THEIR mistake. I asked for an RMA number to return it, and they will not respond to emails.I called the companies phone number and they said "eventually" they will give me full credit. I want my full credit honored PLUS the $9 shipping to mail it back. This company illegally charged my credit card extra money without authorization. (there is more information, but this is the summary).Desired Settlement: $43.37 is owed to my credit card immediately.

We do not have the capability of changing the ship method, or charging a customer on an order that originates with [redacted]. That is all completed through their [redacted] account and [redacted] forwards us the completed order for shipping. When the customer emailed about wanting to cancel the order, [redacted] has to forward that information to us, and by that time this order had already shipped. The customer has been credited in full for the order through their [redacted] account.

I placed an order on 10/18, for guaranteed delivery on 10/23. Received email on 10/23 with tracking info to UPS. My order would be delivered on 10/26. Waited on hold at least 25 minutes, via multiple calls. When choosing the option to have someone call me back to save my place in line, was disconnected. Attempted live chat, to be on cyber-hold 10 minutes. "Ray" told me exactly what my email stated. Then suggested I contact UPS. Being the costume left their warehouse on 10/22, it wasn't a UPS issue. They offered to refund my shipping. Luckily I paid thru PayPal, and screenshot the entire conversation, so I can open a PayPal dispute, if not refunded. Order elsewhere, even if the costume is more $, it's not worth it. Hopefully ppl will start reading reviews before ordering. Revdex.com, Please consider looking into this company. I checked MULTIPLE online review sites, and they are very similar to mine, with the exception of Bizrate, which makes me question the validity of the reviewers.

Review: I placed an order for my children's Halloween costumes on October 11, 2015 with guaranteed delivery by October 19th. When I placed my order the website asked if I wanted to add on any products and gave some suggestions. I added 2 skeleton loot bags ( separate payment transaction) I then called the following day to ensure the order was processed correctly and was reassured the items were added to my order and I would receive my order by October 19th. On October 20th I still did not have my order, I checked online it still says processing so I called and the message said that there was a larger than anticipated response and that all orders placed before October 16 th would be shipped on October 22nd and expedited to be received October 23 rd. I did not wait on hold. Then on October 23rd I called waited on hold for 40 min to be told the items were not shipped however my shipping fee would be refunded as per their policy and the items will be expedited to ensure I receive them by October 28th. I checked the status on October 25th online nothing had changed, an option to chat online was given so I did and the customer service rep said my shipping would be refunded and my order expedited at their cost to be received by October 28th. I called again on October 26th, I was told my order was shipped already however he could not give me a tracking number as ups hasn't scanned it in their system yet. He also told me my order was in NY. I had a feeling this was incorrect as I shop online frequently and know when the label is created so is a tracking number. I checked again October 27th, I was told it was shipped so the status and tracking number must be online by now. It wasn't and my order still said processing. I called again to be told that some of my items were in stock and some not. I asked to speak to a supervisor, then I was told all of my items are out of stock and there is nothing they can do but issue a refund. Now it is a few days before Halloween and I do not have costumes for a 6 and 9 yr old(the costumes are also sold out almost everywhere) . 2 hours after this phone call, I received an email from costume express stating a Change to my order was made, do not ship. It says nothing about a refund. I am not sure what to do next, there needs to be a consequence to a company that makes false promises, lies and never follows through. I should have been notified by them if there was an issues, how many people purchased things that were in my order after October 11th and received them. Why didn't they ship partial if there was a mistake , contact me if there was a mistake. Instead I have wasted my time and stressed over their poor practice. I have spent over 2 hours total on the phone with them between hold and talking to someone who lies and makes false promises. And I am still left without costumes for my children. I will now have to rush and find them a costume that is at least close to what they asked for.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund.

Review: I purchased products online for my son's birthday. It was garaunteed to arrive on 10/14/2015 but it never did. I contacted them several times and told it would be delivered the next day and it has been shipped. Finally on the evening of 10/15/15 after several phone calls they told me they never shipped the products. They told me they give me full refunds but they never did. This business does not appear legitimate. They are selling their products online under Birthdayexpress.com. You call the phone number, the call center never answers the phone.Desired Settlement: Full refund.

Review: I placed my order on 10/19 and was guaranteed to be received by 10/27, my daughters Birthday costume party and I still have no tracking number. I have called many times and got no help what so ever. I requested a supervisor and was denied. I have contacted them 5+ times to get this matter resolved and nothing. I was told they were backed up and may not even get them by Halloween. I spend 66.06 which was all the money I had for our costumes and now my kids may miss trick-or-treating because of this as well as my daughters birthday ruined. I can't get help from anyone. However, I feel like I should have been notified they were out of two of the products prior to shipping and I also had to wait on hold at work for and hour and a half to speak with a representative. I also feel as if I should have received some sort of discount on the other products also because of all the hassel and aggravation, but they did not deem that necessary. I will never order from this company again, and I would advise no one else to either if you want the products you ordered and in a timely fashion, or if you want any type of updates or customer service.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!??This company lost my package. Has refused to refund my money. They claim the money has already been refunded or it will be done the next day. They said it was against company policy to let me speak with the billing department. Has rude customer service representatives. Will NOT return my emails. Continues to have excuses claiming phone issues or computer issues. I will be filing a formal complaint with the Revdex.com as well as with my credit card company. Had to give it at least one star to post review, but in my opinion doesn't even deserve that.

Terrible experience!!! Which matches the others posted here.....got charged for the entire amount of two Halloween Costumes that were ordered. Received email that they were guaranteed to arrive on 10/19. Ten days later received an email that one of the costumes was out of stock. I should have know then that there was a problem. Tried multiple times to email and call them after the 2nd costume didn't show up on the 19th. No response. Finally today I waited on hold for 62 minutes in order to get through! The customer service rep on the other end was clearly flustered and unable to give me answers on the status of the order. She said they were "in over their heads" and having trouble fulfilling orders. She suggested that I cancel the order. Never again.....

My husband and I ordered costumes from Costume Express online. We paid an expensive Premium shipping fee to have the items delivered to us on 10/23/15..it was Guaranteed delivery!! Well, we did not receive our items until 10/26/15. I have sent 2 emails to the customer service, which states someone would reply within 24 hours. We still have not heard anything. We also called, letting them know we wanted the shipping cost refunded because we did not receive the items when we were suppose to and we paid for Express shipping. I was told that we would receive a refund for the shipping costs, but I have checked the credit card that was used and still no refund. I also asked for a confirmation email, stating that a refund would be processed and the gentleman I spoke to said that he could not issue a confirmation #, which I found very odd! It seems to be that this company may be charging people express shipping and then turning around and sending it regular shipping. The customer service is horrible. I just wonder how many times this has happened, but no one has reported them.

This is THE WORST business I have ever dealt with. I was told twice that I would be getting a costume I ordered over a month ago and today...four days before I need it, I got told that it was out of stock!! No one there is taking any kind of responsibility for this and I am out of luck. The absolute worse!!

I put in an order for a Halloween costume for my daughter on 9/25/15, at the time the item was in stock, shortly after it was showing it was not. The email I received said it would get to my by 10/2, the site said 10/13 so I gave the company the benefit and waited until the 13th, still not costume. I called today on 10/14/15 and was told they didn't have nor did they ever have it, that the manufacture didn't sent them any... When I asked if they were going to tell me so I could get the little 8 year old girl the one costumed she wanted, I was told "mam its not our fault the manufacture didn't send them". I do understand that things happen but the company could have at least TOLD me so I could start looking for another one. Now they are sold out everywhere and she may not get one.

I purchased merchandised for my sons first birthday from birthdayexpress.com as well as one other website a week before his party, which was November 23rd. Because of a late UPS train I did not receive any of the party supplies from either site until the day after the party. I called both companies and birthday express assured me that I could return whatever I wanted and that I would be refunded what I had originally payed for shipping, and that I would not have to pay to ship anything back to them. The other company actually let me keep everything because a couple things were personalized and couldn't be reused and they said they felt bad that we hadn't recieved it in time (the full return credit from them was back on my card the next day). I returned everything but a birthday scroll (which I paid $1.61 for) to birthday express, and almost five days later I got a credit back on my card that was almost $20 LESS than what they owed me. I called and waited on hold forever and was assured the "return department" -which I put in quotations because apparently customers aren't allowed to speak to anyone who actually works in this department-would credit my card the owed amount in another 3-5 business days. A few days later I got another credit, this time for $11.99. The story keeps repeating itself over and over and it's been over a month since they recieved my return and I'm still waiting for the rest of my money back. NEVER AGAIN WILL I ORDER FROM BIRTHDAY EXPRESS!

Review: I ordered from this company on 9/13/15. I was charged for merchandise on 9/28/15. I have not been shipped anything. I keep receiving emails saying my item has been delayed. I called to cancel and asked for a refund, they said I was not charged. My bank statement shows a charge so I called back and they said they could not do the refund until the items was canceled. I explained that I was canceling it now and they said they would try their best to do a refund but could not give me any confirmation of the above. Once we process the credit the funds are returned to bank/credit card company, and we cannot control how long they hold the funds. The financial institution will normally release the funds with 24-48 hours, but we no longer have this customer's funds.

They finally sent in a credit on 10/27. I am satisfied that the return was made. I will however never do business with this company again and after more research I have seen many other customers with the same and multiple other issues with this company. Buyer beware.

Though I received an email on Oct 13th that items were in stock and shipped, after re-submitting the same credit card two more times, I still didn't receive. Phoned and chatted online, only to receive very misleading promises back. I received additional emails, but never the order. I believe this is definitely a fraudulent organization. I have spent countless hours on this to no avail. I expect a full refund. I was so uncomfortable with this purchase, I just canceled my credit card, feeling strongly they would mis-use that information. However, they did receive my $51, and I expect it back immediately. We did reach out to the customer to obtain a new/different credit card and the 1st attempt failed as well. We had to get an alternate card to obtain payment before shipping. At this point the customer was skeptical and decided to cancel. We have credited in full $51.73 and emailed a receipt of the credit transaction to the customer.

We again apologize for the inconvenience. There is a lot of confusion in regard to Presell orders. There is not a guarantee date on these order, it is approximations. This information is available on our website and on the order conformation sent to the customer. Under the status of the presell item is a link that says "What's this" and in there is all the information about presell. It does state that delivery on presell orders are not guaranteed. It also has information about if a payment fails and what may cause this. On this order the payment did fail so we contacted the customer. When we entered the card # the 2nd time for the customer it again failed and if it was human error on out part we apologize. Once the card did accept the customer was only charged 1 time for the order so the previous times the card was entered it did fail. We have credited the customer in full when the order was ultimately cancelled at her request. The credit transaction code is [redacted].
