Awful carpet, install & customer service!
Carpet is only 1 1/2 years old and looks like it's 25 years old! The carpeting is buckling all over. Outside of my son's bedroom the area buckled so much that my son who had knee surgery tripped over it required more physical therapy. After several phone calls and emailed pictures letting them know all this nothing has been done! Disgrace!

We just had carpet laid by Empire Today in the Indianapolis area for the 50/50/50. Our whole experience was very positive. We did our homework as to what type of carpet, price we expected to pay. We are very happy with the whole process.

If your not in a hurry, and you are okay with being over charged and you aren't looking to receive any updates or information about possible changes in your order then "Empire Today" is the company for you. They excel in lack of concern for customer approval and communication.

Empire today is the worst company to do business with , save your time and money and run as fast as you can they [redacted]

I had my sales appointment on Saturday and floors were complete by the following Thursday. Installers were polite, knowledgeable and were able to meet and exceed my expectations. It took two installers because I sent the first group away. I am glad I was insistent because the job turned out far better than the first crew could have done. The price was not the lowest, but if you want fast service done right-it will cost more. Highly satisfied!

Excellent from initial appointment setting, sales consultation, and installation.
I have hired many service providers over the years. This team gave me confidence every step of the way.
Super meticulous and caring installation team.
I do understand that some installations by less experienced crews cause problems. The crew assigned to my job, was the crew that is often called to fix those problems. Lucky me! These guys new what they were doing, were clean, efficient, courteous and skilled.
569 sq feet of new wood flooring looks way better than the old tile. Let's see if it holds up.

The worst complete experience that I have ever had with any company in my life. First they send a salesman who leaves then when I leave the house, he returns and pressures my wife into buying. Then they send a crew of people who do not speak English to install the floor and when I told them that they were not putting enough staples in the floor, they brushed me off. I called to complain and was told that these were professional and that if there was a problem it would be fixed. Now the floor is lifting and I have had 3 no call, no shows for someone to look at the problem. I will do everything in my power to get the word out the Empire is not to be dealt with.

I called Empire Today for the purpose of getting carpet installed on my stairs and upstairs hallway in early November; a total of approximately 200sqft. The independent contractor gave me an estimate of $780 for the work and we scheduled for the installers to come on 11/25/15. I coordinated with my boss to be at home that day so I could be there for the installation. I was told that I would receive a phone call in the morning to let me know what time to expect the installation.
On 11/25/15, the morning came and went and I received no call. Around 1:00-1:30PM I called Empire Today to find out what was going on. I was told by customer service that they had 'overbooked' and had to reschedule for Monday. I requested a cancellation and spoke with the proper department who offered me $50 off and guaranteed me that the installers would be able to come on a day of my choosing, which ended up being December 5, 2015. The representative apologized and told me to expect the installers *in the morning* on December 5th.
Needless to say, it is December 5th as I write this. I heard nothing AGAIN all morning and called twice to find out when the installers were set to arrive. They were unavailable to contact and when I finally went back to the cancellation department, I was told to just wait until 4PM for the installers and they could offer me another $80 off; putting my total at $650. I explained that I was essentially stood up twice in a row and at this point, paying more than $600 for the installation was unacceptable. Instead of dropping the price the additional $50, we proceeded with cancelling my installation.
I can only assume that my order, being less than $1,000, was simply not worth their time. I have wasted a month waiting for this company to show up to install the carpet - had I cancelled two weeks ago, I could have had a more reliable company come and get the work done in the meantime; something I was hoping to get done as soon as possible as I have a child due to arrive in a month.
A co-worker of mine had a similar experience with Empire Today, but he was spending more money than I (giving him nearly 45% off his install), so again, the company appears to have worked with him to ensure he walked away a happy customer. I am disappointed with my experience, I will not recommend them to anyone in the future, and I feel they did not do everything they could do to give good customer service.

On August 17, 2016 My husband and I made a terrible decision.
We were looking to get hardwood floor in our family room, I researched
Flooring companies, I found a ad for Empire Today advertising 50% off product and
Installation . So we made a appointment , for a sales Representative to come to our home. A man arrived spoke with us about company and the product .
We chose the hardwood we wanted ,he measured the room and the wrote a quote.
When he covered that quote ,he said you know we have this product at 50 % .
The quote was for 6000.00 but we would pay 2974.00 . We agreed and schedule
Installation . This man claimed he was ill just left the doctor ,we prayed with him.
Then in the next several days we did research found 3 other flooring companies , those quotes came in at 2900.00 with no discounts . So I called the customer service
line at empire and spoke to a supervisor Joel who informed me that our product was
not part of the 50 % . I informed him that their representative wrote a quote that showed it at that discount. He informed me that not what his records show . I the ask to speak to his supervisor . He told me there was not one ,and he would connect me with the local manager and put me on hold for over 5 minutes but never returned to
the phone. So I called back spoke to another person who wrote up my concerns and told me she would call that manager , she returned to the phone .
At that time she informed me that he would call me back . I waited several hours but
No call, and of course after a lot of research ,all contact information for Empire today
Head quarters is not to be found. This Company has no stores or office all buyers,
Beware . One lie after another . We cancelled the installation ,waiting for a refund.

Last February I set an appointment with Empire Carpets for an in-home estimate. The representative arrived right on time but due to a family emergency, I had to cancel. The sales person, Chad, gave me his business card and told me to call him directly, in order to re-schedule the appointment. After a few attempts at contacting him, he finally returned my call and we scheduled another appointment. HE NEVER SHOWED. I contacted Customer Service and filed a formal complaint. The Customer Service agent read it back to me and assured me someone would be getting back to me. NO ONE DID. Finally, 2 weeks ago, Dave [redacted] contacted me and after apologizing profusely, he scheduled another appointment, assuring me he would come, personally, and take care of my flooring needs. That appointment was supposed to be TODAY, but he DID NOT SHOW! I called and ended up having to leave a message for Ken [redacted], General Manager. WHO KNOWS IF HE'LL EVER RETURN MY CALL?
WHAT KIND OF BUSINESS ARE YOU RUNNING? Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. I'll take my business elsewhere.

I contracted with Empire Today to install carpeting and laminate flooring in my home over a year ago and the job still isn't done!!! I have no problems with the carpeting. The laminate flooring has been the issue. Empire Today installed laminate in my kitchen, laundry room, powder room and hall bath. They have had to replace the flooring three times because of "screw ups' caused by the installers. One was for installing the laminate on top of ceramic tile, the other was because the installer wipe down the floor with some type of sealant. Another time was because they used two different types of padding on the flooring that connects so that when you stepped onto one floor then onto the other floor you could tell the difference. I have lost track of the amount of times the installers have said they were coming and didn't show up (no phone call to let us know), sometimes they show up with the wrong product and another time they showed up with no product. Why would they show up without product? I have been given nothing but the run around from their customer service department. Since the person working in the call center can't really do anything about my problem they say they will have a manager call me, which sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. My husband has had to take several days off from work to wait on the installers to show up. I only want to warn others about this company and their lack of customer service and caring.

Empire Today was prompt in scheduling a visit with a sales associate, and quick to schedule an install time for our carpet. The installers did a great job. They arrived when they said, and didn't waste any time.

I suggest nobody use Empire absolutely terrible service. The installers and sales had us keep the wood in my freezing garage for 4 days this winter. After calling to have at least 4 managers tell me it's ok finally 1 manager advised no the floors can't be left outside. I was then told the installers would bring new product, which they did however I marked the boxes sitting in my garage. Needless to say the installers started putting the freezing wood in half way through thinking I wouldn't notice. I called the sales guy and I've yet to hear back from him. A company that can put a product in a house knowing it would be a matter of only a couple weeks before the product failed is absolutely sick. Empire should not be in business, it's just not right what they do to people. If needed I also have all in writing from the sales guy and installers

Excellent sales, excellent installation, will use them again for sure.

I recently had laminate floors installed and I am very pleased with the material and installation of the product.

Had new laminate flooring installed throughout common areas in the home. The project was completed beyond my expectations with my product of choice. BEAUTIFUL!! I have used Empire before, and will continue to be a customer in the future.

Excellent service from sales to install. Highly recommend Empire for flooring and carpet.

On Monday (13 Oct) sales agent shows up for scheduled appointment and complete measuring and estimate. I inform him that I need to look at finances to make sure I can pay in cash should I accept the quote. I provided $50 good faith deposit to hold quote and offered discounts with tentative installation beginning after 1 Nov 14. I was also told I could cancel anytime up to the time the installers showed up at my door. Late Monday evening a section of ceiling fell from my home office due to long-term undetected water leak. My insurance deductible to fix this and other damage is going to take a big chunk of the cash that was to be used on new flooring. I called the sales rep and explained that the flooring needs were on indefinite hold and that I was cancelling. I was told by him that he would tear up the deposit check. Today, 17 Oct, my bank informs me the check has been cashed. Called Empire Today to find out why the check was cashed when I was told it would be “torn up.” I was told that sales agents deposit all checks immediately and should not have been told differently and was then forwarded to the refunds/cancellation department where I was grilled on why I had the estimate done in the first place; told we can just delay you installation, and again asked why I bothered spending the time to request an estimate. I stopped the representative at that point and explained that I no longer wanted their service, that I had been assured cancellation was no problem and I wanted my deposit back. I was placed on hold for about two minutes. When the agent came back on instead of telling me the request had been cancelled, I was offered an $800 credit to go ahead and get my flooring installed. Me response, was, “look, I just want to cancel and get my money back.” I also told the representative I was sure he did not want this call showing up on You Tube because of the stalling tactic Empire Today was using against me. I was placed on hold for another two to three minutes. The agent finally came back on line and gave me my confirmation number for the cancellation and told me my refund would come in 15 days. The clock has started. I will still need flooring in the near future but will take my business elsewhere now.

My wife ahd I were so looking foward to replace are carpet and linolum after all most 30 years of use. We talked to a sales person from Empire and picked out carpeting. He told us that the installer,s would remove, dispose and take care of any stains. When it came to the linolum the sales person said that the installer would again remove and dispose of linolum. When the installers came over they did not understand why the carpet was not removed and when we told him what the sales person had told me he replied that they had no instuctions to do so an they do not remove carpet let alone dispose of it and no way do they treat stains. They did how ever remove the carpet to help me out but they were not going to dispose of it.They did try and get a hold of the sales person but they could not. They installled the carpet. When it came to the linolum I had told the installer what the sales person said and again the installer said that they cannot pull up the old flooring. They had to put down a underlaymaent that they did not have and I had to give them a ride to the lumber yard to pick some up. The transsion between the carpet and the linolum was like a !/2 inc told the installer that it looked bad and the installer agreed. When my wife came home she noticed that the linolum was not the one we picked but it looked ok so we let it go.The next day or so they came back to finesh the job and there was a Empire person with him. He apologized and looked at my concerns. They put a defferent edge for the carpet and the edge did not look as bad. Costumer service called me and they took 300.00 of my bill for my troubles. I thought I was done with my problems. About 23 months later I had my carpet cleaned by Zerorez. After they were done the carpet did not fluff up like the less traffic areas. I had Empire come out witch I had to pay 75.00 for them to evaluate the carpet. The person for Empire took carpet sampels and checked my vacume cleaner for adjustment. He said they would have to send it the samples and would call me with the results. Weeks went by I had called them and they said that because I did not have it cleaned with in 18 months that it would not be covered. I asked if he summited the samples and he said no because I was over on time. I asked if he would and he said he would.Sometime later I called a Mike from customer service he said there was nothing the Phoniex the manufacture would do but he would check to see if Empire good help me. Again weeks went by and I did not hear from him so I called customer service and I taled to a lady that told me that if the manufacture did not warranty it that Empire would not do anything. I asked her why would that Mike say that he would see if Empire could help ,did he just lye to me and she said no. So if she says Empire can't help me but Mikle says he will check some one is not telling the truth. Now I am stuck with carpet that looks like what I got rid of. From the the start they did not tell me the truth so I am not suprised for what there doing now
