Review: Capital one is fraudulent. And first let me also thank Revdex.com for their customer service and help to our community of people such as I striving to work hard to make a living honestly and in today's world customer service and fraudulence is at an alarming rate. I am overwhelmed with disbelief. I was made aware of fraud charges on my account and rectified this SO I THOUGHT by calling and getting another card but the charges were never taken off my account. And every time I called I spoke to someone in Philipines which were kind but I could NEVER understand them nor could they understand me and they left me on hold forever never solving this issue. Then tried online to my dismay I was told to call the 800 number .. I also told them I was being charged $30 a month in interest charges....THIS IS LUDICROUS...no one has helped me out. I have been passed on to cust service person one after another. It is now 12:45pm and I have been at this since 11:15am this morning. What is happening in our country?? God help us all. I need to report them for OVERCHARGES WITH INTEREST AND FRAUD CHARGES NEVER TAKEN OFF MY CARD. Thank you so much for your patience with my report. Respectfully, nancy s. palmerMy complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: The interest charges need to be credited to my account along with the fraud charges someone spent on my card.

Thank you so much again.

Review: In 2008 I made the mistake of overcharging a credit card. Once I straightened my self out and returned from basic training I made attempts to reconcile my debts. Capital One has made my credit, and my effort to fix the problem, useless. I started getting my credit reports regularly in 2011 and made several calls to the Capital One customer service representatives who informed me they could not do anything for me because they pushed my debt to a debt collector, which nobody can provide me the name of. I filed a dispute in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and here shortly, 2014's dispute to have the information removed from my report. The account was charged off in 2008 and the amount is something like 2,000, but my credit limit was significantly lower than that and I did not make purchases to that amount. Since the account was charged off, Ive also learned that in 2006 an account in my name was opened with a 0$ balance but is shown as revolving credit. I was 16 in 2006 and didnt open any account at all. I tried to negotiate a settlement with Capital One to remove that account from my report and report my charge off as paid if we reached a fair price being that the NYS statue of limitations where I was issued the card says they could no longer attempt to collect. So in good faith, I tried to reconcile but they have "no record" of my account and could not assist me with anything. Ive been serving the country for 4 years, I know the meaning of integrity and I know how to take responsibility for my actions. I have made numerous attempts to communicate with Capital One so I can move past the black mark on my credit that is now interfering with my financial mobility for not only me but my family. I cant seem to understand why al of my disputes have been responded to the 3 major reporting bureaus but nobody at capital one can seem to justify my "open" account or my charge off. It has been going on 7 years now and I have just exhausted all options to fix my mistake.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I just want my open account to stop being reported and explain to me when and where that account was opened in 2006. I was 16 I couldnt open an account by myself and I was never aware of this account. I believe my mother opened something in my name and has failed to let anybody else know. Additionally, I want/need Capital One to either settle with me on an amount or stop reporting my charged off account. None of what they tell me makes any sense. If they can justify my account details to equifax, they should be able to do it to me. For 4 years now I have been fighting this battle with them and Ive had it. I just want it off my credit or changed to Paid, and Im willing to settle with them.

Review: I have has my credit card account with capital one for 7 years. After 6 months of on time payments capital one issues a credit limit increase. I have never received this increase. It has been seven years. Each time that I contact Capital One about this I am told that it is because of my fraud wet placed on my credit. However I have contacted all three credit bureaus and this is not true. My other credit lines have no problem. I have talked to multiple account manager supervisors who each have told me something different. I was told that the problem would be resolved 3 months ago. It still has not. Each time I call I am

Transferred from supervisor to supervisor with nothing every really getting.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: My credit line to be increased to reflect my 7 years of service

Regards,

Review: I was reported to the credit bureaus for a payment that they are claiming was made over 30 days late. I have a receipt and recorded calls from representatives of this company stating that my account has NEVER been over 30 days late. I have attempted to resolve this issue, but was told to fax my dispute to a toll-free number, and someone would call me. Well I never received a call, but a standard form letter stating they would not correct the error. They have provided no return number.Desired Settlement: I want my account updated, and the negative reporting removed from my credit report IMMEDIATELY.

Review: I have three different credit cards with capital one and have a great experience thus far. One of the three cards (which is the subject of my complaint) was transferred to capital one from another entity. I had not used the card in a couple of years and had a zero balance on it therefore I did not have the card set up for automatic payments (my other two cards are set up for automatic payments). I forgot about this card because it was not in use, however around October, a member fee of 39.00 was assessed on the account as well as two subsequent late payment fees before I became aware of any these charges. I went ahead and paid the amount which was a total of $94.89. I however came to realize recently that my credit score dropped by 60 points because capital one reported the late payments. I called the customer service line on Saturday the 27th and the rep was kind enough to reverse the member and late payment fees. It was early in the morning and she informed me that I would need to call back an hour later to speak with a higher-level supervisor who could assist with getting the late payments removed from my credit. I was unable to call at the time she indicated, and just called today. Both the customer service rep and the supervisor I spoke with were not helpful and refused to remove the negative indicators from my credit. They insisted they could not control what another rep had told me and the only thing they could do was to file a dispute on my behalf and it would be up to the credit bureaus to decide whether to remove it. I explained to her that I understood the mechanics of the credit dispute process and that a bureau will only remove negative information if either the owner of the credit file proves that the negative information were unwarranted or the creditor requests that such information be deleted. I am requesting the latter and I know it can be done because other capital one customers have reported online that similar past due information were removed from their credit by capital one. Additionally, the rep I spoke with on Saturday informed me that this would be done. The supervisor was unyielding and stated that nothing can be done.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: Capital one has been kind enough to process a credit for the charges on my account but the negative reporting on my credit is of paramount importance to me (more than the refund, actually). I would hope capital one would follow through on promises made by a rep and as a courtesy remove the "past due" notations from my account. I understand that capital one is within its legal right to report this information, however I hope that by refunding the member fee and late charges capital one appreciates that this was in fact an oversight on a card that has been dormant for at least a year. Thanks.

Regards,

Review: I have been with Capital One credit card services for many years. I have been concerned that they haven't raised my credit limits since the last time I spoke with the woman who handled my complaint from the Resolution's Department concerning this glitch they called it the first time. The took care of it and told me that I should NOT have any problems and each year if I want to submit a request for a credit line increase on my accounts that I should not have any issues with this. I requested this quite a bit using their online system and would get a declined message with different reasons that varied on my accounts that really had no burden on my situation since I am always on time and never late and never over the limit either. I have a stellar payment history with Capital One and therefore I should not be mistreated and or denied these increases and according to the last representative that I dealt with as well. I then called the Resolution Department and they were not willing to even do anything and provided me with more excuses as well as always I ended up back to square one and more confused than ever on the situation.Desired Settlement: I would like to see Capital One come through with their integrity and word of promises. I have been told many different stories when it comes to this and this is just more frustrating to have different people promise the world and cannot give me a simple request. My requests actually benefits them as well as a good customer who is mature and responsible of my accounts should never be penalized for good customer experiences! I really am shocked and surprised that Capital One would refuse my request with my excellent handling of all my accounts.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am not accepting the reasons that were stated by Capital One because this is so not the situation here. The accounts in questions range from well over a year such as account ending in #[redacted] have not been raised in more than a 12 month time frame. Account number ending in #[redacted] has been closer to 24 months since any type of raise was made to this account. Account ending in #[redacted] also has not been raised since complaint last dated in Spring of 2013 as per noted with the Revdex.com. There is no valid excuse that Capital One could use to refer to my account request of having credit limits increase as since then 3 of 5 accounts were paid in full with zero balances, the time frames are well past their normal requests for credit limit increases and my payment and usage activities have always been in outstanding reputation. Why would a customer with five accounts in such excellent status and responsibility with their accounts have to be declined for a simple and yet well deserved request?

Review: I received a credit card in the mail and destroyed it because I did not want it. The company calls my home leaving messages for me. I finally call them back and they ask me if I received the credit card I requested. I thought they were with [redacted] company regarding several gasoline cards I had applied for. So I told them no I didn't receive the cards yet. I received this capital one card again and destroyed it as I never applied for a capital one card. I receive a bill from capital one for $100 past due relating to this account that I never applied for. I called and requested this to be removed, I destroyed the card as once again I never applied for it. They told me I would receive a letter in 7-10 days. That was two months ago. I called again. The same response given 7-10 days to clear. These people are calling my home minimum 5 times a day. I want this stopped. They should not be allowed to send credit cards in peoples name and open accounts when calling to verify receipt of such credit card. This seems like fraudulent way to deal with people.Desired Settlement: All charges for this credit card be removed. The credit cards were destroyed both times they were sent. This is a very dangerous scam. What if someone got my mail and opened this account since they are sending credit cards to people who never applied for them. The phone calls need to cease.

Review: On June 6, 2014, I obtained a copy my Transuinon, Equifax and Experian disclosure file and learned that a hard inquiry was listed in my credit files from Capital One Auto Finance, Plano, TX on 2/6/2014 with a reference number [redacted]. I contacted Capital One Finance at [redacted] and spoke with the fraud department. I learned that an application was submitted online using my personal information. I also learned that the perpetrator had provided an incorrect address, telephone number, email address that was not my information. I was advised to file a dispute with the credit bureaus. The credit bureaus advised me that hard credit inquiries cannot be disputed and that I would have to contact the merchant to dispute. I contacted Capital One Auto Finance shortly and was advised to mail a copy of the details regarding the unauthorized inquiry and that Capital One Auto Finance would flag my personal information in the event another application was submitted. On 6/14/2014, I received a letter from Capital One stating that based on there investigation of my records, Capital One believe that their original determination is correct. I contacted Capital One on 6/14/2014 at [redacted] and spoke with a Supervisor named [redacted] ID# [redacted] who advised me that she did not understand the letter and could not provide me with any information regarding the nature of the reference number or content of the letter and that the letter was most strange to her.

Never did I authorized anyone to use my personal information to assume an auto loan with Capital One Auto Finance for 2/6/2014. It arbitrary that Capital One Finance would force me to accept this fraudulent and unauthorized activity as if this was me. I am appalled that Capital One Auto Finance would hold me responsible,as I have provided their company with the required information.Desired Settlement: I am requesting that Capital One remove the hard inquiry from my Transunion, Equifax and Experian credit file, as I have no association with the application whatsoever. Also, I am requesting that Capital One Auto Finance issue me an apology for taking me through all of these steps to clear my name of such activity.

When I call to correct this error EACH month they say they will remove the charge and cancel my card. The next month I get a $5 past due fee and a .50 minimum interest charge. This has gone on for over 6 months. I have no used this card in over a year and have been trying to cancel the card to no avial.Desired Settlement: Close account!!

Review: I signed up for a cashback checking account with Capital One. I was told when I sign up and as clearly stated in the terms and conditions, that I would get $0.10 cashback for every withdrawal transaction without minimum amount. However, they arbitrarily decide after the fact that they did not want to reward me for the small $1 bill pays I made to my credit cards, and yet they refused to tell me at what minimum amount they would count it for the cash back. Another words, false advertisement for their cashback checking program, do not abide their original terms and conditions, and changing the rules without providing customers with a updated terms and conditions, and refused to provide customers with clear explanations of terms and conditions. My complaint concerns: a Banking Account (Checking)Desired Settlement: I would appreciate if the company would honor all my withdrawal transactions and reward me for them regardless of amount. If they should choose to change their terms and conditions, send me the updated clear and easy to understand/follow set of terms and conditions with no contradictions (make sure to include the effective date).

I appreciate the business's honesty in recognizing the validity of my complaint. However they still have not fully credited my account with the appropriate for all the debits that were made on my account. The special reward of $9.40 that was credited on 8/26 seem somewhat arbitrary to me since it does not correspond to all the debits I made in the previous month. I understand that the rewards may take up to 60 days, so I will be looking to see if they will make further credits for small debits ($1 or less) that has not been credited yet. Currently, I notice that their system will only automatically credit me the reward if the debits are more than $1.

Review: I have been a loyal customer to Capital One for 9 years. Recently I was divorced from my ex-wife. In our paper work it was said that I would take on the Capital One debt. She was not supposed to use the card and did so causing over 400 dollars in over the limit charges and fees. After contacting Capital One they said they could not do anything as she was previously an authorized user. After this I contacted Capital One I would pay the bill in full when I received my income tax return. They agreed and I did make the payment in full. After checking my balance this month I found out my account has been closed out. After calling the customer service line they informed me there was nothing they could do and no one else they could transfer me to that could help. I made the payment as agreed and have been a customer for well over 9 years. Is this really what we call customer service??Desired Settlement: I would like to have a corporate executive contact me and reestablish my line of credit as I have been a loyal customer for so long.

Review: I am the victim of credit card fraud. I reported it to Capital One and they supposedly investigated it and have proven it is fraud. I am still not being credited back to my account for the amount of the fraud [redacted]. Therefore, I am still being penalized for fraudulent charges. I am federally protected against this, right. How come I am being penalized for it. They say I may not see the money back in my account for up to 90 days as they are waiting for the merchant to refund them. That is not my problem, I did not purchase the items therefore why is my account being penalized because of fraud activity. I want the [redacted] put back on my account as it is and was proven as fraud. Review: I signed up for a capital one credit card, under the advertising for the card I was promised 100 card credit upon initial signup if I spent 1000 dollars in 3 months. I spent over 2000 dollars in the first 90 days. I was never given a credit I was also charged a yearly fee in the first statement although the card agreement stated no annual fees.

after numerous attempts and correcting the issue, I was told that I was given a different card because of my credit score and because I had numerous delinquencies on my account. after verifying the info with all 3 credit reports the statements provided by capital one have been false. I decided to cancel my card and requesting the following outcome outlined below.

Review: In April 2016 I was working with my local bank to pay off credit cards to help increase my credit score in hopes of finding the best interest rate on a new home. After paying off some debt, in error, some of my credit cards were closed. Other credit card companies I had accounts with had no issue re-opening my accounts immediately. In trying to build my credit score back up I would NEVER close an account that has been actively reporting as that would just drop my score, which in this case my score did drop. Capital One said that they could easily open my account back up ending in 2411, but a letter would need to be faxed into them from my bank saying the account ending in 2411 was closed in error. We had faxed the letter at least 3 times over the course of two months, every time I called back in to check, Capital One said they had not received the letter yet, but once they received the letter they would open the account back up. I called again last week and was transferred around at least 4 or 5 times to different departments, once again being told they had not got the letter from my bank. We faxed it once again. Today I received a call back from Capital One with a rep telling me the letter came in and they cannot open my account because it has been closed for over 30 days!!! This is just unbelievable. I have been fighting to have this account opened back up for months, and now I am told this news today it cannot be opened back up. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told no I cannot speak to a supervisor. The service I received from this company is just TERRIBLE and I spent COUNTLESS hours with no result to my issue. It is stressful enough trying to buy a new house, and when my account was closed without me knowing it is just WRONG and Capital One should think about their customers and offer a better service.

Review: I have repeatedly asked Capital One to send statements regarding our Line of Credit account - dating back to early 2011 - and to date, I have not received any documentation. I spoke with them on March 12, 2013 and was promised that I would receive the document in 4-6 weeks - I'm still waiting. Review: Around July of this year Capital One purchased my credit card company and took over the billing process. I did not find out until my wife, [redacted], opened a past due notice from Capital One. She handles all of our bills and hadn't received a new card from them and if notification was mailed, we didn't get it. She, therefore, didn't know we had Capital One when I received the bill so she called. They explained that they had purchased our credit card company ([redacted]) and this was the bill. She explained that we hadn't received notice of that or a previous bill (our other cc company was on auto pay) but if they would tell her the balance due, she will pay it off and close the account. The Customer Service person gave her the balance amount and my wife paid it from our bank debit account. She asked directly if this was all that we owed and she was told yes. The following month we received a bill for about $8. She called and they said 'sorry, there was still a balance on your card. It was interested that posted after you paid it'. My wife explained that as far as she was concerned, she was given a payoff amount and she paid it and we are done. A manager was put on the line who agreed that the amount would be reversed and the account closed but that I, as account holder, would need to call to facilitate that. This phone call took about 40 min but she was assured that the details had been noted and I only had to call and confirm. I called that night and after going round and round with them about 20 min they finally agreed to reverse amount and close account. Last month, I received another bill for about $16. I called again and after a repeat of previous calls, they agreed to reverse the amount and close the account. I just opened another bill for $21.80 which included a $15 late payment and credit adjustments adding up to $9.93.Desired Settlement: ALL charges need to be reversed and the account CLOSED for ever!

Review: I have been stuck on the Credit Card hamster wheel with Capital One for awhile. I don't use the card, I just want to get it paid off and I've been trying for two years. I contacted Capital One last Thursday and told them I'd really like to get some help paying this card off, and if the interest rate could be lowered that would greatly help. I was told that if I made a payment of $218.00 on Friday 5/1/15 (which is not my payment date) that I would be eligible and that I should call back to get my rate lowered. I made the payment on Friday as promised and then got online to contact a representative. I was informed that they would not lower my interest rate. I can only assume that the promise was made just to get money out of me. I have made so many payments on this card that I've probably paid what I actually spent three times over or more. There is also a $5.00 monthly members fee on the card that wasn't there when I originally got the card years ago. Just another way to rip customers off.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: Since I have made it clear I am willing to work at paying off my debt, I would hope that Capital One chooses to work with me as they have with others I've spoken to. I would like to have a 0% interest rate for one year to pay the card off. I know this has been done for other people, and since I've paid what I actually spend many times over, I think this is acceptable for both me and Capital One.

I was told by Capital One before (perhaps two years ago) that help wasn't available for current accounts. Things got tougher and the account got a little behind this year. So when I reach out for help I'm told if I can make a $[redacted] payment (which is a lot of money that can pay several bills) to get current help would be available. So I forego food for the week to scrape together the money to ultimately get some relief and I find out I've been lied to. All I keep hearing is "no offers are available" for my account. I've been run around enough, I will not accept this offer. I'm not playing any games, and that includes going through an automated system to try and speak to a rep who is going to tell me the same thing and then be transferred to a supervisor, who is going to tell me the same thing. I plan on paying this account off and closing it, an annual fee is ridiculous considering all the interest you've made off of me. There are much better credit card companies out there who offer lower rates, no annual fees, better rewards, and are willing to work with their customers.
