Capital One Financial Corporation Reviews (2378)

Review: As the owner of the property [redacted], a week ago, I received a credit card statement of [redacted] with the credit card number "[redacted]". I called the Capital One Company and was directed to file the complaint with the Revdex.com. Since that event, I felt depressed and had recurring nightmare about credit card companies asking me for payment of someone else living in another continent. With the understanding that their customer representative might be discriminating against Asian due to the news or any other reason, I understood that no one there was going to resolve the potential identity fraud issue for me. I am just surprised to learn that the credit card company approved the credit card application for Leonard without investigating the information related to the mailing address, acquiring the approval from the property owners or tenants. Since my son was an Air Force and Air National Guard veteran of 14 years, I felt that this complaint might also be related to veterans and their family members.

Product_Or_Service: Capital One Bank Credit CardDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

The solution of this complaint I am seeking is that the Capital One Bank or its designee letting me know why the credit card approval form of [redacted] can be approved with the false mailing address. In addition, the bank needed to stop Leonard from using any of the financial product using that property address. Then, in the future five years, I should have the right to file lawsuit against the bank for letting [redacted] to ruin my credit

Review: Capital One has failed to refund me $175 from a company ([redacted]) that did not provide services. [redacted] agrees that I am owed the refund and claims that they did refund me, but the money was never credited to my account. I have spoken to Capital One on several occasions and they claim there is nothing they can do. However, Capital One and the owner of [redacted] were on a conference call and all parties agreed to refund the money. I have also filed a complaint with [redacted] and was not satisfied with their response.Desired Settlement: $175 credit to my Capital One credit card.

Review: I have been in contact with [redacted] with Captial One Executive office and did not get any where on this matter.

Capital One was reporting at the time 3 out 4 accounts that were showing 30 days late on my credit reports.

After tracking down why, it was linked to not receiving paper statements as well as I had to log into several accounts to find out the balances.

With me assuming they were paid off I never thought of needing to log into them. [redacted] failed to resolve this matter.

Also, I am still not receivng ANY paper statements.

[redacted] talks like she is willing to help, but she has cause more headache than resolutions.

Of the one account that was not orginally questioned, there was no late payment of the initial inquiry listed with my credit reports, now as of today it has now appeared for the month of September.

As you can see this inaccurate reporting falls under the FCRA and will be more than happy to escalate it with government agencies.

I have no issues of closing my accounts and taking my business elsewhere.Complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I require ALL late payments to be removed from ALL my credit reports

Paper statements FOR ALL accounts (3rd request)

Combine ALL accounts under ONE login (3rd request)

A letter of apology from [redacted]

Review: I have been a longstanding customer with Capital One Bank for more than 15 years or so. I have to say, that I am completely dissapointed with the way that a transaction dated June 2013 on My Checking Account was handled. During this month, I made a payment to my [redacted] Credit Card in the amount of 2,242.36 -- which was supposed to be a payment to pay down all of the balance on this account. However, just today, I found out that [redacted] was not able to debit this money from my account-- due to a "Funds on Hold" charge from Capital One Bank..which in turn has cost me excessive fees on my credit card statement from [redacted]..and also has caused me to have to pay down the balance of my credit card account..yet again to [redacted]. I am very upset that this has happened..because I talked to a representative from Capital One Bank.. who assured me that the funds were available in my Checking Account on June 12th. But because Capital One did not allow [redacted] to withdraw these funds from my Checking account.. I am back to square one -- and have to pay the balance plus interest and other fees all over again. And to top that off-- the rep from capital one tells me the only thing they can do is refund me overcharges and fees that [redacted] charged me due to NSF (on hold fees) on my account. I cannot begin to tell you the financial stress and pain this oversight has caused me.Desired Settlement: I would like for Capital One to refund or send the $2,242.36 to [redacted] on my behalf. Again, I (the consumer) am stuck paying for a credit card bill ALL over again...due to the fact that Capital One rejected my payment.

Review: Capital One allowed a one[redacted] to run up over $4,000 of credit card acct. ending [redacted]. Capital One told me under the zero fraud policy I would not be made to pay it and they would go after [redacted] criminally for it. Capital One only removed some of the charges and is trying to make me pay $2,066.87 also [redacted] has not been brought up on any charges whatsoever.Desired Settlement: I want the $2,066.87 wiped from my credit balance and a letter of apology from Capital One for lying to me.

Review: I have a personal credit card with capital one, and a business card with capital one. My credit history with capital one is 9 years long, with 0 missed/late payments. I applied for the spark business card and was told over the phone when I initially signed up that my credit limit would be near the one I have on my personal because I am personally guaranteeing the card. It is only 500.00 credit line on the business card.. They also enrolled me into a credit steps program, in which I did not want. I have requested a higher limit and have been denied multiple times. I have used and paid the card off several times in one month, I have been denied credit transactions in front of client, and so forth.Desired Settlement: I would like to speak with someone from executive relations.

Because this card uses my personal guarantee to secure the card, I would like capital one to take into consideration, the usage I have already made and paid off in full each month, and my personal card with capital one.

I would like a functional credit line, and not $500.00 We currently have a credit line with [redacted] of $3500.00

I would like the bank to take all of this into consideration.

Thank you.

Review: Capital One is reporting to the major credit agencies (Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion) that my account was late. However, I had always made on-time payments. In particular, at Experian, Capital One is showing a late payment on August 2013 for partial account #[redacted].... and a late payment for July 2014 for partial account #[redacted].... These are both inaccurate. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: Please contact the credit reporting agencies and update my record to reflect that it was not late. Thank you.

Review: I APPLIED FOR A CREDIT CARD ABOUT A YEAR AGO FROM CAPITAL ONE. THEY SENT A LETTER OF DENIAL. DEAL DONE - NOTHING. YESTERDAY, I RECEIVED A STATEMENT FROM CAPITAL ONE STATING THAT THE YEARLTY FEE WILL BE BILLED TO 'MY ACCOUNT' NEXT MONTH. I NEVER RECEIVED A CARD FROM THEM, NEVER ANYTHING IMPLYING THAT I WAS FINALLY APPROVED - NOTHING. MY WIFE CALLED THEM AND SAID 'SEEING AS HOW THERE IS NO ACCOUNT WITH THEM HOW CAN WE OWE THEM A FEE?" THEY WOULD NOT TALK WITH HER. SHE TOLD THEM THEY HAD NO CHANCE IN HELL THAT THEY WOULD GET ANY FEE AS THEY HAD DENIED US AND WE NEVER RECEIVED ANY CARD OF ANY TYPE.Desired Settlement: THERE IS NO FEE AS THERE WAS NEVER AN ACCOUNT ESTABLISHED.

I TELEPHONED CAPITAL ONE TO HAVE THE FEE REMOVED AND WAS TOLD THAT WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. IT IS MY OPINION SINCE THE CARD IS CLOSED I SHOULD NOT INCUR ADDITIONAL CHARGES OUTSIDE OF WHAT IS ALREADY OUTSTANDING.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I WOULD LIKE THE AMOUNT CREDITED BACK TO MY ACCOUNT AND ANY OTHER CHARGES INCURRED PRIOR WHEN IT SENT MY ACCOUNT OVER THE LIMIT.

Regards,

Review: My wife [redacted] opened an Credit Card account with [redacted]. Upon hearing the news that Capital One purchased Orchard we paid our credit card account off and closed the account on August 28, 2013 and I cut up the card. In September we received a bill for a balance of $593.82 that was due. I phoned the company and a Capital One representative answered the phone. The representative informed me the account was closed and the balance was 0. The representative also informed me the closure would be permanent on September 28, 2013. During the Month of October 2013 we received a bill for $3.08. I phone Capital One and the representative alleged we made charges on the card on September 23, 2013. I told the representative that we closed the account in August and cut the card up and if there were charges made on it in September then it would have to be fraud. I was eventually transferred to a 2nd representative who informed me the charge of 3.08 were for interest charged for September. I asked the representative why am I being charged on an account that do not exist. Do [redacted] charge her for an account she do not have with them? The account was closed two (2) Months ago. The balance was zero. Why am I being charged for an account that no longer exist? The representative said she would wave the charge. I may be wrong but this is not ethical. I have had dealing with this company in the past which was not good also.Desired Settlement: I have dealing with this company where they say all is forgiven and they called be back three years later. They indicated I owed them $5,000 for membership dues accumulated on a card I never used for the before mentioned time frame. I do not want to repeat the same!

Review: I had transferred a balance to the Capital One credit card with promotional rate of 0% interest. However the promotion was ok in first month but Capital One started charging interest on the balance, increased my minimum payment, which resulted my automatic payment to fall short and charging more fees on top on the interest rate. I called capital one and they "opened" a case saying they have to review the call recordings and in 2 to 3 weeks someone will call back. I said that is too long, the rep supposedly increased the level and said someone call you in a week. Its been about month with no calls and no change in the account regarding interest rate and promotion. I called after almost 4 weeks passing and still no answer I am told they need few more days and they are waiting for another info from another department, which initially they said they have to listen to the call, if they listen to the call its clear on the call and they will see the truth. This is costing me over $200 in interest fees and much higher minimum payment resulting in financial problems. I need this taken care asap. Its a simple fix. No one transfers $18,000 with interest rate of over 20%. All they have to do is listen to the call that I made the transfer on. It is clear on the call. More time passes they are gonna they don't have the recording anymore. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: fix the promotion rate of zero interest, reverse all fees charged, remove any negative reporting on my credit and some kind of compensation for the big problem they have caused and not fixing the issue promptly, affecting my credit and for the financial restrain that has put on my budget. extend the promotion for more months would be acceptable.

Review: I have been a Capital One customer for almost 5 years now. I have two checking accounts, 2 credit cards, and an auto loan through capital one. I was charged overdraft fees 4 ( $35 x 4=$140 ) times in one day on 08-23-2013, even after I transferred money instantly from my other account before the business day even ended. According to my bank statement, the account balance did NOT fall below $0. I had also transferred money immediately into the account from a different Capital One bank when I saw the "Pending" transactions. I do not understand y capital one would let the three charges go through just so they can collect over daft fees after the first transaction had already been declined. This is completely on ethical, my entire family uses Capital One for their banking, and this is the last thing I expected from them. This is the same type of overdraft fees that ended up in class action lawsuit involving banks like [redacted] and [redacted]. I would hate to see Capital One go through the same thing because I do enjoy the customer service muchDesired Settlement: All I want is that I be credited that $140 dollars that was charged in fees.

Review: I have been receiving junk mail/advertising mail from CapitalOne for over one year. I have poor credit and this makes me a target of most banks and credit card offers. However, I have had fraud, identity theft against me recently and over the past two years. I am trying to avoid any new credit line or offers from any financial instituition. I have requested by calling and by mail that CapitalOne stop sending me credit card offers, as this is causing me undo hardship and possible identity theft issues. Recently, I asked twice that CapitalOne stop sending credit card offers/advertisment to me, but they just keep on sending the mail/offers anyway. I want this mail to stop coming. My complaint concerns: OtherDesired Settlement: I need the credit card offers to stop, in order to avoid identity theft, and if identity theft does occure as a result of CapitalOne not honoring my request, that they be liable for any identity theft, or fianancial hardship incurred.

Review: I saw a fraudulent charge a week ago on September 19, 2013 (claim number: [redacted]) of $64.20 and reported it, but later on September 21, 2013 , (claim number: [redacted]). I noticed my card was stolen so I reported it. It happened on my old account ending I 8932. So I reported it and my the customer rep changed my card to [redacted] , but I was not credited ,even though I told the customer rep I did not make the charges. On September 26, 2013 I had to open another fraud claim on the stolen card charges. I was credit for some fraudulent charges ,on September 27, 2013 that equaled $64.20, but in another transaction Rebilled for $64.20 on September 27. 2013, for which I opened another transaction AGAIN on the $64.20 charge, ( claim number: [redacted]). Now at this moment, I have seven or more claims , two on the same amount and being FORCE to pay for charges I did not make. The absurdity to have three claims , because no one has bother to take care of the claims based on Capital One Policy.I know Capital One Policy and that amount is suppose to be forgiven. I want my money back as the Capital One Policy states and those cases close. I was a happy new Capital One Customer, but after this I want to pay my cards off and and close my accounts. I would not recommend or wish this treatment an a friend nor foe.

Also I am getting Rebilled on my account ending in my old account 7335 for charges I told were fraudulent . The are $8.53 and $5.37 unauthorized charges? I was even given a new account, 7510, because it was fraud when I talked to the customer rep on September 14, 2013.

I was contacted today by Customer Service Rep claiming my case not fraud when October 1, 2013 I was left a message claiming the case was closed. Until my fraud case is closed as fraud my complaint stands as several people at Capital One contact me with different messages. I want my case classed as FrAud since it is and the complaint will be accepted. At the moment I feel Capital One is not living up to their policy and I felt threatened by rep who called me at work today. I want the matter resolved as fraud.

Review: Name on Account: [redacted] We are writing to you to seek final resolution on the account listed above. Upon the death of her spouse, [redacted] on 3/17/13, [redacted] was widowed and left with enormous debt incurred from her husband’s gambling habit. She also found out, her husband had opened a credit card account with Capital One using her credit. Since his passing, we have been working with [redacted] to settle the debts she is now responsible for due to her husband using her credit history. On 6/9/13—we called Capital one and spoke with customer representative, [redacted] (female) and told her the situation [redacted] was currently in at Capital One. Nevertheless, we made it clear we wanted to “do the right thing” and pay off the debt owe. However, we could not pay all of it due to the lack of resources in her possession. We tried to find an amount that would satisfy her debt and at the same time fully close the account on “good terms”. The agent, [redacted], referred us to her supervisor, [redacted] who worked with [redacted] to settle on the amount of $4408.10 to fully settle her account. On 6/22/13, [redacted] wrote out a personal check for $4408.10 and mailed in the payment with a note indicating that this was the amount discussed and agreed by Supervisor [redacted] The check was cashed on 6/27/13. On 8/5/13—[redacted] received a bill for $915.96 from Capital One—this is purely based on interest. Capital One had not accepted our payment to settle and close the account. On 8/11/13—we called Capital One once again and this time spoke with agent [redacted] (from [redacted]), explained the entire story with her and she referred us to an agent in “escalations” named, [redacted] ([redacted]). We once again went through the entire narrative and he referred us to put all this in writing and send it to the Capital One Correspondence department. We did not get a decision or communication from Capital One, but rather, another statement arrived on September 2013 in the amount of $954.96 (with an additional past due charge of $39). In the breakdown of this bill it states that $117 were from Capital One Fees and $728.63 was from Interest. On 9/19/13, we called Capital One, talked to agent [redacted], and he referred us to the Collections department at Capital One---we spoke with agent [redacted] who helped us settle the account as MANUAL SETTELEMENT EXCEPTIONS. We were told to check on the status of this request during the middle of the week of 9/23/2013. We called on 9/25/2013, spoke to [redacted] who notified us that our request was denied because the bill was due on June 22, 2013, but they cashed the check on 6/27/1313. We were hoping that Capital One would accept her payment of $4408.10 as good faith payment to settle and finalize her account with Capital One. She really wanted to “do the right thing” and pay off what she could to Capital One We really hope this communication will be taken into serious consideration and that the outcome will work to a final resolution for all parties.Desired Settlement: We just want Capital to accept the good faith payment of $4408.10 agreed upon on June 9, 2013 as the final payment to settle and close the account

Please remove the hard-pull from all records of all credit reporting bureau agencies: Innovis, Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. Review: I was behind on my loan payment. I paid what I was told was due in full 3 months ago. I have been since then paying my payment 2 times a month in order to be caught up according to Capital One. I was told that I was caught up by one of the people that I spoke with through the customer serv. I just spoke to them last week to be told I still owe them 2000.00 because I had only paid the interest. My payment is a set monthly payment for 72 months. It is not set up that way. I have paid in 3 months time 2700.00. There is no way I was behind that many payments. I was told originally it was only 3 months. I have paid this and they are still saying that I am 3 months behind. I need help in finding out what is happening with this because something isn't right. I have asked for a printout of my payment history sent to me with no a due.My complaint concerns: an Auto LoanDesired Settlement: I would like to have my account showing current in payments and my bill adjusted accordingly.
