Capital One Financial Corporation Reviews (2378)

Review: I missed a payment in January of this year because the app had some type or registration error it kept giving me, even though I had used the app many times before and wasn't a new register. Due to this error, I wasn't able to login and change the payment type for that month. So, I called in a day later and explained what had been going on with the login system, and the rep took my payment and then I asked him if I was still enrolled in my credit steps program, to which he assured me I was. I previously had missed 1 payment in November last year, simply b/c I mixed my due dates up and after that I set up automatic minimum monthly payments at the suggestion of the rep. He still re-assured me that I was still in the program for my automatic increase for April this year. Fast forward to this month and I didn't see my increase. I logged into my account and started an online chat. The rep in that session only kept repeating to me that I had been automatically unenrolled. I kept explaining to him what happened and what I was told and that they could pull the call to verify. He only continued to repeat the same thing and then had me wait for about 10 minutes twice to come back and repeat the same thing. I explained to him that Capital One should stand behind the information given by their customer service reps b/c If we can't believe them then what are they there for. He said he would feel the exact same way in this situation. Great, now where is the customer service? My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: automatic credit limit increase I was told that I would receive.

Review: First I love this company and this is the first problem I had with them. The issue is charges was not able to be paid because of credit card issues. I was told different things by different reps and supervisors. Offer was made but I declined because it was not close to the amount owed. Because of this issue I accured fees that I feel I should not be charged for. This put me at an great disadvantage because I had to find and pay for ways to work, appts, take my child to school and myself to school. I'm hoping that someone will be contacting me about this issue being that I have contacted the company. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I will like for them to handle the fees that I am now being charged.

Review: When I started this complaint, the Revdex.com advised to call capital one directly providing contacting information, such that the Director's name is Michelle. I called, received a completely different person, who laughed at me when I communicated who I wanted to speak too. He is very rude, placed me on hold for over 10 mins. He never placed me in contact with her nor did he ever come back on the phone to continue speaking with me.

I have fraudlent charge on my account with [redacted] Wireless that Capital One is not providing a resolution. I have received no help, customer service is unacceptable (rude, un-educated, not understanding, not willing to help.). I obtained this card to prevent myself from being fraudelently charged.

Also, I was placed on a plan with Capital One, such that after making the first 5 credit card payments, I would receive a reduction in my interest rate and an increase in my credit limit. I have made 5 on time payments. I have proof that I made 5 payments. After making my fifth payment, I asked for the reduction in interest rate and increase in credit limit. They would not which is a violation of the agreement. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: First, I want the 34.99 incorrect charge credited to me. Next, I want a reduction in interest rate and increase in credit limit for making 5 credit card payments. If not, then I will close the account, and not pay a single dime.

Review: I had placed an order with a company called [redacted] through capital ones credit card. The product was not what they described and I was not happy. Capital one assured me they would take care of the problem and I disputed it. They refunded the money and did research. They made me return the product to the company with a delivery confirmation and assured that would be all they needed and I was not going to have any problems. Then the credit was denied and put back on my credit card three months later. I then once again contacted Capital one and they stated I had to fill out dispute forms, that I called for every single day non stop. I talked to agent after agent trying tog et this form because they said I had 30 days. They said don't worry you will get the form. They said they faxed it never got it. They said they mailed it, never got it. Then after 30 days they told me tough luck you didn't send in the form and we cant help you. I NEVER EVER EVER GOT THE FORM, and if they pull the phone records (unless they hide or delete them), I can probably get phone records showing I called if need be. I didn't get this form not because I didn't want to but because they never sent it and I continually contacted them. I had sent the product back by their request. I paid for a product I didn't like and don't have and had to pay to send it backDesired Settlement: I would like the money back for the product I don't have. The company can deal with the other company on their own time at this point.

Review: I have had an account with Capital One now for over two years. I requested an increase and it was denied, this isn't the first time. Before, they said I didn't have enough credit history to allow me for a credit increase, then it was due to my income, while another instance left me perplexed, I had received a letter stating that my account was unable to be processed and therefore cannot be approved for an increase. Now as my most recent request "A credit limit increase on your account is currently not available upon request in order to review

account activity at assigned credit limits". This is absolutely ridiculous. I have established credit with all three bureaus above 730, a very well paying job and no missed or late payments, ever. I cannot get a representative to give me any clear cut answer, its always beating around the bush talk. I might also add that I have had a Discover account the same age and they gave me a $2000 increase just recently. All and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank YouDesired Settlement: A credit limit increase (a fair one at that)

Very unsatisfied customer. My account was behind and I received a phone call about a payment. I said yes I would like to make a payment, half now the other in a few days. The employee said great we can assist you and bring your account current and in good standing. o I make half the payment and set up for them to debit the rest from my account in a week. Reminder this is September 2nd when we are speaking. I check online on September 3rd to see if my payment has posted and little do I know they closed my account In august. I am very unhappy and I called and spoke with a manager and she said there was nothing she can do. The person I made the payment to told me my account was not closed and would be current after the payments were processed. They lied to me and took my money without telling me the truth. Now I am stuck with a closed account and a hit on my credit after I was told it was open. Will not be recommending this company to anyone I know and will continue to file a complaint with the Revdex.com.

Review: My Account was paid in full, the hole 426.00 dollars. Every since I have received the card and made small purchases when my payment was due it was a mess trying to process them online or by phone. I have made many attempts to have this situation resolved and nothing. So to sum it up the information that was provided to the three credit bureau is in correct that was provided by Capital One. I have called them many times to get the situation taken care of and disputed it 4 times with the credit bureau. They cant change anything unless Capital One does it on their end. So I am at wits ends with this stuck on my credit report until April 2022.My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I am hoping to have this resolved and the account reported to the credit bureau corrected. My account was not a charge off account also it was paid in full no settlement the total balance. Also the customer requested the account closed due to no longer needed. I feel like that means my account should be in good standing.

Review: they charged me a late fee on the account after I made a payment during the month.Desired Settlement: I don't need a settlement I just want it on there record of the bad practice of charge a late fee after a payment has been made during the 30 day billing cycle.

Review: my payment was late for the month of February , when I received my march bill, it stated the new payment for march and reminded me to avoid missed payments. It does not state the card is being put on hold, or to make a payment immediately. the instructions are clear to make the new payment by the payment date provided. If they are going to put a hold on your card, should it not be required to notify you on your next statement, or better yet a phone call? No other service discontinues its product without warning, this is not acceptable.

Account_Number: account ending in **Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

Re enable my card, and change the information on the statement to warn customers their card is being put on hold until payment is made. The statement sent does not even suggest this as a possibility, it only states to make payment on the date provided

Regards,

Review: I contacted Capital one with regards to my payment history between 2008 and 2010. Capital One did an investigation and issued a letter stating that I had No Late Payments in those 2 years. I forwarded this letter to the credit bureaus. The bureaus contacted Capital One and added 6 late payments to the year 2008! Apparently capital one lied to me and told the credit bureaus something different! This is unacceptable behavior! As a result of this my scores have dropped almost 100 points!Desired Settlement: Since capital one sent a letter stating I had no late payments they should honor that, They should make changes to this account to reflect what they sent me. Because the letter they sent me was after they had done their investigation. In other words they should delete all late payments if present between 2008 and 2010 as per letter they sent me.

Review: CapitalOne took over accounts from HSBC Retail Services (including mine) while I was deployed. I was not provided any information regarding the new account and am unable to obtain a written statement from CapitalOne in order to handle the account. CapitalOne employees will not provide me any information over the phone, and the nearest branch is over a two-day drive away, in another state. CapitalOne seemingly does not want to make accounts or bill payment accessible to its account holders and makes no effort to accommodate service members.Desired Settlement: Delivery of written statement by mail WITHOUT having to drive four days round-trip to Texas from California.

Regards,

Review: On May 25th my Capital One Bank Credit card Accounts were access fraudulently by suspect(s) using my stolen social security number. They changed telephone numbers and address numerous times despite me contacting Capital One bank notifying them of the fraud activity. (2) New credit cards where requested by the suspect(s) and delivered via FedEx to the suspect(s) location in Kismet, FL. I received a notification of this via an email. It also stated the package was left at the front door. The breach was made through Capital One Bank and they should be held liable. They are also refusing to cooperate with me as the victim of identity theft granted to me by federal laws in which state all persons, or corporations I contact concerning the recent theft must be forth coming, and cooperative with the victim. Capital One Bank has on more than several occasions has refused to give me the address they had the fraudulent cards delivered to. I have reported this to the FTC, Broward County Sheriff, FBI (Internet Crimes Divisions), IRS, Credit Bureaus, and also FedEx (report [redacted]). FedEx has denied any wrong doing and also refuses to cooperate. and they are currently being dealt with as well.My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I want them to give me the full address where the fraudulent cards were delivered to so I may provide it to the detective handling my case. I also want those fraudulent cards delivered to me. I want a real apology and them to acknowledge they really screwed up. I have already closed my accounts because they are unable to protect my personal information. So with that being said I also want my accounts wiped clean. Meaning I owe them nothing! I want a zero balance on both my account so I no longer have to deal with them again. They have caused me a great deal of emotional distress and anxiety.

Regards,

Review: A person was able to open a credit card account with Capital One using only part of my name, address, and birth date. I was told Capital One would report the fraud and remove it from my credit report (phone call June 14, 2016 at approximately 10:30 PM EST). However, a person should not be able to open a credit card in my name with that readily available information. I believe the people that might be responsible were in my neighborhood door to door asking for peoples' information because they were pretending to sell Verizon FIOS. The fraudulent Capital One statement I received had an address for PO Box 71083 Charlotte, NC 28272-1083. Their customer service number was 18009557070. When I initially called, they tried to get my social security number. That is when I contacted the customer service number on Capital One's website (1-800-227-4825).My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: Firstly, I would like someone to catch the frauds. They answer their fake customer service line at 18009557070. Then, from Capital One, confirmation that this cannot happen again, confirmation that my credit score is not impacted, and an explanation as to why someone was able to open a credit card without all of my information.

Review: This is in regards to a credit card that I have with capital one with a balance of $654 here is what happened:

1. Capital one failed to provide me a statement and notification online that my statement was available

2. As a result capital one reported my account 60 days late.

3. Because of this I am having difficulty getting a mortgage for a home for my son and I.

4. Their website was changed and because of this tgeir website is unavailable on my computer.

I am a cancer survivor, single mother and disabled veteran. This negative information is detrimental to my child and myself financially. My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: Correction to my credit report to all 3 bureaus. Paper statements since I can't access their website and capital one doesn't notify me via email that my statement is available.

Review: I purchased a motorcycle through Capital One/[redacted] over two years ago. The bike was stolen, and a police report was provided. When I spoke with someone with Capital One/[redacted], they stated they would updated the credit report as a charge off/repossession as they had sent some to take the bike away, however it was stolen. The insurance on the bike would not pay out because it was less then 60 days old. However Capital One keeps selling the account to a collection account, even though they promised to mark it as a charge off/reposseion. I need the account deleted or updated to be a repossession/charge off.My complaint concerns: a Credit CardDesired Settlement: I would like the credit report to be back to only capital one/[redacted] as a charge off and no longer sold to collections

Review: I have been trying for a few weeks now to settle account issues with Capital one with no success. Back in October/November, my account was deliquent, but I made a $50 payment in the beginning of November, and a $70 additional payment at the end of November. The next time I logged into my account, in the beginning of December, the Payments tab listed both of my payments. The Accounts Summary page listed my previous balance as $515.22, my current balance as $445.22, an available credit balance to use of $54.78, and a $0 minimum payment due on 12/20/13. However, I went to use my card at a vending machine and was delined. When I wrote customer service asking why, I was told my last payment was $50 on 11/1, so my account had no available balance due to delinquency....? I wrote back and forth to customer service 2 more times, asking where is their record of my $70 payment (it shows online?), how am I delinquent if I have no payment due, why does the account page show available credit if I have none, etc. Twice they wrote back and did not answer my questions, but merely stated again that my account is delinquent so I have no available credit. I sent a final message on 12/20, stating that if I did not get answers to my questions I would have no choice but to turn this into the Revdex.com, as I am not getting clear answers whatsoever from customer service, and the information that they are giving is completely different than what is on the customer service page. The message I received back is that this is not something they can respond to online, and that I have to call..? I'm confused. Three times I received answers from customer service, and now suddenly they can't respond via email at all?! I work for a bank and this is very poor customer service.Desired Settlement: I would like answers to my questions, once and for all. I work long hours, and I am not allowed to use my phone for personal calls, so they must answer via email. I want to know where my $70 payment was applied to. I want to know why there is a $0 balance due for 12/20 if the customer service reps claim I am delinquent. I want to know why the customer service reps tell me I have $0 available credit and the Account Servicing page states I have $54.78 available credit. I want the Account Servicing page to state the CORRECT information, and I want it to MATCH what customer service is telling me. I also want an apology for giving me the run around and not answering my questions. I would also like to know that from now on I will only receive correct and matching information from both customer service and the Capital One website.
