Tell us why here...National Grid was performing work in the street outside of this customer's home on *** *** in Bayville Long Island, NYThe gas main was being replacedUpon completion of the work National Grid became aware of an unsafe condition the customer had created on his property; therefore the gas remained cut off at the curb by the utility until the condition was corrected by the customer. The customer had built and placed a garage over a high pressure gas line thus creating a hazardous/unsafe conditionUntil the customer contacted the utility and went through the appropriate process of having the gas line moved and a new meter set/relocated, the gas would remain off. Once contact was made with the customer, the information packet received, payment received for the gas relocation..etc...the work was performed by National Grid. As many management personnel were called upon from the appropriate departments in order to expedite the process so *** *** was not without gas service any longer than was absolutely necessary. The necessity to interrupt the service was due to a safety violation caused by the construction and placement of a garage over a high pressure gas line. When situations such as this arise, National Grid must err on the side of caution and keep its customer's safety the number one priority regardless of inconveniences the temporary loss of gas may create

We have been made aware of your complaint with the Revdex.com. In reviewing your case it appears that Nationalgrid had to lock all the
gas meters in the building due to multiple leaks in the building on 2***/and restored the service on 6/**/16. You were billed up till 05/06/and then billing was resumed from the day the new meter was set on 6/**/16. I have adjusted your bill that so that your account was closed on 2/**/and then reopened on 06/**/so that you will not incur any gas charges during the time period you did not have gas serviceYou now have a credit of $as of 03/**/17. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:they were unresponsive and unreachable for weeks at a time From the date that our gas was turned off (WITH NO NOTICE WHATSOEVER) to the time it was restarted took almost weeks WEEKS without a hot shower, dryer, washing dishes Entire weeks went by without any communication from the company The only reason things got moving is because we brought it to the attention of Senior executives in corporate relations Yes we now have gas restored but it was ridiculous how long it took and how ineffective the communication between departments was If this had happened in winter, would they leave a customer in the cold for weeks? After this experience, I say probably Yes Yes, they resolved the issue and yes we were at fault But my complaint remains that the company exhibited complete disregard and lack of integrity when dealing with us

The gas company came by a installed a device that will allowed THEM to do their job properly..however..they have not refunded ME the estimated over payment of dollars I was charge by the gas company in the middle of holidays season
