On February 19, 2015 a supervisor with Ethical Electric notified [redacted] by way of email of the goodwill credit being offered. This credit would effectively adjust the customer's rate back to the rate charged by the Utility for all bills in question.  We believe this is a satisfactory resolution.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I agreed to a "variable rate" dependent on current electrical price variations. The increase was several hundred times the national average increase. This constitutes a fraud which is not acceptable and is perpetrated constantly on unsuspecting public electric buyers. I have received their last bill which now charges over 20 cents per kilowatt hour! That's another 40 - 50 dollars that they have swindled from me. Their activities can not be overlooked by the Revdex.com. Not even if they pay back one aware customer. They have probably collected millions of dollars in misrepresented billing. I will see this exposure through and expose them and the Revdex.com if they do not act to correct the issue completely for all customers.
Regards,

Ethical Electric is a great solution for those people looking to have their voice heard on where they want their power to come from. Not everyone can drop a windmill in their backyard or put solar panels on their one bedroom apartment, and this is where Ethical Electric comes in.
If you're like me, you rarely even look at your electric bill, but it's nice knowing it's coming from renewable sources and pushing our society to make the switch. They're also pretty cool people all around and really are there to make a difference.
Side note: They give you a $50 credit if you use the code "Ethical50". Hope this helps you with your choice and hopefully they keep expanding and doing their thing!

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:   Ethical did not acquire me as a customer, they use a loophole in the system to get onto my account. My wife had no idea that answering a few questions about the environment would be used to "slam" her. She no longer trust anyone who calls our home. I feel as though I have been robbed, but Ethical is saying they did nothing wrong. As a consumer there is little protection from this way of doing business. All I want is what Ethical took from me $550 dollars.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Dear Sir/ Madame
This is the feedback concerning the above complaint. To definitely resolve this issue, we spoke a month ago on a conference call (Justin from Ethical Electric, a Manager from [redacted] and me).

Conclusions of the conference call.

* No check from Ethical Electric was cashed as the date of  the conference call,
* Based on information provided by [redacted], Ethical Electric acknowledged many billing mistakes on my account,
[redacted] clearly advised Justin, membership manager of Ethical Electric that their last bill of $106.38 was charged by Ethical Electric seven (7) times on my account,
[redacted] also advised that it previously sent a check of $90.00 to Ethical Electric due to the overcharge of my account,
* Justin, Membership manager then requested me to return him the two checks that were previously sent to me as compensation. He stated that a new check will be issued to me taking in account the various corrections. I did by a certified mail,
* Justin also acknowledged during the conference call that Ethical will send me a compensation check of $ 243.00,
* Justin again acknowledged receipt of the check relating to the overcharge from [redacted],
* He never had the replacement check issued as today 09/09/2014 after he received the checks I did not cash returned to him. Also, he never returned my call since then. All my calls and the dates of these are on a recorded,
* Worst this company recently sent me a letter stating that I owe Ethical $443.00 without providing any detail or explanation of the amount.
Based on the above facts, I will really appreciate if your office could get in touch with this company so that these issues could be definitely resolved.

[redacted] (the "Complainant") contacted the Revdex.com requesting to be removed from Ethical Electric’s contact lists. Ethical Electric has removed the complainant's contact information from our contact lists. We ask that the complainant allow up to 30 days...

for this change to take effect. A letter will be sent to the address provided in the complaint to notify the complainant of this resolution.

[redacted] contacted the Revdex.com alleging her account was enrolled for electric supply service with Ethical Electric without her authorization. Upon receipt of the customer's complaint, a supervisor reviewed the customer's account and spoke directly with [redacted].  We...

discussed with [redacted] that, based on information provided by her, it was our understanding that she had intended to sign up for service with Ethical Electric.  However, [redacted] expressed that she had intended only to obtain additional information and did not intend to sign up for service at that time.  As a sign of good faith, Ethical Electric has cancelled service to [redacted]'s account and will issue the customer a goodwill credit. The goodwill credit reflects the total amount charged by Ethical Electric, for electric supply, for all billed periods.  We believe this brings this matter to a mutually satisfactory conclusion and sincerely hope that [redacted] considers Ethical Electric for electric supply in the future.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
An appeal was made to me for a phone conversation. Instead of private communication with me, I think the company needs to address issues with all it's customers publicly. Ethical Electric has refunded to me two months of excess billing because of my complaint to the Revdex.com. I think that very few who pay Ethical Electric over 19 - 20 cents per kilowatt hour, roughly double BG&E rate for electrical service, are aware of how much more they're paying. The Ethical Electric website states:  "Is clean energy more expensive? The short answer is  not really."  This is how Ethical Electric informs customers of the cost of their product. I think that it is misleading.
When I try to find Ethical Electric current rates on their website or with a common internet search there is no information readily available.
There is no disclosure of current rates to customers who are lured in with 3 months discounted from their regular prices. Rates are raised after 3 months to irregular amounts which are not disclosed until billing. Many people do not notice that increase. Even if they do, and quit Ethical Electrical services, they are stuck with 2 months of very high rates.
I agree with anti-war views of Ethical Electric's founder. I agree with use of wind power. I do not believe that a company should be able to charge excessive rates without previous disclosure and carry that concept using the name and reputation of it's founder.

I believe that wind power has for some time been economical and held back by regulation supported by other sources. Unethical use of it's "green" value to charge excessive rates hinders it's development. If people relate to anything about wind power as being unethical they will reject it and continue to allow its obstruction.
