I purchased a one time download for a few dollars, Now, I am being charged $49 month without my consent. No way to cancel. BEWARE!
Back in Dec 2019, I purchased a posing guide for a few dollars. It was a nice looking guide and felt good about the purchase.

However, I was then automatically opted into a course with Cole's Classroom for $49 per month, and have been charged several times. I realized that this was happening in February so I contacted them to cancel. They refused to refund my money, but I figured I would let it go and move on - even though it was unfair since I never opted into any class.

Now it is May, and I noticed that I was just charged again. I looked back at my last three statements, and there it is! I have been charged a total of nearly $350 since last December.

I am so upset that I didn't catch this. Their emails have been going directly to my spam folder, no surprise.

When I contacted their agent in February, I thought that this was the end of the story, but they continued to charge me over and over again. I am at a loos of what to do. I am going to contact my bank today.

Avoid buying anything from Cole's Classroom. It is a scam.

Desired Outcome

I want my money back and to be assured that they delete my account from their system. .

Hello, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during your recent purchase on 12/09/2019.

An "add-on" purchase to another product at the time of checkout. In this case at the time of checkout you were offered a $0.01 trial. In order to accept this trial & the terms of use, you have to check the box as shown below. You'll also note that the text includes full explanation of what to expect and when the auto-charge will occur.

During the trial period you do have full unrestricted access to 35 different courses, mentor training lessons, private Facebook group access and much more and you are able to cancel without penalty within that trial period but the membership will auto-renew at 12:01am on day 11.

While we do our very best to be very clear in our multiple emails sent to you about this, I know that life can be hectic & things can be overlooked.

In fact, we include this information in your welcome email and bold the text be as obvious as we can and tell you exactly when your trial period is over & remind our customers that if they do not cancel - they will be auto enrolled into the membership.

We received your email on February 21, 2020 and explained what you have signed up for.

We have offered you product credits which you can use to purchase our product that ranges from $19 to $99.

However, we did not get your reply whether you will accept the offer or not.

On May 20, 2020, we receive another email from you and we processed your refund.

I think it's fair to say that we always do our best to be very clear about the billing logistics with our month to month membership but we understand life can get hectic and things can be overlooked. But one thing is certain, we at Cole's Classroom never charge any of our customers manually or in any unauthorized manner. Any and all charges that occur are only from our customers initial purchase actions.

Great service and navigation when I am not 100% on how to do something. Thank you! Great support from their Support Hero's :) That's often hard to come by and much appreciated during COVID19! You guys rock!

However, I spoke with *** and he approved my request to refund the charge. I've processed your refund, so you're all set. Please note that refunds can take up to 5-7 business days to post to your credit card statement.

I tried to cancel my membership online and nothing happens. I followed the instructions and never receive confirmation.

I processed an online cancellation request. Instead of receiving a cancellation confirmation I received the following:

The subscription is managed by the subscription schedule *** and updating any cancelation behavior directly is not allowed. Please update the schedule instead.

Desired Outcome

I want cancellation of my membership and no further charges to my account.

I received an email from Larry *** with Cole's Classroom, Cole's Classroom Support Hero via helpscout.net, stating that he manually cancelled my membership, I have full access until 3/13/2020 and I will not receive further charges.

I have been a member of Cole's Classroom for close to three years now, first as a trial member, then a monthly member (for a few months) and then as a CC Pro annual member. Within the first few days of exploring the website and participating in the FB group, I could see the absolute value in staying. The number of resources and the quality of the training is fantastic.

The group membership welcomes people from all walks of life and all levels of experience, everyone contributing to make "our space feel like an extended family". Access to the group mentors and their "Ask Me Anything" spontaneous chats plus a philosophy of everyone supporting one another to continue to learn and grow, both as a photographer and as a person too, plus sooooo much more is just more icing on the cake. Constructive Critiques are encouraged. Negativity and/or toxic behavior that is so common in other groups is not tolerated.

I have friendships that have grown out of being part of this group - some local and others with people who live on the other side of the world. I have become a better person and a better, more confident photographer as a result of the training, support and experiences I've had...and I can honestly say that I have ZERO regrets.

I can not fathom where I would be in my path to launching my full-time photography business had I not taken that initial leap and given the trial period a chance. This was and is an investment that I will continue to make for years to come.

I signed up for their $1 offer for a video class advertised by a girl on Youtube and video was by this girl I don't remember her name (I need to look up in my emails). Then I got a pop up for a free trial for a Cole's classroom. Never did I see a $49 membership fee advertised or that I will be billed.After I noticed a $49 charge on my credit card, I saw that it was my second! charge! I researched my emails and did see one saying my trial is ending. I probably glanced over it but didn't care as I NEVER signed up for a PAID membership or was MADE AWARE that IT IS PAID AFTER TRIAL ENDS. So even this email doesn't mention it's $49! This is a scam, I see so many people with the same complaint. They hide these charges and then charge people knowing that their emails are not fully disclosing the cost and in addition people get so many emails they don't read them all. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM, stay away. I have a suggestions for everyone who was affected; let's all contact Instagram and report his account so it gets blocked. Like this at least some justice will be served. I'm out of $100 for NOTHING! Didn't use his web site nor videos and never needed them! I'm not even a photographer. They gave you $1 trial, you're like sure why not? Never ever did I see that after the trial ends I will be billed! What a great elaborate SCAM this is. Shame on you Cole's Classroom. You people will not go far stealing other's money. Oh, and so funny I got the invoice for a $1 payment but NO invoice for two $49 charges. Convenient? And none of the emails explaining membership they signed me up for mentions I have to pay after trial. NONE. I have the emails.

Hello, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during your recent purchase on 12/11/2019.

On that page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. The add on is also indicated on the invoice that we sent to you.

We also sent you both a confirmation email and invoice on 12/11/2019, which both state the terms of the trial in bold lettering. As stated: "As a reminder, you have a trial offer that gives you full access for 10 days from now until 12:01am 12/21/2019". At that point you will be automatically enrolled and billed unless you cancel before then and since you get access to over $1200 in training & courses there are no refunds given. It shows that you have opened these emails as well. These emails shows that they were received and opened.

I can see that you also received (and opened) an email on 112/19/2019 indicating your trial was about to expire. It says: This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. Your trial ends at 12:01am on 12/21/2019 and your first billing will occur on that date. Note, since you get full access with over $1200 in classes there are no refunds. You can cancel whenever and will have access until the end of your paid billing period.

Yes, I saw the email titled Your membership is about to expire. No, I didn't read it as I knew my membership was for 10 days for $1 and I was under impression once it ends, I just loose access to my account. So I was not interested in reading whatever you wrote enticing me to buy something else (which turned out to be the case, you're always selling). Anyway, at the moment of paying $1 trial there was nowhere to be seen the notice that if I don't cancel after he 10 days it will cost me $49/month! This is a very elaborate scam and you should be ashamed of yourself. I signed up for a lot of trials before, like Amazon Prime etc and each time I was able to see clearly all the conditions and I knew what I'll have to pay if I don't cancel. Your trial was NOT free, I paid $1 and was under impression that after 10 days it just ends. I don't know where you hid the text you say you notify people of upcoming charges. You say you have pop ups; are you aware some people block pop ups?? I use Adblocker constantly so if your pop up was blocked I was never able to see it. Again, it's a very elaborate scam. I contacted you 2 days after you charged me for the 2nd month and still, no refunds. 2 days after the charge. You offer no refund, I know why. Because you pray on people and you know you'll have to give money back once people realise they have been scamed. Shame on you and your shady business.

Charged 49.95$ didn't authorize. Also, have not received previously purchased product.

I discovered Cole's Classroom almost 2 years ago. I started with a 1$ trial and fell in love with the platform within the first day. What CC has to offer is exactly what I needed to learn photography in a professionnal manner and build my own business from home. I decided to invest in a yearly membership and this is the best move I had done in a long time. I will never regret it and I know I will be a member for many years to come. Everyone is always happy to help and give you the best advices and constructive comments. My business is almost a year old and I can see all the progress I made since I started the courses with Cole's Classroom.

I have been a member for 5 years now! The customer service is always on point!

I paid the initial $1 trial and then when I seen all the value decided to remain a member. They were very clear at time of payment that I would have to cancel in order to not be billed. I have since opted to pay annually and never any billing issues.

An amazing resource that provides a wealth of information that is filled with amazing resources for photographers. Terms of the agreement for trial period and monthly subscription are clearly stated, and their customer service is top-notch. They go above and beyond to ensure a fantastic customer experience.

I?ve been a member for just under two years.... Cole?s Classroom is the real deal....very credible and deliver on their promises..... the mentors are unbelievably accessible - I could go on and on but feel 5 stars says it all!!!

I have had a great experience with Cole?s Classroom. It has changed my photography for the better. Knowledgeable staff/mentors are there to help and never make me feel like I?m wasting their time.

They offer so many courses, materials and their FB group is the most amazing group I've ever been part of. I couldn't start and run my business without their help and I would highly recommend to Cole's Classroom to everyone who is interested in photography.

Cole?s Classroom (CC) has made me a better and more confident photographer. CC offers online training and backstage videos (which are amazing) and has mentors on hand to answer questions on their private Facebook pages.

This program has connected me to thousands of photographers on a global level. It has given me the push to do things out of my comfort zone, like booking mini sessions, newborn sessions and becoming an LLC. Thank you CC and all your mentors!!

I have been a member of Cole's Classroom for 4 years now. When I started I was just learning about the world of photography. I now have a successful Photography business. This I owe to Cole and the wonderful mentors at Cole's Classroom. I would never think about leaving this organization, the continued education that I receive is amazing. Absolutely, love Cole's Classroom. Besides all the amazimg resources, team, mentors etc.... I have quite literally found a family. I have been a member for 2 years and have ZERO interest in ever changing that. I have been a photographer for years beyond Cole's class.... And I have learnt so much and continue to learn. The support is hands down the best. If there has ever been an issue with my acct, the support team is amazing and quick with response. This review I'm typing could go on and on. I can not say enough and it clearly shows through how much my business has grown over these 2 years.

Cole's Classroom is an incredible resource for photographers looking to start their own business or looking to improve on their business. When I found out they had a 10 day trial I tried to get as much information from it before ending my trial, but instead when the 10 days were up I had hardly made a dent looking at all their resources and continued on with a paid membership. When signing up for the trial Cole's Classroom reminds you at all points along the way that after the 10 days are up you will be charged for a monthly membership. It is up to the person paying for a trial to remember to cancel their subscription, just like with other subscription services like *** or *** etc. With all the resources Cole's Classroom offers it is still up to you to do the work to implement their creative ideas and business suggestions. I have highly recommended Cole's Classroom as a resource to my own friends, and will continue to do so.

I absolutely love Cole's Classroom. I joined a few years ago on a $1 special and decided to stay on after the 10 day trial. It is such a supportive and informative group, I have learned so much!
