This company advertise a free trial for $1. Don't fall for it unless you are willing to be charged $49 per month once you give them your credit card information. Like other reviewers, I was misled into signing up this company for a $1 trial. There were no mention of an automatic enrollment of $49 per month in its advertisement.

After the initial $1 charge, I received an invoice. There were no mention of the auto-enrollment either. About a week later, I found that they charged my credit card another $49. I immediately looked into emails they sent me to access my account to cancel, and found that they sent me the account Username information but there no password provided. So I couldn't access my account to cancel. This is similar to another reviewer's experience. I finally figured out to do a password reset to get access to the account and cancel the membership. However, I am out a total of $50, even though I was told that it was $1. I am trying to get my refund of $49. Don't fall for it, people!

Hello, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during our recent webinar. On that page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. We also sent you both a confirmation email and invoice on 8/24/2019, which both state the terms of the trial in bold lettering. These emails shows opened. I can see that you also received (and opened) an email on 8/31/19 indicating your trial was about to expire. Specifically, it reads: "This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. Your trial ends at 12:01am on Monday, September 2nd and your first billing will occur on that date." Our records indicate that your account was canceled and refunded per your request on 9/2/2019.

My wife signed up for a joke of a program for what she thought was a $1 trial. Yes, she did most likely check a box in their horrible misleading wording. I know that when they respond to this, they will use the same exact template as they do to respond to every other complaint, so I am trying to cover my bases right away. She would like to be able to cancel the membership, and we are not even asking for a refund because we know that isn't happening because you are greedy people that only care about the mighty dollar and don't care about your reputation. Whatever works for you, I guess. All we want is to get the membership canceled and not have to worry about any more charges. The biggest problem right now is that you have to cancel it on the website and she can't even get into the website because the supposed password (which is, in my opinion, a confusing jumble of words, symbols, and numbers on purpose to make it harder for people to access the website) doesn't work meaning that the membership that she is now paying $49 a month for is useless and blocking her from doing exactly what she is supposed to do to cancel. Sounds a little fishy to me. If you want to make it right then just get the membership canceled and we will move on with our lives and never even mention the name Cole's Classroom ever again.

Hello, Sorry for your frustration. Please email our support team at [email protected] with the details of the membership. Unfortunately, we are unable to look further into the account concern without more information. Thank you!

Scam! I signed up for a $1, 10 day trial. I did not see anywhere that I would be automatically enrolled into $49 a month scam. I got one "invoice" for the $1 charge but nothing indicating I was going to be charged $49. I didn't know until I was charged and then was denied a refund. This is the BEST PART! I contacted them while trying to cancel. Over chat on August 10th, I was told told "You?re welcome, happy to help! Rest assured, you won?t be charged a single penny". And guess what showed up in my bank account today..... ANOTHER $49 dollar charge! Scam artists. I have to dispute with my bank and I will be reporting for fraud, as I have the chat log indicating I do not approve of future payments, they assured me I would not be charged, and I was charged anyway. I'm happy to take this to court, can you say class action?

Hello, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during our recent webinar. On that page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. We also sent you both a confirmation email and invoice on 7/13/19, which both state the terms of the trial in bold lettering. I can see that you also received and opened an email on 7/24/19 indicating your trial was about to expire. Specifically, it reads: "This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. Your trial ends at 12:01am on Friday, July 26th and your first billing will occur on that date." We are so sorry about the billing error following your cancellation. Our records indicate that your account was canceled and that the amount billed was fully refunded to you on 8/27/19.

I have the same complaint. I didnt receive any email regarding auto renew after 10 days and they don't mention that you are signing up for a subscription. They should highlight that after 10 days they ll pick up money.. I ll suggest to everyone beware Cole. Once they are invited by the lure of a meat bowl and then empty your pocket. Don't trust them. Read terms and conditions carefully.. lots of things they write in terms and conditions which one is not display on site.
I read one quote in books which is very true.
"The elephant has different teeth for eating and showing (tusks). In other words, beauty, or pleasant appearance/behaviour can be deceptive, and not be a reflection of the person's true nature."

Hi there, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our $1 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during our recent webinar on 7/10/19. On the sales page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. I can also see that you were sent an invoice on 7/10/19, which states the 10-day term of your trial period. You were also sent an email on 7/10/19, (which I can see you opened AND clicked), which stated the following: "As a reminder, you have a trial offer that gives you full access for 10 days from now until 12:01am July 20th. At that point you will be automatically enrolled as an official pro member and billed unless you cancel before then & since you get unlimited access to over $1200 in training & courses, there are no refunds given." Furthermore, we sent an email on 7/18, stating that your trial was ending. This email specifically stated: "This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. Your trial ends at 12:01am on July 20th, and your first billing will occur on that date. Note, since you get full access with over $1200 in classes there are no refunds." I can see that your account has been canceled per your request.

Despite most of these recent reviews, Cole's Classroom is very clear about being charged $49 after the 10 day trial. They even sent MULTIPLE emails reminding me that my 10 day trial was ending. Which was greatly appreciated because I was very busy this summer!

I even contacted their support team before my trial ended because I did not want to be charged for their $49 membership, and wanted to know if they offered anything else before canceling. I opted to be charged $27/month for a lower tiered membership, but there must have been miscommunication somewhere because I did initially get charged $49. BUT, it was very easy to be refunded the difference. Their support team and the classroom staff are all very kind and I just love their classroom contents. The videos are easy to follow and extremely helpful!

My advice is to ask for their different levels of membership if you don't feel like you want to spend $49/month. If my photography business was further along, their $49/month membership holds value that I feel like I could use. But for now, I will be staying with the $27/month.

Thank you Cole's Classroom!

Cole's Classroom Response • Aug 21, 2019

Thank you so much for the kind word and for the opportunity to be a part of your photography journey!!!

Ordered a simple PDF for tips on taking family photos for $3 and found out 10 days later I was in for a $49 membership that they would not refund! Stupid!

Hi there, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our $1 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during your recent purchase. On the sales page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. I can also see that you were sent both an email AND invoice on 7/25/19, which also state the 10-day term of your trial period in bold lettering. You were also sent an additional email on 8/2/19, which stated the following: "As a reminder, you have a trial offer that gives you full access for 10 days from now until 12:01am August 4th. At that point you will be automatically enrolled as an official pro member and billed unless you cancel before then & since you get unlimited access to over $1200 in training & courses, there are no refunds given." Furthermore, we sent an email on 8/2 stating that your trial was ending. This email specifically stated: "This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. I can see that our support team has manually canceled your account per your request, as well as provided you with a full refund.

Scam company that charges your credit card unaware after hiding details in small print.

Hi there, Sorry for your frustration. I looked up your account and see that you opted into our $1 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro during your recent posing guide purchase. On the sales page, we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand. In addition to the email we sent, I can also see that you were sent an invoice on 8/2/19, which also states the 10-day term of your trial period. You were also sent an additional email on 8/2/19, (which I can see you opened AND clicked), which stated the following: "As a reminder, you have a trial offer that gives you full access for 10 days from now until 12:01am Monday, August 12th. At that point you will be automatically enrolled as an official pro member and billed unless you cancel before then & since you get unlimited access to over $1200 in training & courses, there are no refunds given." Furthermore, we sent an email on 8/10, which our system indicates was also opened, stating that your trial was ending. This email specifically stated: "This is a friendly reminder that your account will automatically renew after your trial ends. Your trial ends at 12:01am on Monday, August 12th and your first billing will occur on that date. Note, since you get full access with over $1200 in classes there are no refunds." I have the same complaint as most others. They use tricky terminology that you are bound to miss unless you are very very very careful. They make sure they are "not wrong on paper" by using times such as 12:01 AM, with a date. They play on the common belief that when a date is given, it is valid for a part of the day, not knowing that its just 1 minute into the day.
This, on top of the fact that they don't mention that you are signing up for a subscription. You are only told that after you have paid the dollar.
They have a canned response which implies that its our fault that we didn't notice. In a world where trust is in short supply, this company makes sure you get stingy with trust in all your future transactions. Probably a good lesson, but a definitely a company you would want to stay away from unless you really want to stay with them.
They refuse to cancel the membership that you didnt know you are buying and dont even offer pro rated cancellations.

Right on paper. Vile and very bad on ethics.

Scammers. I got stung like many other people here below have also stated. You sign up for a $4 guide and they add a trail for 1 cent.
They claim to have email and sent me screenshots that I read and opened them but anyone can just make up a bogus images.
I e-mailed them asking for a refund. They replied with more bonus offers... ! and then said I agreed to enter their trial and id be charged after it ends

I asked for a refund in my reply then I stopped getting responses

I then chatted to them through their chat system. I told them I have e-mailed you and you havent responded. Then they go on lieing saying they replied to me and yep sent down more screenshots. I could just draw up something like that in 5 mins
I showed them the forwarded e-mails without responses but they didnt have answer of that expect check your spam? How would it go in my spam when your first e-mail went in my inbox?

Even their website is dodgy. I am on a Windows computer and I get pop up boxes looking exactly like Mac boxes asking me to click ok for more offers! Basically like a virus

I have filed dispute with my bank to get my refund. They kept showing me their policies but told them their policies dont mean anything against consumer law

It's a rip off. Same thing: I was enticed to sign up for $1 not realizing they would hit my credit card with $49 after that. That's how they are making their money. Buyer beware!

Cole's Classroom Response • Aug 08, 2019

Hello, I looked up your account and see that you recently added a 10-day trial to Cole's Classroom Pro on for $1 through a free webinar we hosted. In this case, we also expressed both verbally & on the presentation slides that there's absolutely no "catch" but this is in fact a 10 day trial with unrestricted access, and then on day 11 there is a $49 charge if your membership isn't canceled before. This information was also included in your welcome email and your invoice. Additionally, I can see that you received and opened an email from us on 7/17/19 stating that your trial was ending and that your billing would begin on day 11.

I can see that our support team has already worked with you to manually cancel your account at your request.

I was just a few digits from entering my credit card number to sign up for this class....however, since I was laid off today, even the $1 would be hard for me to come up with.

Cole's Classroom Response • Aug 02, 2019

We understand! We hope you'll take advantage of the wealth of free resources available on our website!

I also did what most people did here: enrolled for the $1 session without reading the fine print. I have a crazy work day and I did not even get to finish the first webinar. I am not able to check my email daily. I got a text alert from my bank to inform me that I had just been charged $49 by Cole?s Classroom. I emailed Cole?s right away and got a prompt reply. My subscription was canceled. I misunderstood the email to mean that I would be refunded the first charge as well. After 3 days, I checked my credit card charges online and saw that the Cole?s charge was still there. I shot off a second email to request a refund, using polite language, and received a prompt answer that I would be refunded.

I?m not sure if I?m right but I believe I was given the refund for these reasons:

1. It was clear that I was not able to use any of the free modules in the first 10 days of the trial period.

2. I did not get to open any of their emails because of my crazy schedule. I opened the email confirming my subscription only on the 11th day, after I received a text alert from my credit card company.

3. I was circumspect in all my dealings with Cole?s. As were they with me. I did not threaten them with a poor review, or that I would report them to this website, or that I would take this up with my credit card company. I just was respectful in my request and with my follow up.

Thank you Cole?s for being reasonable.

P.S.

I was offered an additional period to access their website. Sadly, I truly don?t have the time for this. Too bad because their content seems interesting and easy to understand

Cole's Classroom Response • Aug 02, 2019

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you!

If I could give less than 1 star I would!! This company is a total scam! I bought a one time advertised online class for $4 and they automatically added an online trial for 1cent. Trick is they have your credit card info and I was now enrolled in a $49 a month subscription fee. BEWARE of getting anything from this company! TOTAL SCAMMERS!!!

I would rate it lower if I could. I purchased the 10 Day Trial after attending a webinar. Not only did they charge me after 10 Days, which was NOT in my original email, the website also claims that they sent out several emails to let me know that they were going to charge me. They never sent any to me. Such BS. I?m disputing it with my bank as well.

I?ll say this: with the amount of reviews I?ve seen all complaining about the same thing, it is incredibly poor business practice to keep doing it. I will never use this company again.

I have learned so much from this website and have never had an issue with them over anything. Yes you have to carefully read the fine print but if you do that you see that the $1 charge is only for a limited period of time. I?ve purchased several things?presets that I use in almost every photo edit, a Lightroom course that was better than the one I took at a Community college, guides for portraits, etc. and not once has anything other than what was authorized been taken out of my account. What?s great is all the knowledge this photographer willingly shares. So glad I found Coles Classroom!

Cole's Classroom Response • Jul 03, 2019

We are so happy to hear that, ***! Thanks for being such an amazing customer - We hope you continue to find the tools you need with us!

Extremely impressed with the content on this site as a new photography. I thought it was very clear that the $1 was only for the first 10 days and after that you would be enrolled in a monthly subscription. I did have to search for that amount, but despite other reviewers I thought it was clear. And again, a very helpful website!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience and thoughts!

I paid a one-time $1 fee for access to online information, next thing I know, I'm receiving charges from my checking account. This company is a bait and switch fraudulent company. How are they even allowed to operate ?!?

Hi there, I am sorry for your frustration. I see that you opted-in to our 10 day trial for our program during your recent purchase. On that page we indicate that after the trial period you will be auto-enrolled in the program if you do not cancel beforehand and we also send emails and text messages indicating this. I can also see that you received AND opened our email on 5/13/19 indicating that your trial was about to expire and that your account would be billed if you chose not to cancel. I also checked and do not see any correspondence with you requesting to cancel, nor have you opted for any cancellation activity within your account. However, I have spoken with our Customer Support team and asked them to manually cancel your account for you.

They don't even deserve the ONE star.
Read all the comments below, and I had the same issue.
The bad thing about it, they know they are deceitful because one of the first FAQ's is "why was I charged $49"
They even have screenshots to show you where you made your mistake...with NO REFUND!

Hello, the trial that you purchased had the terms available for you at the time you signed up for the 10 day trial. We do our best to ensure that proper expectations are set and even sent you both an email and text outlining the terms and how to cancel if you do not want to be a member. There is nothing bait and switch about this. I have personally reviewed your account and see our support team has already worked directly with you to resolve.
