Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted] , and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: There was no resolution other than the company now threatening me with fraud which is not a resolution Our unit was in working order when I purchased the warranty (we did not know it was low on Freon, nor did the Freon being low have anything to do with the fan motor breaking) From the other complaints on your site it is not the first time this company has claimed someone putting in a claim within the first month is committing fraud so they can get out of fixing an item My house is only years old I only purchased a home warranty because as a precaution, as with any insurance plan I had also asked for a response to my cancelling the policy and my refund and the response below is what I received threatening me with fraud which I find absolutely appalling Trying to INTIMIDATE customers is a VERY SHADY business practice to say the least My units and appliances were open for them to come and inspect at anytime and had they done so they would have known the part that broke was in working order when I purchased the warranty Again highly suspect the way the are latching on to my unit being 3lbs low on Freon when it is a 7lb unit and I did not ask them to fix that or fill it especially since I did not know it was low until their technician told us Their own technician was SHOCKED that they were going to fix our unit When my husband asked them if we had found the Freon leak in November would they have covered the unit they replied they would, again very shady This whole thing has made me VERY wary of any warranty company and I cannot believe how horrible they are to customers.In the email you read below you will see that they do not even truly know what fan I am talking about since it is the same fan that also works our heat and not just the AC unit and we had been using the heat up days before and then the weather turned nice and I turned the unit totally off, the weather then turn warm so I turned it back on and over to AC, not as she stated "It is evident that this system has been bad for a long time " since it also runs our heat So not only are they threatening me with fraud they do not even know how the unit works, which harkens back to my statement that they randomly turned down our claim because we had just taken out the warranty Since I do not trust this company to say that I changed words in the copied email below I have attached a copy of the email in PDF form We have the technician coming out to fix the unit tomorrow (now that the ordered motor has come in) and I am happy to provided a detail bill of what was fixed, if needed to show what HSC is saying about us is SLANDEROUS, in claiming that we filed a Fraudulent claim, again something they seem to say about anyone filing an early claim according to their reviews Bottom line as always BUYER beware! Unfortunately the facts do not coincide with the complaint and ignoring them does not change themCustomer's issue was not covered which is why the tech did not and would not fix itWork has to be paid for and when it was not covered by the warranty and the customer refused the work, the tech will not do it free of chargeWhat another random company does or recommends is irrelevantWe do not rig repairs or do anything not recommended or unwarranted or unprofessionalWe also do not sell new air conditionersThe system was not covered and we offered a courtesy towards the freon which the customer refused and then did on his own anywayThe refrigerator repair was not cheap it was hundreds of dollars which are now an outstanding balance due which is subject to possible further actions including but not limited to collectionsThe contract was also never cancelledIt is a blatant fabrication and untruthAt this point this account is being handled accordingly by the Fraud Prevention Department, is cancelled, and has an outstanding balance duePlease refer to our previous response for any possible offers which may be considered

This matter has been resolvedClaim was received on 617, the unit was repairedIt would have been done even quicker but the first assigned technician did let us downWhile we try to be as fast as possible with all of our claims, it is important to note that HSC does not guarantee time frames as we do rely on local contractors as wellWe always strive to be the fastest, and more often than not we are, but sometimes a claim may take a couple of days extra due to circumstances not always in our controlWe apologize that this claim took a little longer than desired and assigned a Supervisor to the contract for future claimsThank you for your understanding

What a preposterous and blatantly statement made by a customer clearly attempting to defraud our companyCustomer was not with us for a year, but rather half a yearYet he is asking a months of premiums refundedCustomer also wants $refunded for a service call which "was not completed"Only the service call and the work were, in fact, completedCustomer also had prior claims which were approved and paid for and an outstanding balance which he will be responsible to pay back and which is subject to further actions including and not limited to collectionsCustomer filed a claim for his heating system with pre-existing issues and HSC approved and covered it anywayCustomer filed a claim for his refrigerator which needed to have the evaporator manually defrosted before seeing if that would be it or if more would be neededHSC approved and paid for itThe repair did not hold long and a part was neededHSC sent out a tech and approved that as wellCustomer never requested nor was ever due any refunds from HSC nor was he told that we were working on such refundsHe asked for a refund of a deductible he has to contractually pay and attempted to argue against the professional technician's diagnosis of defrosting the evaporatorHSC advised customer that it was a legitimate charge but we would ask the technician on the customer's behalf and see if he would refund all or part of itWhich he would not as the service call and work were completedCustomer received all his repairs and cancelled his credit card and even initiated a charge backThis is a and fraudulent complaintNothing is due to this customer and he has an outstanding balance which will be handled accordingly

Revdex.com:Received a call from HSC, amazing after I made the complaint they have ruled the failure of the compressor to not be covered This is after a technician determined it was not a pre existing condition and properly working However, HSC determined that it was not properly working and would not be covered I am accept this decision but have cancelled my account with them and will try to find a company with a customer service system that allows timely response and cordial employees The customer service with this company is horrible and the sales person that sold this plan to me exaggerated their coverage as well as their timely response[redacted]

Customer started with HSC on 10/**Filed a claim on 10/**, exactly calendar weeks after startingCustomers unit was low on freon and the compressor was failingBased on the condition, inspection and diagnosis of the system, no professional technician with their license on the line and in their right mind would even consider claiming that such an issue has just spontaneously startedIt is very crisp and clear that this system had this issue well before the start of the contractOur technician not only did a thorough diagnosis, but confirmed the unit was under manufacturer's warranty, and proposed the best possible options to get the issue fixedWhat the customer did for $by the company who installed the system (possibly incorrectly to begin with since it developed such issues so fast) who has no interest in doing what is best for the future we do not knowHowever that is not the price to replace any of the bad major components that should have been replacedSeems as if the customer may have just filled up the unit with freon and maybe added a leak stop, again we do not know, however the major components which are bad should be replaced while still under manufacturer's warranty and the system should be checked for proper installationCompressor does get affected and does go bad when ran on low pressure/freon and leaving it is a risk that it will go bad sooner than later once the warranty expiresIt's life expectation gets significantly lowered and it may even completely failWe are not sure why this is even a complaintHSC did nothing wrong and requested for our tech to extend our prices and give the best possible solutions for the future for the customerWe gave the customer the benefit of the doubt that he did not know the system had issues, though it is now very questionableThe system is not subject to coverage until replaced or satisfactory repairs are performed by an approved trusted professional company and approved by HSCWe are strictly a warranty company and do not provide home improvement or remodeling or general contracting servicesSuch companies should be contracted accordingly and with their respective ratesThis should have never been a complaint and the account will be reviewed

The information stated in the complaint is not correctThe account was never cancelled, the account was never even requested to be cancelledin fact, the last action on the account was a reimbursement authorized for a customer for which we were awaiting on the invoice forThe account was simply in bad standing as the customer's form of payment was declinedThe charges have since gone through and the account was automatically brought to good standing on an auto-bill setting as requested and signed up for by the customerThe account expired on February ***, It has been removed from automatic renew upon expiration and this complaint will serve as the first and only notice of the customer's desire to cancelA supervisor has been assigned to contact the customer in regards to her balances after the customer called our customer service department and before this complaint

This customer's contract started on 4/ [redacted] at midnight and at 10:AM she immediately filed a claim for her clearly known and pre-existing issueShe was contacted by a claims agent who advised her that we do not make determinations without a diagnosis and despite her telling us that she just turned it on and signed up for this and that it is pre-existing that we would send out a technician to take a lookHowever, should anything be found pre-existing it will not be subject to coverageA technician was dispatched and contacted the customer to scheduleThe customer then proceeded to tell the technician that it "likely needs some Freon" (as she knew the issue), at which point the technician advised her that if that is the case and if HSC approves the work then Freon is covered for up to $per pound (which it is in the contract the customer purchased but, again, only on approved repairs)In an attempt to not only get a pre-existing issue approved but to also get more for the Freon itself, the customer cancelled the service call and refused to schedule it and called to yell at our customer service agents threatening with Revdex.com complaints if we don’t pay for all of her FreonIf the customer's unit is missing Freon as she has stated, and has a leak in the sealed system, then it is completely not covered and takes months to years to develop and manifest - not a few hours upon turning it on for the season as she claimsCustomer was never promised that she can have bad issues before sign up and that it will all be taken care of for $with no regard to the contractOn top of that a supervisor did call and attempt to resolve any possible misunderstandings and even offer courtesies towards either Freon or replacement pending the diagnosis but the customer only rudely threatened and hung upAfter reviewing the conversations and statements made by the customer this was deemed as fraudCustomer signed up for a bad system and demanded under threats of Revdex.com complaints and "legal action" that the contract she purchased be fully disregarded and that her pre-existing issues would be fully paid for before the technician would even be allowed to diagnose the systemThis contract has been cancelled and fully refunded in accordance with the cancellation policyIt will remain on file with the Fraud Prevention Department pending reviewIt was also not the only claim the customer filedShe had numerous claims on the very first morning of her contract that were unrelated and pre-existing including toilets “running constantly” and “not flushing” on top of the bad air conditioner which she had just turned on for the seasonIt is important to note that, as the customer is very well aware, we are strictly a home warranty company and do not provide home improvement, remodeling, or general contracting services Thanks, -Dmitriy

There is nothing new in this rejection and customer's statements and complaints are preposterousCustomer is literally saying that the service she signed up for and purchased all on her own should be different than what it is because that's how she wants itThe service is what the service isThe company pays what is contractually covered and to the contractual limitNot everything and anything just becauseThe water heater claim was approved and covered to the maximum annual limit allowed by the contractThe complaints are literally just unethical attempts to get more from a company that is entitledCustomer does not have an unlimited policy, which do not existCustomer has a contract with all of the limits and terms outlined and followed and lived up to by our companyNot to mention often going well above and beyond just to help the customerReplacing a compressor is a bad idea, not guaranteed, not warranted, not recommended, and not approvedThis system needs to be replacedIf the customer wishes to accept services then we are ready to proceedIf the customer wishes to decline services, then she can do that as wellHowever, we cannot go against company policy or against contract nor can we fabricate prices to replace a brand new system, upgraded to a modern r410a, seer, matching system with proper modifications and materials and labor for the price she would like

So at this point I'm a bit agitated and confused as to who is being untruthful but eager to move along with my repairIt isn't until I get the total price of the unit that I decide to do my due diligence like any customer would doI look at other prices of A/C's similar to the one being suggestion for comparisonThis is where I see the discrepancy in pricing and so I ask the Claims Supervisor ( [redacted] ), Is it possible to get a lower price model? Because I see a few on various websites listed cheaper than what your offeringCan I choose which model is being installed in my home? She answered both of those questions with "NoOur policy is our policy but you are more than welcome to cancel your service and go with another contractor." Some customer service you provide if you continually give your customer the option of cancelling his serviceA little effort to help would be niceA few important points hereNever did I get anyone to try and buy another "unwarranted model" online to get out of paying full price for a new unitI sent 2-emails with model numbers for mere reference that other models of A/Cs were a match for my home as stated and recorded in our phone conversationsWhen I ask to see or if we could go over these policies preventing her of doing either I was told "NoBut Sir you can cancel your service if you'd like" I finally give in and say "Ok, well at the least can I get a copy of an itemized receipt so I know what I'm paying for?" Again I'm told "NoSir I've given you all the information I have you are more than welcome to cancel your service if you don't want to move ahead with HSCIt has become apparent now that this is clearly an issue of horrendous customer service and incompetenceI was later told that she could provide me with an itemized receipt which she sent via emailI then had to explain exactly was an itemized receipt was and what it looked like to her because she clearly has no ideaThe fact that when I ask questions about a service that I'm paying for to ensure that I'm getting treated respectably and not being scammed yet I'm continually offered to cancel my service is absurd to meLastly I contact the contractor once again and to my surprise Samantha has just spoken to them and told Keith (Owner) "Do not speak to Mr[redacted] about my claim." This would be understandable if there were attempts to contract him directly to find a lower price but this was not the caseIn all of our conversation we only spoke about timeline to see whose end the hawas on, HSC or hisDuring this conversation he did express concern himself because he thought it was absurd someone from HSC would portray themselves and their company in this manner and that it indeed gives his business who only operates off word of mouth a bad name to customersThis call was later denied by SamanthaAfter seeing the amount of complaints this company received and the nature in which they occurred I began recording my phone calls for my recordI felt as if I each time I spoke to Samantha on the phone my words and intentions were being mischaracterized and that she was being extremely untruthfulIt should be obvious that this was my only defense to ensure my words weren't being twisted and manipulated in order to gloss over the level of customer service not being upheld by a company that preaches itI see now that this was lost on Samantha as well as whom ever has written this letterYet, once I did begin recording my phone conversations something strange started happeningOutside of Samantha actually attempting to act respectable she went against her previous policy and said she could look into other model numbers for me and offer different pricesNot only that but during our previous phone calls when I asked to speak with someone to make a complaint I was told that I could only call the customer care line and that she did not have any supervisor to make a complaint to I later found out that speaking with a supervisor not within the Claim Department is the proper procedure and Samantha was either being purposefully obtuse or just purposefully facetiousEither way I find to be unacceptable and apparently so does HSC because this is one of the five areas it has informed the Revdex.com is would make changes toSo in closing, this entire response is clearly speaking to at least of the areas to where HSC has already agreed to make changes toI've been lied to and decisively lead down the wrong path by a customer service department/Claims manager who clearly needs a lot more training and handholdingLooks like there is much work to be doneHopefully this isn't over the head of whom ever chooses to review it In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above Sincerely, [redacted] ***

It is puzzling as to why this is a complaintCustomer signed up with known and blatantly not covered pre-existing issues, a service we do not provideNonetheless HSC authorized the initial repair as a courtesyThe customer's leak was so old and bad, however, that it only lasted months and then deemed as in need of replacementDespite it being completely not covered, and despite having already paid out a lot of money on a courtesy repair, HSC then authorized the replacement for the balance of the large annual cap allowed for the HVAC category - on a completely non-covered item - as a courtesyYet, we receive a complaint, and now since the customer had an out-of-pocket expense he did not want to pay he refused the courtesy of full service and requested to cancel the contractCustomer now has a $balance as per the cancellation policy

While we appreciate all our customer's concerns, the statements made here by the customer are false, non-factual, and the accusations are completely absurd and fraudulentCustomer simply wants a bad (band-aid) and non recommended repair done on her system which is not approvedShe has a unit that went bad due to a power outage which is, first and foremost, not a covered issueWe are a warranty company and warrant systems against mechanical failures due to wear and tearWe are not an insurance company and such services are not providedAn agent worked with the customer trying to get an approval for a full system replacementThat is the only recommended and correct repair for this issuePartially replacing expensive parts into an old and obsolete system is not a recommended or approved repair and any reputable company and/or technician will confirm thatCustomer's system is from and is no longer madeIn fact, no rsystems are made any longer and majority of companies are no longer able to obtain themAccording to federal laws, all replacements must be with a minimum seer, r410a freon systems which is what HSC recommendsThe rfreon itself will be obsolete soon and the customer will be faced with having to replace the full system anywayNot to mention a system that old, with such an age difference between parts, is likely to fail before thenHSC has not only worked to get the customer a replacement despite the coverage issues, but we have also approved a second opinion to go out there to look at the system at no expense to the customerThese are all standard and common procedures and recommendations and are all for the BENIFIT of the customerSo requesting completely not recommended and bad repairs and providing accusations, information, and slander to the Revdex.com are suspicious and indicativeof fraudulent natureAny courtesy approvals or action on this account, should any be approved, WILL require a written agreement signed by the customer if they wish to proceedA representative at ext[redacted] is working in the claim and will be in contact with the customer

The Home Service Club is trying to tell me that because the inside of my dishwasher was dirty and HSC does not cover for items that the customer fails to clean, they are deeming it a pre-existing issue! Of course the inside of a dishwasher is going to be dirty when it doesn't clean dishes correctly! That was the whole point of calling them to come service my dishwasher! It was working properly weeks prior to my service call to themPlus, I did not have service and coverage for the month of February(which is what I'm looking for the refund of $for)I had service for January and paid for January-that's not an issueFebruary's payment is the issueThere is nowhere in their contract that states anything about pre-existing issuesShe also states that I requested to cancel when the specific issue was not coveredDo you mean my dishwasher not working properly and cleaning dishes properly? That is covered by my contractI have read the contract in fullI have no idea what courtesy this person is talking about eitherBeing that HSC did not want to honor their contract, I want to be refunded my full February monthly amount of $I don't know anything about any cancellation fees my rate being pro-ratedNone of this was mentioned when I signed up with Cathryn back in DecemberIf they are offering a refund to me that is close to the $I am requesting, I will accept itSo far, they have not mentioned how much they are offering to refund me for a month that I had no coverage with themThey are a horrible company and try to do anything to get out of paying for repairs!
