The company offered me an alternate agreement and a partial refund, but to execute the agreement I need to go into the officeI did not accept the agreement because I do not know the terms so I requested an electronic copy so that I can reviewThe company insists that I must go into the office to access the documentAfter the complaint was closed I did not hear back from DC Singles and I have tried to set up a time for me to review the alternate agreementI reached out to them on April 9th and left a message for Rebecca so that we could set up a time for me to review the alternative contractOn April 14th, Stephanie called me back asked me for my status and whether or not my issue was resolvedI let her know that I called Rebecca on April 9th and she said she would follow up with herOn May 18th Stephanie called me and left me a message because she hadn't heard from meI called her on May 19th to inform her that I never heard back from RebeccaStephanie told me that she would follow up with Rebecca.
Martha, the manager who offered me alternate agreement assured me that there would be better communication from the companyFrom my experience over the past weeks, I would prefer to pursue my original request and cut ties with the company due their unresponsiveness.

need to know any specifics, but if she would like for us to consider
releasing her from her agreement, she must have a doctor send a

can move forward in a positive directionOur time and energy could
be spent on searching for compatible matches for *** ***We
recently sent her an e-mail explaining that e-mails can be impersonal

asked her to please call us to discuss the situation at hand.Again,

I am rejecting this response because:- I did not meet menI met men, including a legally blind man (who was taken advantage of as well) that I was told to go out with because "I didn't have much dating experience".- Of these men, NONE of them were ***I was TOLD during the interview process that there were plenty of men in my age range who were *** and NONE of my NINE matches have been ***They (DC Singles) have pushed me to agree to meet with men who are completely outside of my criteria and preferencesI was trying to be positive, I was trying to be optimisticI was putting all of my trust and faith in their professionalism, and after much pressure, I agreed to meet with these matchesThe result of my experience thus far has been the belief that they only wanted my $and that they already knew they had no clients that met my criteriaThis company continues to make promises and uses advertising.Enclosing, they prey on people who, to them, are vulnerable and wanting that special person in their livesThey pay no attention to one's criteria or preferencesThey just don't careI implore the Revdex.com to do their research further on this companyThere has already been one news segment on ABCwhich focuses on DC Singles, and I am talking to two other major broadcasting network companies who are both eager to air something similar to a "on your side" to help make others aware of this consumer scam

I am rejecting this response because:Since our early April agreement, I have had continuous problems with DC SinglesThey have harrassed me about errors that were theirs: I never went on an early spring referral they left in my mailbox AFTER AGREEING TO GIVE ME PRE-APPROVAL OF ALL REFERRALSThen they sent me unpleasant email notices that I had failed to give feedback according to my contract and that they could "suspend" further action on my account if I failed to comply.They have not given personalized services, as promisedIn April and May, different people called me with referrals who were NOT matches: one with an associate's degree (This fact, by the way, was "altered" by the next person who spoke to me about the referral and said the data "must have been" put into the database wrong.) and one with a bachelor's degree which is the degree both my DAUGHTERS have! I have a doctoral degree and tried to explain to the management that this type of referral was not what I was "guaranteed" I would get. I tried on 5/2, 5/4, 5/5, 5/18, and 5/to speak with Martha, who admitted to being a senior member of the Client Resolution Team, as required by my contract if I have a problemThis senior member told me I had "no right" to be upset with the poor referrals I had gotten because they had "kindly" given me a chance to approve the matches! This is poor customer service in any service industryI then asked repeatedly via email for information on how to seek mediation/arbitration, and got one threatening reply which gave inaccurate representation of the situation.I will no longer try to work out problems with this companyThey repaid $of my money, but, due to misconduct and misrepresentation, they should be required to refund the rest of the money I requested

The issue is that DC Singles advertises a service that it does not deliverSince filling this complaint I have found numerous reviews on various sitesPeople have the same compliant in that DC Singles charges a hefty fee but blatantly disregards their clients' preferencesIn my personal experience, not only was I paired with individuals that did not match my preference, one person said he was almost kicked out of the program and had some serious personal problems.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE IN DEPTH SCREENING PROCESS? The answer is that DC Singles would rather keep emotionally unstable individuals in the program and continue sending them out on dates than refunding their moneyFurthermore, DC Singles has been unethical in its responses to the Revdex.comThey have lied about their attempts to contact me, lied about the discussions I've had with their representatives, and purposely distorted the conversations I've had with client relationsThey also said they would never approve a refund as long as there was an open Revdex.com complaintDC Singles takes advantage of the fact that many people come to them for confidentiality and most likely won't file a compliant or go to court.
DC Singles is a total scam!!!!!

found several matches for *** *** up to this dateTo our dismay, these
matches did not work outWe can completely understand *** ***’s concern
about the men not following through with
contacting herWe expect our clients
to keep us updated on their availability, but not everyone remembers to do so
If a client is active in our system, we can only assume they are available for
matchingIn our Regulations, there is a statement pertaining to “Active
Status”, which explains that if you are an active client you are readily
available to receive matchesUnless a client requests to place a temporary
“hold” on their account, they will receive referrals when we find a compatible
matchWe are just as disappointed if clients do not contact their referrals,
as we put much time and research into our matchmaking processIf a match does
not pan out, the work has still been performed, but we are then left with an
unhappy customer (or two)We would hope that our clients would understand we
do our best to coordinate referrals, but we are unable to control our client’s
availability and/or behaviorWe have
spoken with *** *** on several occasions*** *** also communicated
with our Director of Client Relations about her concernsWhen they spoke, our
Director informed *** *** that the first couple matches we referred to her
would not be counted towards her purchased amount of referrals, since they did
not make contactThis means that although the work had been performed, the
matches were “bonused back”, so *** *** will receive additional matches at
no additional chargeWe also spoke with *** *** about “managerial review”
and how her account will be reviewed at the close of her program to determine
if she should receive any more additional referrals, depending on the
situationWe always make an effort to make a situation right and try to keep
our clients happyOur only goal is success for them.During some
conversations our staff had with *** ***, she requested a refundWe understand
she is frustrated right now, but we do not believe it is beneficial for her to
give up on the program*** *** signed an agreement which states that the
fee she paid is non-refundableIn addition, *** *** also signed a client
obligation form which states she agrees she must meet all of her purchased
matches in order to give our company the full opportunity to meet her

*** *** has received some excellent matches*** *** requested
to meet professional gentlemen and she has absolutely been matched
with only
thatEvery man *** *** met through our program has an
education level of Graduate degree or higherThese men also have
successful careersMore importantly, each man we presented to her
showed to be most mutually compatible with her, according to their
profile informationIn addition, they were within a reasonable age
range, height range, etc*** *** has met some remarkable
gentlemenHowever, there was no romantic connectionWe explain to
our clients that we are matching them with those who show to be
compatible and we have them meet to see if there is any chemistryIf
not, we continue the search for them
*** *** received a copy of our Regulations when she joined our
services (and she agreed to having reviewed these Regulations in her
agreement with DC Singles)Under paragraph #in these Regulations
it states the following:
"Compatibility
is very subjective and that we will send you referrals we deem, in
our sole and absolute discretion as "likely most mutually
compatible" as indicated in your singles dataThe final
determination to meet a referral is yours and yours alone
You
understand and agree that we will supply you referrals on an as
available basisBecause we try to send compatible referrals, you
understand and agree that there is no way for us to predict the
frequency and time frame of each referralHowever, we will search on
your behalf on a monthly basis, but we will only match you with
others that we feel you are compatible withYou further understand
that no two people are generally perfectly compatible and agree that
we will use our best judgment in providing referrals that most nearly
match your requirements."

We try to come as close as possible to what our clients are looking
for in a matchAlso,
under paragraph #in our Regulations it states:

will agree to meet with youIt is impossible for us to guarantee
that any single to whom you have been referred will agree to meet

that some of those you meet may not like you."

I am rejecting this response because:Dear ***, Thank you so much for making the message readable: First, DC Singles has really explained anything. According to their contract they were to provide me with matches based on my profile and a two-hour face-to-face interview. It was apparent by my walking cane, my long history of cancer and my profile that I am disabledI also told them that I am on Medicare DisabilityThe first match they sent to me was, according to them, was "very compatible according to your profiles...we have covered the compatibility aspect for you." This man was NOT a match according to our profiles and when I questioned DC Singles' Stephanie she asked if I had been married to a man with these interests, why wouldn't I accept these differences. She had no concept of how you base a relationship on common interests. His main hobbies were "sports and exercise, cycyling, golf, running and snow skiing. When we spoke, it was clear to both of us that meeting would be a waste of time and money, since we had NOTHING in common.The second match they sent me was even worse. On my profile and in person I described myself as Liberal and had told DC Singles at my interview about all the causes I had worked for including being Executive Director of one of *** and *** ***'s gun control organizations for years. Someone from DC Singles called and said they found another "perfect" match for me, but they clearly did not compare our profiles as they stated. This man, on his profile, listed himself as a Conservative Republican and a former gun dealer who still worked to train private citizens on how to carry concealed weapons. Again, this match agreed that it would be a waste of time and money to get together with someone whose values and political views were completely oppositeStephanie at DC Singles said that they though this match would make for "lively debate," a naive idea of how love matches work.According to DC Singles "we try very hard to find you the right person, base on you profile." Neither of these matches were even close and I, understandably, lost all confidence in this organization. I maintain that DC Singles violated their contract with me by promising services they could not deliver.Regards,*** ***
