Dear [redacted],
I apologize for the confusion regarding this case, it appears the agent handling it was in error. I have credited the $66.22 you were expecting to your account. It should be reflected there now. Please let us know if we...

can assist you with anything further.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2014/07/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Ebates has met its obligation of paying the remainder amount.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/01/04) */
Hello,
As stated in our emails regarding this case, Saks responded to our inquiry stating that actions were taken when this order was being placed that took the credit away from Ebates and attributed it to another source.
Due to...

this we are not considered to be linked to this order and as such are given very limited information about it so as to protect your information. Due to this we are left to speculate what may have occurred.
As mentioned, in most cases where the credit for a sale has been attributed to another source we most often see it happen due to one of the following reasons.
Visiting other sites before completing your order. This runs the risk of linking the order to that site. Especially when it is a coupon/discount code site.
Using and/or even attempting to use a discount code that did not come from Ebates. This gives the credit to the publisher of that code.
Shopping in a new browser window or tab other than the one Ebates opened for you.
The fact is that we are unable to share any credit with you as we did not receive any due to the inquiry we submitted to Saks being declined. We are only able to credit you when your order has been reported to us by the merchant with credit.
We apologize again for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/01/05) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I did not visit other site before completing my order, knowing this was a big order, I didn't want to take that risk.
I certainly did not open other coupon sites knowing Prada never goes on sale or provide discount codes for their products.
At the end of the day, I am getting the run around from eBates and they are not fulfilling what they advertised.
Lastly, for all the reasons you mentioned why I wasn't credited, there is no way anyone can look into them unless a complete forensic is done on my PC where I placed my order, so it's the perfect excuse and bailed plan.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2016/01/12) */
Hello,
Ebates relies on the commission received from our partners to pay any Cash Back to our members. In this case, as mentioned, none was received due to the determination made by SAKS.
As a compromise we have increased the previously offered $20 promo to $100. The bonus amount will show as pending (as shown below) until you place your next order and that order posts to your account. Once the order posts the $XX will be approved and reflected in your account balance.
Promotion Status Amount
Valued Customer 100 Pending $100.00
Please let us know if you have any further questions, comments or concerns.
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2016/01/19) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I am unsure about big transaction in the future by using eBates. Is it just SAKS that does this or other website as well? If a vendor can determine whether they give eBates credit or not on their discretion, the consumers are the losers here.
Maybe or warning or a disclaimer might be helpful in the future stating "Cash back is based on discretion from the vendor giving eBates credit of the purchase, eBates can't guarantee it."

Complaint: [redacted]The rationale...

provided by the business is arbitrary and capricious for termination to the membership. The orders were submitted for inclusion in accordance to the terms and conditions. The termination action is a breach of a contract. As the terms and conditions noted, it was the members responsibility to check your account regularly to ensure that Cash Back has been properly credited and paid and that your account balance is accurate. According to the Term and Conditions, "If you do not believe that Cash Back has been correctly credited to your account you must contact Ebates Customer Service within 90 days of the transaction." This customer did just that. There was no failure to comply with this Program Agreement, and I did not under any circumstances abuse relating to the accrual or receipt of cash back rewards, or provided any misrepresentation of any information furnished to Ebates or its affiliates." Any such inference is a misrepresentation and not a factual matter. Ebates did not make necessary adjustments to accounts that reflected any and all transactions that were returned in within the merchant's return period for buyer's remorse. If a transaction was not redeemable, either the transaction would fall off the account or be reported as 0.00. Transactions that were reported were still recorded but noted that cashback earned was 0.00. A Business representative named [redacted] even confirmed this should have been the process.
In researching this claim, I can see that 175 similar complaints have been filed with the Revdex.com for unfair business practices similar to this.
I am still requesting my prorated payment as the Business did not offer to remedy.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Great interaction with staff and received all Ebates in a timely manner

Hello [redacted],
I apologize for any confusion regarding our Cash Back offer with AT&T Wireless. We do state the iPhone information on both our AT&T Wireless page and our Store related exceptions pages.
We cannot offer you the Cash...

Back you were expecting for this order but have placed a $50 promotional bonus in your account. This bonus will be credited once you place your next eligible order through Ebates and that order posts to your account. We appreciate your use of Ebates and would love to hear any suggestions you may have in regards to this matter. Please let us know if we can assist you with anything further.

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for writing. For the Body shop order we show it has posted to another members account, which leads us to believe that you were logged into theirs at the time of your purchase. I cannot discole all the info, but...

the account is listed under an email address of [redacted]@xxxxx.com (x's are for privacy). Is this someone you know? It is fairly common that someone will be logged into a friend or family members account and make an order.
For the living social order, I do see that we credited you the same day you wrote in and that the cash back for that order was included in the recent payment we sent you. For the DSW order I show no record of you ever contacting us about it. For this missing order, please send along the order confirmation page (that includes an order number, order date and price breakdown showing product total, shipping, tax and method of payment) so that we can look into this matter for you. You can email that info to our CS manager at [redacted]@ebates.com.
Thanks!

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for writing. The rebate for Orbitz is always displayed as "up to X%" as various rates are offered on specific types of reservations. As a one time courtesy we will take a loss and credit the amount you are...

requesting but cannot do so for future orders and ask that you make sure and check our merchant pages if you see "up to" listed so you will fully understand what we are able to offer. You will see the updated cash back in your account within 24 hours.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 7, 2014/05/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I appreciate the resolution. I'd like to point out though that advertising up to 13% without directing to the merchant page first isn't transparent. It shouldn't take much for your web developer to point to the merchant page for all "up to" deals before redirecting to the actual site. Not sure if Ebates operates in Quebec, but not directing to the merchant page to give a clear understanding of what specific cash back applies actually violates their consumer laws. Should definitely check into that. Thanks again for the prompt resolution.

I first learned about ebates on 12/06/16 so I am not a long term customer YET but I am a very satisfied customer who will continue to use ebates. As always I was more than a little reserved about trying ebates at first, especially about adding the extension. But because the advise came from a trusted friend I gave it a shot. I did the majority of my Christmas shopping online this year and have eared $75.74 already. Very impressive. My first check in the amount of $28.95 is already on its way. Now keep in mind I have not been at this long...so occasionally I mess up and do not get credited of my shopping. So all I have to do is call customer service (love these people...the most friendly customer service I have ever encountered) and give them my order number and date...next thing you know my account is credited with the cash back. I even made a large order on [redacted] (not knowing you only get cash back on certain days for certain items) when contacted customer service the emailed me instructions on what to do as far as sending them the invoice so they could see if the ordered should have earned cash back..unfortunately it did not but they showed me a few tricks of the trade to use each time I visited amazon. I am telling you this is a wonderful thing,,,shop and get paid. You may say its not much but in today's world anything is better than nothing and it does really add up fast. Not only can you use this online but you can use it in-store as well. Thank you ebates for being a honest, truthful, dedicated, business. And thanks for hiring the best customer service team...you could certainly teach other companies how to do it. [redacted] a very satisfied customer.

I used to be their #1 fan but no longer. They have proven not to be trustworthy with what I've seen going on in my Ebates account. I've noticed I'm not getting credit for shopping so I have to send them proof. Their reasoning behind my not receiving that credit in the beginning was because I, all of a sudden after a couple years using them now I don't know what I'm doing however clearly not the case. They started making up different excuses since this was happening more frequently & I am not having any other computer issues. I've been monitoring my ebate[redacted] a LOT more closely in the last 6 months. Just recently had 2 orders from the same company less than a week apart, again I got a few more bogus excuses about why I was credited for 1 & not the other (I only reported 1 & didn't state that fact). As soon as I WAS credited for the earlier date I looked at my account & the second date was now gone! It was deleted! I wrote back to customer service & the response was the same as all the others...something along the lines that they are sorry & they don't want me to wait for this to be reported so they will add this to my account, since I said it was deleted the rep said she didn't see anything in my records about it. I know for a FACT it was because if it wasn't I would have reported it too. I sent 3 on the same day & there would have been a 4th! I also wouldn't have questioned why I was getting credit for 1 from a certain store & not the other. If I have not been checking my account like this I would NOT be getting my money. I spend more time checking & double checking to make sure I get the credit that I'm owed. The customer service used to be so good & it hasn't been for going on close to a year now. This was a company I told everyone about regardless if I got referrals or not because I truly believed in them. To have these bad experiences now is beyond disappointing.

Dear [redacted],
Thank you for writing. As a courtesy we have added the amount you have requested though information is posted in our Exclusions and Limitations regarding the use of Gift Cards to pay for orders. We are happy to accommodate...

this request, but cannot do so for future instances as we do not get commission for the portion of any order paid for with a gift card, thus leaving us unable to pass ** cash back for that amount. Please let us know if you have any further questions, comments or concerns. Thanks!

I see where other ebates members have had problems receiving cashback when there was a large purchase. I recently purchased over $2400 worth of fitness equipment from Dicks Sporting Goods on Cyber Monday. I clicked through all the ebate links and received the Cyber Monday discounts. EBATES has not provide the advertised 4.5% cashback for this purchase despite numerous requests.Yet their website clearly states under the Dicks Sporting Good link that Cyber Monday deals are covered, as they state "About [redacted]'s Sporting Goods Coupons, Deals and Cash Back

No matter your sport or team, every season starts at [redacted]’s Sporting Goods.
Earn Cash Back on [redacted]'s Sporting Goods Black Friday promos and [redacted]'s Sporting Goods Cyber Monday deals. " I have had numerous email exchanges with ebates and they have not resolved this issue. Some say that I used a coupon not on their website - as I merely clicked through to the [redacted]'s website and received their Cyber Monday discount and others state that they have to confirm my purchase with Dicks Sporting Goods. Different staff provide different results despite my providing a copy of the email confirmation for the purchase. Yet their website states that for Dicks Sporting Goods, the account would be credited for cashback the same day, as it states, "Cash Back Facts
Ebates Members have been cashing in since 1999. Here's what members have earned so far from [redacted]'s Sporting Goods:
$395,529
Total Cash Back to date
Cash Back will be automatically added to your Ebates account today." It is very disappointing and frustrating dealing with ebates on this issue and after more than a week of emails, there has been no resolution. [redacted]'s has already shipped all items and I have already received one, yet ebates cannot fulfill their cashback.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/19) */
Dear Mr. [redacted] and Revdex.com,
Ebates recently processed quarterly payments to our members. During this process, we found that some funds in Mr. [redacted]'s Ebates account were related to invalid use of our Tell-a-Friend program. Once...

discovered, we removed these funds from the account. When we were contacted by Mr. [redacted] we explained that our system periodically removes any self-created referral accounts. Each new member must sign up on their own, make their own purchases, manage their own account and have payments sent to themselves.
Mr. [redacted] disputed that the accounts were invalid, so we investigated again, but found them again to be invalid.
During this process, Mr. [redacted] noticed that I posted a Yelp review in 2013 about Ebates.com. My review was honest and in good faith, but I have alerted our legal team about Mr. [redacted]'s issue with my review.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
Ebates

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
[redacted], you arbitrarily removed my referrals and associated bonuses within hours after I inquired about my quarterly payment. It is apparently to me that this was an arbitrary decision on your part and not a periodic system process. Nonetheless, I have now introduced those friends and family to an alternative cashback provider that I believe provides a similar value proposition. As I have stated before, under Section 5 of the Federal Trade Commission Act, employees are required to clearly disclose their affiliation when posting reviews of their employer's products and services. As such, I respectfully disagree with your assertion that your review was honest and in good faith when you, as well as your former colleague, were not upfront with the fact that you were an active employee of Ebates Inc. at the time of the review. Since you continue to suggest that I used the referral program inappropriately, please exercise your right under the program terms and conditions to terminate my account. Finally, I do not appreciate essentially getting accused of fraud, the disregard for transparency when employees post online reviews of Ebates and pre-emptively blocking my account on Facebook, one of many social media platforms, when private conversations with social media staff were conducted with courtesy and professionalism. Thank you.

Ebates is SHADY and DISHONEST!!! I purchased a $15,000.00 vehicle from Ebay and was supposed to get - a measly 1% rebate which would have been $150. All along it showed it was there until the day it was time to pay and then all of the sudden - my purchase was reduced to $5000.00 leaving me a $50 rebate. That is such a crappy and shady move. When I copied and pasted my purchase to them - I get NO response. Like I don't even exist. I doubt I'll even get my check now. I should have waited to get the check first and then confronted them. Especially after all of the reviews I've read. Apparently they don't like to honor their "refer friends" rewards either.....watch out for them!!!
