Educational Credit Management Corporation Reviews (%countItem)

Educational Credit Management Corporation is a PREDATORY corporation engaging in unlawful and life threatening extortion. My loan was sold to them and in speaking with them, we concluded in enrolling in a payment plan of $25.00 Through their subsidiary Premiere Credit Of North America 4 years ago and every two years my payment plan is renewed . I have made on time monthly payments of $25 dollars on the 29th of every month. Recently, my credit score went from 716 to 511, a drop of more than 100 points!!! When I looked at my history I saw that it was ECMC that reported I was in default!! This is not the first time they have done this, every time my credit goes up and they see it, they send a letter to the credit bureaus and instantly kill my score. I work for a County Hospital where I was also told that I may even qualify for federal loan forgiveness. When I called ECMC back after noticing this they gave me a run around and hung up the phone. Extorting vulnerable people especially in a time of a pandemic crisis is illegal. I worked very hard to have my credit score to the level of 716 and want ECMC to correct this savage foolishness and remove themselves from my credit score since I am actually in a payment plan with them.

ECMC previously responded to your concerns – please see our
previous Revdex.com response. Your recent complaint raises a couple of
additional issues which we will address.In your recent Revdex.com you state you never heard from SAF MT;
however, records reflect you made payments totaling $309.36 and were granted 24
months of forbearance.

You also believe the 7 years for credit reporting
is based on when the loan was obtained. As explained in our previous
response, the 7 years is based on the date of 1st delinquency that
occurred after you completed loan rehabilitation and defaulted for a second
time. Payments made towards a defaulted loan will be reflected in the
balance reported to the credit bureau but it does not change how the loan is
reported. It is still accurately reported as a 93 (loan in collections)
with a balance.Your loans is currently in a repayment arrangement with PCNA
– please contact PCNA at for questions regarding your
agreement. For questions concerning this response please contact Diane

I am rejecting this response because:
I was not aware my loan was as sold to SAF even though I was making payments, I was under the impression I was paying ECMC I not contacted by any representative in making me aware that my loan was sold. I reject ECMC response, and still urge to remove the default status of the loan based on the fact that I am making payments. This game that is being played in the selling and washing hands clean is something I will not stand for. ECMC is taking advantage of the people who do not have the money nor the expertise to properly cover themself from this savage practice of legal robbery and hurting the future of families. I want a full investigation of ECMC in regards to my case.

Hopefully everyone has that special little license that is required for the State of Minnesota by law to view accounts or engage in any COLLECTION ACTIVITIES. Which will require filing fees and background checks, etc. Also who is College Assist located at 1600 Broadway Suite 2300 Denver CO, 80202/// www.college-assist.com? I noticed the .com vs .org kinda looks like your company is a KNOCK OFF!

See this company illegally steals people's money! They Federal offset taxes well over $23,000 saying I owe a outstanding Federal Student loan could never provide proof of debt! See in January 2019 someone tried to use my Name,SSN & DOB and a fake address (Identity Theft) to take out a loan so I ordered a Consumer Report & Chex Systems and SURPRISE no loans owed! So in later 2019 I applied for a FHA loan with a Bank and SURPRISE loan approved! So how do I get approved for a federal loan if I owe a outstanding "Federal Defaulted Loan" Nothing on any of my credit reports say I owe anything to this company or student loans. So you claim your not collections but too me you so look like a illegal collection company you stole over $23,000 from me and say I owe a whole lot more I gave your company a chance to return my money to the IRS of course attached to my SSN and a letter stating oops! But nope you just keep taking! I never said I want to invest my money in your company and fatten your pockets while me and my family roll loose change to make ends meet THIS COMPANY STEALS MONEY!

I think that businesses like these are a rip off. If a student has defaulted on 15k of student loans what sense does it make for it to be sent to companies like this and have obscene additional "collection cost" added?! It seems like they don't want students to pay off these loans in a timely manner as if the did they would not have collection costs that sometimes are MORE than what the balance of the loan is. Dealing with these people is a terrible and stressful process. I wish more students could get grants, pay cash or start a solid business if "higher education" is the only option.

ECMC is no longer a holder of my student loans. My student loans are held with the US Department of Education. I received a letter stating that they would not be able to be on my credit file. I obtained my credit report as of 03/02/2020 and they are still on it.
Please remove your information from my credit file as you were determined that you acted fraudulent in obtaining this student loan stating that you were assisting me in putting my educational loan in forbearance which I done myself without paying a fee.
If you do not remove it. I will seek alternative measures as seeking bankruptcy to remove you from my credit file.
