Back in early 2019 my employer and I where receiving letters and phone calls from ECMC about wage garnishment. When I got a hold of them I set up a repayment plan with this company. Soon the end of 2019 I was getting laid off and I called to post back a payment to the end if the month the representative said that was fine. Well the representative failed their job and they took the money out anyway the start of the scam an of fraud this company. They asked me to resign papers in which my payment would move down from 125.00 a month to 5.00 dollars. After I signed these in November I called back a few time and spoke to an array of representatives in which I made another payment for 5.oo at the end of November and the representative said that would count to my December payment and the November has already been paid. So I call later in December ask a representative about my payment and the 125.00 they also took they told me my payment is good for the month and the 125.00 will be coming back soon. I call in January make my payment of 5.00 and then later I get a letter telling me if defaults on my loans nc I didnt sign my papers and they cant change my monthly amount with out starting me over. After I talk weeks with representatives he told me they can ch as he the amount but I never signed my papers well I archived my email and sent him copies of the documents signed in the time frame aloted his attitude changed when they realized they where wrong on the document and they have a failed system. I then talked to the manager who is now saying I didnt make a payment in December and that his staff bellow him didnt know any better but I can start a new ten month program after I been in this program for 8 months and about to get off it. They are doing this because they own the loan as nd if the loan goes good they have to sell it back and wont be collecting money or interested on a customer that was do the right thing with a fraudulent comany as ECMC

This is collection agent that is trying to collect from a loan that is not mine. I have provided them with a police report and identification theft application that they asked for and they are still threatening to garnish my wages. The department of education has discharged the loan and no longer has it on file because I also provided them with documents that proved that some one stole my identity and applied for a student loan. I did not apply for the loan and do not have any knowledge of it so there it has been discharged from everyone except this collection agency. If they did collect the money who would they send it to because the department of education has closed the file and the school is closed down. This agency is very fraud and needs to be investigated... the loan was done in my hometown and I have to spend my resources to go back home just to get a police report because my residence state would not issue me one because it did not happen here. This collection agency is now trying to garnish my wages. Please help me I am a victim of Fraud and the agency is refusing to discharge the student loan. I am a consumer that needs help.

My student loans went into default. I was denied the opportunity to have a hearing or an appeal regarding the amount of the loans. I am currently being garnished and my income tax refunds seized. I have received no documentation as to the actual amount owed, the interest rate, collection fees or service fees.

I have been denied the opportunity for a loan rehabilitation and denied credit based on my default status. The servicer is trying to force me to sign for loans some of which were from 1969 when I would have been 8 years old. I refuse to sign documents stating I will pay for any portion of the loans that clearly are not mine.

I have nothing from them but requests for information to enhance their collection pursuit. There is nothing to address my concerns or get me out of default.

I am also being denied student loan forgiveness and cannot receive student loans due to this situation.

On December 16, 2019, Educational Credit Management Corporation (ECMC) responded timely to your complaint filed with the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) on December 9, 2019. You indicated you did not accept the response and your new inquiry was forwarded to ECMC December 18, 2019.
On December 17, 2019, Pam ***, Supervisor – Complaint Management and Quality Assurance, called you at 2:03 pm central standard time as promised to discuss the issues mentioned in your complaint. I am rejecting this response because:I cannot move forward with a hearing when the information I requested is missing or incomplete.
Ms. mailed a letter in a handwritten addressed envelope. I have asked ECMC repeatedly to update my mailing address so there is no further missed communications because of an address issue.Ms. did include a letter with a vague reference as to the interest on my student loans, it was the exact same answer I was given during our phone conversation. I was told I would receive a complete breakdown. There was nothing else in the letter. There was also no indication of any enclosures to reference if anything may have been left out.The print out that was submitted concerning the wages garnished and the two top payments was also incomplete in the only form I received. There was not one included in the letter sent by Ms..I have a right to have a complete accounting of all monies collected by ECMC but for whatever reason I have been denied that request. I need a complete accounting for my records. ECMC has a reputation for reenacting garnishment on ECMC has in my experience formulated a policy whereby they only want to communicate by phone, email or fax. ECMC employees are improperly trained and it leads to miscommunication with borrowers and an incomplete understanding of the process. Talking with Ms. only reinforced that statement. Ms. also had no concrete answer as to why her organization has no process of accountability. She stated "Don't default on your loans then you don't have to deal with us."To have a conversation at this stage is unproductive and repetitive. I have now received a hearing form but have never received any paperwork about how to end this garnishment and make voluntary payments. I cannot afford a roof over my head and basic cost of living expenses and voluntary payments on top of the garnishment it's just not feasible.

Ms. also had no concrete answer as to why her organization has no process of accountability.

I called the customer service department regarding three student loans that were transferred to AES. However, instead of the most current loan balances being transferred, the original balances were transferred in the amount of $5,860.01. The first customer service agent I spoke with gave me the run around. At first, I was asked, “Are you sure those balances aren’t for other loans you had?” then was placed on multiple holds and given “approximate amounts” for what I paid. Then, after being put on an extended hold I was told that they would send over a payment of $3,375.81 to AES - which was still incorrect and didn’t include the $1,000 payment that I made on 10/21/2019. The representative advised me that they would look into the matter and suggested that I email my statements and any proof of my payments to customer service. At the end of the call I was informed that I would receive a call by end of business day on Friday, 10-25-2019, or Monday, 10-28-2019 – I never received a call. So, on Monday, I had to take time out of my workday, again, to call. I spoke with a female representative whose name I did not gather. Her customer service was deplorable to say the least – she was rude, short, and had an attitude. She told me that the system takes up to 72 hours to update and that she really could not do anything about the situation and transferred me into the voicemail of a supervisor. As I am writing this review the issue with my loan balance has not been resolved. I called again today and was told I would receive a call back....still nothing. Then, I asked to be transferred into a supervisor's voicemail and the agent told me that the transfer button on their screen disappeared. When I called again later in the day I asked to be transferred to supervisor and the transfer when to dead air...deplorable service! This company should be ashamed of themselves.
