EGumball Inc Reviews (272)

eGumball manually reates and edits local directory (citations) listings on a monthly basis with unique content. Updating listings with incorrect listings takes 30-days to appear in Google search results. Once a updated listing appears in Google search results it can take up
to days for Google to cluster and push a new index in Google Maps. Google aggregates these citations for trust scoring. eGumball does not update all known citations at once. Updating and or creating a high volume of new citations may seem unfriendly to a search engine like Google. For which reason our service takes time
eGumball's contract is limited to one compliant location - not "locations". Please clarify
eGumball only monitors previously created or edited citations. We do not monitor other locations not contracted

Absolute Rip Off This company is what I would categorize as bait and switch They tell you (only if you ask and contact them -- they NEVER contact you with progress reports) that they are "working on it" but unfortunately NEVER produce results The monthly cost of $is OUTRAGOUS and a total rip off Further, when you question their practices and ask them to justify the work they are doing, they hand you off to another person or tell you that it's a long process, not qualify the statement with back up and statisticsLong process indeed when nothing is being done! The result, no accountably and moreover NO resultsNONE I have been with this company over months and NOTHING just excuses! When I question them they give me the run aroundDisgusted, I requested to be let out of the contract They would not honor my request despite my detailing their lack of resultTo me is the typical reaction of a less than honorable company In summary - TERRIBLE SERVICE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - NO RESULTS -- save your money / advertising dollarsDo yourself a favor and pass when you receive their unsolicited call!

The "change in my company name" is news to meI've been Health & Life Planning for three yearsIf they could not do the task, then I should have been informed as to why there was a "name" issueReality is, they are twiddling their thumbs cashing my checks and stringing out this "marketing time" for all it's worthI understood they would have my account all ready to market the first monthI did my part as requestedThree months into this contract and they hadn't completed the *** updates? Still don't have updated citationsSo now five months into the year and the basics that need completed in order to move me up the *** recognition needle aren't done?? That is my complaint with this companyThey expect me to pay for them to take their sweet time in completely the submissionsI really don't understand their business modelThey have to know people expect resultsTheir first month of any new account contract should be to get everything setup and submitted so that results occur as fast as possibleWhen it takes them three months -- actually more since it's still not done -- to do the setup, that is unacceptable

Mr*** is requesting a full refund in the amount of $He states that he was working in tandem with LinkNow when he signed up with our servicesA duplicate occurred allegedly because of the claim with this
companyIt is against our terms of agreement (Item 12 http://egumball.com/terms.html) to use a direct competitor without our approval during the term of our agreement Both past and presentService was interrupted do to a duplicate listing. Duplicate listings are filtered by Google (https://support.google.com/places/answer/***?hl=en) causing a listing to disappear from the primary index of Google. All duplicate listings are displayed in the supplementary index until the process to remove a duplicate listing completes. The client became very combative and would often threaten our company and its personnel. We are servicing the client per the specifications of search guidelines

eGumball has an established process which is designed to increase the consistency of business information online. This process not only involves creating and correcting data but also managing the online citations which ensure that electronic feeds do not overwrite the updated information.  There are currently 400+ links which require attention and management to resolve the issues surrounding the multiple business which are associated with the phone number, and location of the practice.  This is a problem which eGumball is well versed in solving and has the capability to do so.  These issues however cannot be solved overnight and there are correlations between citation development and many other industries which work on an ongoing basis.

We ask that you give an Account Executive the opportunity to illustrate the work which has been completed, both on Google and in hundreds of other directories which play a role in your online cluster of information.  This data spreads well beyond the Name, Address, and Phone Number of a business and our intentions are to earn your position on the search engines through the building of relevant information.

[i have had 137 phone calls from egumball from may to august. even thought I have explained my distrust and disappointment with my campaign over and over, the only thing that has been offered is for me to payout my contract.   out of the 137 phone calls, I have explained my side to the billing and service department at least 20 times. at the end of each and every phone call is them telling me that I had a contract, even know that egumball did not complete my campaign correctly, I still owe them for the contract.  what about the money I paid in monthly for a campaign that was not set up fully? what is my time and effort worth?  199 a month is not a lot of money, I wish my campaign was set up as expected so that I could have avoided this absolute nightmare that has become of working with egumball. al someone at egumball had to do was set up and watch my campain, I found the mistakes 5 months in. I do not have teh confidence in the compnany to continue to work with them. I also would like a refund for the money paid while not set up fully.   ]

We have spoken with this customer and have resolved the issue.
They have decided to continue with our services.

Our client electronically signed and agreed to our 'maps optimization' agreement and terms and conditions ( http://www.egumball.com/terms.html ) from her office in Ohio ( http://www.ip2location.com/72.241.208.90 ). Our terms and conditions are public and are transparent to our relationship with...

Google. If you read the first sentence in our terms it is clearly disclosed that we are not Google.
Secondly, our client had three business listings at the same address. The incorrect listings were [redacted]'s Pizza and [redacted]. In order to get any of our clients to rank we must first clean up any inconsistent data in order to increase our clients 'trust score'. Per Google Quality Guidelines it is mandatory to remove these listings from Google's index - this process normally takes 30-60 days. We completed the process within three weeks and the client started to rank for one keyword.
Lastly, our client really didn't care to understand the complexities of optimization for Google Maps. In fact, the client said to stop calling as we were making every attempt to service her.
We are willing to continue service with our client but she needs to be more trusting.

I did try to give your account executive a call, she said she will get back to me within 24hrs but it has been 48 hrs past still haven't heard from her.  Anyway, I have been spending quite sometimes the past couple weeks trying to clean up the mess you did to [redacted]s (i.e. incorrect website and my personal email listed instead of business email and some directories had corrected for me.  Also those other directories that I requested you to correct the info since I purchased from previous owner had never work on and I did fix it myself along with another company [redacted] listing that I am working with).  So as of now, most of my info has been corrected within 4-6 weeks.  Therefore, I am requesting full refund, not counting the stress and my time spending fixing and small fee that [redacted] listing charged me compare to your outrageous fee.  I only need the password/login info for those directories that you had my personal email and old website listed so I can go in and change myself.

I was talked into signing up for eGumball’s services by a very slick salesperson over the phone who assured me I could cancel in 30 days if I did not see results. When I did not receive the services I signed up for I tried to cancel (within the 30 days) and was told that sure I could cancel but then had to pay for a full year of fees! They promised increased rankings on Google, Yahoo! and Bing but what I got was a duplicate listing on Google with my name misspelled. Businesses beware and do not sign up with eGumball they do not provide the services promised!

This service understands the
customer’s concerns, and has recently corresponded with the customer to help
resolve these issues. This service does not claim to be [redacted], but is a
certified [redacted] Partner, which means that they are trusted by [redacted] to assist
companies in managing their...

[redacted] accounts.
 A customer service representative
spoke with the customer on 8/14/15 and addressed the primary concerns listed in
the complaint. He reiterated that the customer signed up for a 12 month
agreement, which was signed on 4/9/15. After the customer received a copy of
this contract, this service received no objection from the customer to the
specific terms and conditions of the contract. The terms, conditions, and
contract length were on the customer’s personalized login screen, which the
customer had to have agreed to upon signing the contract. This contract was
also explained to the customer and priced correctly before it was initially
signed. The customer agreed to continue with the services on 8/11/15 until the
end of the terms of the contract. The customer still wanted to cancel at the
end of his term, and a so a cancel request form was sent on 8/11/15. In
conclusion, the concerns brought up in this complaint have been addressed to
the best of this service’s ability.
If the customer has any further
questions, they are free to contact this service at [redacted]0
Monday-Friday 7:30-3:30 PST. A customer service representative will be happy to
assist with any further concerns that the customer may have.

The service understands the customer’s concerns, and had been
working with the customer to address each issue addressed in this review. It is
important to note that no SEO marketing company can guarantee ranking within a
certain time frame. That being said, the service did indeed meet obligations,
as evidenced by the customer’s proven exposure on [redacted] while using the
service.
The service’s representatives reached out to the customer and
left messages on 5/1/2015 and 5/5/2015 to resolve the customer’s issues
regarding their complaint, but the service never heard back. The customer’s
account has since been placed in collections following the customer’s
cancellation of a 12-month agreement on 8/12/2015.
If the customer has any further questions regarding their
account, they may contact the customer service line at [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. When I agreed to this purchase,  I was very clear with them that I was taking over an existing business, and was assured that it would be no problem.  It was not until I called and asked about the lack of change in rating that they mentioned difficulty with multiple businesses with same number.  I was told that they would work on it and get it taken care of.  After 2 months of no change in ratings,  it was my daughter ( 28 , in Law School) who  went online and took care of the other business that had been connected to the phone number.  That was in September.  If E Gumball is still unaware that those changes were made,  then it is clear that they do NOT stay abreast of my account, of any activity,  in short,  they have neglected my account.   As a new business owner,  this is a significant amount of money that I could have used in a manner that actually was productive.   This company has NOT delivered on their end of the contract,  what changes have been made on Google were made by both myself and my daughter.
My call to ask for a refund, or to end contract,  was ineffective, the verbiage was very similar to that used in their reply letter to you. The unfamiliarity of my account alone speaks volume of the quality of work.   This company continues to take money from me,  without clear knowledge of my account status.  Bottom line,   they have not, and are not, upholding their end of the contract.   I am not in a position to hire someone to break a contract, and I am not in the position of power here.  They continue to take advantage of their position. Bottom line, is that I agreed to pay for services that have not been rendered.  This is a breach of contract on their end,  and I am not out of order in my request for a full refund and dissolution of the contract.

I thank you in advance for your attention to this

The client waited three months (half way through agreement) before inquiring on the difference between organic and map listings. Within the first thirty days we clearly communicated our service through our contract, agreement to terms and conditions, website control panel, emails and verbal...

communications. All loaded with terms related to our core service, maps optimization.
The client openly admitted that she did not give 'adequate' attention to our agreement and or communications. Putting the blame on our sales person who allegedly neglected to differentiate the difference between maps and organic results when in fact our sales demonstration clearly surrounds maps listings. Lastly, if there was a misunderstanding to our service we feel that the first 30 to 45 days is ample time to dispute the direction of service.
We stand firmly behind our agreement with no fault. Despite our position in this [redacted]er, we offered the client a reasonable solution to her issue - she declined.

After showing this customer our work we have done on his campaign, he has decided to keep working with us and the issue has been resolved by correcting inconsistent information in his listings. We look forward to continue working with this customer in the future.

We boldly disclosed our company, our service and our terms and conditions prior to receipt of payment as detailed in this attachment:

[redacted]  I can never get through to this company and no one ever returns phone calls.  But, I get at least 5 calls a day at my office for their advertisement.  They have totally misreprented  themselves.  If they refuse to refund my money I will call 8 on your side.  They already have a bad reputation, I don't believe they want anymore complaints.  All I want is a REFUND!!!

We are transparent in the fact that once a customer has
signed up with us, it takes up to a month to set up their account, including
their website, keywords, and overall profile. As per our terms of service (http://www.egumball.com/terms.html)
and customer contract, eGumball cannot guarantee...

specific search engine results
or placement because of the unpredictable and nature of search engines. We advise
the customer to speak with their account executive for further questions.

I had initially signed up after speaking with their high pressure telemarketer, who had taken all of my information, and verified what was correct for over an hour. Within a few days, I received an email saying they could not reach me, please call [redacted]. I reached out to this person, who told me he could not help me, and was passed along to someone else, who kept trying to verify incorrect information. At this point, I felt scammed, and while speaking to a supervisor  who was rude (and confirmed my gut feeling) refused to cancel anything. After speaking with several people who rather than answering my question kept repeating the same exact thing about egumball, I realized I had been scammed. I'd still like to get my money back for the set up and first month, but would also be willing to consider a zero balance statement from the company, and each go our separate ways. Initially, I was hesitant to waste the money to forward this matter to my attorney, but after  speaking with him I had discussed I would try and resolve this issue one last time, or let him get involved if necessary.
