Complaint: I am rejecting this response because:I requested the best quality oak floors to be installed to prevent buckling and worrying about the fooors and I was informed I could only mop with windex on hard wood floorsThis unexceptionable! I never exposed the floors to anything that would cause moisture damageI am disappointed and find it’s disturbing I had cheap floors installed in my homeEmpire can come rip their cheap a
s flooring out of my home and set the cheap s
t on fire in a hay field! Sincerely, Tiffany [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:The floor was finally finished on February 20th as we were told but again they showed up with a supposed manager named Ruth and were going to do the jobThen they asked if we had the moldings and my wife who took another half day off explained that we did not we only were left with the piece for the end of the stairThey then told her they would be back soon to do the job they had to get the other pieces Ruth said they would be back around my wife said that was fine as she had to go into workAt 11.30am I received a call from the installer and he asks me where is your wife I want to come back and finishI explained to him that he was supposed to be there at So after some phone calls back and forth with my wife they showed up at to finishThe installers were very good and neat but the problem I still have is who is compensating us for the circus they put us through November till now? There should be some type of goodwill gesture for the constant no showing and us taking days off from workThe whole process was not handled correctly at all and I believe some goodwill is in order as I stated before we are repeat customersEmpire should stand up and take responsibility and do the right thingI await to hear from you on this matter.Thank you!! Sincerely, [redacted] ***

We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concernsThe General manager personally inspected the installation at the customer’s home on the 5thThe moisture was very high, possibly the result of a leaking toiletWe have recommended the flooring, and perhaps the subfloor, be replaced use to the moisture damage This is not covered by warranty but we would be happy to provide a great price for the flooring replacement once the damage is addressed
We appreciate the customer contacting us regarding their concerns. The local office has left several messages for the customer in an attempt to schedule an inspectionOur calls have so far not been returned
The customer contacted us in mid-July this year and she disclosed that a pipe burst and her new flooring had become damaged by the leak As with most consumer products, flood damage is not covered by warranty, however we offered to work with the customer's home insurance carrier on the cost of repair or replacement; the customer repeatedly refused our offerFurther, we have not received any information from the customer's insurance carrier, and it has never been alleged that we caused the leak in the customer's home The customer alleges that the wrong flooring was installedWe have reviewed thoroughly and can find no discrepancies with the customer's contract or product; the customer was installed with the correct style and color of flooring as agreedFurther, our process is to have the customer verify that the correct style and color of flooring prior to installation, and sign off on this reviewThe customer signed off that the correct flooring product was installed, and only made this claim well after the leak in her home While the floor damage to the flooring so soon after installation is regrettable, we understand the home insurance carrier has made the customer whole

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Empire today installer not only cut, trimmed, shortened (however your want to word it) interior doors in my home, the installer came back to my home on 10/13/to remedy the problem of doors rubbing the flooring by cutting, trimming, shortening the doors for the second time The installer sent by empire today did not arrived with the install manager as agreed prior by the install manager and myself The installer during that visit also removed the exterior door that does not open completely (due to the floor) and reinstalled it The installer then communicated to me that they needed to phone the office to discuss repair options The installers left my home without any further communications with me I then called the office and the office notified inspections solutions to access the issue, scheduled for 10/18/ currently awaiting results The issue with the doors were caused by the defected material of the first flooring installed, and the installer installing the second replacement flooring on top of the damaged flooring causing the need to cut the doors, Sincerely, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was willing to take a refund of what I paid, although with all that I have been through with this situation I feel I am entitled to moreI had to cancel a birthday and anniversary party due to the conditions of my floorThey also wanted me to sign an agreement that with accepting the refund I am waiving all rights for repairs, replacement or talk negative about EmpireWhen I agreed to the refund I told them that the debit card intially used was closed and if they could send me a checkThe manager refused to send me a check stating that the refund has to go on the account intially usedI told him that the account is closed and if they attempt to put it in that account it would be rejectedHe has refused to mail a checkSo this will have to be handled by the courtsAnd the agreement to not talk negative about Empire is also out the windowI was hoping this could all be resolved without filing in small claims court but unfortunately this is the route I have to take Sincerely, Michelle ***
