In each instance, the creditor verified the accuracy of theaccounts. Results of the investigations were provided directly to the consumer. If the results of theinvestigations are questioned, the consumer may want to contact the source of the informationdirectly. The Consumer can refer to the original personal credit report for the source business name,address, and phone number (if available).The credit grantors, [redacted] / [redacted] , filed claims with the government to recover the unpaidstudent loan amounts. The original accounts will appear as government claims for seven years fromthe initial late payment that led to the government claims. Because the government paid off yourdefaulted student loans, the accounts will reflect a zero balance. However, a separate agencycollecting for the government may report collection accounts for the defaulted loans. Once thecollection accounts are repaid to this agency, they will display as a paid collection. Both the originalloan accounts and the collection accounts may appear on your personal credit report for seven yearsfrom the initial late payment.When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of information on the personal credit reportand tells us specifically why they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, we process thedispute as required by law. We contact the furnisher of the information or the vendor that collected theinformation from a public record source such as a court or other government office. We ask thefurnisher or the vendor to conduct a thorough and complete investigation to verify all of the informationregarding the disputed item, and report back within the time frame required by law. Upon completion of this process, we... will provide the results of our investigation directly to the Consumer.Judgments, Tax Liens and Bankruptcies are a matter of public record. Although the court where the disputed public records are filed may not report this type of data, a vendor may collect this data directly from the court's public records and supply that information to Experian. Experian does not divulge the names of our vendors as this is proprietary information and they are not the source of this public record information. Experian's method of verification for public records complies with the requirements of the Fair CreditReporting Act (FCRA).When a consumer disputes the accuracy or completeness of information on the personal Credit report and tells us specifically why they believe the information is inaccurate or incomplete, we process the dispute as required by law. Dear Revdex.com:Our office recently received your correspondence of August 16, 2017, regarding the above mentioned consumer's Experian credit report.If a bankruptcy was dismissed or withdrawn, it appears on the consumer's personal Credit report because every action that relates to credit may become part of the credit historySo even though the Court did not allow the filing of the bankruptcy or the bankruptcy did not go through, the fact that the case was documented allows it to appear on the personal credit report.According to the Fair CreditReporting Act (FCRA), Section 605(d) (1), if a bankruptcy is withdrawn before a final judgment "the consumer reporting agency shall include in the report that such case was Withdrawn".The bankruptcy dismissed/withdrawn status will remain on the consumer's Experian credit report for seven years from the filing date.Thank you for allowing me to assist youPlease contact our office if you have any questions.Sincerely, [redacted] Senior Regulatory Affairs Associate Experian Consumer Affairs [redacted] ***
