In March, my 84-year-old mother received an unsolicited call from virus-eraser in which they fraudulently claimed to have detected a virus on her computerThey proceeded to sell her enough virus protection for computers for several yearsThe total cost of this protection was $2010.00, exceeding the cost of a brand-new computer She has neither run the virus protection nor taken advantage of the alleged "support" Although I discovered this charge after the 30-day return policy, on May I contacted the company seeking a refund on behalf of my motherI was assured that they would issue a refund, and that I would hear from the billing department within 5–daysThere has been no response Given the unsolicited call, the obvious lack of tech-savvy on the part of my mother, and her age, I believe this constitutes elder abuse/exploitation I have filed a dispute with her credit card companyIt is pending
On 2/25/my computer way scamed and a phone # was posted on the screen to call which I did and Virus Eraser fixed the problem and gave me a three year contract that there would be no more problems4/21/my computer was scamed agaim called the # on the screen and [redacted] fixed problem and at that time I called my credit card and talked to the fraud dedt and stopped payment on virus eraser as they had not given me any serviceOn June 8, [redacted] sent me a letter stating that they were going to charge me the full payment of $because I had not followed Virus Eraser's policy of cancellationI did cancell on June 12, and have asked for the ballance to be sent to meI was told, after several phone calls that I have in my email files[which I cannot locate nor can they send] that states that I must first send them a check for $upon which time after recieving the check they will then send me a check for the full amount in to bussiness days,[August 2, 2016]
On Wednesday, March 2, at around 6am, my computer screen suddenly went black with a dialogue printed on my the front of my computer that my computer had a virus or had been hacked and I should call [redacted] immediately to get help to protect my information and to restore my computerI tried to shut off my computer and restart and it would not allow me to do anything I ended up calling the phone number and was on the phone for over hours trying to fix the issue They told me that I had to pay $to just get the virus off and then another $to restore my computer I did so, and ended up authorizing a charge of $to my credit card for a program, Virus Eraser, to protect me from further threatsTech support guy said my current virus protection ( [redacted] ) was not capable of protecting me from these virusesI asked how they knew my computer was being hacked into and he said they had been notified by [redacted] I later checked the Virus Eraser website and learned that I
Virus eraser froze my computer saying I was being hacked and to call this number Thought I was calling Microsoft They talk you into spending hundreds of dollars on this product and take over your computer Big mistake This is a scam
On Feb around PM, my computer screen suddenly went blue with a printed and audio message that my computer had a virus or had been hacked and I should call [redacted] immediately to get help to protect my information I did so, and ended up authorizing a charge of $to my credit card for a program, Virus erase, to protect me from further intrusions Tech support guy said my [redacted] was not capable of protecting me from this virus I asked how they knew my computer was compromised and he said they had been notified by windows defender I later checked the virus erase website and learned that I could get that program for less than $ I believe I am a victim of an internet scam
I appreciate all the insightful and difficult work done todayI thank Deepak for his patience and determination to get at my problem I would highly recommend you
I purchased a lifetime plan from Virus Eraser and I started having issues with my laptop. They called me stating that I had a Mal-ware on my laptop and stated I need to upgrade to another plan. They wanted to install that and I wouldn't have it. After my call with them, I was unable to log on to my laptop and the hard drive was corrupted. I had to take it to [redacted] and get a new hard drive installed and made [redacted] ***. Then yesterday March 22, 2018, a representative calls to take their program off of my laptop which I already had removed from [redacted] ***. The representative then tried to enroll me in a reimbursement and couldn't complete the form so he left me online and said a manager would call me back. No one calls me back and I emailed them this morning and still didn't get a call.
They sent me a "warning" that my accounts were being hacked into when in fact, it was them trying to hack into my accounts as a scam Unfortunately I had a severe headache and was not thinking properly at firstHowever, there were several warning flags later that alerted me: they tried to process my debit card, (which was fortunately denied by my credit union) but it was coming from London,, they kept wanting me to write a check (presumably to get my routing and account number to drain my account), asked if I banked with *** or *** ** ***When I said I didn't, he became angry when I replied I have an account with a local credit union I doubt they were actually performing any service but rather trying to scam me out of my hard-earned money
All positive reviews on this site are clearly made by employees This company has thousands of reviews across the internet all saying the same thing: This company is a scam The customer service is the worst I've seen, but regardless, they allow their "affiliates" to create viruses that will hijack your computer and basically force you to buy this software, we were just charged $and when we called for a refund (they claim to offer a day money back guarantee) the man was extremely rude, and nobody will call us back, and they started screening my phone number No idea why this company has not been sued for fraud, I have already filed a police report along with many others from the reviews I've readThey lie to you, hijack your computer, charge you for an enormous amount, threaten you (the man on the phone told me I will get the virus again if I cancel!), and they do NOT honor their guarantee or promises This "company" should feel ashamed of their devilish deeds
Thanks to Derek and the great help and support that he provided to us Our system was locked and we were unable to access our systems He followed up as promised Great job!
